How to combine ejb3 module outside web service .ear folder?

I try to integrate web service and ejb3 module. My EJB3 module is outside web service .ear folder.
How can i integrate web service and outside ejb3 module?
In application.xml of .ear folder, I typed

Obviously, you cannot do this. What you are doing is adopt a child on paper and then deny it access to your house.
Either integrate the EJB into the EAR, or communicate with the EJB using its remote interface.

I want to expose the ADF BC Application functionality (DML, calling of procedures) via Web Service.

Remoteable Application Module, select J2EE Web Service in the Available list

4. Then click OK to save your changes.
When I follow this series of actions I get the following error:

How to access (any) soap / rest web services from widget

Hi all,
Is there an API, javascript library etc, which allows accessing (any) soap / rest webservices from widgets?
I know I can access web services from sap j2ee with widget foundation, but I'm still not sure how to access "outside"
web services.

With Web service action block you can view all ME available services
in I.E
https://sapme:5000/manufacturing-services/ProductionServiceService?wsdl you could see your FutureHold service
To do that in MII, you need Web Service action block. Have you work with MII transaction before?

Hello! I'm Razvan, programmer from Romnia, and I am new to GroupWise development.
I am asking if anyone could help me with a C# Visual Studio 2010 example of how to install and consume GroupWise Web Service (SOAP).
The documentation from novell site didn't help me, i didn't understant much of it.
All I need is either a link to a documented GroupWise C# developer step-by-step tutorial, or some code examples.
Can you please show me some code examples in C# with:
1)loging in using a username and a password,
2)retrieving contact list,
3)retrieving appointment list,
4)sending a mail,
5)setting an appointment
I don't know how to use "groupwise.wsdl" and customise it so that it points to our GroupWise server.
Please, I really need this because I am working at a project right now which involves GroupWise integration.
I hope I haven't disturbed anyone with my simple question.

Benefits of exposing function module as web services

Hi All,
We are developing a case study about exposing function modules as web services.
Those web services would be later used for integration to SAP box with a Java application.
Kindly help me with the pros and cons of exposing function modules as web services when compared to SAP PI. Also please do quote some examples, wherever possible.

Pros--->
1)Exposing FM as Web Services is indeed a good choice when you want service consumer to be platform and language independent.
i.e it can be consumed by .Net, java or any other language.
2) You are moving towards SOA
3) Composing Business Process by concatenating different functional modules is easy.
4) Complexity is less while consuming services Java, CAF etc.
Cons----> Performance for Web Services is comparatively less than JCo .
If you are bringing PI in between landscape, you are increasing one more layer of middleware which would also hit performance.
The benefit which PI can give is monitoring your company wide integrations at one central point when you have huge systems.

r u releasing the web service for FMs
here r the steps.
To release FMs as webservice it should be RFC enabled.
then goto SE80 and search for the FM u want to release web service.
then right click on the FM
then Create->web service
then give the web service name then continue.
click on chk box for relase run time.
then assign one request and package
now goto WSADMIN tcode ahere u can see ur webservice and then use that.

Hi Sudhakar,
If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.

Let your web service start its own background thread (*) somehow and move your business logic from web service to this thread. Then you can return from your web service. The client won't be blocked and your application will run on your server after service callout will be finished.
I hope that's what you need. Anyway, there is only "asynchronous communication" and nothing like "asynchronous web service". At least from HTTP point of view, every call is synchronous - you have request and response.
(*) You shouldn't start your own thread since you are in JEE world. Look at documentation for your container. E.g. for weblogic there are workers you can use this way. Or you can choose the other way. I hope that for any container you can just enqueue your web service request to any JMS queue and move your business logic to an appropriate MDB. Then, your web service will be just a simple JMS producer and your web service client won't be forced to wait for business logic to finish.
Last but not least, next time choose a better forum. :-)

What is the advantage of migrating BAPI & RFC function modules into web services?

Hi.
That's a very good question. Why did you ask it, are you considering doing so?
I wouldn't think there would be any performance advantages using WebServices.
You could make your BAPI's available for other systems than Web Dynpro or SAP systems by turning them into WebServices.
That could be an issue when you want to use different integration engines perhaps.
A WebService might also be better for dealing with large number of requests I guess.
When dealing with XML you can also use the advantage of XSLT for validating your data.
The main advantages would still be the availability of your service for non-SAP systems.

Combine Annotation Driven EJB Web Services with BPEL

We developed two Annotation Driven EJB Web Service and deployed successfully .
webservice 1 accepts username and password as input and returns true if ldap authentication is successful.
webservice 2 accepts username and password,and groupname as input and returns true if user is part of ldap group.
How can we combine these two services in SOA with input (username,password,group) and output (isAuthenticated ,isGroupMember) using BPEL process...

I will create a schema with input as (username,password,group) and Output as (isAuthenticated ,isGroupMember).
Then based on your requirement you have to create either Sync or Async service.
From the BPEL process i will call the 2 webservices using webservice call.
On receiving the result, populate the output variable(isAuthenticated ,isGroupMember) and send as response.
