How to clear "most visited" bar - it is inaccurate

How can I clear the "most visited" bar near top of Firefox Start Page? The sites that I visit the most often are not on there,but there are some listed there that I have not used in 2+years. Shouldn't it show the ones that I use daily?

As long as there is history there is most visited history.<br />
That list is automatically generated from the history based on visited count, so if you remove one site from the history then another site will take that place.

Hello, I wanted to know if there is anyway to delete the most visited sites,in the Bookmarks Toolbar? Don't see much use in clearing recent history if someone can come behind me and click on the most visited sites in the bookmarks toolbar. Usually the category is emptied when the entire history range is erased. You can also permanently remove the '''Most Visited''' category by right-clicking on it and '''Delete'''.

I had a bookmarked site in my most visited folder at the top of the tool bar and today it isn't there. How do I get it back in there?

I don't know how to put a bookmarked page back into my most visited folder on the tool bar under the "back" arrow key. It has been there for days and this morning it was gone!

Click on the Menu bar and go to View . Or, hover over where the Menu bar shiuld be and click on it when it appears. Try quitting and relaunching Finder.

How do I control the listing of websites in the "Most Visited" tab in the Tool Bar?

The tab "Most Visited" appears in tool bar on my screen. This bar is the 4th one down from the top of the screen. I'm unsure how the tab got there or how it functions. It is a useful tool for quickly locating websites I frequently use, but I don't know how to control which sites are listed there. I there some type of automatic function that selects which sites to list there? I can delete sites from the list, but can you set up the tab to only select and keep the ones I want on that list?

Just below the URL location bar is a line of stuff I don't want. It contains Most Visited, Getting Started, Latest Headlines, Apple, .Mac, Yahoo!, News, Apple, Welcome to Firefox.

if you hid the menu bar and the navigation bar simply press the alt button, this will bring back the menu bar and form there you can right click and select which bars you want shown

You will have to visit such a link often enough to make it appear in Most Visited.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) via the Views menu.
You can clear all history to reset the visit count.

How to revert back to the last version - I lost ALL most visited links and my Norton Safe master logon

Please, I am partially handicapped, and with the new version 4.0, I have lost ALL my Most Visited links and history, plus my Norton Safe master log on manager is also gone. (Typing in difficult for me)
Regretting this upgrade BIG time, I want to revert back to the last version but cannot find any instructions anywhere.
One blog entry I read said that the revert process (not explained how) made that person lose ALL their bookmarks.
There was NO warning that this 4.0 version would do any of this, and this is unacceptable, my favorite browser for a long time has me wondering now if I should go to Chrome!

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload, Stop, & Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar. Only one function is ever active at any one time, so combining them save UI space was a good idea. When a page is loading, it is a "Stop" button, when it finished loading, it turns into a "Reload" button, and when you start to type something into the Location bar it turns into a "Go" button.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > '''Customize'''" window or right-click a vacant area on a Toolbar, ''except fot the Bookmarks Toolbar''.
* Then drag'n'drop the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the Location bar.

Most Visited is an automatically generated list that shows sites that you've visited.<br />
If you delete the history of a site then you have with a visit count of zero.<br />
To make that site reappear in that you you will have to visit that site often enough to make the visit count match the other sites in that list or clear the history from other sites in that list.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the History Manager to see how many times you've visit sites.
