You should just need a plug adapter for your iPad charger - both France and Italy are, I believe, 230 V 50 Hz, and on my iPad charger here in the UK it has grey writing on it that says that it takes input of 100 to 240 V and 50 to 60 Hz.

I imagine your using an iphone car charger and you see the message 'not charging' on the ipad, this message is somewhat misleading........iphone chargers typcally provide an output current of around 1amp (some third party chargers only .5amp) which is only half of the 2amp output provided by apples ipad charger. In use, once the screen is on an ipad uses around 1amp an hour which means when your using an iphone charger the battery is not charging because your using as much power as the charger can provide, hence that message appears........but at the same time your not losing any power or will be losing at a much lower rate, and once you put your ipad to sleep it does charge, only very slowly.....try leaving it plugged in overnight you might be surprised the next morning.

How are you trying to charge it? It's best charged using its supplied power brick plugged into the wall. If you're trying to charge it via USB your results will be mediocre at best since most USB ports don't put out enough power. Same results if you are using an iPhone charger for your iPad.

I work in the IT department of a major animal shelter. Our vets and techs will be using iPads to record information about the animals as they receive care. Infection control is a big concern. How should the iPads be cleaned and disinfected?

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

I got the new ipad this weekend and had problem with apple ID - thus resulting in 13 charges to my credit and debit card with itunes and nothing loading onto the ipad - does anyone have an idea as to how I can get this credited back to my accounts?

While both the iPhone and the iPad use an Apple dock cable for charging, the iPad wants a 1100 mA charger, and the iPhone charger's a 500 mA charger. USB ports on newer Apple computers can switch into 1100 mA mode, but your average computer is going to put out no more than 500 mA and, possibly, quite less (for example, an un-powered USB hub will only put out 100 mA or so, and an iPad won't charge off that). The iPad will say "not charging" if it is trickle-charging (receiving less than 1000 mA of power).
If the problem persists when using the 1100 mA iPad charger, you need to take it to an Apple store and have it serviced or replaced. Bring the iPad charger that you received with the iPad as it may be that the charger is defective and not putting out 1100 mA.
If the problem is that it charges slow because it's being connected to iPhone chargers or PCs or older Macs, then it's not a problem with the iPad. It's charging, it just takes a long time because you are using an under-powered charger.

Not enough storage space. Do you backup to icloud? When you plug your ipad into charge it backs up to icloud. Your out of icloud storage. Could be the reason.

Aside from taking it in to a certified Apple Repair shop, this may be a sign that it is dead. Or there could some kind of damage to the connectors on the charge port. I am guessing on that part because I am assuming that the other chargers you have used work for other devices. It may be time to look into buying a new one if it is dead.

My ipad 3 stopped charging, not the adapter and reboot doesn't do anything. I've tried all the tricks and different adapters and now my nearest Apple store is saying it just doesn't work and it'll be $300 to replace. Only had it 1 yr and half.

My ipad 3 suddenly stopped charging last week. I've tried different adapters, to no avail. I didn't drop it or spill anything on it. I don't have tons of apps, so plenty of memory. My husband took it to the Apple store for me and they tried charging it too even though I knew that wasn't the problem and then said it wasn't working (no kidding) and then told him it would be $300 to replace. Seeing as I've only had it for a year and a half and it cost more than twice that to begin with, I'm a little ticked that it stops charging, a problem I know is very common according the all the message boards and they want to charge me $300. I've always heard that Apple was so good to it's customers, but my iphone has been a nightmare, and now my ipad won't charge. Also, I've tried the reset options I've read about and none worked. Sorry, just really upset. I thought I was paying all this money for better quality and now I feel foolish for having done so. Anybody with any ideas I, or the genius at Apple haven't thought of?
