How to close Mobile Mouse Server?

I was doing an update on the App Mobile Mouse Server and when it weas ready to install it indicated I needed to close the App before it could install the update.  The app is not in the dock and I don't know how to close it.  Help Please!!!

Hi,
In the field for local server you just type in the local dns name for your calendar server, mail server etc... Also select which port you want publish externally and the the correct port your service is actually using on your lan (Selected under advanced tab). Make sure your mobile access server can resolv your hostnames correctly. It should point to an local ip. If an nslookup shows your public ip, you have to correct your local dns server (This is often called split dns configuration.)
To access this from outside your LAN you have setup NAT and permit the port you have configure your mobile access server to be the incomming port. How exactly you do that on the airport I am not sure, but I am sure it is explained in the user manual for the airport.
I found this video about the mobile access server on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VRgl2bncZU
Hope this helps.

    I downloaded the Mobile Mouse server inadvertently three times. When I attempt to put the extra ones in the trash my Mac Mini will not let me. Does anyone know how to get rid of these extra ones? Please help

    Dave,
    Hello! Yes I am referring to the Mobile Mouse Pro software from RPA Tech. Thanks for your answer as I was able to trash the two inadvertent downloads. Meanwhile when I downloaded the Mobile Mouse Software to my new Mac Mini I got an error message. “Error Starting Server” please make sure you have an active network connection or try a different Port.” My network is working as I am on the internet and receive mail. How do I know what other Port to try? Where does one find the Port number? Please help! Mike

  • Mobile Mouse Server alternative for 10.6.8/iOS 5.x?

    Mobile Mouse Server is a great App, the only trouble is the free version does not convey arrow keys or escape key to my Mac OS X 10.6.8 Mac Mini from my original iPad 3G.    Any similar App for both operating systems that does that and the rest of the keyboard that obviously is free?

    If you search the AppStore for 'remote mouse' a number of potential alternatives come up, but all of them have some (frequently minimal) costs involved - either for the iOS or Mac app or to enable certain features.
    If your budget is too constrained even to stretch to a few dollars, I doubt you'll find anything that suits.

  • How to setup Mobile Access Server

    Hi,
    I am trying to setup Mobile Access Server on my Mac Mini Server. The setup I have is a small network behind a Airport Extreme. I would like to give all users access to services using Mobile Access Server and was hoping initial setup was going to take care of that....no such luck.
    What do I fill in for the local servers? How do I access this service from the outside the lan? How do I need to configure my Airport (with the other services, it happened almost automatically from the security pane).
    Thanks,
    Ian

    I would like to make sure that no body can access the server from outside of the society ecepted if the have VPN client configured.
    The collaborator should be able to connect the server via afp, but form out side they need to use VPN.
    Then I am looking for a way to manage port on macmini server
    Many thank for your help

    Hi,
    I finally heart that port can not be closed on the router because I am usinf 1:1NAT.
    How can close all port on my Macmini and open only the port ssh. I will not use VPN.?
    If I turn on the firewall with the option to close all protocole. Is there a command to open a selected port?
    If there is only the port 22 (SSH) how can I mount a remote folder with afp or with somethin else? I also have on PC over the 7 iMac.

  • Exchanging objects from mobile to server.

    Hi,
    I'm working in a project that needs to send and receive objects from a mobile client, i know java me does not suport serialization, so, we do not have ObjectOutputStream and ObjectInputStream classes... but, anyone worked in a project with thats requirements? how you pass objects between server and mobile? we are analizing the possibility of make a framework, this one converts a object in the mobile for a xml and the server parse the xml in a new object, we will need to work with aspectj or something like this to intercept the methods and abstract totally de parsing, but this requires time, and we are very close in the project, can someone tell me what to do?
    Thank you
    André Martins

    The HARD WAY:
    The thing you are trying is complicated. First of all, a mechanism to write "any" type of object is very complicated. You have to take
    care of any type of Class. There is a way of doing this but you have to work many months.
    Java offers a mechanism to extract Class information at runtime by using "Class.Class" type. When you serialize an object, you care about internal fields and not
    methods, so you have to extract fields information in triplets : (type, fieldName, value). After you extract all these triplets you define a protocol
    of writing fields into a byte array with DataOutputStream;
    This is the simplest way, but here rises a problem: what if the fields are not primitive values(float, integer, etc..). These
    types are indivisible; but a reference to another object is not an indivisible field. So here comes a recursive way of analyze the
    class: For every indivisible field you have to apply the same algorithm. You apply this until no more reference types are found.
    At the end, the "map" of one Class will look like a tree data structure, where the root is the class type to serialize and the leafs are
    primitive types that are indivisible. Intermediary nodes are references(Class types). By doing so you create a map of the entire Class dependencies.
    Another problem rises here: what if references are in cycle? This means that the previous algorithm works in infinite loop. To avoid this you have
    to create a hash map and add at recursive reference traversal in the hash map objects already mapped. In this case the references between Class types
    creates a graph topology and not a tree topology. By adding this hash of already visited and mapped objects you create a spanning tree over the graph and
    avoid infinite looping.
    After creating the spanning tree, you apply a traversal algorithm(BFS - Breadth First Search) and for every node you write, using the DataOutputStream object,the
    triplets.
    In order to separate the objects into the byte stream, you have to add "offset information" for every Class type you write, in order to read at the other end the correct instances. For a real example of coding this offsets and "pointers" try to implement from scratch the DNS protocol(application layer protocol used to translate a domain name into IP address).
    The EASY WAY
    The easy way is to create a finite number of objects that can be serialized. To do this you have to combine two Design Patterns - Abstract Factory and Memento.
    The Abstract Factory pattern is used to instantiate a family of objects into an uniform way and context. The Memento pattern is used to save a specific state of one object or group of objects. So, you define an Abstract Factory that creates Mementos from objects you want to serialize. Of course the number of objects(or families) is limited, but sufficient to fit your communication needs. On Sender you create mementos that encapsulate the state of objects and send them to Receiver that uses the same factory type to recreate the original object from the memento, but you have to do it by hand: for every class type you have to "recreate" the original configuration by telling the meaning of the received bytes. Also, the memento object must have a low complexity, so you can code it, and not to be a representation of a tree with 10 levels.

  • Mobile Access Server setup

    So, I'm setting up a 10.6.1 server in the DMZ to be a Mobile Access Server to reverse proxy mail, calendaring, and web. Couple issues I have:
    1. I want to manage this DMZ server from a different internal 10.6.1 Server inside my network. I have turned on Remote Management on the DMZ server, but cannot connect from Server Admin on the internal server to the DMZ server. I need to be able to manage both servers from one Server Admin console. I also need to be able to screen share the DMZ server for access ONLY from the internal server. How do I accomplish this?
    2. My internal 10.6.1 server is my Open Directory Master already, and working nicely. But to use Mobile Access Server and reverse proxy services back to the internal server, I need the DMZ server to be aware of my existing directory inside. Would I want to make the DMZ server an Open Directory Replica, or should I use the middle option for Open Directory types called "Connect to another directory"? Obviously, I know that it should NOT be another master.
    3. I have purchased and implemented a wildcard cert on my internal 10.6.1 server to use for TLS, HTTPS, etc. I have also told the Open Directory Master to use ssl for the LDAP piece of it (there's a GUI option for that). Figured I might as well secure everything I can a bit more since I purchased the cert. What effect will this have on Question 2 above? Will I need to open a different port for instance on the firewall for LDAP over SSL? Or any issues with creating a Replica or "connect to another OD server" on the OD server in the DMZ to get it to connect to the internal OD Master?
    Thanks for all the help here.

    To your #1: When you use a firewall to place a device in a DMZ, that device is not part of the internal network. It 'technically' sits on the outside of the firewall at nearly the same place as your external connection.
    Some discussions about a firewall use colors to designate the 'data protection' level or 'threat' vector.
    (Below was 'borrowed' from http://riskless.com/firewall_configuration.aspx)
    * RED Network Interface
    This network is the Internet or other untrusted network. IPCop’s primary purpose is to protect the GREEN, BLUE and ORANGE networks and their computers from traffic originating on the RED network. Your current connection method and hardware are used to connect to this network.
    * GREEN Network Interface
    This interface only connects to the computer(s) that IPCop is protecting. It is presumed to be local. Traffic to it is routed though an Ethernet NIC on the IPCop computer firewall.
    * BLUE Network Interface
    This optional network allows you to place wireless devices on a separate network. Computers on this network cannot get to the GREEN network except tightly controlled “pinholes”, or via a VPN. Traffic to this network is routed through an Ethernet NIC.
    * ORANGE Network Interface
    This optional network allows you to place publicly accessible servers on a separate network. Computers on this network cannot get to the GREEN or BLUE networks, except through tightly controlled “DMZ pinholes”. Traffic to this network is routed through an Ethernet NIC.
    * The GREEN and RED networks are required
    * The ORANGE and BLUE networks are optional
    The interface requirements for your RED network will vary depending on your connection to the Internet. The RED network may require an additional Ethernet card and cable.
    you can also read up all this from a more neutral article here: http://www.ocmodshop.com/ocmodshop.aspx?a=1526
    The point of all this is that, depending on 'where' the dat is comgin from , it either is denied access ,or must be 'punched through' to allow access. Her is a diagram of that process (from a linux firewall called ipcop)
    !http://www.ipcop.org/1.4.0/en/admin/images/traffic.png!
    Soaccess from inside (your network) to your DMZ device should work without any trouble but from DMZ to inside should require ports to be opened up. On most Firewalls, they call this port access 'Pin Holes' as the DMZ is itself protected by only allowing the ip address of that network into through the firewall. Possibly Your firewall is not doing any kind of Statefull Packet Inspection so all conversations must have a pinhole to come 'back' out of the dmz? Tell us your firewall brand and that might help.
    #2: I would use "Connect to another directory". YOu want to limit the amount of data that can be compromised in the DMZ. As I mentioned the DMZ is outside your network, technically naked to the world. I believe that any port that does NOT get routed (forwarded) into your green, will automatically be forwarded to your DMZ, so it will be hammered with all manner of hack and virus vectors.

  • How to get mobile model name for different types mobile devices

    Hi,
    I have checked few thread in this forum about getting mobile model name at server. So far, i noticed the mobile name is set manually in the midlet as user-agent .
    HttpConnection connection = null;           connection = (HttpConnection)Connector.open(url);          connection.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.POST);          connection.setRequestProperty("User-Agent","Nokia7110 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0");
    i retrieve the header information from servlet like below :-
    String userAgent = request.getHeader("User-Agent");
    How to get mobile model name for different model devices , not by manually adding the model name in midlet?
    Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi,
    In J2ME there is no method to get the model number from the device. how ever you can use the APIs provided by the device manufacturer if available. But still the APIs will not work with devices from other manufacturer or sometimes it will not work with the devices of the same manufacturer if the API is not supported. so it is better to send the device model name through the header.

  • Lenovo s660, how to change mobile network from gprs..? its constantly using gprs mobile network..

    there is always G symbol with network indicator on top.. please help me to know how to change mobile network type in S660 mobile.. other networkd like gsm/umts and all.. do we even have an option in s660 or not.. m not able to find it so.. either its 3g when 3g is on otherwise always G is there..

    First of all thanks to everyone who contributed to this topic, got it all sorted because of the information here.
    However, went to the EE shop where I had absolutely no luck with the "person" who served me. Told me in an absolutely deplorable manner to go back and call EE again, refused to let me get my sim into a non-nokia 4G phone.
    Went next door to phones4u and got everything sorted. Girl even had to break open a new noteII to register the simcard. Kudos to Phones4u!
    Basically, get the sim registered in a different 4g phone. 3g phones are no good and new Lumias 920 will not solve the problem!

  • How to change the web server??

    How to change the web server in the details of the mobile application component in the MI webconsole??

    hello irene,
    had your tried checking on the "Use IP instead of host
    name" checkbox?
    to edit your registered application info, go to
    "Upload Mobile Component" tab and click on the Edit icon
    on the left part of the record list which corresponds to
    the application you had just uploaded.
    your application is uploaded to the same host as your
    web console application is running on. if you like to
    point it to a different server where you have your
    archive accessible, you have to change your mcd
    deployment attributes on your middleware. try the ff:
    1)run tcode: mi_mcd
    2)click on Create Mobile Component
    3)Enter Mobile Solution Name and Version
    4)Click on Display MCD
    5)Select Deployment Tab
    6)Click on Edit
    7)Change the values of WEBSERVER and WEBPATH location eg.
      if your archive is located at
      http://myotherserver:80/archive/myapplication.war
      your entry will be:
      WEBSERVER: http://myotherserver:80
      WEBPATH: /archive/myapplication.war
    where you myotherserver is the name of your http host
    server and myapplication.war is the name of your archive.
    the archive directory is just a virtual directory where
    your application archive is.
    you might need to change the port number depending on
    your http server port.

  • How to close other thread's InputStream?

    Hi,
    I am developing a multithreaded "JAVA CONSOLE APPLICATION".
    Brief description of application is like this:
    On initialising, application starts a new thread. In that it listens for the keyboard input from the user(System.in.read()). But it listens only for some time (5 seconds). After this time, this should be stopped and in main thread which is listening for the server application, should display information from the server and listen for the keyboard input from the user.
    But the problem is, it listens for two keyboard inputs. 1 in main thread and another in other thread as it doesn't get closed even though the thread is stopped.
    So how to close that InputStream so that application should listen for keyboard only in main thread?
    Thanx in Advance,
    Sameer Mahajan

    Not really sure if this works, as your description isn't clear.
    But for sockets, the following works :
    public void run { //the Threads/Runnable run method
       try {
          //do your stuff
       } finally {
          try {
             is.close(); //supposed 'is' is your InputStream
          } catch (IOException e) {}
    }Now, whenever the thread terminates, the InputStream will be closed.
    Maybe even if you use Thread.stop(), but this is deprecated,
    so better use Thread.interrupt() and flags.

  • Installing Mobile Repository Server DEV and QAS on same server

    Hi,
    i installed CRM Server 7.0 SR1 ABAP DEV and QAS on one server. Afterwards i installed the Communication Station DEV and QAS together on one server.
    Now i want to install the Mobile Repository Server (MRS) for DEV and QAS on one server. For DEV i have installed it successfully. But i don't know how to install it for QAS on the same server.
    The only answer i found is: Re: CRM Mobile installation
    Here is written that one of the repository database ARS_DB needs to be renamed.
    But my first question is:
    Do i have to install the MS SQL Server 2005 again for the QAS system? Only a default instance is supported and not a named instance. Can i install a default instance twice?
    What are the steps for installing the second MRS? Does anybody did it successfully?
    It would be very nice if someone could help me.
    I use SAP CRM Mobile 7.0 SP04 on Windows 2003 with MS SQL Server 2005 SP2.
    Kind regards
    Wolfgang

    Hello
    MRS requires SQL Server 2005. It is not possible to \have two MAR repositories with two default instances in a single machine.
    Installation might not allow you or throw an error  if you have more han one sql server defualt instance.
    Instead, you can stll follow the either of the following approaches:
    1. Use DEV MAR repositroy itself as a TST repository. It means, you will have one MAR for both DEV and TEST.You have to be cautious.
    2. * First install the DEV MAR in one machine.
    Configure DEV MAR to DEV CRM for transports.
    Restore the TEST MAR DB in DEV MAR machine.
    Also configure TEST MAR to TEST CRM server for Transports.
    Approach 2 avoids the second time installation. You should have the TEST MAR repository to restore. this option woudl work:)
    Best Regards
    Shankar
