How to clear running programs

How do I clear the running programs on my iPad 2? I fingured out how to bring them up - pushing the button 2x. I figured out how to check them - hold button down. but How do I clear them?

- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete the offending app from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
- Restart the app

I just updated my iPad and don't know how to clear running programs now

I have just updated my iPad. When I try to delete or stop the programs running I am doing it the way I used to do it before it was updated by double tapping the on/off button. When I do this, it shows the programs I was using on the bottom of the screen. But when I press the icon to look for the minus sign to remove it, it doesn't happen. iIt just makes that website come up. So, something has changed with the new update but I can't figure it out. Can someone tell me what to do? Thank you.

As before, double tap your home button. You'll see the apps in use on the bottom and a page view of the open version above the app on the bottom. With your finger, slide the open version of the app upwards towards the top of the iPad and the app will close........

Ios 7.0.2 issue: how to stop running programs

I am a new iPhone5 user and just installed ios 7.0.2 (maybe I should not have but I did). Now I don't know how to stop running programs. Previously
I double-clicked the Home button, then saw the icons that represented running programs, then could lightly touch one of them which led to all of them
showing a X for a potential delete. That does not work now so how do I do it?

Is there a way to close a program in Windows if I know the loaded exe name? How is this done?
There is a program called kill.exe from the NT resource kit. It's used as "kill.exe processname". I'd like to use something similar but through a Java object.

You can close only those programs which you run through your java program. e.g. you can run a batch file through your java program as follows:
Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process process = runtime.exec("c:\\my.bat");
Now you have a reference of your created program. At any time you can close it as follows:
process.destroy();

There are some alternative browsers such as photon, skyfire, etc. that may or may not meet your needs.
Facebook has its own app on the iPad 2 and apps for several of the games on their site. There is an YouTube app that came with your iPad.

Yes, if you use the Read Program Status function either in LabVIEW, C++, or VB it will return the status of any program you have onboard. Another easy way to find out if an onboard program is running is to use Measurement and Automation Explorer. Under the section called Device Resources for the 7344, you will find a Tab called On-Board Memory Manager. Clicking on this tab will show you which programs are running and if you right clikc on them you can start them stop them, delete them from RAM or save them to flash. You can also use the Object Memory Management function to Save, delete or free a program from RAM programmatically.

When i go to system preferences, then users & groups, then to my name, log in items ....this box is clear, i have unchecked everything, yet things still start up......

sometimes these applications will have a setting in the preferences to not open on login of computer. If you see none of that, you can go into:
system preferences> Users & Groups > Select your user>Login Items.
unlock the settings by hitting the lock icon on the bottom left of the window then youll be able to uncheck these things from opening when you log in.

It sounds like either your hard drive or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard are failing. This could be heat related in your case, which is why you see it after it runs awhile. You can take it to the Genius Bar for a free evaluation. If you decide to test it yourself, I usually suggest moving the hard drive to an external enclosure. If it works there for awhile, the cable is probably the issue.

How many times a program has been run?

Is there a transaction or table or something that tracks how many times a program has been run? The number of times the program has been run plus using the programs' attributes for last changed would help me a lot. We need this for an archiving study to determine of the client has set up the configuration correctly since they went live and have been executing the correct programs. Thanks and mucho rewards if someone has an answer. FYI - I have done a forum search and could find nothing on this topic. I have looked at the tables TADIR and no help, as well as transaction STAT.

I know ST03N transaction can be used extensively to determine how the programs were executed or even to know who all are using a particular transaction...
I tried to find if we can find the number of executions of a program through this transaction, I could not find myself...

I have JBuilder's IDE installed on my Linux partition and it works. However I don't know how to compile and test a program without it. Also I tried to install Limewire on Linux and although I've installed the Java SDK on the system. Once before I installed JBuilder and then JBuilder (I guess) installed it again. However it told me it couldn't find the Java Virtual Machine. Isn't this installed with the JDK? I am able to run programs through JBuilder so I can't see why I'd have a problem. Any answers to the above issues would be greatly appreciated.
