Turn on Preview (BTW how do I make PREVIEW ON! as the default for all effects panels/windows?)
Now I want to Hide the Bounding Box and the Edges... but those shortcuts are now inoperable.
Photoshop allows me to hide bounding box, and the rulers, I think, when having an effect window open, why does Illustrator not permit this?
Is there an alternative other than canceling out and starting again with the view qualities changed?
Seems needlessly long winded to cut off these shortcuts just because an effects settings window/panel is open.

Basically, you can't. But you can enjoy the Scribble effect that has it on by default.
As for effects and their settings in general, I would appreciate if they were truly integrated in the Appearance palette (not just as a copy of the main Effect menu).
Illustrator still has got too many modal dialogs which hinder doing things like the bounding box example you mentioned.

At the very bottom right of the editor window click the little arrow to the right of the More button and choose Custom Workspace. Then your panels will behave the way they did in earlier versions--you can drag them out of the bin, see more than one, remove panels from The Clump, etc.

Prevent lower text from moving when accordion panels open

I tried out the Accordion Panel from Project Seven which is
really nice and works well. My only issue right now is that I would
like to prevent the rest of the text outside and below this widget
within the same column from moving. When any panel opens it causes
the contents of the entire column to shift down thus causing the
page to shift down as well.
I have tried using a new div for the content below the panels
and also a new table below but can't seem to figure out how to keep
the content from shifting. Curently I have a table cell nested and
have tried with CSS to keep it from moving but that is not working
either.

I've 2 radio buttons with values "Yes" and "No". I am opening a modal popup when clicked on "Yes" radio button. The modal popup is opening fine.
But when I click "Yes", it' s not selected. After modal popup is closed, when I return to parent page, the option "Yes" is still not selected.

For some reason in CS5 when I choose File-Open it defaults to the "List View" in Windows XP. I have set my windows so they all have the same view (Detail-View) in the Control Panel. CS3 opens in Detail-View, but all programs across the CS5 platform will default to List-View. Any thoughts on how to change that? Has any one else noticed this? Thanks!

Near as I can tell, after doing a bunch of Internet research, the dialog always defaults to list view in Windows XP. Apparently changes were made in Vista to remember the last setting, but that doesn't apply to XP.
I could not find any config settings or registry tweaks anywhere that would change the File-Open dialog behavior to put up Details view by default.
I did, however, run across a downloadable freeware utility called "FileOpenPatcher" that patches the file commdlg32.dll in Windows XP ONLY so that you will see more columns of information by default in Windows File-Open dialogs. I tested it with Photoshop Elements, which I had installed on an XP virtual machine. It apparently stuffs some values into the DLL to change the defaults, and it appears to work on XP SP3.

TabNavigator - How to change what happens when a user clicks a tab

I am using a TabNavigator in my Flex application and I'd like
to be able to change what happens when a user clicks a tab on the
TabNavigator. I'd like to be able to handle the click on the tab
myself and stop Flex from perfoming it's default actions. Anyone

I want to know how to change it so when i open a folder full of bookmarks it uses the current bookmark as the first of the group again.

Before updating from version 7 to 8 when i went into my bookmarks, and right clicked on a folder and clicked "Open All In Tabs" it would use the current bookmark that i had open as the first of these in the folder. It would then open the folder's bookmarks to the right of that current bookmark.
I can accept that it no longer opens the group to the right of the current tab easily enough. What annoys me is that it no longer uses the current tab to open the bookmarks. I would like to know how to change this option.

How to delete FXFactory presets form effect panel

I am trying to delete FxFactory plug ins that I think are leftover form a demo. I unistalled the FXF program but the presets remain in the Effects panel. They have a watermark and I do not want them there anymore...anybody know how to remove?
