How to close programaticaly  IE window which FileDownload opens ?

Hi there
I have popup with FileDownload control on it. Clicking the link(FileDownload) system opens IE window with small "Download" window (open,save,cancel).
The question is how to close programmatically this IE window after download (or open) is complete ?
I don't want the user to have to do that manually ?
Thanks

Stefan,
Have you set "attachment" type for your binary resource?
If you are using NW04s (7.00) then make sure you specified:
final IWDResource resource = <...>;
resource.setAttachement( false );
If you are using NW04 (6.40) then:
final ISimpleTypeModifiable mtype = attr.getModifiableSimpleType();
final IWDModifiableBinaryType btype = (IWDModifiableBinaryType)mtype;
btype.setMimeType(
  new WDWebResourceType("xls", "application/vnd.ms-excel", true/* is Attachemnt */)

  • How to close a popup window for system events?

    Hi,
    I have a screen 110 which shows several input field in popup mode.
    The Cancel button can close the screen.
    But my question is how to close the popup window for the following system events?
    1, Customer clicks the cross button in top-right corner
    2, Customer clicks the system icon in top-left corner and then select either: "Close" or "Stop Session"
    The PAI subroutine of the screen has not been triggered for the above system events.
    Thanks for the coming help.
    Best Regards,
    David

    Hi Siddharth,
    I did check with another very experienced ABAP developer.
    The solution was the same as what Arunima Rudra provided.
    And I got a sample program which did work properly.
    The headache is that the system events in my program still cannot be triggered even after I have all the same changes.
    Anyway, I suggest you to try the solution as provided by Arunima Rudra.
    It should work for 2 system events:
    1, Customer clicks the cross button in top-right corner
    2, Customer clicks the system icon in top-left corner and then select either: "Close"
    For "Stop Session", it should not be handled by popup.
    You can observe the same behavior in ALV sorting configuration popup.
    Good luck!

    David

  • How to close only one window

    hi,
    I'm developing a java application which will involve a pop up text box (a JPanel). This has a JButton that when pressed will cause the pop up box to close but not the actual application. I've tried System.exit(0); but this causes the entire application to close.
    Could someone tell me how to close the window but keep the application running.
    Cheers

    Switch it to invisible, and dispose it.

  • How to close a popup window in a used component?

    Hi Experts,
    I have two applications in the same project, and they each have one component controller. Let they be component A and B. They have similar functionalities and screens. There is a popup window in A that I would like to use in B instead of creating a new popup window in B, so I added a used component of A in B in order to share the popup window. I am able to click a button in B to get a popup window from A successfully, but I am unable to close the popup window since the event has been created in A.
    Can anyone suggest me how to fix this please? I would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    -Napadol

    Hi,
    You can either use the approach above, which is having an Attribute, type IWDWindow in B's Component Context. When you open the popup you store the reference. When you click close you get that reference back and destroy the window.
    Note, I'd suggest you to have your "View" with no Close Button. Then in Component A you create another View that has an UIViewContainer with your Popup View. You can code the Close code in Component A.
    This way you can do the same and have a code in Component B to close your window.
    Other way would be having it as a Component variable and using the Component Interface on A (create a Method) that goes to Component A and destroy that instance.

  • HT204365 I opened a PDF in iBooks, but I don't know how to close it. Every time I open iBooks the PDF opens with no option to close. Any suggestions on how to get back to book shelf?

    I opened a PDF in iBooks, but now I can not close it. Every time I open iBooks, the PDF is opened and I can't close it. Any suggestions on how to close it and get back to the book shelf?

    Do you have an icon at the top of the page that says 'Library'? Tap that to get back. If not, just tap on the page that shows up and this should bring up the icons at the top for Library, another for the contents of the book, and the text size, search, and bookmark.

  • How to close one browser window and return to a named anchor on a page in another window

    I'm working on a website that has several book images at the bottom of each page. I have set it up so when the user clicks on a book another smaller browser window opens up with a description of the book. At the bottom of book description window, I have a close button which I added the window.close() behavior to. But I'd like to not just have the window close but return the user to the bottom of the original page where I have the books, an area that I have applied a named anchor to. Any ideas on how I can get this done.
    I'd appreciate any and all help.

    I haven't tried to customize this lightbox extension much.  But I'm pretty sure the size of the box is pre-determined by image size.  Bigger image, bigger box.  And that is coded into one of the Lightbox javascript libraries.
    As to placing a link in the caption, sure.  Just paste your html link code into the Lightbox Caption Panel like so.
    <a href="http://amazon.com"> Buy now from Amazon</a>
    There is much more detailed information about Lightbox and how it works at the huddled together website.

  • How to get the URL of the window which is opened as a dialog

    Hi All,
    I am working on BPM Worklist and in BPM Worklist we have created a Custom ADF Application.
    What BPM Worklist does is :- it shows the task associated to the user and when user double click on the task , it opens the custom ADF Page created by us.And it opens the ADF Page in the modal dialog.Since i do not have any control on the parent page which is the BPM Worklist page.
    I need to check whether the url contains the _ADFvDlg , if it contains then i need to put some logic and then executes something.
    Is there any way to find out the Url of the dialog window of the BPM Worklist using ADF not using javascript ?
    Regards,
    Shah

    Hi Frank,
    I have used the method which u have said in phaseListener
    System.out.println("GOT URL"+((HttpServletRequest) facesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest()).getRequestURL());
    System.out.println("GOT URI"+((HttpServletRequest) facesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest()).getRequestURI());
    but no help, it gives me the same url of both the pages(parent and dialog one).
    Say if i use the javascript and anyhow get the windowId of the dialog and pass it to the server onPageLoad then it can be helpful.
    But how to do that as well.?
    I mean how will i call the javascript and return url to the server and do the validations on PageLoad.
    Please suggest!!

    Shah

  • How to close my program windows?

    Hey
    One thing I have noticed about apple computers is that you don't just X your programs out, you need to click the program up on the left and click "Close Safari" for example or they don't close correctly, or do they? Because when I just x out my programs / applications I don't know if my macbook closes them? I'm also wondering, if you could x them out, there wouldn't be no option to need to close them which apple computers offer, or by also pressing CMD (Command) plus Q. So I'm just wondering, is it enough by just x'ing or what's this deal about
    Thanks in advance

    What you are running into is a basic difference between Macs and Windows. In Windows, every application is contained in an enclosing window with its own menu bar. Inside that are the document windows. When you click the X in the enclosing window, you X-out the entire application and it quits. You can also click X in document windows to close them without closing the entire application, but you can always be sure the clicking the X on the application window will always close the application.
    In OS X the enclosing window is optional. This leads to a lot of confusion with new users because of the inconsistency in the user interface. In OS X, some apps use an enclosing window like iPhoto. If you mouse over the red button you see an X, if you click that it works like Windows where the program quits. But some applications like TextEdit do not have an enclosing window so if you click the red button/X you are only closing a window, and the application stays open.
    In general, if it is a single-window application, clicking the red X button closes the entire program; if it is a multiple-window program you must use the Quit command instead. But this is still confusing because you may not have advance knowledge of whether an application is single or multiple window. The user experience on Windows is a bit more consistent in this area.
    To keep things simple on the Mac, it's best to not try and figure out what kind of program it is, forget about whether you should be clicking this or that, and instead just use File/Quit or command-Q to close an app because that works every time.
