And I try it in test of my SAP company and it is ok. but when i apply in my SAP company, it is not working, i don't know why. How to change the MM Period

I wanna change the posting period from 02 - 2010 to 12 - 2009 means back date, Please help how it has to be done.
i had tried in MMPV, MMRV, but no result. Give calender related error.

If you want to open previous period for reversal entry or additional entry
The following are steps for Opening previous period in MM :
1. Go to TCode SU01 (see OSS NOTES 487381)
2. Choose "change" tab with your loging Name
3. Choose "Parameter" tab
give Parameters MMPI_READ_NOTE with date format as YYYYMMDD
(say today 20071201)
4. SAVE.
5. Go to T-code MMPI
6. open the old periods which you want to post into,
Note :
the period opening will be valid for only for the particular day only.
7. Complete the posting you want to reverse or add
8. Go to MMPV to close the periods.
These steps first do it dev or quality then proceed furthere .

I want to change the posting period for closed period. how can to do?. My period 2010 is in period but I want periods in months. who can I help me?

Hi Mary.......
One you created you can not change the type of periods of Posting Period.
This is SAP Standard that once you created you can not change it.
But if you have not done transactions for that period then you can remove and recreate with the period type as 12 Months...

How to Change the Validity period

Hi All,
Could any one please explain how to change the validity period of SAP as when i am trying to post the PO with a delivery date in year 2011 it is not allowing me more than 2010 year. When i checked in Calender Maintenance the last entry in it is 2010. When i am trying to change the validity of the Indian settings it is not allowing me to change the year from 2010 to 2012 or any other.

Just check "FOPC_CONSIST_CHECK" T-Code .
Acthually this is for "Consistency Check on Validity Period"
I am not very sure weather change option is there or not.

My concern is, i have a document posted to 43100 GL Expense acct, which is also defined as cost element, GL field status G004(cost accts). But when the original document is posted no is no assignment of any cost object.
But i have to reverse the document and when i use FB08, the reversal is popping up with error " Assignment of CO object is neccesaary " Assign the cost center.
Is there any way we can update the cost center for posted docuemnt? if so how? and can i make the cost element invalid for previous month so that it will not ask for cost object and change the field status of the GL from g004 to G001 only for reversal and set it back after posting is done.

Open the file "oswatcher" file.check for the line "/startOSW.sh X Y Z". Where X is the snapshot interval

Change the posting period

Hi Gurus,
Can any one help me with changing the posting period of the company which is by mistake take as 12/2009 and i want to change it to 08/2008. I ahve already done some material movement in this and the system is not letting me change it in OMSY. Can i use MMPV to close this period and the use MMPI to open the new period as 08/2008. As this will be in past if compared to the current period in system, will there be any problems??

It is possible to re-open a previously closed period. However, it is NOT advisable to do so because the valuation data of the previous period could be affected.
In general, it is only safe to reopen a previously closed period when no material postings have been done after the period shifting to the new period.
If there has already been postings after the period shifting to the new period, reverting the period back will cause database inconsistencies in the history tables.
If you decide to proceed with this process, you can use the program RMMMINIT, but, please review the documentation of this program first!! and the check the SAP notes 487381 (for the error message that you are receiving) and the 369637 (for an explanation about the inconsistencies that will be generated.
Steps are as below;
Go to Transaction Code SE38
Enter program name RMMMINIT
Execute or press F8 function button
Enter your company code (From and To)
Enter relevant date: Say 01/03/2008 for Mar. 2008 month to be opened as of now
That means, user can post for the month of Feb 2008 as well as Mar. 2008
Refer SAP Note No. 487381 for more details.
As per SAP Notes 487381 ( If the periods are opened in advance in mmpv to again change it to current period the following process should be follow ), Go to Tcode MMPI, then go to menu bar and select system -> user profile->owndata.In that screen , under the parameters tab enter MMPI_READ_NOTE in Parameter ID field and enter, then under short description you will get Initialise period. How to change the posting date in UD stock posting for a HU managed item?

Hi,
We are using Handling Unit managed items with QM activation. For a specific HU managed material, we wanted to post the stock on a previous date. We have created PO on a back date and made GR also on a back date. Now the problem is, the system has generated an inspection lot. Now while trying to do UD and stock posting, I do not see the "Doc" tab which we normally see in UD stock posting for normal inspection lots (non-HU managed items) for changing the date.
I don't see any other way to change the posting date for the HU managed item in UD stock posting. Anyone can help please?

hi everybody,
as i have installed sap 4.7 ides version on my home pc for practice , but hwenver i am creating the new material master in the system , i observe that in accounting1 tab the current period is 12 2002 , how should i change the current posting period so that i can start the transaction in current uear 2009 and then later i can work in 2010 ....
i have tried the transaction mmrv, mmpv, mmpi through some resources but i didnt know how to do the settings in the system in IMG (SPRO) kindly help me through , i have wasted lot of time in this..
i hope MM team will help me out of this...

Hi,
Check in OMSY Transaction that, Which current month and year is having your comapny code.
and go to T.Code MMPV
enter Next Month of that cureent period and Year
and Execute. You find the message that your current period has changed.
Do the same process month by month till reaches to current period and year.

How to change the posting date of confirmations?

Hi,
In my company CATA is scheduled as a background job and uses some ABAP logic to set the correct posting date for the confirmations that are transferred to the PS module. As a result of a wrong date entry in the table which is used in the ABAP logic, all the confirmations (8572) that should have had posting date in February got posting dates in March.
As far as I can see some of the options are:
- Use CN48N and cancel one and one confirmation
- Manually add 8572 confirmations with the correct amount of time, employee number, periode, posting date etc.
Due to the amount of confirmations this procedure will be very time consuming.
My questions is what is the best procedure to correct the posting date for 8572 confirmations with wrong posting date?

You need to initialise the posting period through MMPI todo that the following steps needs to follow
1)once you close the period it will raise data inconsistency for that you need to miantain the MMPI_READ_NOTE with current date format in your User ID
Then only system will allow to initialise

Problems with the posting period....

Hi guys,
every once in a while the old problem with the posting periods occurs. This morning it hit me and I went out to repair it.
Starting out from MMRV I checked the open period and it said 062009.
Using MMPV, by mistake, I opened 112009, so that I'm able to post to 112009 PLUS the previous period 102009 (which is ok so far). Later on I checked OB52 to see, if finance is not the problem. The opened period lasts from 012009 to 122009.
Long story short: everything seems perfectly alright, however it still doesn't work. It says: Posting only possible in periods 2009/11 and 2009/10 in company code 1000
I don't see where there could be a problem now...
Any help is greatly appreciated!

How to change the field 'Current Planning Period' in xRPM portal?

In xRPM portal, under portfolio management --> financial planning, we have a field 'Current Planning Period'.
Can anybody tell how to change the values of this field for all the projects/items at once?
Also, when I am trying to change for individual projects. its opening the F4 help but not selecting the date on which I double click.

No, you cannot add another vPC peer-keepalive configuration.
Taking down vPC peer-keepalive will not affect your vPC peer-link and vPC operation. It will be a problem if and only if vPC peer-link went down after the peer-keepalive is down first, this will cause dual active.
