How to choose printer during WO printing?

Hi Experts,
In our system when someone chooses print from WO, system sends it directly to the default Windows printer without possibility of choice from other printers installed in Windows.
Is it possible to enable SAP prompting to choose particular Printer at the beginning of WO's printing?

Hi thyagarajan,
I'm using IW32 for WO printing. I choose "Order->Print->Order" from Main menu.
Regarding customization and user settings:
1. In transaction SU3 no output device is added
2. In transaction OID3 output device for Work Orders is set to "LOCL". I have tried to delete it but after that i wasn't able to print at all.
Please advice me where else can be the settings responsible for that SAP always sends printout to default Windows printer without possibility to choose particular printer.

I am having trouble ordering prints through iPhoto v.7.1.1 Every time I choose order prints, the scroll bar hangs up at the very last MB or last image or upload and just sits. My only choice is to cancel and try again. I've cut down my order size considerably and the still the same thing happens. Any suggestions?

I think your problem is a damaged colour profile.

Hi,
I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.

How can i choose a lower quality print density when printing from firefox on my Mac. I cant move the slider along the scale ( I can when printing from the computer).

I can't change the print density when printing from Firefox. It is set at standard and although there is a "slider button" to use for choosing less or more density, it can't be moved. I can tick "grayscale". I can choose the density when printing from the computer. I have a Mac

I also have this problem where I used to be able to shrink a 2 page doc to a single page. Since upgrade to FF4 it no longer works - but you can choose say 60% and it will work. All used to work fine in FF3

How does one actually compare the outputs of different printer models to see if they are acceptable?
Most stores don't seem to be setup to print real documents or images. They have the demo images.

That's a really good question. Many devices are compatible to varying degrees with MacOSX. I usually browse the Apple Store just to see what manufacturers are friendly.
BDAqua's links on cartridges are very important.
1. I buy printers separate from any other device. If the probability of my printer's running for 3 years is 0.7, the probability of a 3-item combo is 0.343!
2. Small offices need LaserJets, which consume electricity. Inkjets print equally well and make great photos, but are slower. My Mac shuts down after a few minutes of non-use, as does my HP Deskjet 5550.
3. Drivers & Toolkits. However, my inkjet will start up from off (like my television) only if I use GNU/Linux. So, drivers that address all the frills and toolkits for cleaning cartridges & such are important. (I use the provided driver, CUPS HPIJS, and CUPS GutenPrint; but none start it up, as GNU/Linux does.) HP has lots of software support, but its cartridges are tiny, expensive things with colors glued together. It does have a pure black cartridge for text, at US$6000 a liter or so. Cartridges are aligned automatically when paper is replaced, ink level indicator works, &c.
4. Extra attachments. I chose this printer because it prints on anything (including artist's canvass), it uses longer-lasting 'paint' rather than light-sensitive 'dyes' for its photos (though dyes look better, I'm told), and it comes with an optional duplex device, for printing PDF books on both sides. It does envelopes and thin cardboard to glossy photo paper in about 20 sizes.
I'm not advocating HP by any means; just suggesting some things to check on in addition to the dpi, which is pretty standard among printers. BDAqua's cartridge links are very, very important if you do much printing.

PS. I create several virtual printers. Rather than use 'Presets', I just change the paper in my printer and print to that virtual printer using CUPS. (Takes a long time to set up; but then you don't have to worry about it again.)

I am needing a printer for my macbook pro. Would like a multi-function laser printer that will print wirelessly. In reading the reviews on the Apple site, most of them are bad and talk about not working with the operating system. I will be using it for printing shipping and mailing labels, and general use printing. Does anyone have a printer that they would recommend? Your help is appreciated.

My old Brother printer has churned out 60,000 pages and is still going strong. And it has worked without problems on every OS version since 10.4. That model is no longer being sold, but i would recommend the Brother brand without reservation.

URL, title etc of webpages do not print on pages printed off internet despite selecting these in header/footers in page set up. How do I get URL etc to print on the page?

No matter how I try I cannot get the URL of a webpage or other options such as page title, date etc to print if I print up a webpage. I have done the necessary selections in file>page setup>headers & footers choosing the options from the drop downs. I have even tried making top or bottom margin bigger thinking there was not space on the page. This is still the case if I try to print to different printers.
Is there something I am missing that needs to be done via some other setting or menu item?

Unplug the USB cable. Now go to Start > All Programs > Hewlett-Packard > Deskjet 3050 > Add a Device. Run the program and choose Wireless as the installation type.
Follow the directions. It will ask you to connect a USB cable temporarily. Do not connect until it asks and remove it when it tells you.
Finally, when you are done, go to Control Panel > Devices & Printers and delete the USB instance of the printer so you don't get confused when printing.

How can I set 'Adobe PDF printer' as one of my printer choices?

I've given it half an hour. Can't seem to figure out how I can set 'Adobe PDF printer' as one of my printer options. I'm not sure if I need to download an Adobe file, and what folder I might need to place it in, and if I also need to add a specific driver.
I'm trying to create a PDF file that printers and outfits like www.lulu.com will accept. Printing an MS Word document via 'Adobe PDF printer' will allow me, I'm told, to produce a suitable PDF file.
Ideally I'm producing the original document in Pages - but I've been told by printers and lulu.com et. al. that no one out there likes PDF's produced by Pages ("not professional").
Any suggestions you might have would be most appreciated...

You're in the right folder when you see other joboptions files already in the Settings folder.
Next, launch Pages and open your document.
From the File menu, select Page Setup. In that window, select Adobe PDF 7 for "Format for," choose your paper size, orientation and scale % and click OK.
From the File menu, select Print
In the Print window, be sure the Printer is Adobe PDF 7
Click on Layout for a pop down list and select PDF Options
To the right of "Adobe PDF Settings" click for a pop up list and select Lulu
Click Print

Both crash during print dialog - changing printer causes instand crash. My system printed fine before the crashes yesterday. I can print from the Stickies app and safari printed fine. I did a full Shutdown/restart and that didn't work. Ideas on how to get PPT files to print again or print from firefox??

Quantity of labels to be print during good receive

Hi experts!
I have a problem with the quantity of labels to be print during good receive.
The point is the following =
-Material Master - Basic Unit of measure "Liters"
-Purchase Order - is created with Basic Unit of measure "Liters"
-Good Receive - I receive for example 20 liters, but stored in 2 drums for 10 liters each. As I store the drums, I want to print 2 labels, one for each drum.
How can I do that?

I understand your requirement. There is no customization for this requirement. If you make 2 GR, then you get 2 labels. But practically it is not possible. And you need labels to paste is on drum. I will tell you what we have done. It may help you also.
Ask you abaper to give page break for every quantity when it comes to Drum in the script or smart form by a logic. So that no of drums = number of pages.
Make only for required unit of measure not for all

During creation of 57F4 Challan in J1IF01, in Basic Data Tab Page, scroll down the screen, you will get a check box of "Print immediately" just activate it before saving, it will print the Subcontracting challan once you save it.
And to re-print the same go to J1IF11 and activate this indicator again and save.
Configuration Checks: -
SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Business Transactions > Subcontracting > Subcontracting Attributes > Check whether Subcon Output Type - J1IF is maintained here.
Also check in M706 - For Output Type - J1IF should be in place.
Note: - There is no need of maintaining condition record for output type J1IF in MN21 and also no need to do any further configuration.
Maintain printer in the SPRO - IMG - MM - Inventory management - Output determination - printer determination.- printer determination by plant / storage location ( OMJ3). Here for the application area ME, condition type J1IF, assign the printer.

You can set up your printer for wireless pretty easily if you have the Full Feature Software installed on your computer for your printer. The setup is done as part of the installation.
Read through below, then select how you wish to proceed. There is a video to assist - see below!
Install Printer Driver / Software
If your printer stops working (and it’s not a hardware problem), it may be due to software or driver issues. There are tools to help you diagnose the problem and help documents to guide you to success.
You might just desire extra features for your printer, or need extra tools to help with scheduled maintenance.
In many cases, you can (re)install the Full Feature Softwarefor your printer to enhance its capabilities. The HP Solution Center is an integrated part of the FFS. For e-print, you will want the e-print software.
If you have the CD that came with your printer, use that to install your Printer software -- IF the CD is compatible with your current Operating System. If you do not have the CD, or if the software on the CD is outdated, then you can use the online installation tools.
(Re)install the basic driver or HP Printer Full Feature Software or other software for your printer:
Drivers control hardware connected to the computer (wired or wireless)
Software controls the programs that interact with the User
Go to the top of the forum page to Support and Drivers

Enter your Printer Model information, and then go to Software and Drivers...
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu... Click NEXT and Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the appropriate Basic Driver, e-print, or Full Feature Software, as appropriate
NOTE: You may also wish to download the Print and Scan Doctor and / or other Tools from Category - Utilities
Save the *.exe installation package(s) on your computer
Pay attention to the name and the location of the file(s) when you save the file(s). The file(s) will likely save to the "Downloads “folder.
You may remove your existing printer software with the following tool. Fixit is of particular use when the existing printer software is being replaced due to severe problems with the printing program.
Fixit -- Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
NOTE: If you have a recent working version of the Full Feature Software on your computer, you may opt to skip removing the existing printer software in the above separate step. During installation of your Full Feature Software, when the installer package detects the “old” printer software on your computer, the program will ask you to remove that old software: The program will then invoke an internal printer software removal program that is written to remove printer software. Once most of the old printer software is removed, you will be asked to Reboot your computer and log back in. After you log in, the final bits of the old printer program(s) are deleted and the new software will be installed. Depending on your system, the whole uninstall and install process might take as much as eight to twelve minutes.
Remember to Install the programs from Category Utilities first, if applicable, as these are smaller in size.
Install the downloaded Printer Software package last.
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.
NOTES:
If using: Download and install the driver software before connecting a USB cable.
After the initial installation is complete, be sure to check for and install any relevant updates - check Category - Update. The Updates are important and can mean the difference between software that works as expected and software that does not work.
You may also wish to check for a Category named Firmware. Installation of any package in this Catagory is personal choice and must be based on the contents in the package and whether or not your printer is working as expected.

How do you disable cmd-p printing from finder?

You can print directly from the finder by pressing command-P when a file is selected. I've pressed it inadvertently a few times when trying to open a file (command-O, adjacent to P).
To me, this is a bad idea. There is no confirmation of any sort, it immediatley prints. I'm in an office with a default printer set, and if I didn't pay attention I might send something to the printer without realizing.
I'd like to know how to disable this. Thanks.

Thank you kindly Andy, for your correct suggestion. It lead me in the right direction.
I've accidentally sent pages upon pages of programming to a printer and wasted so much paper cause I fat-fingered command+p instead of command+o . Also, when you quick print it closes what you choose to print, which is real convenient incase you blink and totally miss that you sent 43 pages of programming to print.
For the longest time, I set my default printer to a print that didn't exist to avoid this accident, if that is any indication of how long I've battled this flaw. I too consider this issue to be a big oversite, ESPECIALLY for how eco-friendly Apple is because this oversite costs paper.
HOW I REMOVED command+p FROM FINDER:
Open System Preferences > click Keyboard > click Keyboard Shortcuts > click Application Shortcuts in the left panel > click the "+" button below the right panel > Select Finder as your Application: > set the menu title to exactly the case-sensative value of "Bring All to Front" > set Keyboard Shortcut to "command+p" by actually pressing the-command-key+p-key
I tried setting the Keyboard Shortcut of command+p to "Open" but the command+o stopped working.
