How To Close Documents Without Closing Entire App

Since the latest Pages update, when I close all open documents, it automatically closes the entire program and then I have to wait 15 minutes to start it back up. Is there any setting I can change to fix this?

That is just how long it takes the app to open up, give or take.
Version 5.1
Sometimes on my hard drive, sometimes to Apple's cloud, it has the same problem either way.

It is not a bug, but a new feature.<br />
Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and Bookmarks menu (Alt+B) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.

When I open a new page, Firefox won't let me close it without closing altogether the website I am exploring. This has happened since the "update" and happened on multiple website. What happened to "close tab?"

I used to be able to click "File" and "close tab" to close a page without closing a website. For a few weeks after the last Firefox update, I had to hit "exit" and that worked the same, but now it closes everything. Very irritating and time-consuming.

Close document without exiting program

In Dreamweaver 6, before I got a new computer, I could close
a document window and the program would go back to a blank New
Document screen. Now the entire program closes, and I can't find
how to close a document without exiting the program. Does anyone
know how to do this?

Closing form without closing the App

When I try to run my compiled forms with the run time app, I close out of the entire application with the close_form or exit_form procedure. How do I close the form and keep the app open?

Hi Sara,
whenever you open a application through NT command (for instance: f50run32 userid=scott/tiger@default <form_name>) the given form is your starting form.
Most of the time when you develop a application the starting form of that application with an image and the name of the application. Form there you can open other forms through the menu.
When you want to start another form directly from the start form use open_form(<form_name> in the when_new_form_instance trigger. In that case you give the user a certain starting form when that isn't THE starting form of that application.
For example:
2 you have 2 forms (FORM_A and FORM_B). You start your application with
f50run32 userid=scott/tiger@default FORM_A.
Then FORM_A is THE starting form of the application.
In FORM_A, in the when_new_form_instance trigger you call FORM_B.
Then FORM_B is the starting form for the user and not for the application. When you close FORM_B, FORM_A is still active.

You can do this either by hiding your window or by closing the window. Following is the sample code to do that

Is it possible to search documents without tags?
Is there a search keyword or phrase, such as "not TAG", that we can use to search for the documents that are not attached with any tag?

I've created a form that used a button to jump to another pdf document. This second document is included in the first document as an attachment so that the whole package can be sent to people as one document.
It works well but the problem is that when the button is selected the document that is already open is closed (albeit with a save document prompt).
There seems to be no way to keep the existing document open whilst the second document (the linked document) is opened.
Is there a solution to this?

Go to the button's Properties and edit the "Go to a page view" action
you've created. Edit the "Open In" option and set it to "New Window".

If you don't want that, open recent files instead, or change your Preferences.
There are many ways you can choose to open your work.

File Print in MS Word closes document without printing

I am using a C8180 printer. When I try to print from a MS Word document using "File > Print", it immediately closes the document, and does not print. Clicking the printer icon in the menu bar works OK. I do not have this problem with any other software. No problems scanning.

Bookmarks opens in a window 2/3's the size of my screen since the latest update. Now the first bookmark I scroll over covers the whole window instead of too the side and I can't close it without closing the bookmarks window

I kept getting a reminder I had a Firefox update I needed to install. I did last night but never opened Firefox again till this morning. Now when I click on bookmarks for the drop down it opens a window almost 2/3's the size of my screen instead of the narrow window it has in the past. Now as soon as I move my mouse over or close to any bookmark it opens up that bookmark in the window and I can't access the bookmark I want. I have to close the whole window and then be very careful as I move my mouse to the correct bookmark. In the past with the narrow window it opened the bookmarks to the side and only after you clicked on them. I have tried to resize the window but can't find any option to do so. Also couldn't find an option that would let me change it so a bookmark had to be clicked on. If this can't be changed I will be removing Firefox. This is too inconvenient for me.

Take it to your local Apple Store or AASP, it's covered by a 1 year hardware warranty. If you have AppleCare then give them a call but I'm pretty sure they will advise the same. If you have not purchased AppleCare yet please do, this will extend the warranty to 3 years however it MUST be purchased within the first year of ownership. Let it go 366 days and you are out of luck. AppleCare will also include telephone support too.

I have a macbook from the latest generation with an external screen plugged on the DVI. If I want to use the screen as main display and not the one from my macbook, I need to close the lid of my laptop and reactivate it with my bluetooth mouse.
Any clue if there is a nicer way to do this (like FN+F4 on PC laptops) ?
