How to change the ECC Source system in SAP BI

Dear Experts,
In my BI development system instead of showing ECC development system as a source system it is showing ECC production system.
Now in my BI system I want to change the source system from ECC Production to ECC development.
Kindly explain me step by step to change the source system from ECC Production to ECC development.
Regards,
Suresh.

Hi,
Ask your basis team to change source system entries.
They knows how to assign logical mappings.
Tx - BDLS.
Tables - RSLOGSYSMAP.
Try this way.
Bw, Tx - RSA1-->source system, Menu Tools - Conversion of logical system name and Assignment of source system to source system ID.
Thanks

  • How to change the Data sources after deploying the application ??

    Hi All,
i want to know how to change the Data sources after deploying the application to the application server ???
    I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0)

Can you access the Enrprise Manager website of the target Application Server from your location? If so, you can change the datasource in it. If not, yo can bundle the datasource definition in your archive and use that one instead of the one configured in the target OC4J container. Or this will just be the responsability of your customer: whenever you send a new WAR file, they have to modify the datasource if needed and deploy the application?

  • How to change the field length in standard sap program.

    Hi All,
How to change the field length in standard sap program.
    Urgent
    Example:
    Text1 type c length 75,
    To change :
    Text1 type c length 150,
    Point will be rewarded..
    Thank you,

If the only solution is to change the sap standard program, simply change the program, it will prompt for an access key. This key can be retrieved in the SAP support portal (service.sap.com) at keys and requests, sccr keys, register object.
Sometimes these actions are outsourced to a competence center, so maybe youre not entitled to do this, in any case ask a resident senior developer for support.

    Hi Sridha,
If your source database is on Oracle, maybe the best way is to use Oracle Streams (Change Data Capture implementation on Oracle):
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17069/strms_over.htm#i1006135
For non-Oracle source database and if you use OWB10g R2 you can try to use CDC code templates:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10582/code_templates.htm#CHDHGGGI

  • How to change the SID during system copy

This blog /people/johannes.heinrich/blog/2006/07/07/new-features-in-db2-udb-v9--part-3 (i.e.  the "new feature of V9" in this group) only
talk about the system copy without changing the SID.
In reality, we often want to change the SID during the system copy. Can we modify the script mentioned in above blog
    to make SID change possible?
    Thanks!

    Hi Christy,
if you´re using export/import which is prefered you can change the sid during the parameter setting for export and import. You´ll be asked by the old sid and the new sid. For the tablespace names it is not so important because db2 is using tablespace id not the name for the internal administration.

  • How to change the default code page in SAP?

My colleague tries to download a report in Excel but she is having some problems with the output as each of the lines are all included in one cell. When I download the same report, my output is fine and the columns in the lines are properly aligned in various columns in Excel.
I noticed that her code page is 4110 and mine is 1160.
    4110     Unicode UTF-8
    1160     Microsoft 1252, Superset of ISO 8859-1
As a workaround, I just asked her to modify the code page to 1160 everytime she downloads a report. I want to know how this setting is derived.
    My questions are:
    1) Is there a way to set the default code page?
    2) Is this a problem with the SAP version? If she downloads another SAP GUI, will the issue be gone?
    Thanks!
    Joey

1, You can change the codepage in SAPGUI: Select the system => Properties => Others
2, Could be, best is to have the same and most up to date SAPGUI for all

  • How to change the desription of a standard SAP field in the Search Help

    Hi All,
In Table T023T there is a field WGBEZ60(Long text describing the material group) and the data element of the field is WGBEZ60.
Requirement is to change the description of the field WGBEZ60.The desription of the  field is - Description 2 for the material group.
But the user want as - Description for the material group. He dont want 2 in the description.
we are using this field in the search help of Material group for the transaction ME21N and ME51N.
So please tell me how can we change the description of the field in the Search help.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Peeyush

As search help uses data element , it shows its keyword. So you have to do modification to that keyword.
    - Go to CMOD
    - from top menu GOTO -> Text enhancements -> Keywords -> Change -> type WGBEZ60 -> change the description -> Save and add it to transport
    - now use that data element either on the screen or search help. It will have the descripiton modified.

  • How to change the browser title of standard SAP WD4A application - eRecruit

    Hi,
I have a requirement to change browser title for standard SAP WD4A application hrrcf_a_candidate_registration. I know this value is used from application description filed.
Current set up is 'Candidate Registration'. (WD Component HRRCF_C_REGISTER_UI)
I tried to use enhancement framework technique and application customization/configuration - but was not successfull.
I do not like the idea of changing the standard SAP object since it might be overwritten in future upgrade. And also I do not prefer to create z* copy of this application as well.
Any ideas how to handle this request? Is dynamic modification of this property possible?
    Thanks for your feedback.

    Hello,
Did you try to change the description of the service in transaction SICF ?
You can find the Webdynpro services under the tree /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/.

For the boundaries of the globe you can test if the click was outside the globes by comparing the radius and the calculated distance from the center of each globe for each globe separately. The transform of the drawing the OP made is not a standard one so I'm having to comprehend the calculus of transformations I picked up last year and combine it with the linear algebra I learned this year ( might take until next week =( ). I tried implementing it by using weighted average procedures
    i.e.
    >
    delta = ( 1 - t )*P + tQ>
where t is time in fraction of the total time and P and Q are two different points on a line. But there is also the effect of moving away from the equator for the longitude where the effect on the rate of change is increased when moving sideways ( longitude measures degrees around the earth from the prime meridian ) and when I tried to implement those two effects together, they seem to work for some parts but fail as I go diagonally (simply put) from 0deg,0deg which give false results in that the lat or lon (can remember which) is greater than the possible amount allowed ( i.e. abs_value > 180 for longitude or > 90 for latitude ).
Here's the code so far if you want to take a look at it:
I wasn't trying to worried too much about anything else but the algorithm for transforming the coords. I added the JLabel on the north side so I wouldn't have to look at the command prompt.

  • How to change source system in SAP BI

    Hi,
In Sap BI we are having a source system ECC1CLIENT100, based on this we developed all the data modelling, now due to some reasons we made a copy of the souce system ECC1CLIENT100 to ECC2CLIENT100 and we removed ECC1CLIENT100 from SAP BI connections, Now what changes we have to do to connect the ECC2CLIENT100 to BI in the place of ECC1CLIENT100, please give me step to step what to do for sucessfull operations, Both the clients are having different IP, SYSTEM ID,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Bazi,
-->you need to maintain RFC to the new source system
    -->delete old source system
-->create source system connection from RSA1
--> Run BDLS to point the data sources to new source system. This should be run on both BW and ECC.
You will need to run this BDLS several times

  • How to change the reference of a Workbook to a Query

I have a Query Q1 and I have a workbook W1 for this query in 3.5,  I copied query Q1 to a new Query Q2,  and copied workbook W1 to a new workbook W2. (using RSZC)
Now I have Queries Q1 and Q2 and Workbooks W1 and W2. But as the workbook W2 is a copy of W1, it still has the reference to query Q1. Is there any way to change the reference of a workbook to a query ?
My requirement is, workbook W2 should refer to query Q2.
    Appretiate your help.
    Regards,
    R. Vodnala

Go to design mode of the second workbook and change the query using the edit option to Q2 then your workbook W2 will refer to query Q2
Just to get the idea go through this link here it is shown how to change the query.

  • How to change the source system

    Dear Experts,
I have Ecc1 as one of my source systems to BW Quality. Now the client wants to stop the present source system and wants to get the data from new source system i.e. Ecc2. To divert the present flow to new flow.I have looked the previous post regarding the same but are not clear to me. could some one let me understand steps to look into.
    Thanks Regards,
    Mannu

you need to maintain RFC to the new source system
    delete old source system
create source system connection from RSA1
Run BDLS to point the data sources to new source system. This should be run on both BW and ECC.

  • How to retreive logical name for the OLAP source system

dear all, i am writing an extractor for a data source and need to fetch the OLAP SOURCE SYSTEM (r3 backend) for it.
obviously in RSA1, you can see the source system of the data source, however, i have debugged this and could not find the function or class that puts the source system in the field.
in short i have the data source, and i know i want it to be the active version, so how can i get the olap source system of this ?
    thanks

Try tcode SM59.  I am locked out of the transaction at this client, so I can't give you any more details.
You can also look at the source system in RSA1 ... go to the source systems tab and change it.
Both of these steps are typically basis steps, so i would advise you to be cautious when doing anything in either of those screens.
