How to check for iTunes Plus upgrades

I can't find the link to check if I can upgrade my iTunes purchases to iTunes plus. It use to be on the store's main page. Is it gone? Is there another way to check? I know that at least one of my purchases is for sale as an iTunes Plus selection but I can't find a way to upgrade.

If you don't have the iTunes Plus link in your Quick Links list, then you don't have any songs/albums that are upgradeable. I have the same problem that you described: I have some DRM versions of albums that are now available in iTunes Plus format. Yet they have never shown up in my upgrade section.
I e-mailed iTunes support about this issue. I received a response that, essentially, the new versions provided by the labels are slightly different in some way and cannot be matched to your purchase history. So you're out of luck.
If someone can shed more light on that, I would appreciate it. I'm obviously not too thrilled with that response.

    I have upgraded nearly 250 songs to iTunes Plus and have upgraded my library at every available opportunity, but I still have 155 songs that have not been available for upgrade. Many of the songs and albums that have not been upgraded are available for purchase in iTunes in the iTunes Plus format.
    Why are these songs not being made available for upgrade? I have emailed iTunes support but have not received a response. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a solution or information about if/when these purchases will be available for upgrade? Thanks!

    What can apparently happen is that for various reasons (replacement of a track in the Store with another copy, slight changes in the release identification, etc.) the link between the track and your Purchase History can break, which will result in the track not appearing as eligible for iTunes Plus upgrade even though it exists as Plus in the Store.
    What you'll need to do is contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page (there is no category specifically for this issue, so I'd suggest just picking one under the Purchases - problem area) and explain the problem to them. If you've already contacted them via this form, wait a day or two and if you don't get a reply (and if you haven't even received the automated reply you may have a spam filter blocking Apple's messages), try again.
    It may take a couple of email exchanges to get past the "form" email responses, but eventually they should work out a solution for you. You may need to provide the track name, artist and order number so they can confirm the original purchase.

  • Warning: iTunes Plus upgrades overcharging!

    The specified album upgrade price is 25% of the current album price.
    Anyway I have several albums where only a couple of tracks upgraded to iTunes Plus versions, hence when this kink is ironed out I will have paid more than 25% to upgrade these whole albums to iTunes Plus versions.
    What I think is happening is when you do a 'complete my album' the original purchases may be from a different version of the album, which 'complete by album' understands but iTunes Plus upgrade doesn't, so it treats them as individual tracks unless you initially purchased as an album.
    I have emailed iTunes support today, will see what happens.

    There are 1284 songs in my "Purchased" list, but when I hit the upgrade to Plus (on 5/30) only 71 came up.
    Here's what support initially wrote me about this:
    "Currently, only EMI content is offered as iTunes Plus content, which may explain why only 71 out of your 1500 items show up as eligible for the upgrade. We hope to make many more titles available as DRM free in the future."
    I pointed out that much of my stuff - Pink Floyd, etc. - IS EMI. They then replied:
    " I understand that you've also not been able to upgrade many of the items in your library that should be eligible for iTunes Plus upgrade.
    "Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."
    So I'm waiting. I didn't expect this launch to be perfect, so...

    FTP's and Shell scripts are OS dependant not SAP or Database dependant so there will be no change at all unless you upgrade OS too. RFC's are not afected as per guides, notes and my experience.
    I´m doing an upgrade from 4.6C to 6.0 with connections with at least 10 systems and none of them had an issue during tests

  • ITunes Plus Upgrade--No help from iTunes Support

    I appologize for this lengthy post. Believe me I have more to the story, but want to keep it as short as possible. Bottom line is I'm looking for help with iTunes plus upgrade please.
    My specific problem is getting customer support to upgrade my old iTunes songs iTunes to iTunes plus so I can use them on our new Sonos player. It’s now been almost a week since this issue arose and there has been no help in getting my problems solved. My main problem is that there is no telephone customer support for iTunes. All of the support for iTunes is now done online through emails. That is a huge issue in my mind, but not the purpose for this post.
    Here is my problem..
    I have two iTunes accounts. Account # 1 was my primary account until 2008/09 time frame when I switched from a PC to Macbook Pro. I have 314 songs from 2006-08 that were purchased on Account #1 that I'm trying to upgrade to iTunes Plus. Account #2 is now my primary iTunes account. The Account #2 songs are all iTunes plus and do not need upgrading. I now have all the purchases from both accounts on my Mac Mini serving as a HTC, but the old iTunes DRM songs cannot be played on Sonos until they get upgraded.
    My issue solely relates to my old songs on Account #1. I have been trying to upgrade my account 1 songs since last Thursday. My iTunes store account is currently logged into Account 1 when attempting the updgrade. When I first made the purchase, I got the on screen message that I’d get an email with instructions to complete the purchase. Well three days passed and I never got the email. I also noticed that my purchase of $104 showed up as three “pending” credit card charges on my bank account records. This seemed odd so I called Apple for help. Big mistake!!!!!
    When I attempted to call Apple Support I was continually given to “technical support” for either my Macbook or Mac Mini. They never listened to what I was saying. In fact one rep told me I would need to pay the $39 fee for technical support on my issue!!!! Finally, after speaking to three different individuals one of the “tech support” reps was able to contact an iTunes support rep. Note, that I could not speak to them, rather it was strictly apple employee to apple employee. I was placed on hold for thirty minutes while they worked on my issue. After thirty minutes I was told to go to the iTunes store and start over. I went to iTunes store and completed the purchase again. Shortly thereafter, I received an email response from iTunes saying:
    Dear Tom,
    Your iTunes Plus music upgrade could not be successfully completed because there was a problem with one of the items that was to be upgraded. Please return to your Upgrade My Library page and click Buy and your upgrade should be processed successfully. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your business.

    Based on this email. I went to iTunes store again and tried the purchase….again. I then got the same email response a short time later. I have attempted two other times to buy the upgrades but got no email responses at all. Late Sunday, I called Apple again and also used their online iTunes support page. I got one response late Sunday evening asking a question about error messages, I answered their question by providing them the above iTunes notice. That email late Sunday night was the last communication I've recieved from iTunes support. It’s now three days later and I’m still waiting to hear back from someone at iTunes support. All I want to do is spend 104 dollars to upgrade my 300+ songs, but no one at Apple seems to care.
    I am really disappointed in Apple’s customer service. I’ve been a fan of Apple for quite some time, between my wife and I, we have 6 Apple products in our home. The lack of customer support is really disgraceful.
    Anyone have any ideas.

    This is a follow up. Finally, after almost 72 hours, I recieved another email from the original iTunes support representative. According to her, the problem is that one or more of my songs on the account are either not eligible for the upgrade or the file is corrupted and can not be upgraded. In short I cannot use the "Buy All" feature because I will always hit this roadblock. The only way to resolve this, is to upgrade each song individually or select a few songs at a time to upgrade.
    I will have to do this until I get the song or songs that is causing the problem. Once I have identified the song(s), I can chose to repurchase them and get a refund. All songs today are at the DRM free format so repurchased songs will automatically be the upgraded file.
    So I'll now begin the upgrade of the 314 songs. I guess it could be worse.
    Okay, I got an answer and an offer of a refund, but this answer certainly could have been provided three days ago. Am I being unreasonable?

  • ITunes Plus Upgrade, Two Song Counts, Price Does Not Add Up

    When I click on the iTunes Plus Upgrade in the iTunes store, I see two song counts. One is called Total Songs, the other is called Songs. The Total Songs number is higher than the Songs number. It appears that the Song number is what can be upgraded, the actual list of songs shown below matches.
    But I'm not sure what the Total Songs number represents. It is lower than the total number of Protected AAC songs I have in my library.
    So, does anyone know what the Total Song count represents?
    Another confusing issue is that if I multiple the Songs count by $0.30 (which is the cost per song) that number is less than what the iTunes store says it will cost. I only have one video that can be upgraded, so that should only add another $0.30 to the total cost. But the total cost iTunes is showing is calculates to about 50% more songs that what it shows I can upgrade to.

    I've done some comparisons of the File Info between my DRM-Protected 'Dark Side' and 'Animals' songs and the DRM-Free versions. It turns out there are differences which might explain the trouble Upgrade My Library has in recognizing eligible albums.
    On 'Animals':

    Notice the difference in the album art and, notably, the Copyright information. This is not the same song with only quality affected. Apparently, there was some copyright changes that took place, which might critically affect the eligibility of an album or songs.

    Notice here, too, the running time of the song is different.
    All that needs to be done by Apple is a configuration of Upgrade My Library so that it will recognize these previous versions of these albums for those of us who bought it before the revision took place.

    I spent the last couple days trying to troubleshoot the frequent hangs my iMac was having. I went through a bunch of steps, including a call to Applecare, and reinstalling my OS a couple times.
    I'm pretty confident now that the hangs were related to a massive iTunes Plus upgrade I was trying to download. There were about 800 songs(!)
    Every hour or so, iTunes would hang, becoming unresponsive even to Force Quit. Other applications, like Terminal quickly followed, and then the Finder would hang. If I left it long enough the menu bar clock would stop.
    The download is over now, and so are my hangs( I hope...) It's been two or three hours now.
    Has anyone else seen this issue with iTunes in Leopard?
    I wish I could get the wasted hours back, somehow....

    Yea, I have this issue as well for one song on my upgrade list. I almost missed it as I was going to update them all. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

    You can search a FM of your requirement by putting in the Key words and searching for a FM. Like * KEYWORD * and then pressing F4.
    Say for example you need to search something regarding converstion.
    Search for * CONVERT * and press F4.
    If there is something specfic like converting date to something you can give
    DATE * CONVERT *
    OR
    CONVERT * DATE *  and press F4.
    Once you narrow down your search you will have a Function module documentation inside the Function module. Please note that all the FMs willl not have documentation.

    I wondered for some time now how to check for updates on SCM packages, i.e. -git
    or -svn ones. Updates for binary packages are automatically updated by pacman,
    no problem there. Checking for updates on non-SCM packages from the AUR is
    easily done with one of the various helper tools available (personally, I use
    slurpy).
    However, SCM packages can change without their PKGBUILD changing, so I'm not
    notified that I should recompile and update them.
    Is there a "proper" way of doing this? Am I missing something?

Regardless of the type of the active partition, if the drive contains multiple FDISK partitions, the user is given the opportunity to reboot another partition.

    Hi I'd like to roll itunes 7.02 out to my business users as we intend to deliver work related content via podcasts, but I'd like to standardise on a version.
    Is there anyway to uncheck the "check for itunes updates automatically" in the general preferences via the registry?
    I have looked can can't locate this setting but it must be there somewhere.

    You have Synergy running? What happens when you don't have it running?
    Any utility, whether a widget, an application or whatever, that controls or gets status from iTunes has the potential to launch iTunes when you don't expect. The developers try to ensure it doesn't happen but it can still happen.
