How to closa a pdf file

Hello everybody!
I know that open a pdf file in labview was more then discussed in here. However I couldn't find anything about closing a pdf file.
Here is the deal!
I am generating a pdf report after I finish my test, then i save and open this pdf report. If for some reason the user retest the same SN while the last report is still open my report crashes because it is still open.
I would be happy if only I could detect that pdf report is open and then display a message saying to close the file, but the ideal is to close the file before crash.

What program do you use to open the pdf? Acrobat Reader? If so, you can kill the acrobat reader process. It's not a good way to do it, but it is one way to do it
On my computer Acrobat Reader is listed as AcroRd32.exe. Tho kill it, I can send the command "taskkill /F /IM acrord32.exe" without the qoutations to the systemexec Vi.
A better way could be to get the task list by sending the command "tasklist" to systemexec Vi. Then search for "acro" and then get the full name. Incase the name could have a different ending (i.e 64 instead of 32).

Hello Rajesh,
You are trying to do use OPEN DATASET with a local file. NOT POSSIBLE
You have to have the file in the app server to use OPEN DATASET.

I am using the Adobe PDF Runtime to Print the *10g Report* Directly to Printer.
It's Is Working Fine. But After giving Print Option , The Adobe Runtime Still Running. Manually we need to Close that runtime window,
then only the control come back to Forms.
Can Any one tel me how to Close Adobe PDF Runtime window Automatically, When i give print report Directly to Printer.

The easiest way is to set up syncing between your iPad and laptop with iTunes. You can read how on the Apple website in the iPad section, or you can answer a question on their forums: www.apple.com.
It's a really good idea to set up iTunes syncing so you can back up all the files on your iPad!
On a one-by-one basis you could email a PDF, or use Dropbox, but synching is much better.

How do I save PDF files by default to the folder of the source file with Acrobat 9.0.0 Standard?

I am not seeing that behaviour. If I right-click a link to a .pdf file, I get the file saved with the original filename.
Maybe one of the settings in about:config controls that?
pdfjs.previousHandler.preferredAction is a setting that has a value of 4 with my setup. I have no idea what that means, and I could not find any explanation anywhere. You could try using different numbers for that value and see if any make any difference. Why has nobody bothered to explain that setting anywhere?

this file goes to notification widget (i drag down screen)
notification/message says download complete
i click on notification/message
nows it says complete action using (here i only have 2 icon options 1= DB Text Editor 2 = HTML Viewer)

Hi All,
We need to show a pdf file as report which was saved in a given location. How to call that pdf file as report. We need to give a hyperlink in the report and when we click on the report the pdf file should be displayed.
When we open a report, there will be just hyperlinks to call serveral reports. When we click on each link , one should call a pdf saved in a particular location.

In Word, if you have set the borders on then you should see them in the output. In Word it has a setting to let you see 'gridlines' even if they are not set ie you have turned the borders off. Highlight the table and set all the borders on and re-try. If that fails, try building the table from scratch and copy the cell contents across to the new table

How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?
I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

it uses DDE or the command line to run an external application (e.g. Adobe Acrobat)

Yes you can definitely do this. You'll need an app on the iPad that handles PDF viewing and editing. There are many around - two of the best I've seen are GoodReader and PDF Expert.
In iTunes when you iPad is connected to your PC, go to the Apps tab and scroll down and you'll see the File Sharing section. You can drag files to there to share them to your iPad.
You could also look at online file sync services like PDF to ePub Maker if you prefer not to have to connect your iPad to a PC

management, use protected PDFs via LiveCyle/ Acrobat Connect or learn how
to create your own ePub stuff using Digital Publishing Suite. In any case,
it will probably cost you money upfront before you make any revenue.
