How to close my lossing ipod touch?, how to close my lossing ipod touch?, how to close my lossing ipod touch?

i wanted to close it so whoever gets it no one its gonna use it.

Can't be done.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

Salve a tutti ho un problema... come si spegne l'ipone touch di 6° generazione?
*Hello I have a problem ... as you close the Ipone touch of 6th generation? Thanks

    Oh shoot.
Im extremely sorry for doing a mistake in the steps.
Im sure you know how to go the genius/repeat/shuffle control if you dont.
    Ill be more clearer.
    Step 1:
Open any song(just as an example ofcourse)
    Step 2:
You will find in the bottom of the screen under the album artwork two circles(sometimes 3 depending on the song). These circles are just like the home menu(the menu with 4-5 pages that u flick to press on Albums/Songs/Artists/Playlists/Nowplaying etc.).
    Step 3:
Flick the screen to the left(like ordinary) to go to the second page, you will find a big genius icon in the middle, on the left a repeat icon, on the right a shuffle.
    Step 4:
    Press on the shuffle icon(you will know its activated if its highlighted with blue..you cant miss it)And if you were already activating the shuffle press on it to remove the shuffle then press on it again, after doing this you will realize that under the song title(all of this is in the song itself...the place with the album artwork is previewing)..as i was saying..under the song title if the shuffle is activated once more from the beginning you find {{{{1 of *the number of songs you have*}}}}}
    Step 5:
Flick right to return to the first page.
    Step 6:
Press the previous button to go to the beginning of the song, after going to the beginning of the song press the previous button AGAIN to close the song.
    Step 7(note):
for the song to close you need to make sure that in the second page(the one with genius etc.) is written in it 1 of...that will indicate its the first song, and then your good to go.
    Step 8:
    Enjoy.
If these arent clear im sorry i cant get more clearer, unfortunately.
    Bye
    Hope this helps you

  • How loud should I keep my iPod Touch?

I've heard one can recieve hearing loss listening to anything above 80 dB for a certain length of time. How loud should I keep the volume on my iPod Touch. Also, does anyone know how many dB each volume "block" is worth?

You are close to the mark.  There are similar "standards" extant regarding the wearing of hearing protection.  When I was on active duty in the Navy, I had to wear double hearing protection (ear plugs and ear muffs) on the flight deck (DUH!!!) , in most engineering spaces (engine rooms, fire rooms, catapault machinery rooms, etc.) and during small arms training/qualifications.  Inspite of all of that, after serving for over 21 years I have enough hearing loss to require hearing aids.
The best way to describe what happens is similar to what happens when you walk on your front lawn.  You can do it a few times will little or no apparent damage, but over time you will wear out a path in your yard.   Hearing loss is the same way.
Do your self a favor:  Keep the volume as low as possible and limit the amount of time you listen using ear buds.  If you cannot hear someone talking over your music, the music is too loud.  Also, do not insert ear buds far enough to make a seal.  You may get a "better sound" but the sealing effect traps the air pressure fluctuations in the ear canal, intensifying not only the sound level, but also decreasing the time it takes to cause damage to your hearing.
Here are some links to more information:

    http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=20354
    http://www.stjohnprovidence.org/STJohnAudiology/PreventingHearingLoss/
Finally, the volume graphic is no where close to being a qualitative measure of how many dBs your ear buds are generating.

  • How do I stop the Atomic Browser on my iPod Touch from allowing websites to automatically load my App Store app?

I have the Bejeweled Blitz app (for Facebooik) on my iPod Touch 4th gen.  If I want to find gems (special items used in Bejeweled) I have to use a browser (I'm using Atomic Browser) on my iPod so I can grab gems from Facebook's news feed.  What's SUPPOSE to happen is this:
I set Atomic on my iPod to identify itself as Safari mobile (because the Bejeweled Blitz app on the iPod only recognizes Safari).
I load my Bejeweled app on my ipod.
I log into Facebook with Atomic and scan the news feed for gems and click on a gem.Atomic opens a new tab and tries to load the link.My iPod then switches from Atomic to my Bejeweled Blitz app and the gem appears in my game.
When I'm done with the game, I double click Home and swtich back to Atomic.
I close the new tab and search the news feed for the next gem.
HOWEVER, the problem is this:  About two-thirds of the time, when Atomic opens a new tab to load the link, instead of my iPod swtching to Bejeweled Blitz, it opens my App Store app and takes me to the Bejeweled Blitz app download page.  Sometimes the problem occurs when I'm done with my game:  i.e., when I go back to the browser, the iPod swtiches from Atomic and loads the App Store app before I even have a chance to close the tab.  It's a big pain in the neck because it takes a long time for the App Store app to load and when I go back to my Bejeweled Bltz app, it acts like it got dumped from memory and has to restart.
So... How do I make it so that my App Store app ONLY loads when I personally select the app myself?

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • My iPod Touch 4G's screen has gone white and has lines on the screen. How do I fix it? Help!

    Hello everyone,
I've had an iPod Touch 4th generation for a few years now, and, today, for the first time, the screen has gone white and their are vertical lines on it. What happened was I accidentally dropped my iPod Touch on tile and it landed on its back. I tried it out right afterwards to see if it was still working and it seemed like it was perfectly fine. Later on, I got an email from one of my friends, so I slid the email button on the lock screen to see the email. In the email, there was a link to a gif image, so I opened it in Safari. After I was done with it, I closed that tab. I also had a second tab open from earlier, so I wanted to close that tab as well. When I clicked on the button to see all tabs and close one, the screen completely froze. I held on to the on/off button on the top of the iPod, and, after about a minute, the screen switched to a completely white screen with lines on it. I've tried holding onto the on/off button again and it doesn't work. I also tried plugging it into my Windows 7 computer and opening iTunes, but my computer doesn't even recognized it is plugged in. It won't appear under the "computer" section in Windows Explorer, which will allow me to do USB-related tasks with it. iTunes doesn't recognize that it is plugged in either, so I can't do anything like restore the iPod to factory settings. The home button on my iPod hasn't been working for a while so i've always been using the accessibility feature that gives me a home button on the screen. Now that I can't access that, I can't hold down both the on/off button and the home button at the same time. What should I do? Should I send it in to Apple for repairs (which I won't do and would rather buy a new iPod Touch)? I am thinking of just leaving it to, hopefully, have the battery drain and the iPod would die. Then, I could charge it and see what happens. Other than that, i'm just clueless right now and I have no idea what I should do. Please help me!
My iPod Touch is an iPod Touch 4th generation model with 8GB. It is running iOS 5.1.1.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have used my current iTunes 5 times on different iPods through loss and breakage etc. I have my 6th iPod, how can I sync all my current music onto it if this iTunes has come to it's limit of devices?

Through damage, loss and resetting computers, my iTunes has synced itself to 5 devices (which I believe is the max) but I currently have my 6th iPod touch and need to know how to keep all this music and put it onto this other iPod. Do I create another Apple ID? Is it possible?

You can have 10 devices associated with your iTunes account for iCloud purposes. See:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
You can have five computers authorized for one iTunes account. See:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
Just what are you trying to do and what message do you get?

  • I want to sync a second ipod touch to itunes, however my daughter has some how registered the new ipod  under my sons old one, she has deleted asll content and i have now reset it, how do i stop it being recognised as the old one

my daughters new ipod touch is being recognised as my sons old one on itunes, this has caused the ipod to lock and she has lost all content. i now want to get itunes to recognise her new ipod , but it is still recognising it as the old one, how can i sort this out

Does both your Windows and Macbook iTunes have the same library of songs?
if it  does then, much easier to proceed, else try to load the Macbook with the same library as Windows.
Note that only one of the Macbook USB port is good for iPod Classic, the other is too slow and may cause timeout, and I would suggest disconnect all other USB devices, while you Restore or Sync the iPod Classic.
Connect the iPod to the Mac, (if iTunes launch, please close it back.)
Use Disk Utility -> select the iPod Device->First Aid->Repair (use option FAT32)
After the Repair complete, eject the iPod.
    Connect back to the Mac
When iTunes launch, Restore the iPod when Prompted, (use FAT32)
    Sync your library.
    Good Luck!

  • How can I locate my lost iPod touch within my WiFi network range?!

I am still using my 1st gen iPod touch from 2008 for apps and music and other uses.  I rely on it quite a bit although of course I have a separate cell phone for now (will eventually get an iPhone).  However, I synced it with iTunes right before going on a long shopping spree Thursday afternoon then hooked it to my car's stereo system to listen to as I often do.  Upon returning home, tired and with multiple bags, I was trying to juggle them all on several trips from my car to front door (about 30 ft.).  The iPod touch always picks up my WiFi network in my car as soon as I pull in, and with my hands full on my last trip I realized I'd forgotten to disconnect my iPod touch so I could bring it in too.  I'll admit I was getting bogged down and annoyed so I disconnected it then remember also dropping some bags and picking them up from the parking space.  An hour later, after finally getting most bags and myself at least somewhat settled, I remembered I hadn't reconnected my iPod touch to its JBL docking system.  I soon realized I couldn't find it in the house and went with a flashlight to look in the car and outside between the house and car.  I searched for hours in all likely places and again the next day.  I also thought about an hour after losing it to check AirPort Utility's advanced pane which includes the logs, wireless clients and DHCP clients.  Sure enough it was still picking the device up, every 30 minutes or so periodically showing "binding added" and "binded dropped" for my iPod's IP address via NAT, and also "associated with" and "disassociated with" the iPod's unique MAC address.
My worst fear was that I dropped it outside and someone dishonest took it, but that seems unlikely because I really don't have those kinds of neighbors and I searched immediately for it everywhere it could be (in my car, under it, outside everywhere I walked, in the house in the oddest places like under furniture, in discarded shopping bags, the trash can and even the freezer!  Sure enough, for 13 hours AirPort Utility showed activity contacting (or detecting) the device as mentioned above, until about 9:30 the next morning.  Since then there has been no log activity detected, and the device itself listed with MAC address has also disappeared under the "DHCP Clients" pane of AirPort Utility. I realize this could simply be the battery dying after all this time (although it should be in sleep mode), but the point is it was close by for all that time even after I'd searched for it, so it is unlikely someone found it easily after I searched everywhere I'd been in the short distance from parked car to home.  It also has a black rubber "suit" so the entire thin 8GB device is thin and completely black all over, further disguising it, especially at night.
My question is that since this is not an iPhone and I cannot "call it" to find it, and it is only a 1st gen. iPod touch without a built-in speaker to make loud noises unless hooked to headphones or a line output, how can I find it?  It does make the tiny super high-pitched digital beeps when I get a "push" notification but I don't see how that does me any good unless someone from an app I use tries to contact me while I'm in extremely close proximity to hear those faint tones. Anyway, I really do need it and it's driving me crazy knowing it is within such a short range from me either inside my house or car (or outside in a short straight path from car to my doorstep) yet I am helpless.  Is there anything anyone can suggest?  It's almost worst than knowing I lost it anywhere, because I know it's here, but want to find it soon before someone else does (if outside) or the trash gets thrown out (if it fell in there) or it gets run over if on the street somewhere I missed.

There is no way to automatcally locate it.
Since WiFi does not travel far talk to your neighbors. Perhaps one of them (or their children) found your iPod.
If this does not work make a more thorough search of your house to find it.

  • How can i update my ipod touch to 4.3.3 it always come out with 3194 error

    Step 1 – Open the Terminal.app
Either by start typing Terminal on the Spotlight, or by going into Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal.
Step 2 – Open the hosts file
Open the hosts by typing on the Terminal that you have just opened:
