I want to change my nickname in game centre but don't know where to go so pls if anyone could help me out.

You can change your computer name in System Preferences (found under the Apple menu) in the Sharing pane. At the top of the pane it will say Computer Name: PowerBook G4 15".
Note that the name can contain spaces. Mine, for example, is Ministry of Magic.
Delete the current name and enter the new name. Note that you do not have to click the edit button out to the right. That is only useful if you want to change the bonjour address on your local subnet to be something different from NewComputerName.local (where NewComputerName is the new name you just changed it to.

No, that's not true. This is one of the 'benefits' of Lion (if you want to see it that way). The OS is on a separate partition and you can reinstall the OS without another physical drive.
What you do is reboot the computer while holding down the 'option' key. From the list of disks that show up (you can release the 'option' key now), choose 'Recovery HD'.
When you get to what looks like a Desktop, choose 'Reinstall OS X Lion'. Shortly after this, you will get asked for your Apple ID. Put your own Apple ID in the box and everything should proceed smoothly from there.

You can change your computer name by going in to system preferences and into the "sharing" folder.
To add a signature to your emails you need to open email
Go into preferences at the top of email
Slect the signature tab
Create a signature format
Give the format a title in the center column
Save your work

So I just recently purchased a 2011 Macbook Pro off of Craigslist. A friend picked it up for me, installed an extra copy of Windows 8 he had for me under my name, and made sure the OSX Mountain Lion side worked fine. Somehow, after the first time I restarted OSX it would no longer boot up, but Windows worked fine. So I booted up in the recovery partition, reformatted the OSX partition, and attempted to install Mountain Lion.
The problem is that I don't have it listed under my Apple I.D. as purchased, which makes sense because the last Macbook I bought came with Leopard. I tried to buy it on the Windows side through iTunes, but I'm not able. So my question is can I just buy Mountain Lion on someone else's Mac through the App store under my I.D., and will I then be able to reinstall Mountain Lion through the recovery partition?
Or will I have to resort to resetting my Macbook Pro to factory defaults, losing the copy of Windows 8 I was given, and reverting back to the original OS, which I'm guessing is Lion?

Well, you need to log in to the App Store on a Mac, using your AppleID, and purchase Mountain Lion. Then, on the konked out Mac's Recovery Partition you'll be able to sign in with the same AppleID and download the ML installer you are now eligible to use.

First reset your Apple ID password:
appleid.apple.com
"Manage Your Apple ID"
"Forgot your password?"
Enter your Apple ID
Enter your email address
Check your email for something from Apple "Resetting your Apple ID Password", open it.
Click "Reset Your Password."
Enter new password twice (note the password rules).
Then reset your Apple ID in Game Center (iOS 6 Instructions:
Open the Game Center app.
Choose "Me" at bottom.
Scroll down
Tap "Account: [youremail]@[youremailprovider.com]
Tap "Sign out."
Then sign in with whatever Apple ID you like.

Why do the sound balance settings change every time i start up my MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4. I set balance to middle and it reappears way off to the left or right and the volume is at maximum.

I set the balance and sound levels on my MacBook Pro 10.8.4 but when I start up again the balance has shifted to one channel or the other [left or right] and the volume has become maximum. Does not always happen but frequently does. Any ideas?

You can't. If the person who receives your iMessage has your contact information in their iOS device, you will show up under your contact name. Otherwise, it will show your ID, which is your email address.
