How to check hourly backups

I have a Time Capsule. Having a bit of trouble checking that itis working ok. i don't have great internet connection so have moved imac close to time capsule so i can connect by ethernet.
i can only find the daily backups. where casn i check for hourly backups.?
thanks

If the iMac is active, it will check each hour to see if it needs to backup anything that occurred in the last hour or so. If you have not added anything new, the iMac will skip the backup....since there is nothing new to back up.
Backups will not occur if the iMac is inactive or is "sleeping".
The iMac will not back up each hour unless you have been actively using the iMac for the past hour or so. Just having it on is not actively using it.
The fact that you have daily backups confirms that the Mac is backing up corrrectly, since the daily backup consolidates all the "hourly" backups from the previous day. Relax.

  • How to check iPhoto backups on TimeMachine  in Lion

    With SL there was an easy way to check the backups. There does not seem to be a way to view them in Lion. When I open iPhoto in finder then open Time Machine all I get is the iPhoto logo and size of file with no way to view the photos.

    When using iPhoto 9.1.5 or later and Time Machine with OS X Lion, iPhoto no longer has the Browse Backups option. This means that instead of restoring specific photos within your iPhoto Library, you must restore your entire iPhoto Library when restoring from Time Machine.

  • How to check RMAN backup report or log

    Hi Guys,
    I have RMAN schduled to backup my database daily.
    Please what are the steps to check the report of the backup to see what was actually backed up and if it backup up ok
    Thanks

    Use "LIST BACKUP" to display information about backup sets, proxy copies, and image copies. With LIST command you can list the following:
    - Backups and copies that do not have the status AVAILABLE in the RMAN repository
    - Backups and copies of datafiles that are available and can possibly be used in a restore operation
    - Specified archived logs, backup sets, backup pieces, control file copies, datafile copies, and proxy copies
    - Backups and copies restricted by tag, completion time, recoverability, or device
    - Incarnations of a specified database or of all databases known to the repository
    - Stored scripts in the recovery catalog
    Examples on how to use LIST command are listed below:
    RMAN> LIST BACKUP;
    RMAN> LIST EXPIRED BACKUP;
    RMAN> LIST BACKUP OF DATABASE;
    RMAN> LIST BACKUP SUMMARY;
    RMAN> LIST BACKUP BY FILE;
    RMAN> LIST ARCHIVELOG ALL;
    RMAN> LIST COPY OF DATABASE ARCHIVELOG ALL;
    RMAN> LIST COPY OF DATAFILE 1, 2, 3;
    RMAN> LIST BACKUP OF ARCHIVELOG FROM SEQUENCE 1437;
    RMAN> LIST BACKUPSET OF DATAFILE 1;You can use the VALIDATE keyword of the BACKUP command to do the following:
    - Check datafiles for physical and logical corruption
    - Confirm that all database files exist and are in the correct locations
    For example, you can validate that all database files and archived redo logs can be backed up by running a command as follows:
    RMAN> BACKUP VALIDATE DATABASE ARCHIVELOG ALL;I suggest you read Oracle® Database Backup and Recovery Manuals:

  • How to check for archivelog backup on a particular date or time?

    Dear All,
    We have RMAN full database, cumulative and archivelog backup(eg location: Diskgroup A) scheduled on a regular period basis. Assume archivelog location is Diskgroup B. The diskgroup B became full and unable to archive further, since no space. Unable to connect to database, connect internal only until freed error. alert log also shows that archiver error. So the solution for this to clear some space in diskgroup B by removing some old archive logs. In our environment, everyday the archive logs are stored in a separated folder arranged in date wise.  I can do that . But before clearing some space, i need to make sure that the folder( or any date folder what im going to delete) is backed up or not. How to check that? Any idea please?
    eg: i have archivelogs like this in folders
    01_11_2013/
    02_11_2013/
    03_11_2013/
    04_11_2013/
    05_11_2013/

  • Project server 2013 how to check work hours per hour per project

    Hi all,
    I would like to know how to check the total work hours for a project per month. For examples, I want to know all the work hours for all resources spent for the project A in August. Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
    If you don't want to write queries, I'd suggest you to simply open the project unchecking the option "load resources summary assignments" and go to the task usage view. Then display the project summary task and choose the monthly timeframe ("view"
    tab) for the timephased part of the screen (right part).
    Hope this helps,

  • How to Check System Preference Settings with Time Machine

    I just found and fixed a problem caused by a bad System Preference/Universal Access
    setting and would like to go back in my Time Machine backup to see where the
    error was made. I may have been too quick to blame the 10.5.3 update on the
    problem so wanted to look back in time.
    The problem is i don't know how to check System Preferences using the Time Machine.
    Any suggestion?

    If you're looking for specific settings, the short answer is you cannot. You can open the .plist files and try to find the specific option you're looking for, though it might not be too easy to decipher some of the contents of the .plist file. For the most part they're just lists of attributes and settings. For instance, here's a very small chunk of my Finder .plist file:
    <key>All Images.cannedSearch</key>
    <dict>
         <key>SidebarWidth</key>
         <integer>162</integer>
         <key>ToolbarVisible</key>
         <true/>
         <key>ViewHeight</key>
         <integer>1116</integer>
         <key>ViewStyle</key>
         <string>icnv</string>
         <key>WindowBounds</key>
         <dict>
              <key>bottom</key>
              <integer>1200</integer>
              <key>left</key>
              <integer>56</integer>
              <key>right</key>
              <integer>1920</integer>
              <key>top</key>
              <integer>84</integer>
         </dict>
    </dict>
    <key>AnimateInfoPanes</key>
    <true/>
    <key>AnimateSnapToGrid</key>
    <string>true</string>
    <key>AnimateWindowZoom</key>
    <true/>
    Each "key" is followed by an attribute, so for instance the "SideBar Width" key is given the "Width" integer attribute of 162. However, some keys have multiple entries, such as the "WindowBounds" key having sub-keys of "bottom", "left", "right", and "top".
    These values are finder preferences, though are not accessible via the finder's preference settings. However, buried deep in the Finder's .plist file are some of the user-editable settings:
    <key>ShowHardDrivesOnDesktop</key>
    <true/>
    <key>ShowMountedServersOnDesktop</key>
    <true/>
    <key>SidebarSearchesSectionDisclosedState</key>
    <false/>
    If you can find the attribute you're looking for, then that may help you narrow down which version of a .plist file to restore, though not all of them are straightforward legible text. Some have bizarre strings of seemingly random characters that only the application can interpret.

    Forget the Pendrive stategy...
    Before attempting any Major Upgrade... get yourself an External Hard Drive... and create a Bootable Clone Backup of your current Hard Drive...
    By far the easiest way to make such a Backup, is to use something like
    SuperDuper  http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
    or CCC  http://www.bombich.com/
    That way, should anything untoward happen during the Upgrade,
    you will NOT LOSE ANYTHING.
    (Get an EHD that is at least equal to your current Drive...)
    Also, Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using...
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
    You should also consider more RAM... Get the Maximum you can for your Mac...
    It is important to get the Correct and Matching RAM

  • How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used in vCSHB installation?

    How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used during the installation of vCSHB?  Is it required in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? Is it used to create the files that are put in the file share for the second node to use during vCSHB installation or is it only used during a vCSHB clone operation of a Physical to Physical deployment?  Are these tools not used in some deployments?

    You need Windows Server Backup installed on source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will invoke the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will backup configuration and application data (application data is optimal but can decrease the sync time after installation of secondary node). On the secondary node you will need only run the vCSHB installer and everything will be restored.
    Check this blog entry for some more info about some problems in P2P deployment: http://www.vcoportal.de/2013/12/vmware-vcenter-server-heartbeat-restore-on-a-second-node-a-journey/
