How to clear email from iCloud?

When I initially set up my Comcast.net email, iCloud grabbed all the messages from the server. However, I rarely use Comcast.net directly, I get my mail through outlook express, leaving the originals on Comcast.net. So it clouded about 1000 messages. I went into Comcast and delete most of the messages, hoping they would disappear from my iPad, but the are still there.  I have tried turning email off in iCloud, tried turning the email account off in the iPad, all to no avail.
How can I clear all these old messages so I can't see them in iPad?
As a side note, is there any way to delete large volumes of messages on the iPad email?  It seems each message has to be deleted one at a time, rather than doing a select all (or search), then a 'Delete All'??
Thanks.
Tom

I know you can use CTRL-A in windows and Command-A on a mac for select all but unfortuantely there's no way to do this on an iPad.  If you've deleted them from the comcast server you could delete your comcast account from your iPad and then add it back.  This should restore only the emails still on the comcast server.  Otherwise you'll have to touch each email you want to delete to select it, then press the delete button in edit mode (as described above).

  • How to retrieve email from iCloud using GMail?

I currently have a Dot Mac email account that I have retrieved from MobileMe by my GMail account. If I move my Dot Mac address to iCloud, what settings will need to be changed in my GMail account?

Does iCloud still use the mail.me.com server or is it now mail.icloud.com?
I've gone to www.icloud.com using Safari on my iPad  and my iPhone, but then I hit a wall because I'm not ready to transfer my mac.com & me.com email addresses over to iCloud yet. I paid $99 for MobileMe and I can't see throwing that away this early.
Hopefully there will be a "Take Control of iCloud" released in the next few months. Also, since Apple is now investigating ways to allow merging of Apple IDs, I'd like to wait until they announce what they determine will be required.
As for using a desktop computer to access iCloud webmail, I'll have to find the cheapest used Mac that can run Lion and then just use it for those rare times I absolutely have to access it that way. Most of the time that Mac will be completely off and disconnected. I absolutely abhor Lion; it is the worst version since Cheetah.

    Hi there Lindlylou!
I have an article here that can explain a little more about the feature you are referencing, called AirPrint:
    AirPrint Basics

That article will contain information about which printers are AirPrint compatible, as well as information about how to use AirPrint on your iPad. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

If you have an iCloud account, go to Settings>iCloud and turn Mail to On.  You can also view your mail by signing into your account on icloud.com from your computer.

  • I have cleared all my music from my iPhone. I have "Sync music" unchecked on iTunes, but some songs are still on "on this phone" in itunes, how to clear it from itunes "on this phone" ?

    iOS 8.0
I have "Sync music" unchecked on iTunes and I have cleared all my music from my iPhone.
On my Mac, on itunes (version 11.4) if you click on "on this phone", there are still remaining 70 songs...
how to clear it from itunes "on this phone" ?

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, not an iTunes "account."  The account that is related to iTunes is your Apple ID, which you use to sign in to the iTunes Store and make purchases.  It is also used with iCloud.  iPods (that are not iPod touch) are associated with your iTunes library, not to your Apple ID.
So, I think you probably just need to set up (or update) automatic syncing for the iPod.  If it's not set up to sync those new songs, iTunes still syncs the iPod, but it syncs nothing
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  In the sidebar, the iPod appears under DEVICES, when it is connected.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of buttons, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music (if it's not already checked).  If your iTunes music library fits completely on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  On the lists below, checkmark the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres that you want on the iPod.  When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.
One convenient way to set this up (if you can't sync the entire iTunes music library) is to create a new playlist in your iTunes library.  Name it "iPod Songs" (or whatever you want).  Put ALL songs that you want on the iPod on this playlist, including those new songs.  Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select this playlist under Playlists.  Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, just update that playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The next time you connect the iPod (or click the Sync button), iTunes automatically syncs the same changes to the iPod.

  • Fake email from "iCloud"

I received an email from "iCloud" this morning saying that my icloud storage was almost full and I should purchase more memory? Sounds like a huge scam to me.

Well, since there are no links in the email that I can see, and the email was informational only, with instructions on how to manage your iCloud storage via your own device Settings, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Seems like it was just a notification to let you know that you are just about maxed out on your iCloud storage.
    Cheers,

  • HT4859 How can I restore from iCloud on my new phone if I didn't do it on the intial setup process?

How can I restore from iCloud on my new phone if I didn't do it on the intial setup process?

You can't merge the backups, you'll have to delete the backup of your old phone.  If it says it's currently in use when you try, that will normally clear up on its own but may take 3-5 days to do so.  Give it a few days and try deleting the old backup again.
In the meantime, you can create a manual backup of your new phone on your computer by connecting it to your computer, opening iTunes, clicking on the name of your phone in iTuens, going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and clicking Back Up Now.  Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Then you'll be safe until you can start backup up to iCloud again.

  • HT4436 Just received an email from iCloud stating that my free upgrade was going to expire and decrease to 5, when I had been using 10+. What is this??

I just received an email from icloud stating that my free upgrade was going to expire and it would decrease to 5 (when I have been using 10+). What is this??

The actual amount of extra free storage varies depending on how much storage previous subscribers had.
If you do nothing your storage will dowgrade to 5GB so you should make sure you don't have more content than this.
If you want to continue with the increased storage by paying for it, please see

How do I logout from icloud so that my wife can login?

You don't, unless you want to remove all your iCloud content from your phone.
Why does your wife want to log in to iCloud on your phone? If it is to check her email, you'd need to setup her email account as a secondary one in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

The SMTP server you are using with Wi-Fi would be the outgoing server of your internet service provider... this is likely why that's working.
SMTP servers specific to a ISP would not work on the 3G network. You would probably need another SMTP server. One from your cell provider?

pls help me how to download photoes from icloud to pc

    Hi Asanyasir,
If you are trying to download your pictures from Photo Stream, you may want to look at this article -
    iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903
    In particular this section -
Can photos be saved or downloaded from a shared photo stream?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared stream can download and keep them permanently.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to the Camera Roll. On a Mac, using iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later, you can save photos from the shared stream to your local Photo Library or any other location on your Mac. On a Windows PC, you can copy photos from a shared photo stream to any folder. On the web, photos can be downloaded directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
