How to check for active internet connection in iOS device

Hello All,
Recently I've come to  know that there are some API's provided by Flex 4.6 in Flash Builder 4.6 which are not supported in iOS based devices like iPhone and iPad.
You can check the list here - http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS789ea67d3e73a8b24b55b57a124b32b5b57-7fff.html
Now I'm helpless because in my cross-platform app, I need consinuously active internet connection and if it is not available, I want to show errors.
Can any one help me about this.
Thanks for reading

  • How do I get the internet connection back onto ipad even though it connects to Wifi successfully and I have checked on my iPhone which does connect via the same wifi and to the internet?

How do I get the internet connection back onto ipad even though it connects to Wifi successfully and I have checked on my iPhone which does connect via the same wifi and to the internet?

Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make/model, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • E90 Maps w/o active internet connection

With *Maps* installed on an E90, it seems impossible to find a location or to plan a route without an active internet connection.
Is there a method to use Maps without active internet connection (like Route66 on my notebook)?
    Thanks!
    Andreas

    Hi kaon,
I checked the E90 manual online .. was curious ..
Found out that it can be done !
    Page 54:
To prevent the device from automatically downloading maps through the internet, for example, when you are outside your
home cellular network, select Options > Settings > Network > Use network > Off.

For the N95, if you select to set the Network to 'when need', then the phone will give you a chance to select the access point. Try selecting the right one -- WLAN/ Telco.
Let me know how it goes !

  • Do I have to have an active internet connection while using Audition

Do I have to have an active internet connection while using Audition?  Sometimes I will want to take it on my laptop to places where I will be unable to get an internet connection.  Will the program still work in such cases?

As long as you aren't using the Cloud for audio file storage, yes it will. I believe that it may occasionally need to "phone home" to check your credentials if you are using a CC version but only about once a month. It should warn you though I think but providing you have been using it at home in the days before you are away from the internet it should be OK.

  • Sloooow internet - Active Internet Connections??

Hi Everyone, this is my first time posting anything on here so please be gentle
My internet runs very slow. This is an intermittent problem. Right now, for example, I can browse the net without much hassle. At other times, I try to check hotmail, for example, and it simply times out after several minutes.
My internet provider did several checks and came to the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with the line and the bandwidth I'm getting.
They then asked me to go to the NETWORK UTILITY, choose NETWORK INTERFACE (en1) under INFO and then choose DISPLAY THE STATE OF ALL CURRENT SOCKET CONNECTIONS under NETSTAT. I ran this and it came up with 27 active internet connections. I have no idea what these all are. There are also many more active LOCAL (UNIX) domain sockets.
The guy on the phone told me there should only be around 10 of these active connections and that more than 10 suggest a virus or spyware. I ran some virus software and it found 0 viruses. I just spoke with Apple Support and they told me that this information was incorrect and that it only applies to a PC and that a MAC cannot get a Virus or Spyware. Their suggestion was that I TURN OFF my firewall and see if it helps with internet speed. This seems like bad advice to me.
I'm now completely stuck as to where to go from here. If anyone out there has any idea I would be extremely appreciative of some help!
    thank you in advance,
    Dylan31

Hi Dylan and welcome to the forums!
Who is your ISP? Their comment is wrong, and Apple are correct.
    Try this:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl. If you are running Snow Leopard, run Safari in 32 bit not 64 bit.)
Do you have enough RAM? Less than 1GB can cause slowness. Is your hard drive too full? Less than 15%, or 15GB, of free space can also cause slowness.
Adding DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
(An explanation of why using Open DNS is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )
Wikipedia also has an interesting article about Open DNS:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDNS
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

  • FireFox 3.6.8 & ThunderBird 3.1.2 check for updates never connects, nor does plug-in update or get plug-ins

FireFox 3.6.8 & ThunderBird 3.1.2 check for updates never connects, nor does plug-in update or get plug-ins
    I am doing several re-installs.
I installed FireFox 3.6.8 and ThunderBird 3.1.2 on a fresh install of Windows XP Home SP3 x32.
All Windows updates and IE8, etc were done first after the WinXP install.
    IE8 works fine.
Firefox can connect to the internet to view webpages, but NOT do a check for a newer version.
(by going, on the main menu at the top, to Help --> Check for updates...)
    Neither can Tbird.
    See screenshots below.
Neither Tbird nor Firefox will complete the add-ons check nor updates nor 'Browse All Add-ons' feature.
(by going, on the main menu at the top, to Tools --> Add-ons --> Get Add-ons {upper left} or Find Updates {lower right for any of the selections})
Another computer, same 'build' (different hardware, but WinXP SP3, etc) using a connection from the same router going out to the internet works fine, so it is not an overall connection problem outside of the individually affected computer.
There is not yet any anti-virus nor firewall, etc installed that could be blocking things, except for Windows built in firewall, and there is no blocking action showing. Disabling it did not solve the issue.
6 hours of searching has not found an answer. Trying some of the search results just to see has not proven to be successful.
    Thanks.

    dianej,
Try this, go to tools, add-ons, extensions. if you have more than one (the latest) Java consoles, uninstall them. You only need the latest console and it should match the Java Platform in Plugins.
I had a VERY similar problem displaying weatherunderground. It would not display the pages correctly and I would get pages of errors that stated
"window.addEvent is not a function" I spent the last two hours fixing this problem. All I did was remove the 6.0.18, 6.0.19, 6.0.20 Java consoles from my 3.6.8 Firefox. After a FF restart, no more errors.
There should be more information in FF when you update Java. No one tells you that you should go in and delete the older consoles.
    Good luck
    Mick

  • How to check for updates on SCM packages?

    Hey guys,
I wondered for some time now how to check for updates on SCM packages, i.e. -git
or -svn ones. Updates for binary packages are automatically updated by pacman,
no problem there. Checking for updates on non-SCM packages from the AUR is
easily done with one of the various helper tools available (personally, I use
    slurpy).
However, SCM packages can change without their PKGBUILD changing, so I'm not
notified that I should recompile and update them.
Is there a "proper" way of doing this? Am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance!

If your system is booting then u can say that your bootblks are installed.Usually BootBlks are present in 0 & 1 slice of UFS Filesystem
    /usr/platform/platform-name/lib/fs/ufs
directory where ufs boot objects reside.
An x86 FDISK partition for the Solaris software begins with a one-cylinder boot slice, which contains the partition boot program (pboot) in the first sector, the standard Solaris disk label and volume table of contents (VTOC) in the second and third sectors, and the bootblk program in the fourth and subsequent sectors. When the FDISK partition for the Solaris software is the active partition, the master boot program (mboot) reads the partition boot program in the first sector into memory and jumps to it. It in turn reads the bootblk program into memory and jumps to it. Regardless of the type of the active partition, if the drive contains multiple FDISK partitions, the user is given the opportunity to reboot another partition.

  • Why does Home Sharing require an active internet connection?

I have noticed when my internet goes down I have real difficulty streaming content to my Apple TV from my iMac. I can see it but I get stuck on the spinning clock. Some audio works OK but video not. This makes no sense. I shouldn't need any internet to access content on a local device.
It seems to be by design, per Troubleshooting Home Sharing (n.4) "Home Sharing requires a home network with an active Internet connection."
But why can I play music but not TV shows? And why is there not an error message instead of spin? In any case why require it at all? I reset the home wireless, and the modem. My ISP confirmed there was cable trouble at that time. When the internet went back up, home sharing worked.

Thanks for the many many replies, Apple User Community. Apple seems to have removed this requirement with the latest software update (7.0.1) for the Apple TV .

  • Unable to update devices, receiving error 3014 on iTunes, and device via wifi is stating "Not connected to the internet", when it has an active internet connection

    Hi,
I have been encountering this issue and I have run out of ideas as to what would be causing this error. On numerous apple devices for our business I will receive an error 3014 when updating a device via iTunes, and this is after the software update downloads. When attempting to update the device over wifi it states that the device is not connected to the internet, when I ensured that the device has active internet connectivity.
Our business uses a Juniper firewall, which I thought might have been the initial cause of the issue, however I have ensured that ports 80 and 443 have full traffic flow and nothing blocking it, and I've also exempted all *.apple.com websites that I could find listed online.
I have also tried deleting the host files on the computer I am using to circumvent the issue.
If anyone could shed some light on what I can do to resolve this, that would be appreciated.

    Hi evanVIT,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that issues like the one you are experiencing can be very frustrating. For this situation however, for update errors in the range of 3000-3020, I would recommend the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article. Please use the steps and information as a reference.
Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

Ok well just recently, I don't know why though but my router won't detect an active internet connection from my Cable Modem. I have my Router and Modem connected so I can play Xbox in my room. Well since my router can't detect an active internet connection now since the new Xbox update doesn't allow you to enter the encryption key anymore, I can't go on Xbox live because of it. I've tried changing the ethernet cable in different ports and it still doesn't work. If someone can please help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
FTP's and Shell scripts are OS dependant not SAP or Database dependant so there will be no change at all unless you upgrade OS too. RFC's are not afected as per guides, notes and my experience.
I´m doing an upgrade from 4.6C to 6.0 with connections with at least 10 systems and none of them had an issue during tests

How to check maximum number of connections for sender/receiver interface and for RFC's?

    Hello Vinay,
I am not sure if your answer is as simple and straight forward as i think it is. Please see my Reply as below and let me know if you need any further details:
    1. How to check connections for RFC in sap pi: Goto the RFC Communication Channel that you are using and there is an option that says "Maximum Connections" that will tell you the max connections allowed .
    2. Max connection to service interface: I did not get which exact component or object you are asking about  (in context to PI) ?
