How to check Unicode

Hello,
I am an ABAPER and new to SAP Basis world. I want to check if my system is Unicode compliant or not.
I went to SM51, Put cursor on the system and pressed button Release Notes. It shows up under kernel level info. But, the most surprising part is it is diff for diff users.
One of the user gets Library not uploaded, some can see 2.6.1 Unicode version 4.0.
Is this the right place to see the Unicode info. If yes, why is it diff for diff users. If I see ICU Version 2.6.1 Unicode Version 4.0 does this mean I am Unicode compliant?
Can someone tell me how to look if my system is Unicode or Non-Unicode system.

I assume you're running with the default options;
Unchecked the following ones;
Check only programs where the Unicode flag is unchecked
Include only Objects with Object Repository Entry(TADIR)
Exclude $* Packages
And check this one
Check modified SAP objects also

How to use UCCHECK to check unicode ?

Hello,
We need to pass unicode soon so we are executing transaction UCCHECK in our system.
We don't know really what to put in the selection screen so we put * in all parameters and set checkboxes in order to take the maximum objetcs possible.
We saw the documentation but it is not clear for us.
We obtain a very long list of programs in error or in warning, and some other correct.
Could you tell me if :
We need to execute uccheck with the selection I describe you ?
Do we need to correct only the errors ? or also the warnings ?

This is the procedure,
1. Take all objects list from old production(follow this list only).
2. Check unicode checks active one by one(better in stead of using UCCHECK)
3.Correct the errors.
4. Neglect warnings.
5. Activate the objects.
6.Go to Unit testing.
Note: Do not save all objects in under single request, that will create problems to u while moving.

How to check a one character long NSString, to see if it falls between the range A-Z? including upper and lower case.

I think for anything Unicode, the meaning is self-defining. By this I mean "Marks" are the set of characters they have grouped together and called "Marks". I found this site that explains the categories. A German eszett ß is actually a lowercase character, not a mark. It seems that the Marks are special combining characters in Arabic, Hebrew, Tamil, etc.
The key thing to keep in mind is that MacOS X is designed to work in all of those languages. So, if you are writing code to "check for lowercase", you have to realize that there are literally thousands of lowercase letters. You should probably have a graceful way to handle ß and similar characters. One thing I have done in the past is just substitute some special character for anything that isn't strictly "a-z". That way, regardless of the input, I know what the output will be. That worked for my particular application, but it isn't appropriate in all or even most applications.

The database structure has been modified - how to check if it happend?

I have a question. How to check if the database structure has been modified? I know that there is shown a messagebox after creating table and adding some fields, but sometimes this message appear after some seconds. The problem is that I want to create table and UDO for this table, and until database structure is not modified I got an error message. If I wait and DB strucuture modifies then UDO is creating correctly.
My question is - does anyone know how to check if database structure has been modified?

Hi Szymon,
I guess you are stuck up in a kinda scenario, where in, you will be populating a form with values, before the structure modifies, if this is going to be your problem, I can help you out with a work around.
In the beginning of the process, before the creation of the UDO or tables, set a boolean value to false, and once all UDO's and Tables are created, only then, should you make it true and only after the boolean becomes true, you should proceed with populating the values from the screen.
I really ament sure what your problem is, but one of my guys faced this problem, I then, thought even you might have a similar problem.

External reservation system In the Travel Planning subcomponent Travel Management accesses an external reservation system connected to R/3 to carry out the queries on available travel services and to book the selected services. The reservation system currently available is the AMADEUS Global Travel Distribution system.

After OPEN DATASET statement check if sy-subrc = 0 if its success then proceed with split statement and save the dataset values into a internal table and while debugging the internal table you will find that whether all values get into internal table.
Checking sy-subrc after OPEN DATASET statement is must to fill up the values in the internal table.
For e.g.
OPEN DATASET p_inpfile FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.

Check through FBL1N vendor line item display, here you can check for the vendor libality generated during invoice (MIRO) posting once you get into the t-code FBL1N select the radio button open items only in line item selection give your vendor account, company code date (Key day at which the line items are open till now), and execute.
In the report screen to help your self you can search using crtl + F and put reference as serach criteria.
You will see the non cleared item the Status indicator tells you the line item is not yet cleared.

You can search a FM of your requirement by putting in the Key words and searching for a FM. Like * KEYWORD * and then pressing F4.
Say for example you need to search something regarding converstion.
Search for * CONVERT * and press F4.
If there is something specfic like converting date to something you can give
DATE * CONVERT *
OR
CONVERT * DATE * and press F4.
Once you narrow down your search you will have a Function module documentation inside the Function module. Please note that all the FMs willl not have documentation.
