How to Checklist....ECC 6.0 & BW 3.5

Hi All, We are upgrading 4.6C to ECC 6.0 & simultaneously doing BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 but the BW golive is 1 week after R3, so we need to test the BW 3.5 environment with ECC 6.0 to make sure the BW 3.5 is supported with ECC 6.0 for that week. I looked at the forum but couldn't find any checklist that we can use to validate the compatibility. kindly provide some details. thanks

How to Update ECC when there is error in Receiver channel

Hello Experts,
I have a query like how to inform ECC when there is a error in Receiver channe.My interface is ABAP PROXY to JDBC in ECC moni message is through in PI moni also message is through but in Receiver JDBC Channel is in error saying for a particular column the data is not valid.
In this case directly PI should send the error in channel to ECC that payload has invalid data for this field will it be possible?

implement logic in ABAP proxy to push data when validation check is correct, this is right approach to perform validation.
Even we can achieve this in PI Mapping.
Create ALERT rule for this interface and forward CC errors to ECC Team.

How to map ECC Infoset Query to Crystal Report

Hi All,
I am using 25 standard SAP crystal reports which have been mapped on the top of ECC system. Some of reports are working well but some are not working due to unable to find query. The name of the report is Controlling Dashboard report and it has CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 query which I was unable to map on ECC using Crystal Report. I do not knw how to map ECC table infoset to Crystal report.
Can anybody assist me to get solution?

I am experiencing the same issue:
unable to get this infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 in Crystal Report which is made on the top of ECC
I followed the BI quick guide as well, I am on EPH 4 and I am able to see both the Query Infoset CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 and its related Infoset /SREP/CO_OM_CCA_20.
But unfortunately, it wouldn't let me update the connection approprietaly.
Is this something you can assist me with?

Hi,
you can create your own condition object(r3ac5), and in the new object > (tables/structures) tab change the condition table (A-)
please be noted that the table (KONW) which pass the scales, exist by defualt
u have to execute your object to replicate the data, and to be konwn your 2 objects which had run just for customzing not for data

How to download ECC customers without Sales Office and Sales Group values

Dear all,
In SD Customer master record we enter Sales Office and Sales Group fields under Sales Area tab-->Sales Tab.
While downloading customers form ECC to CRM, How can I exclude this Sales Office and Sales Group Data from the download.
I want to download customers without this sales office and Sales group data...Kindly suggest me how can I do this.

I have removed 'Object Permitted in determination' checkbox for all Sales Offices, but still the problem persist.
I am getting following problem in SMW01 while downloading customers.
"Sales office O 50000004 sales group O 50000057 not maintained for sales area O 50000001 C5 Z0
Message no. CRM_BUPA_FRG0140204."
This problem is coming for all customers, so I though of excluding Sales Office and Sales groups from downloading.
Can we use Filters functionality for this, if so what sort of settings need to be maintained for Customer_Main object in R3AC1 transaction.
Please suggest, your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Currently we are on ECC 6.0 SR2 ABAP stack only
We are planing to upgrade to EHP4 .
Is Java stack mandatory for EHP4 ? If yes what in documents i need to go through....
If JAVA stack is not required, How hosuld i update to EHP4.

If Java is required or not depends on your scenario. If you only use the ABAP part now and you don't plan any other scenarios then Java is not required.

How to link ECC Company code with BCS Consolidation unit

I have to create new consolidation unit in BCS, parallelly in SAP R/3 also I have created a company code.
I could read following in the forum :-
The Company Codes from ECC are assigned to the characteristic Company in BCS, thus creating a one to one relationship between ECC & BCS company codes.
BUT HOW TO DO THE SAME.
Also any advise on Profit centre and cost centre etc in BCS in line with ECC. This is first time I am configuring in BCS,

Typically in ECC company codes are assigned to a company. The company is typically used for cons unit in BCS, but it is not uncommon for company code to be used as cons unit.
When company code is used, it is an attribute of the characteristic company and thus in the load mapping, the company is mapped to the attribute company code. This results in company code being mapped to company.
Otherwise, if company code is in the databasis as the cons unit role, then it is simply mapped to company code to company code.
For profit center and cost center, these are typically assigned the role subassignment, but it is not uncommon for profit center to be a cons unit for a matrix consolidation. However, these characteristics must first be included in the totals/databasis infocube.

How to Use ECC function Module

Hi Experts - We need to execute the function module in ECC and need to write data in Oracle table.
We are using BODS 4.0.
How to use function module in data flow ? how it can work as a source ?
I just need some basic steps how to use function module as a source and do the transformation to target.

Hi Ashwani,
It is still not possible to use a FM as a source in DS.
You can use a FM in a transformation but you have to start from a file or table as a source and load into a target (a FM can not be an end point of a dataflow - as it is used in the transformation and each transformation requires a source and a target.
The scenario I described above was based on a situation where you have a source (flat file or table) and want to use a Function Module to transform your data and/or load the data in a transparant table in SAP.
Your scenario is different, as your source is not a table/ff but a FM.
In your case, I can see two scerio's:
- Use an ABAP dataflow. Although I haven't got any experience with this I do believe this would be an option for your scenario. Please referer to the Data Services documentation on ABAP dataflows for further guidance.
- As suggested earlier, you can create a bespoke (BW) Datasource based on a Function Module. Please refer to SAP help for creating a generic datasource:

Depending on your scenario there might be a third option:
- Use a SAP transparant table as a source. Create a transformation into the designated Oracle table. In the transformation call a FM which executes whatever logic you require. This solution will work if you have a table which produces the same number of records as your FM. If your function module produces more or less records (than there are in the transparant table), then this might become a bit tricky. It might work, but I have never tried it.
Instead of a transparant table you can also use a table join, obviously. Perhaps part of the complexity of your FM could be resolved by using a join and you can create a new simpler FM for the remaining logic?

I have a query....
I have just downloaded ECC 6.0 SR3 software.
Now there are 6 export files which I have downloaded,5 of them have extension .rar and the sixth one has extension .exe
So how should I extract them....also during installaton it asks for path of 3 export CD's....but I have 6 of them...so how to proceed

Hi Rohit,
Keep all the files in one directory and double click on exe file. This will automatically uncar all the 5 files and make two sub folders.
While running sapint, this will ask for two installation export folder and you provide the path for respective sub folders.

Hi Sneha,
The only logic, i guess, that could be used is either defining the join fields or some restriction put in the selection conditions tab of the view. for e.g. if the view should only return Doc type XYZ, the same could be implemented in selection conditions tab. for transaction to check the view, it was already posted above.

u can use the alert abap function module to raise an alert which occurs in ECC system.
but i m not sure how u will catch the errro and pass the error message to the alert FM for raising an alert.
We have done some validation in Function module based on inputs and triggered an alert using the function module.

How to install ECC IDES in RED HAT linux version 5

I would like to install ECC IDES in linux OS. I dont know Linux. So it is difficult for me to install.
I am having 500 gb HD.and in that 30 GB allocated as NTFS for WinXP.
Left space(470 GB Free) for linux and ECC IDES.
I want to know - how to partition this 470 GB in linux. I dont know which file system should be allocated and how it should be partitioned. I am using RED HAT LINUX Version 5.

Get the official installation guides at

However, they won't contain "now enter command X and now enter command Y". You will need to have a basic understanding what you are doing before you can install a SAP system (and the database).

How do I avoid install standard DB import because I want to use DB from another system, so I don't need to install DB import. But ECC 6, not like R/3 4.6C, I can't find a choice to install CI only, why?

This is possible...From the Installation Master you have to select the Distributed System Option(SAP ERP 6.0 SR..->SAP System -> Distributed System - > Based On AS ABAP) not the Central System.There you can select the Database Instance/Central Instance.
