How to "completely" reinstall FF, and recover ONLY cookies & Bookmarks?

I installed FF 3.6.10, and made the mistake of importing IE8 Settings (hooks...!), along with Bookmarks & cookies!
FF has been my primary browser for quite awhile, and I have added Many new bookmarks/cookies.
Now I want to "completely" uninstall 3.6.10, and install 3.6.11.
I want to recover Only FF cookies & Bookmarks, and Not import anything from IE8?- no Settings for sure!?
How can this be done?

Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

Wow, I love it when people tell you how "millions of people aren't having problems" or "let's troubleshoot" ... good thing you folks don't work for Apple customer support. Okay, here's the deal:
Ipad2 updated to ios6. Sound cuts out after a few seconds. in "Music" app, there is no slider for volume ... in task bar at bottom (far left), there is no slider for volume. When you use the rocker for volume on the side, up pops the symbol for "sound effects" (not the volume indicator graphic). Switch the button to or from "lock rotation" and that does nothing. In alarm clock, sounds work fine ... on random occasions the unlock slider has a click, then all sounds disappear.
I reinstalled and reverted to default settings ... nothing changes. Reset the thing a few hundred times ... nothing. When I resinstalled, I installed no apps at first ... nothing.
I have tried every suggestion that people have put up here and none of them work. I have never had an update that even approaches how bad this one has been (I have nine Macs, 3 iPads, and 3 Ipod touches .... never have I seen such a ****** update).

You can't. Change your passwords and cancel any credit cards you may have used while on the computer.

How do i reinstall Firefox and save all my favorites?

I have Firefox as my default browser and Google Search Page as my homepage. However when I click on a new tab, the pesky AVG search page comes up and i can't get rid of it. From what I have read, it looks like reinstalling Firefox is the only way to remedy this. But i want to save my Favorites, especially those on the bookmarks toolbar.

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

How do we sync contacts and calendars (ONLY) between two iCloud accounts, two iPhones and one iMac with two user accounts?

This is complex. Until today we had one iMac with two user accounts - one for me and the other for my wife. We sync'd our calendars and contacts between our two user accounts using my iCloud account, thereby keeping our schedules coordinated and our contacts information always the same between us. Also, as I had an iPhone, I sync'd my phone with my iCloud account, thereby keeping the contacts and calendars in the two user accounts on the iMac AND my iPhone sync'd. (I also sync'd other things, like Notes and Mail and Safari settings, between my iPhone and my user account on the iMac, but my wife did not want to be burdened with all my emails showing up in her email account and I wasn't interested in hers, etc., so we didn't sync anything between us other than calendars and contacts.)
We've finally bought my wife an iPhone and set up an iCloud account for her. And of course she now wants to sync several items from HER account on our iMac to HER iPhone, but I don't want them, just as she doesn't want all of my other stuff. But we still want our mutual calendars and contacts to sync to HER new iPhone, just like they already do to mine. But I can't figure out how to CHANGE her iMac user account from using MY iCloud account on the iMac to using HER new iCloud account, and then having HER iCloud account speak to MY iCloud account but share JUST our calendars and contacts.
Originally I tried a workaround by simply having her iPhone log into my iCloud account. That works great for the calendars and the contacts. But...she can't sync anything else from her iMac account to her new iPhone because she's presently "forced" to use my iCloud account. And neither of us want to sync our other things to each other's iMac accounts or iPhones. Also as we're both using my iCloud account, in things like the Find My iPhone app, the Cloud is seeking two phones labeled with my name and none with her's. So we definitely don't want this as the set-up and communications network between our devices.
We want to set up our users on the iMac to sync to our SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT iCloud accounts and then have those iCloud accounts sync calendars and contacts (ONLY) between themselves, and then push that data to our separate iPhones (or the other way, from either of our iPhones to the individual accounts on our iMac and the other person's iPhone). Does this description make sense to you? I've diagramed it nicely using Keynote, but even thiough I can draw it, I can't figure out how to set up and configure all the devices to make it work. I had the same problem, and decided to look into it last night.
First of all, the solution I would like to have is for Apple to allow for selection of iCloud accounts per application, i.e. Contacts to one, Photo Stream to another. I believe this would be the most straight forward solution for the problem we are facing.
Since this is not an option I came up with a workaround. I was most interested in solving this for Contacts, so this is what I tested for. Now I have all 3 devices with the same contacts.
1) Turn off iCloud for Contacts on all devices. On the device that has the Contacts list that you would like to propagate to all others select to keep the contacts, and on the others select not to keep them.
Note that the current backups still exist on iCloud, so in case something goes wrong you can still turn the iCloud for Contacts back on to get your current Contacts back.
2) In iTunes, sync All Contacts with the phones, starting with the one with the Contacts content you chose to keep.
From this point on, the 3 devices should sync contacts with each other.
This, of course, will stop your iCloud backups of Contacts, but I don't think this is really needed. You are already storing copies of your Conacts on 3 devices, which for good parts of the day are likely not all co-located. You also potentially have Time Machine backups turned on, which would mean there is a 4th copy there as well. For the case of Contacts iCloud only complicates matter ... that is until Apple implements the solution I first wrote about.

When printing (in the properties for the printer) there is no option whether to print in black and white only or not. Please help me get that option. And please tell me how I can save toner.

You can get this accomplished within most word/printing applications or preferences by selecting 'Greyscale' printing or black and white only.

For my JSP case I have converted above output's program in javabean I want to print only tagID and other values in a table in my JSP page. Could anybody let me know how to ignore the unnecessary data and print only values after EVT:TAG in three columns and rows, besically rows are not fixed because it depends on reader how many tags it detects?

I have Windows Vista and I need to COMPLETELY remove Safari and ALL its files. It is important that it is completely removed, and I've already tried simply uninstalling (from "uninstall a program" in the control panel)it but it doesn't get rid of EVERYTHING safari. I think some of the files are damaged or something because Safari won't open. How would I do this?

Just go into Control panel and Uninstall programs. Select Safari and select uninstall.

How to remove OpenType fonts and leave only TrueType?

in Font Book there are some fonts being both OpenType and TrueType, and some only TrueType. Because of some compatibility issues I'd like to have only TT fonts (remove an OpenType version of those fonts that have two kinds). Could you explain me how to do it?

I think, you should avoid the fonts to appear in the exported PDF in the first place, not manually remove them.
In the export/conversion settings you can usually select between, like, "embed only used fonts" or "embed no fonts at all".
Also, non-embedded fonts are not embedded - so why care about them? The PDF just contains information on the used fonts from the application you used to make the PDF (Word), for font substitution.
" fonts list to be bloated with fonts I don't actually use." What does that mean? What font list? Do you think that the embedded font of a PDF will be installed on the system somebody watches the PDF on? If so, then no, it won't.

How to print in black and white only on hp photosmart 6520

Cannot find a place to select print in black and white only on my HP Photosmart 6520 printer.
It prints color just fine, but sometimes I do not want to use my color cartridges. I selected B&W instead of gray scale, but cannot stop the color printing.

Double click printer icon on desktop,
Clich Set Preferences
Click Advanced
Under Grayscale, select Black ink only
Click Ok/Apply ..
Please note: the printer still need color inks during warming up process.

How to do a "Find and Replace" only on html or htm documents

I am trying to add some Java script to every page in a website that is a html or htm before the </body> tag.
The site contains other file types and the find function is ofcourse picking those up as well. Since the site has over two-thousand pages it would be very labor intensive to click through them all.
Any ideas would be very helpful.

I wouldn't be worried about anything but the *.sql files. If an asp or aspx file matches that tag pair, then you would want to add the analytics code anyhow.
Nevertheless, the only other way I can think of to do what you want would be to sort the file list by type, and select only the *.html and *.htm files before running the find and replace against the selected files.
