How to change the order of the top level navigation?

hello,
i don't find where i can change the order of the top level navigation.
help would be great because there is no documentation for this issue.

If you want to define the sequence of the entry points for display in the portal, you can prioritize the entry points. You define priorities for the entry points by assigning a cetain value to each of the entry points in the SORT PRIORITY. You may only define values greater than 0 for the priorities and lower than 100 (default value is 100.0). The smaller the value of the entry point, the further left it moves on the navigation bar. The entry points without a priority appear in any order.

Hi,
how it is possible to define the order of display roles in the top level navigation?
If I add roles to a user in user administration the system automatically sort the roles. In this order the roles appear in top level navigation.
I want to define my own order. How is this possible?

Top level navigation to be re organized to come in one page

Dear SDN,
I have one requirement. I want to change the Portal Theme in such a way that Top level navigation to be re organized to come in one page istead of scrolling left or right. Suppose the user having more than 20 roles then he shouldnt be scrolling more times to left or right for the roles, thats why we want that in one page.
Can anybody please help me to solve this. Is there any way where we can set all roles visible in one page??

There is a step wise procedure for how can you set Navigation Level to 0.
I. Configure Top-Level Navigation
       1.      In the Portal Catalog choose Portal Users-> Standard Portal Users. This folder contains the Default Framework Page.
       2.      Right-click Default Framework Page and choose Open ->Object.
       3.      From the Page Content List, select the Top-Level Navigation iView and click Properties.
       4.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Number of Display Levels property and enter the value 0, 1, or 2, depending on how many navigation levels, if any, you want for top-level navigation.
Choosing 0 removes top-level navigation and displays your navigation structure in the Detailed Navigation iView.
       5.      Click Save.
II. Configure Detailed Navigation
       1.      From the Page Content List of the Default Framework Page, select Desktop Innerpage and click Open.
       2.      From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage select the Detailed Navigation iView and click Properties.
       3.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Start at Level property and assign a value that is one higherthan the value of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure l. Configure Top-Level Navigation. For example, if top-level navigation is configured for one level, the detailed navigation begins on the second level, that is with the value 2.
Detailed navigation is not automatically synchronized with top-level navigation; the values that you enter for top-level and detailed navigation must agree. For example, if you enter the value 1 for top-level navigation, while detailed navigation still has the value 3, one level is left out, creating a gap.
       4.      Click Save.
III. Configure the Content Area
       1.      From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Content Area iView and click Properties.
       2.      In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Number of Display Levels in TLN property and enter the same value as that of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure I. Configure Top-Level Navigation.
       3.      Click Save.

Top Level Navigation - Design bar borders

SAP EP 6.0 SP9 on NW04
We're using the top level navigation iview (TLN) out-of-the box and have configured the look and feel of TLN using the Theme Editor so that it follows the customer's corporate identity.
However, we cannot remove the two white vertical borders around the design bar in top level navigation or change the color to the same color as the top level navigation. It is only possible for us to change the background color of the design bar but not the color of the design bar border. The marketing department thinks this is a huge issue, which must be fixed.
We're almost certain that the problem cannot be solved by configuring the Theme Editor.
Does anybody know whether it is easy to modify the code or css files to change the white borders of the design bar? Any idea of what is the best approach?

EP About top level navigation

We are designing that many roles are assigned to one user.
(about 7-8 roles per user)
When many roles are assigned to the user, tabs in top level navigation bar can not be displayed without scroll horizontally.
We want to display all roles at once, without scroll.
To realize the above, roles must be displayed on 2 records
in the one top level navigation bar.
Is ther someone who knows whether top level navigation can
be displayed at 2 records on a bar, or not.
Any help or information would be appreciated.

first, you might want to reorganize your roles and possibly have a look at the "merging" feature.
Next, you might change the portals theme to use a smaller font for the top level tabs.
If both options are unsuitable, you can develop your own top level navigation component by writing some java code. Then you can make it look whatever you like to (and I mean it, it's extremely flexible, I did it early in the time of EP6 SP 0 ramp-up, but definitely takes some time).

hi all,
does anybody know how to create a link to a top-level navigation item from an jsp iView? the idea is similar to Home-page and area-page concept in the new ESS with WebDynpro. From the home-page, users can navigate direct to an item which is displayed in the top-level navigation. fyi, we are on EP6.

Please follow the procedure:
To Configure Top-Level Navigation

Tab in Top Level Navigation is not highlighted when clicked on

Hi guys,
We have 1 problem in EP 6.0:
I create 1 iview(testiview), and attached to the role(testrole), assigned to 1 user, then login with that user. In top level navigation, i am able to see the role(testrole) in top level navigation, but after i clicked, the tab for this role is not highlighted, but the content of iview is displayed,
Any one knows what happened?

You have created one role and added one iView under it.
now can u tell which one you made as entry point.
if Role is the entry point are you getting the iView link in the DTN ?
If you made iView as entry point and then you r getting the content in content area and the iView link in the top.
i think the second one happens...
Check the role and iView properties .
Make the Role as entry point..

Show/Hide tabs in top level navigation of a role based on assigned services

Hi,
I have an interesting requirement. I have created an overview page in abap web dynpro which has links to various services.
Based on the r3 roles assigned to the user, we need to show/hide the services in the overview page and top level navigation.
I can show/hide the views in the overview page but the links on top level navigation are created in the portal frontend by creating worksets, iviews, etc.
Is there a way I can show or hide these worksets which are defined in the role on top level navigation?
In a nutshell, can i update the visible/invisible property of a java workset from a call in abap web dynpro?

What i meant was that you can do a custom TLN like this

Seems to me java/jsp is more appropriate than doing it via WDA.
ANother way that you might look into this is Application integrator which again java programming effort needed.

Top-Level Navigation Tab Image

In the top-level navigation it allows you to assign background colors for the tab colors when selected or not selected. However, you can reference an image with a unique path in this field. So when the top-level navigation renders it displays an image, gradient for example instead of a background color. I did this a while back but cannot locate this information. If someone has done this before and can provide this information that would be great.

and this is the value I use :

Top level navigation moves upwards

Hi.
I have experienced a strange little thing and wanna know if any of you have experienced the same.
Clicking top level navigation the very first time after logging on to the portal it (tln) moves upwards 1 (one) pixel.
Strange but true. Is it a bug or is it just the way it works???

Top Level Navigation and Web Page Composer

Dear all,
I've a Site on Web Page Composer, and on this I've many Web Pages, so I've generated a Site Navigation. The Site Navigation generate a Top Level Navigation entry (Portal Role with External Connector), in this case all pages are displayed on a single menu entry. I would like to separate the pages on some Top Level Navigation Entries, what is the recommended way to do it? Create the pages on separated Sites and generate Site Navigation for each on?
To clarify I would like a menu structure like this:
Info (Top Level)
Page1
Page2
Page5
Customers (Top Level)
Page 3
Page 4
Page 6
Employees (Top Level)
Page 7
Page 8
And just an one site with all pages on Web Page Composer.

every Site Navigation creates only 1 navigation file that you can integrate into the users navigation.
In your case:
Role (PCD)
Folder -> Info
Folder -> Customers
Folder -> Employees
Create for every folder (that are entry points) in the role a web site in WPC.
Ex:
Web Site: Info
Web Pages:
Page1
Page2
Page5
Create a site navigation and add the site navigation to your folder Info.

How do I change the order of the icons on the top right hand corner?

I was wondering how to change the order for the icons at the top of the screen. I selected the option of not showing the battery status bar in the energy saver section. However, when I decided to add it back to the top, the order changed. This may sound strange but is there any way to get it back in the correct order.

How to change the order of the tabs in featured news?

Hi,
I use the 'Featured News' widget on my company website and it has 10 tabs. The newest item is at the top but when I add a new tab it goes to the bottom and I can find no way of changing the order of the tabs so that everytime I add new news I have to copy each tab and it's content down one place in order to get an empty tab at the top to put the new news item in. This takes an unneccesssarily long period of time. Can someone please let me know if there is an easy way to change the order of the tabs?

Just click on the title tab until it is isolated (one click before the text is highlighted) and move the tab to the position you want.

I've done this in the past but found that the position of the tab in terms of it's place in the hierachy doesn't change so if I move the top tab down one, the way you've described and then upload the page I find that the second tab down (which was the first previously) displays first. How can I change the 'position of the tabs interms of their hierachy in the widget?

How do I change the order of the fields in my pdf form?

I am using pdf. form I made in Acrobat and distributing with Adobe FormsCentral. We use a table format for our teachers to fill out their field trip schedules and therefore use many different fields.
How can I change the order of the fields (not for tabbing, we figured that out)...so that when we receive our notification email, I can see the inforamtion in a specific order (Date, Time, School, Program, etc).
We would also like this same order to appear in the "View Responses" table. I know you can drag and drop the order in the table but we have over 100 fields and that is going to take a really long time.
Please help???

What do you mean by the "order they appear in the pdf structure"? What is the "Pdf structure"?
thank you for your help... this is really upsetting, as I thought we finally found a solution with Adobe Forms : (
We really need the fields to report back in a specific order and wouldn't have time to rearrange over 100 fields with every form that is submitted. We receive about 10-20 different forms a day (same form layout, just some of the fields will have to be prefilled depending on school/teacher reservation... so we have to name each form a different name, for each school).
Thank you again and maybe one day they will change that. Is there anyway to set it up in the web verison of Adobe FormsCentral to look similar to the table we have created?
