How to complete disable the option to "restore previous session"?

I wish to disable the option to "restore previous session".
This should be disabled from the History tab.

Maybe disable session restore.

  • Where is the option to restore previous session?

I just upgraded firefox to version 29 and the dropdown menu in the upper left corner is gone. I can't find the options menu. I can search history, but I can't find the option to restore previous session. Ctrl+shift+t works to open tabs in the current session but it will not restore my previous session.
How do I restore my previous session?

I am experiencing the same problem and the option is greyed out. I also have it set to open at my last session which is not working either.

  • In the "history" dropdown, there is an option to "restore previous session". i want to take this option away completely.

i am not talking about crashes or my home page. i am talking about the option in the history drop down that enables anyone who comes behind me to restore my session after i am gone.

cor-el, i have read multiple threads with this question, and you always seem to post these links. i do not think that you are understanding the question properly. i read the first link you posted, and the most relevant item was "disabling session store completely". so i went into about:config, and did what i was told. i set the preferences browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo and browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo to 0. '''this doesnt work'''. after i do this, i close firefox, and reopen. in the history dropdown there is ''still'' an option to restore previous session, i click it and it restores session.
diego, your answer isnt what i was hoping for. i would like to remain signed into the pages i frequent. such as gmail, youtube, ect. your solution signs me out of everything every time. so, though technically it works, this isnt the option i want to use. but after tinkering with the options in this section i figured it out for anyone else with my same concerns:
'''''go to: tools > options > privacy, in the "history" pane, check "clear history when firefox closes", click settings for that option, check "browsing and download history". '''''

  • How to completely disable the function of hotspots

Hello everyone, this is my first time in the forum, I am looking for a way to neutralize the function of individual access points - HOTSPOT, I mean neutralization through the system, not through the normal shutdown settings
    Thank you all

    hi, michael.
Thank you for the quick response,
    Excuse me for my tongue,
Hard to express myself that well,
    The point is this:
I have an iPhone 4, sometimes the device is with people who work with me,
    Or with friends,
They connect the device to their computer and play in the internet,
They finish the transaction with my cellular company,
If they play with the device - no problem,
But to connect to a computer - it is a problem!
So I want to completely disable the option of hotspots
    And again,
    Pardon my language

  • After quitting FF 8.01 on a Mac with OSX 10.5, restarting the Mac then starting FF, the offer to Restore Previous Session is grayed out. Is there any way I can recover the list of pages open when FF was last quit?

Had about 15 windows w/ tabs open. System was a little sluggish and had not been rebooted in weeks so I Quit FIREFOX. Restarted the Mac, then FIREFOX. Option to Restore Previous Session was grayed out. I haven't used that computer since, hoping not to overwrite record of previous session.
I've used the Restore Previous Session feature many times before without any problems.

You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • How I can disable the option "Full Screen Multimedia"?

I am creating a PDF that contains a video. I need to disable the option "full multimedia screen" that appears when I press the right mouse button on the video.
I am using Acrobat X PRO.
    Thanks !!

    My workaround...
    - Convert Vedio to SWF (using Media Encoder + Flash Pro or 3rd party utilities)
    - Import the SWF Video to Acrobat
    - In the "Edit SWF" -> "SWF" -> Select "Pass context menu click to SWF"
    - Assign Document Permission to lock the setting
The playback control will pass to Flash Player, it will disable the "View in Floating Windows" and "Full Scrren MultiMedia"

  • Suggestion: add the option "auto restore last session on program start"

I know about "reopen all the windows from the last session" in the History menu. I would like to have the option of automatic reopen.
And would be more convenient to swap buttons "Add to favorites" and "Refresh page" (screenshot: http://img198.imageshack.us/i/clip6s.jpg/)

And a few Apple employees from time to time
I filed <rdar://problem/6985427>, feel free to reference this number if you want to file a separate bug on bugreport.apple.com

  • FF hung up on launch, resulting in skipping option to restore previous session.

when i use about:sessionrestore, it doesn't show previous session. i keep my life in open tabs and seriously feel hopeless about losing my 92 open tabs. lost and useless. is there any way to recover (that doesn't require an IT background)
yes, i should probably bookmark, but it's a pain to organize bookmarks, i just use the open tabs and the windows to organize.

  • HT201272 I had to download and pay for the upgraded version of Song Pop TWICE !! I don't like having to do that... I could not find anywhere on the phone where it gives you the option to restore previous purchase...

I would like to get a credit to my account for the 1.99 I have had to spend twice to purchase the Song Pop version that is upgraded. I am sure you can check my account and see that I have purchased it twice.

We are all itunes users just like you.  no one here can check your account.
Here is how you redownload past purchases:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • How do I disable the History | Restore Previous Sesssion option. It is a privacy issue.

Hi I have upgraded to firefox 4.
It seems that no matter how I shut down firefox or what security settings I use the options History | Restore Previous Session is always enabled when I restart firefox.
This is the same big button that appears on the default firefox browser home page.
Even if I shut down with only one tab open it still has the option available and that goes back to the single tab.
Clearing history before shutting down firefox does not help.
I found the web page where someone had actually requested this functionality but niether of the pricay settings he suggested to tweak this feature did anything when adjusted.
    These were:
    browser.sessionstore.privacy_level
    browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred
    in about:config
How do I get rid of this menu item/'feature' ?
I tried turning on browser.showQuitWarning in about:config as suggested on another site and that givs me the 'do you want to save your session tabs' dialog when I shut firefox like it used to in firefox 3.x. So I was semi happy with this. However this did not stop the Restore previous Session being available even if I selected quit (no dont save tabs option) on the dialog.
I do not want to be able to restore the previous session unless:
    a) firefox crashed
    or
    b) I expressly told it to save my session on shutdown.
I also have the tools | options | general | when firefox starts set to 'show my home page'. So I dont think thats related.
    Cheers.
    Anyhelp appreciated.

    To Response: cor_el
Thanks. Following that link I worked out how to clear the history automatically on shutdown.
Having firefox auto clear my history ensures the 'Restore Presvious Session' is not available next time firefox starts.
However, if I then want to force it to save my session on shut down I cant. I can get the 'Do you want to save your session' dialog, as in firefox 3.6x, by having about:config browser.showQuitWarning set to true. After restarting firfox however my tabs are not restored.

  • How do I turn off "restore previous session"?

When I open FireFox-it gives me the option to "restore previous setting" How do I turn this feature off?

    Hi Tater23,
Try going to ''Tools > Options > General'' and see if you have set Firefox to restore your previous session on startup. For detailed information on setting up the homepage, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • I want to remove "Restore Previous Session" without disabling crash/tab restore and history

I have checked "Clear history when ff closes" & "Active logins" / "Saved passwords" but nothing.
The options of restoring a session after a crash and reopening an accidentally closed tab are great, but I just can't feel ok that everyone on my pc can restore a whole session with an email (facebook, forum, etc) account logged in with the "Restore Previous Session" "feature", if I forgot to log out before closing Firefox.
For me this is a big privacy issue. Please don't make me switch to Chrome!

I managed to remove the "Restore Previous Session" button from the home page by changing my default home page with this : www.google.com/firefox/ (the default home page from the previous versions of Firefox). It worked for me, I hope it works for you too.

  • I have many important Website in restore previous session, but i remove it by accident

i have many important Website in restore previous session, but i remove it by accident
how can i save my last last restore previous session?
    thank you

It might already be too late, but you can try to look under the History menu (click the orange Firefox logo at the top left corner). Under History, you can find items like "Restore Previous Session" (which might already be disabled as you've already opened new tabs), and also "Recently Closed Windows".
    More info here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Session-Restore

  • Can I avoid having "Restore Previous Session" box when launching?

After opening Firefox and then closing it normally (with the red X or using File | Exit), then the next time I open Firefox there is a blue window in the lower middle of the screen to "Restore Previous Session." What if I don't want that window there? There was no fault, no crash of any kind. I've disabled the "restore session after crash" but that didn't help.
I do want the browser to remember my browsing history to help fill in the address bar.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" if you want to restore multiple windows.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
Firefox 4 uses a new build-in home page called about:home
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.
If you want a home page without the Restore Previous Session then set another page as the home page like www.google.com or www.google.com/firefox used in Firefox 3 versions.
