How to check if a computer is in the network
Hello,
i want to send a simple "ping" to a TCP-IP-adress an receive the result if the IP is available.
Is there a easy way to to this in LV or do i have to to it over Start->Run->CMD ?
Thx
Hello NewOne,
this may help you.
(You don't need the 'local' comparison, it's for personal usage)

Son Mac Maillan Walker,
Niel is correct, so if remote access is a possibility, you can use that.
However, the reason people usually ask your question is that the computer in question is inoperable or has been discarded. If that is where you are, then you cannot deauthorize.
When you reach 5 authorized computers, you can use the "Deauthorize All" command, and then just reauthorize the ones you want. -

How can I make my computer only recognize my network and not that of one of my neighbors? This is for when I am at home, and everytime the computer goes to sleep it essentially loses the connection, only to pick up my neighbors network when it is awaken.
I am on Comcast (Xfinity) Highspeed Cable wireless modem/router
Thanks in advance!

NO LONGER ABLE TO UPLOAD "NO CONFIGURED COMPUTER FOUND ON THE NETWORK" ????
I am stumped because I have uploaded pictures for a long time with no trouble to my computer and it doesn't matter what program software I use whether its Picasa or I photo or any other I assume, I get this message:
"no configured computer found on the network"
and if I use and flash drive it says:
"device selected is not active."
No matter what method I use on my MAC Tiger and no matter what program whether its Picasa or Iphoto and where i try to load them from whether its a camera or a card reader or through the slot on my printer, i keep getting the message "no configured computer found on the network" and if I use and flash drive it says device selected is not active.
I don't get it. I've uploaded pictures all kinds of times to my computer without this trouble. Where do i need to look, I assume at the computer because it doesn't matter which method I use to load them the computer doesn't work.
software, computer, hardware, what????I'm sorry, I apologize, I left a follow-up here when I realized it was DUH not connected with my cable? Like what an idiot. I don't have enough ports and so I had unplugged it.
I know I left a followup but maybe it wasn't saved. Again, sorry. Thanks for your response. -
How many second can Oracle TNS endure on the network unstability?
Hi there,
Recently the network at our office is very unstable. So the problem between WAS server(WAS1, WAS2) and Oracle DB server(DB).
Sometimes the connection from WAS server to DB server is broken suddenly. In other case the connection is still alive after network unstability.
Is there any TIMEOUT to achieve the disconnection? How many second can Oracle TNS endure on the network unstability?
Best regards,Hi,
Try setting SQLNET.OUTBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT in your SQLNET.ORA file to a higher value.

How to check if my computer is compromised?
Please suggest what programs should i run in order to check if my computer is compromised?
While a good method of removing adware or seeing if your computer has any
will not work in an older OS X version such as Snow Leopard, you can try a
few other suggestions from The Safe Mac site. I've included links to several
items there, all free information, plus newer and therefore not applicable
Adware Medic that is for a newer OS X than you have, among these:
•Adware Medic: runs free... from thesafemac:
http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
The older Adware Removal Tool uses a script;
alternative methods to find & remove any of
the malcontents acquired from the internet or
from file downloads of 'free' content can be found
in the Guides following this one...

•Adware Removal Guide:

•Mac Malware Guide:

•Mac Performance Guide:

Scanning and other software is generally not advised, nor are many
of the scam 'cleanmypc' kinds of efforts to ruin your OS X. Anti-virus
is generally to be avoided, since only a few can be of help to OS X.

I have a problem with the network being kicked off when any Apple device is stopped and then restarted--even if it is just in sleep mode for a few minutes. My MacBook Pro and iPad do this all the time. My husband has the same problem with his iMac. We have checked the network and the internet service. We have no idea how to fix this. It did not do this until recently, so we think it must have something to do with an update to the software, but it drives us nuts! If anyone has information to fix this, we would really appreciate it!
Thanks!Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

How to check that concrete object is on the scene?
Hi
I wonder how can i check that concrete object is on the scene for example:
var sprite1:Sprite = new SPrite();
stage.addChild(sprite1);
if(?????)
//do something with sprite1
else
//add sprite1 to display list and do something with it
Is there any property or method to check this?If you mean that the object exists, you can try...
if(sprite1)
trace("it exists");
else
trace("it's not here");
otherwise, if you mean you want to know if it's on the display list, you need to go thru the display list to see if it's in there...
var child:DisplayObject;
var spriteFound:Boolean = false;
for (var i:uint=0; i < stage.numChildren; i++)
child = stage.getChildAt(i);
if(child == sprite1){
spriteFound = true;
if(spriteFound){
trace("it's on display list");
} else {
trace("it's not here"); -
How to check up Integrity of basis on the server ?
How to check up
1. Integrity of basis on the server
2. Presence of necessary fields in bases
Why ask ?
There is for a long time imported in ZCM station XP.
In properties of agent ZCM at this station I see that all politicians are applied successfully.
In the https://zcmserver | ws Xp_KAP| Relationships | Assigned Policies | Inherited
for Dynamic Local User Policy "01UsersRightsDLU" Deployment Status = Unknown.
If remove (unreg) from ZCM this WS and import Again - all properies will be OK...

Sorry. I shuould have spotted that myself. The command you entered is wrong. You entered:
/opt/zdc # ./zdc verify -b /var/opt/novell/zenworks/database/zenworks_AMI_COMPANY_ZONE.db
Should have been:
/opt/zdc # ./zdc verify -b /blabla/zcm_10.x.x.zdc
Ie you enter the full path to the baseline file, not the database for -b

How can i stop my computer from losing the wi-fi link
My computer keeps "losing" the wi-fi in my home and making me sign in over and over. It recognizes the network and doesn't require me to give the password for the network, but it asks me for the password required to make network changes. It has done this for a couple of years now. It is inconsistent. About half the time, it works fine, but then it will say your preferred network is not available. Then it will show that network as the only one available and require the password for making network changes again. I have gone into the network utility and "locked" it after making the changes, but it doesn't make any difference.
If it's happening after a period of shutdown and a startup, then try only sleeping the Mac Mini instead of shutting it down. (Besides, sleeping a Mac is easier on the hardware and perfered over shutting down)
For example: my Mac's only get shut down when I go away for more than a couple of days and can sleep for weeks without any problems. -
How to check if user is part of the specific OU in Active Directory
Hi :
We are trying to check if user is part of the specific OU or not , to do this I am invoking "Get Object Property Value"
since if user is part of that OU in that case it should be able to get that property .
However this activity is failing and not able to search for any proeprty , below is the snapshot of workflow which
I have created for this , I am logging to cisco.com domain for this .Hi Anil
You can run the "Get User Distinguished Name" action. This uses the login CISCO\username in your case to return the distinguished name which you are inputting including its OU.
You could then run the get object property with the input LDAP path being the results from the Distinguished Name.

I have an IMAC that runs OX 10.6.7. I use NEtgear for wireless. I have a laptop and Ipod that I use on the wireless. Recently, my desktop computer shows that it is searching for the wireless system (on the router). I contacted Netgear. They talked me into buying another router and their technical contract. Nothing is working. I can plug my 5200 modem directly up to my desktop , and the network is fine, but the wireless, of course, is not plugged in. When I go to connect the wireless, it doesn't work. This is not a computer program per se, nor is it a router program because sometimes it will work. It seems to me that the computer and router are not working together to hold the settings.
I have attempted to download the latest software for my computer, i.e., Imac graphics fireware. Each time I try, it says that the extensions are not valid for my computer.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, VickiImac graphics fireware.
Did you mean to say firmware? You should only install firmware updates when offered to you via Software Update; other than that, whatever is offered is not appropriate for your model.
As for your Netgear router - I have a Netgear and set it up manually on their web interface setup site (the address should be in your manual). Did you call your ISP so they will recognize that there is a router involved? Sometimes my iMac also does not want to communicate with the router; however, my Macbook and printer have no problem. I solved the problem by connecting things this way:
cable from wall to modem > cable from modem to router > cable from router to iMac. The other things are wireless.
