How to close Bridge CC to system tray?

I have read a few posts on this.
mostly just people arguing about workflow practices. But no clear answers from Adobe.
Is it possible to enable this feature so it acts the same as Bridge CS5/CS6 did?
on a windows 7 64bit machine.
and in an attempt to keep the ignorants at bay:
- because I want it there. It makes it easier to access with one click
-I don't want Bridge to live in my taskbar
-I don't have a 'quick launch' bar in my task bar.
-It's not a limitation of the OS, because that behaviour functions in CS5
-I have plenty of resources specifically to keep things open in the background. it's a cheap way to combat slow disk reads. (cheaper than SSD)
So,
Adobe. Are you going to bring back any of the features or functions that were removed when you moved to a subscription service?
like, being able to close Bridge to the system tray... for instance.

Bridge is running in the background as you have it set up to load on startup (advanced options).  If on Win OS open Task Manager and in Processes tab look for bridge.exe and close.

This Inventeering toolkit allows you to create a LabVIEW program that can access the Window's System Tray. Now you can make your LabVIEW program show up with your custom icon, pop up tool tip, and pop up menu in the system tray. Comes with a Royalty Free built application distribution license.
    Product Features:
PROGRAMMABLE loading of icons, tool tips and menus to the system tray that will allow your program to poll for system tray events; and then respond in accordance to your design needs. An example LabVIEW Program demonstrating use is also provided.

  • How to create a kde panel system tray icon set?

hi, i would like to perform a modification of oxygen style to obtain a system tray composed by icons only in grayscale or b/n tones.
i tried editing the klipper icon, by desaturating all klipper.png in the various oxygen directories, and it works fine.
but in this manner all the klipper's icons used by kde are in grayscale.
now, if i change kmix icons state, also amarok's and other icons would change?
is there any method to avoid this conflict?
    bye

If you don't know how to program this in, you're probably out of luck. Would be interested in someone else proving me wrong though.
hi, i can't program the system tray it would be nice if there were someone that made a patch or something else. however i decolorize some icons (kmix, klipper and kmess) in a first try and this is the (not bad) result:
    http://i.imagehost.org/0045/snapshot16.png
the thing is, kde HAS options for coloring icons in different places. Problem is that KDE does not use those - at least i never managed to make it work. It only worked if i set the colors globally
i tried to use this tool: only Desktop Effects works, but it changes both desktop and panel icons....but not system tray icons!!!

  • How to minimize window into the system tray icon

    Hi,
I tried to fin how to minimize the application main window into the right down corner (system tray bar) only as an icon cause I don't want to have it on main bar.
    Thx for any ideas.
    Wenca

I've already done that, some years ago.
Sorry, but I cannot give you the code, cause it has vanished after a few (!!!) system re-installations ;)
But this was the main idea:
    - make a jni-dll
    - inside the dll, get the handle to the window you want to minimize
    - alter that window's properties
It's rather easy, once you've avoided all pitfalls. I'll suggest http://www.codeproject.com , they've certainly some tutorials on minimizing to the system tray.

  • How to add a minimize to system tray icon button?

how can i add a minimize to system tray icon button near the others common buttons usually found on the upper right window bar? (i mean near the _ [] X)
    _ for minimize to taskbar
    [] for maximizing
    X for closing
i'd like to add a fourth button to the left of the _ button for minimizing to system tray
like in many programs the fourth button is a dot shaped one that minimizes the program to system tray
i'd like to add one to my program as well, but i didnt find anything about this kind of buttons neither on google nor on java books
    can anyone help me?
    thank you!

You can't (easily). The window decorations are controled by the operating system. Your best bet is to change the functionality of the minimize-to-taskbar button and make it into a minimize-to-tray button. In fact, all the programs that minimize to the tray on my computer - about 6 of them - do it this way.
like in many programs the fourth button is a dot shaped one that minimizes the program to system trayI've never seen this?

  • How to add program to windows system tray?

I heard from someone that in order to add a program to the system tray, I must use JNI. I want to ask whether there is any other alternative. If not, how do I go about doing it using JNI.
    Thanx in advance.

You can use the JTray API (Java System Tray API For
Windows) that can be found at http://www.JavaAPIs.com.
It supports several image types, animation, and
display of AWT and Swing Components as pop-ups. I always find it rather annoying when people scour past posts to promote a product that they have a vested interest in.
Especially when they don't point out that that they have such an interest.
Especially when they don't point out that the interest is monetary.
Especially when they do nothing but post ads - never actually answering a single question.
    Just me I suppose.

  • Bridge doesn't appear in system tray anymore

The Bridge Icon in the windows system tray isn't visible anymore, even if Bridge.exe seems to run after I closed the Bridge window.
I cannot start or re-open Bridge from the system tray - even in the extended version of the tray where all icons are shown, the Bridge Icon is missing.
How can I restore the default behaviour?
    I'm using Bridge CS5 in Version 4.1.0.54

This is an OS issue.  Here is a link on how to do it in Win7.  https://www.google.com/search?q=win7+system+tray&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en -US:official&client=firefox-a

  • How to avoid orphaned system tray icon?

I know how to create a system tray icon for my application using InstallSysTrayIcon().
I also know how to remove it before the program terminates (calling RemoveSysTrayIcon()).
But the program closes in an expected way, or through the Task Manager, for example, the icon isn't deleted, and the user could think that the application is still running. Moreover, when you re-launch the application, a second icon is shown.
The Windows OS removes the orphaned icon when the mouse hovers over the tray.
It seems that this is an OS issue, and I did some web searches: I found this describing a way to avoid this behaviour in a C# application, but I haven't been able to port this solution to a CVI application.
Is there a way to do this with CVI 2009?

    Hi Luca!
Anyway if you're worried about program crashes your only option...
Actually what I'm worried about is a little bit more complicated: my CVI application could be remotely closed by other applications running on the same or other PCs on the LAN. I should avoid the icon is left on the system tray while the application has been closed, giving a wrong information to the user...
I've been using the task manager only to "simulate" a force close made by a different application.
And sure, I must increase the error handling as much as I can to avoid application crash

my ebay toolbar and the ebay logo that was in my system tray at the bottom have both disappeared when I installed FireFox??? How do I get them back? Please help.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How do I get the speaker icon to STAY in my system tray?  Every time I mute the speakers, the icon disappears from my system tray.  I have a very difficult time getting it back, and I can never remember how I do it.  Can someone give me some helpful, easy to remember steps on how to KEEP the sound/volume icon in my system tray?  Thanks.

I did what you said.  There is not a "system icons to always show".  What it does say is "turn system icons on or off".  The one for the sound icon is greyed out and CANNOT be clicked on.  This happens every time I mute the speakers.
So, how do I get it back?

In the menu that said "turn system icons on or off", try clicking on the blue writing on the bottom left of that menu that says "restore default icon behaviors".
