How to change your real name in gamecenter?

Alright so, I know how to change my nickname in gamecenter, but not my real name, my nickname and real name is shown to my friends, so I'd prefer instead of my mom's name, for mine, so people can find me and recognize me. I changed my name for my apple id, online at the manage your apple id page, but it hasn't seemed to update for gamecenter, does it? Or do I just have to wait?
-Thanks

You can't.  If the person who receives your iMessage has your contact information in their iOS device, you will show up under your contact name.  Otherwise, it will show your ID, which is your email address.

  • How to change your 'computer name' ?

    I have just 'migrated' ( using the software install - by a firewire cable ) from my old PowerBook G4 to a MacBook Pro - Everything is fine except now my MacBook Pro is called PowerBook G4 15" on the start-up screen and system profiler title.
    My question is how do you change this 'computer name' ?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Ti-Powerbook/MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    You can change your computer name in System Preferences (found under the Apple menu) in the Sharing pane. At the top of the pane it will say Computer Name: PowerBook G4 15".
    Note that the name can contain spaces. Mine, for example, is Ministry of Magic.
    Delete the current name and enter the new name. Note that you do not have to click the edit button out to the right. That is only useful if you want to change the bonjour address on your local subnet to be something different from NewComputerName.local (where NewComputerName is the new name you just changed it to.
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • How to change your Administration Server password when you're locked out

    How to change your Administration Server password when you're locked out
    The Netscape server products are all managed by a single administration
    server, which gives you a web forms-based interface you can use to
    configure them, start/stop them, check their logs, and so forth.
    <P>
    There are three levels of protection that keep the general public from
    being able to get into your administration server and mess up the
    configuration of any Netscape servers you have installed:
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI> <B>Obscurity:</B> Your administration server can run on any port you'd
    like (usually something between 81 and 30,000), so if an attacker
    doesn't know what port to find your admin server on, he can't get
    into it.<P>
    <LI> <B>Host restrictions:</B> You can tell your admin server to only allow
    connections from specific hosts, and to reject all other hosts.
    <P>
    <LI> <B>Password protection:</B> Even if a user connects to your admin server
    from a valid host, he won't be allowed to get into even the first
    page unless he presents a valid username and password.
    </OL>
    <P>
    If you, the legitimate administrator of your web server, are unable to
    access the administration server (if you forgot your password or the
    admin port number or if you accidentally locked your own site out),
    then here is how to get past each of these levels of protection:
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI> If you don't remember what port your administration server is
    running on, just look in your "ns-admin.conf" file, which is in
    the "admserv" directory under your Netscape server directory.
    (For 1.x web servers on Windows NT, run "regedt32" and go to the
    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netscape\Administration" section).
    You will see a "Port" entry there that specifies what port your
    admin server is on. You can change this value if you want your
    admin server to run on a different port, but make sure you restart
    the admin server after you change the value.
    <P>
    <LI> If your admin server is complaining "Unauthorized host" when you
    try to connect to it, then you can open it up to all sites by
    going into the "ns-admin.conf" file or the "Administration"
    section of your NT registry, as described above, and deleting the
    lines for "Hosts" and "Addresses" (either one of those might not
    be present) then restarting your admin server (on Unix run
    "stop-admin" then "start-admin"; on NT go into the Services
    control panel and stop/start the "Netscape Administration" or
    "Netscape Admin Server" service). You will then be able to get
    back into the admin server, where you can then try new settings
    for your host and address restrictions if you wish.
    <P>
    <LI> If you have forgotten the password to your admin server and now
    you can't log into your admin pages, all is not lost! Go into
    your "ns-home" directory, and into the "admserv" directory under
    that. You should find an "admpw" text file containing a simgle
    line of text, something like this:
    admin:lnOVeixulqkmU
    The first part of that line is the name of your admin account
    (usually just "admin"), and the second part is your admin
    password, encrypted. Edit this file to remove the encrypted
    password so that your file looks like this:
    admin:
    Then shut down your admin server, bring it back up again, and log
    into your admin server but don't give any password. It should let
    you in, at which point you can then go to the appropriate
    configuration page to set a new admin password, and then you're
    back in business.
    </OL><P>
    Note that because it is so easy to change the admin password this
    way, it's good to periodically make certain that your admin
    password file and your web server's configuration files are not
    left world-writable, and that only trusted people have access to
    them. (By default they're not world-writable, but it's good to
    make sure of this from time to time.)

    If you mean that yu forgo the password for yur encrypted backup then you can only:
    Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
    If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

  • How to Change Journal Header name to Custom Header Name while GL Importing?

    Hello Experts,
    I am in situation where customer wanted to keep their own journal header naming conventions to imported journals in Oracle GL for custom Journal sources.
    As I know while importing journals, Oracle Creates the Journal Name based on the below mentioned logic.
    "Journal Import creates a default journal entry name using the following format:
    (Optional User-Entered REFERENCE4)(Category Name)(Currency)
    (Currency Conversion Type, if applicable)
    (Currency Conversion Rate, if applicable)
    (Currency Conversion Date, if applicable) (Encumbrance Type ID, if applicable)
    (Budget VersionID, if applicable). If you enter a journal entry name,
    Journal Import prepends the first 25 characters of your journal entry name to
    the above format"
    But then How it is possible to only allow journal header Name to be used present in REFERENCE4 excluding all other string provided by Oracle? Instead of using omitted string custmoer wanted to keep their own parameters. Example - REFERENCE4.A.B.C etc.
    Is it possible to solve this using seeded setup or modifying some hook packages or anything else?
    As far as I know there can be one workaround to be use of updating journal header name after journal import being completed successfully for custom journal source. But only fear is Oracle doesnt allow updating the base table without API. Am I rght?
    So it would be really great if anyone of you can suggest the best solution or best possible workaround.
    Thanks

  • How to change the "short name (account name?)" and home directory name?

    Hi,
    I recently purchased a new iMac and migrated account info from my MacBook Pro.  I happened to use random account name during migration without knowing it will not be easy to change the short name (account name?) and home directory name.  As a result, I am now having extremely confusing short name and home directory name on my new iMac.
    I did online search to find out how to change the two names, but I could only found somethig like "enabiling root user and....."  I have no idea what it was talking about and I don't want to take risk altering such advance set up manually.
    Please advice how I can change the short name and home directory name safely without much PC knowledge.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    There are a few ways of doing this. The easiest method is logging into the first account and copying everything to an external drive (or flash drive or whatever), which changes the permissions so that others can see the files.
    Then, login with the new account and copy the files over. Once they are copied, the correct permissions will be applied again (so other people on your computer can't access them).
    If you can't do this method for one reason or other, you can do some terminal commands to change the ownership of the files. Login to the new account. If it is an admin account, open terminal and type the following command:
    sudo chown -R -v yourusername:admin /Users/originalaccountnamehere
    That should change the ownership of the files from your old account to the new one. At that point, you can simply drag the files into place.

  • I just bought a used macbook pro 15 unibody, and would love to know how to change it's name from "previous owner's macbook pro" to "my macbook pro". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I need to know how to change the macbooks name to reflect new ownership. Thanks.

    Then you need to obtain them from the seller.  It is illegal (according to Apple) to sell Macs without the system discs that came with it.
    You can get replacement System Discs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and serial number of your Mac available.
    If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those -

    How doI change my last name on my bill and profile? Using maiden name, need to update to married name

    Yea its a good thing to update because 95% of the Time a Rep. may ask for the Primary owner of the lines and if your not that person you can't hardly do squat with it. Case in point with my With our Lines my Mom was the Primary owner and i couldn't do Anything with out them wanting to talk to her first. Getting a Phone, Making Changes, Check statuses, Heck there was one time i remember i couldn't even pay the bill not exaggerating there it was basically out of my Hands my Mom got tired of this and she changed it.. Now that i'm considered as second Owner and i can do as only my mom could there are a still a Few rare occasions that a Rep will ask for her on but for the Most of it i have free Range with the Account..  b33

    I suddenly recieved 6 'How to change your Apple ID password' emails, even though I haven't been on the Apple site in months....should I be concerned that someone is trying to use my account?

    I wouldn't be too concerned. The most likely cause is that someone is attempting to login and made a mistake in entering their Apple ID and typing yours instead. So, they are getting an error and offer to reset their password. But the email that generates is being sent to the real owner of the Apple ID they are entering, you. If you are really concerned, you can go to the Apple support site and reset your password yourself to be on the safe side.

  • Changing your organization name

    Is it feasable, or even advisable, to change your organization name in DS 5.2? We've been testing with a server and are ready to go production. It would be nice if there were a way to change the org name instead of rebuilding the machine from scratch and importing the data again. If not, no big deal. Just thought I'd ask first.

    And the answer is... (thanks to Eli Rios)
    Want to change top level domain name from o=orgname.com to o=orgname
    Changing the suffix does not require a rebuild. All it involves is creating a new suffix under the data tree, exporting your old suffix to ldif, changing all occurances of o=orgname.com to o=orgname, then reimporting the ldif into the new tree. There is nothing published on how to do this, so included the steps in more detail below:
    1. Login to admin console & open the directory server instance console.
    2. Go to Configuration tab, Right click on Data object and choose new suffix.
    3. Enter o=orgname and click ok.
    4. Go to the cmd line, under the <dsRoot>/slapd-<instance> directory.
    5. Run the following cmd:
    ./db2ldif -U -n <suffix> -a `pwd`/orgname.export
    where <suffix> is the database name of the orgname.org suffix (it should be "userRoot" though).
    6. Edit orgname.export file and replace all instances of orgname.com with orgname Then save.
    ***NOTE*** Be careful when replacing these occurances. Some ACIs may refer to host names in your domain as hostname.orgname.com and you don't want to replace the orgname.com with orgname for these matches. Otherwise your host name will be missing the last part of it's domain name.
    7. Go back to the console, under configuration tab, under data object.
    8. Right click on o=orgname entry and choose Initialize.
    9. Enter path to modified orgname.export file and click on ok.
    That should get all entries into the new database. Change whatever applications were using old suffix to new suffix to ensure that all is fine. Once you've determined that all is fine you can go back to the console and delete the old o=orgname.com suffix (or keep it as backup, whatever).
