How to change the Horizontal Frequency?

I can change the resolution, but not the frequency (Hz) why?
Since I live in Sweden, a PAL land, I'd like to make sure my DVDs run at 75Hz. Running a DVD at the default frequence (which doesn't show, and I don't know how to find out) it looks like it converts PAL 50 Hz to 60 Hz, which is terrible.
(and yes I'm a newbie

I think I'm sort of right. I found this on the web talking about LCD displays:
Refresh rate, response time, flicker and motion-blur
There seems to be a lot of confusion and mis-information on these topics on the web; here's my clarification...
Refresh rate is the rate at which the electronics in the monitor addresses (updates) the brightness of the pixels on the screen (typically 60 to 75Hz). For each pixel, an LCD monitor maintains a constant light output from one addressing cycle to the next (sometimes referred to as 'sample-and-hold'), so the display has no refresh-dependent flicker.
There should be no need to set a high refresh rate to avoid flicker on an LCD.
Response time relates to the time taken for the light throughput of a pixel to fully react to a change in its electrically-programmed brightness. The viscosity of the liquid-crystal material means it takes a finite time to reorientate in response to a changed electric field. A second effect (which has a rather more complicated explanation) is that the capacitance of the LC material is affected by the molecule alignment, and so if a step change is brightness is programmed, as the LC realigns the cell voltage changes and the brightness to which it settles is not quite what was programmed. Unless 'overdrive' (which tries to pre-compensate for this effect) is employed, it may take several refreshes before the light output stablises to the correct value. Response rate for dark-to-light is normally different from light-to-dark, and is often slower still between mid-greys. VESA and others define standard ways of measuring response time, but a single figure rarely tells the whole story.
Manufacturers 'response times' rarely tell the whole story.
Unless combined with a strobing backlight, response times much below 16ms are likely to be of only marginal benefit, owing to more-dominant 'sample and hold' effects (see below),
The visual effect of motion blur is self-explanatory and it is fairly intuitive to realise that a slow pixel response-time will cause this problem. What is less obvious, but at least as important in causing motion-blur, is the 'sample-and-hold' effect: an image held on the screen for the duration of a frame-time blurs on the retina as the eye tracks the (average) motion from one frame to the next. By comparison, as the electron beam sweeps the surface of a cathode ray tube, it lights any given part of the screen only for a miniscule fraction of the frame time. It's a bit like comparing film or video footage shot with low- and high-shutter speeds. Motion-blur originating from sample-and-hold in the display can become less of an issue as the frame (refresh) rate is increased... provided that the source material (film, video, or game) contains that many unique frames. For LCD TV there is significant interest in the industry in strobing (flickering!) the backlight deliberately so as to reduce sample-and-hold motion-blur!

  • How you change the download frequency for a single Podcast?

I have iTunes 11.1.5 for Mac, and I can't find how to change the down load frequence , aka "check for new episodes" setting for individual podcasts. I've tried using the settings menu in the "My Podcasts" and the "List" podcast view. When I do this, I see these setting:
    Keep
    Download
    Sort Order
    Play Order
If I click on the "Defaults..." button, the top setting is "check for new episodes"
I have no problem with being able to change the  default download frequency setting, but I am at wit's end with locating where I can change that setting for individual podcasts.

  • How to change the Phone Frequency

I bought the Lumia 800 that have the windows 7.8 outside the country i live in now (Brazil).
I was informed that the frequency that my phone uses is different that the one it should be. Because of that, my phone can hardly ever get good internet signal.
I was also told that for the windows phone 8 there is a app that can fix this, but this app is not available in my market place. I wonder if anyone knows an app that can do this or some other way for me to fix it.
    Thanks
    Solved!

What is puzzling is that if compare specifications for quad band Lumia 800 for UK and Brazil can't see any differences as here:
    http://www.nokia.com/br-pt/produtos/celular/lumia800/especificacoes/
    http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/phones/phone/lumia800/specifications/#
In Brazil, the 1,900 MHz band is paired with 2,100 MHz to form the IMT-compliant 2,100 MHz band for 3G services, which might cause issues however.

  • How to change the frequency of pulse train on the fly using an array of values?

    Hi all!
First I want to thank U for the great job you are doing for this forum.
Iam still busy trying to control a stepper motor, by sending pulses from my E-series 6024 to a compumotor s6- stepper Driver. I've managed to get it working. I desperately need to control the motor using the values from an array. I believe we can use two approaches for that:
1st - I can get an array of the "numbers of pulses". Each element must run for 10 milliseconds. Using that we can calculate the array of frequencies to send the number of pulses within 10 milliseconds for each specific element. Could we use the arrays of "number of pulses" and frequencies in a "finite pulse train " and up
date with each element every 10 millisecond?
2nd - Or Could we use of the frequency array in a "continuous pulse train vi" and update it every 10 milliseconds?
Please note that I must use the values as they are.
Can someone please built a good example for me? Your help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Chris

    Tiano,
I will try to better explain the paragraph on LabVIEW. The original paragraph reads ...
"While in a loop for continuous pulse train generation, make two calls to Counter Set Attribute.vi to set the values for "pulse spec 1" (constant 14) and "pulse spec 2" (constant 15). Following these calls you would make a call to Counter Control.vi with the control code set to "switch cycle" (constant 7). The attached LabVIEW programs demonstrate this flow."
You can make two calls to Counter Set Attribute or you can make a call to Set Pulse Specs which, if you open this VI, you will see that it is just making two calls to Counter Set Attribute. What you are doing with the Counter Set Attribute VIs is setting two registers called "pulse s
pec 1" and "pulse spec 2". These two registers are used to configure the frequency and duty cycle of your output frequency.
The example program which is attached to this Knowledge Base demonstrates how to change the frequency of a continuous generation on the fly. Why continuous? Because changing the frequency of a finite train would be easy. When the train completes it's finite generation you would just change the frequency and run a finite train again. You would not care about the time delay due to reconfiguration of the counter.
If you would like to change the frequency of the pulse train using a knob, this functionality will have to be added in the while loop. The while loop will be continuously checking for the new value of the knob and using the knob value to set the pulse specs.
LabVIEW is a language, and as with learning all new languages (spoken or programatic) there is a lot of learning to be accomplished. The great thing is that LabVIEW is much easier than mo
st languages and the learning curve should be much smaller. Don't fret, you'll be an expert before you know it. Especially since you're tackling a challenging first project.

  • How to change the frequency of a finite pulse train?

Hi all? I Know I’ve asked once a similar question, but I need a better answer. I would like some ideas or examples on how to modify the example in LV; "Finite Pulse Train Generation - Intermediate for AM9513-Based Devices",so that the frequency can be changed while the VI is executing.

You are responding to a very old (8 years) thread, be aware that that might not be the best option.
However, you want to decrease the frequency? or increase?

  • For the life of me, I can't find out what size a photo is in terms of inches or how to change the size of the photo[s] so I can print them. I think I read somewhere to click edit, then click adjust. Nothing there about sizing.

For the life of me, I can't find out what size a photo is in terms of inches or how to change the size of the photo[s] so I can print them. I think I read somewhere to click edit, then click adjust. I don't see anything about re-sizing when I click the adjust tab: only saturation and tint levels. Thank you.

With respect to digital images, there really is no size in inches. The size is given as number of pixels horizontally and vertically. In iPhoto '09 you click the little "i" inthe lower right side of the window and it will display information related to the selected photo, including the pixel dimensions. I do not have iPhoto '11 installed so I don't know if it is the same there.
In some applications, such as preview, it has something additional called Dots per Inch (DPI) which you would think would allow you to convert the pixel dimensions to inches. It is not a real thing, though. The DPI is determined by how large or small you have chosen to print your photo and the capabilities of your printer.
There is also something called Aspect Ratio, which is usually expressed in inches x inches such as 6x9 but that doesn't mean the size on the screen or when printed is 6x9.  It is the ratio of the pixel dimensions.  When cropping your photos, you will have several standard aspect ratios to choose from plus any custom ones you create.
In iPhoto '09, after you choose Print, in the Print Setting window are the settings for the size you want the photo printed. You want to shoose a setting with the same aspect ratio of your photo. Otherwise, iPhoto will resize and/or crop your photo to fit the size you have chosen.

  • Camileo S10 - how to change the aspect ratio to 16:9

Does anyone know how to change the aspect ratio when making movies with the arcsoft software included with the S10!!!!!
    Won't let me select 16:9 only 4:3!!!
Not sure why as when you play the recording back directly through the telly it does it in 16:9 so I know it's being recorded in the right ratio!!

You cannot change the aspect ratio because you record at full hd 1080. The S10 records in format 1440/1080 at full hd, wich means 4/3. The S10 is not capable to record in full hd at 1920/1080 (this is 16/9 full hd). It is simple:
Camileo S10 record 1440 pixels on horizontal and 1080 pixels on vertical. The aspect ratio is 4/3.
Answer for your question: if you want to see in 16/9 format use HD2 (720p) for recording.
    Bye.

  • How to change the OraSSO login link in webcache/load balance

    Hi
we have 10gAsR1 installed as a Portal instance. We have 6-server

Wb ch1 and wb ch2 => webcache (listening port 7777)
    portal1 and portal2 => Portal listening 7778
infra =>Infrastruture with repository Portal/Oracle SSO (listening 7777)
This set up is working fine for our intranet setup, now we need to open this for couple of external clients. Well initially we need to open on the load balancer server on port 80 for external team to access, it works fine when we make it publc access.
Now when we need to make it SSO (siteminder) enables, when users click on login link it first goes oracle sso then it internally redirects the page to site minder sso.
Well, I have noted that the sso server details are mentioned in global setting sso/oid details. Since we need to open this for external client we have to add a DNS entry for this so that we can allow its access over firewall..
Now I have made DNS name change at my infrserver level, now I need to update the change at the load balancer server (where wheb chache is running).
Any one know how to chang the URL at load balancer.
I am struck at this point please suggest how should i proceed..
    Thanks,
