How to completely remove the Creative packa

I've been dealing with an ongoing issue with my Audigy2 Platinum since upgrading from W2K Pro to XP Pro. Initially, everything worked well, however, when I opted to use the WebUpdate, things rapidly fell apart... I manually removed the folders and entries in the registry, and tried re-installing, to no avail. I was able to at least access the EAX, speaker settings, and mixer from the task bar icon, but... since last updating the drivers, even that is gone, tells me the programs are not installed. I've used the repair feature on my install CD, same problem. Diagnostics tells me that only the hardware and Directsound are working, everything else fails, running the fix has no effect...
What I need to know is a method to COMPLETELY remove everything regarding the sound card from my system, including the card, and then installing it once more, and hoping beyond hope that I can once more be able to use my card. As it stands now, regardless of what settings I employ in the Windows sound panel, only the front channels and the subwoofer work. The rest of the speakers do "hiss", but no sound is coming from them... Before updating the drivers, I was at least able to set things to 5., and get some sound from the speakers, and could use the EAX, mixer, and speaker settings panels, now I am stuck with only an effecti've 2. system regardless of what I do...
Short of resorting to formatting and installing everything from the ground up, which isn't a viable option, how can I go about getting this confounded thing working as it should once more?
Incidentally, the original issue cropped up nearly a year back, and contacting tech support resulted in the "cut and paste" responses. Remove driver, reinstall... did that, problem persists... Try option B... did that, problem persists... Remove driver, reinstall... did that, problem persists... Try option B... did that, problem persists... This went on for over a week until I finally got fed up and just li'ved with it. A recent game installation required me to update the drivers again, and this time, the webupdate did so, however, as a result, I effecti'vely have lost 95% of the capability of the card.
Please help, while I still have some of my hair left here...

Yes, that sounds quite familiar. Under W2K, things worked well, although I rarely used anything outside the speaker settings, EAX, and mixer, the rest of the package was there, and appeared to work. Once I upgraded to XP Pro, things still appeared functional, at least those parts I routinely used. As a part of the update, I set about updating other items, such as the software/driver packages for the Audigy, and that's where the fun started. Once I completed the "web update", the system hard locked on rebooting, and once it was restarted, I noticed right away that my sound was hosed. I started checking, and found that nearly all of the program apps were missing. Well, not exactly missing persay, but the links led to shortcuts instead of ap
ps.
Once these shortcuts were inspected, I had the same "empty exes" that you mention. Making a long story short, I eventually wound up uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers several times in order to get the taskbar functions back for some of the card's features, but none of the apps ever reappeared.
Recently, I installed a new game which required me to update to the latest sound drivers. I did so using the webupdate once more, and this time, it finished up without incident, however, I no longer have any controls available, and those mentioned in CTPanel, which is present now, are greyed out, and have no effect. Instead of my 6. system, with EAX and effects, I now effecti'vely have a non-EAX card, with only 2. for speakers.
This coming weekend, I plan to go through the process outlined in the link provided, and see if I can at least get the base features of the card back. I was considering doing a complete format, but this is a bit much, especially in light of the fact that only the sound has been effected. Your mention that you have already went this route with the same results has led me to think that the problem lies somewhere with the software and XP. I'd really hate to have to go through the aggravation of restoring the system, and since a good bit of it would be from backups, I would no doubt restore the initial problem.
It's sad that such a great product as the hardware is, apparently has some serious issues with either the software (many others have similar complaints) the OS it runs under, or both... Personally, I can do without the Media center and the rest of the software, but I do want the features of the card to at least function. I could have simply stayed with my old card and speaker setup, and saved myself a few hundred sheckles, and still have had about the same sound features as I now have...
I've worked with computers for years now, and this is undoubtedly the most perplexing, and vexing issue that I have had to date, and that includes administering a network running Windows NT, 3., DOS, Clipper, and beta releases of 95...
Sigh...

  • How to completely remove the excess footage from a trimmed clip?

I'm sure there is a very basic answer for this, and I'm simply inexperienced.
I just can't seem to find this exact problem stated anywhere.
    My issue involves time remapping.
I'm working on a MacBook Pro, using dynamic link between Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC. When I select a single "slice" of a clip I have trimmed down with the razor and open it in AE via direct link, it works well, and I proceed to enable time remapping. All goes as I want it to.
The issue arises when, immediately, I notice that the start and end key frames are not visible because they are actually placed at both ends of the full clip, NOT my trimmed down version. When I place key frames at the ends of the smaller area I want to work with, I notice that if I want to move those end frames inward, it actually pulls the excess footage from the sides into the work area, which I would expect if I didn't have the comp trimmed to the work area.
I'm sure this is just ignorance, but I want to be able to work ONLY with the trim I made, and if I want to pull my end keyframes around, I need them to leave blank black space, NOT the rest of the footage. How do I actually chop out the trim so this works the way I want it to?
Thanks so much in advance. I'm not well versed in the terminology for this program yet and I hope I was able to explain the issue at least halfway clearly.

When you enable time remapping, AE automatically creates keyframes at the start and end of the entire clip, regardless of how it's been trimmed (as you already know).
While there's no way to automatically do what you want, it's an easy manual process.
    Enable Time Remapping.
Go to the in point of the trimmed clip (press i) and add a keyframe.
Go to the out point of the trimmed clip (press o) and add a keyframe.
Use the keyframe arrow buttons in the timeline to step forward to the end-of-layer keyframe.  Even if it's outside the composition time so you can't see it, it can still be (invisibly) navigated to.  Then remove the keyframe by clicking on the remove/add keyframe button between the two arrows.
Navigate to the start-of-layer keyframe and do the same.
Now you should have just two keyframes, at the start and end of the trimmed layer.

  • How can I REMOVE the iPhone Tethering Hack completely ?!

    <Edited by Host>
How can I completely REMOVE the tethering hack from my iPhone, and from iTunes/iMac ???
_*I WANT TO REMOVE IT, COMPLETELY*_
    • Do I have to reinstall OSX in order to regain my default settings in iTunes, and Terminal?
    • Since i had to put this (defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE) inside the terminal for the hack, can i just edit that?
+Somebody Please help. This hack is making my phone unstable, and unreliable.+

    Lots of misinformation floating around:
    1. You don't need to do anything to iTunes. You changed a property value that allowed iTunes to let you see the IPCC file and install it.
You can leave this, it is not hurting anything, just don't go looking to install IPCC files (iPhone Cell carrier file).
    2. This is not making your iPhone unstable. AT&T will release this same file when they allow tethering.
    3. If you want to get rid of it, you have 2 choices install an official AT&T carrier file (there is not one released for 3.0 yet), Or just restore your iPhone with Official 3.0 software but don't restore the backup. Set it up as new.
If your phone is unstable, you may have done other things - you don't say, so just set up as new.

  • How can i completely remove the recovery partition?

Hi, i own an HP notebook model Pavilion 15-e070sl and i want to know how i can remove the recovery partition. I just performed a clean install from my System Recovery DVDs and i don't need the recovery partition anymore (since i got those DVDs), so i decided to delete it from the HP Recovery app; now the data has been deleted but i have a 17GB circa unallocated space on the disk, and i'd like to merge it with C to get some more space, but i don't know how to do it. I tried with thw windows disk management and i can't, i tried with easeus partition master but after moving those two little partitions before the unallocated space or even deleting them (see the pic http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/6928/1lge.png) i can't expand C: to get rid of the unallocated space.
    Any suggestion?
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Assuming E: is the Recovery Partition. Please try:
Right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management, then right-click the graphic of the E partition and select Delete. The partition returns to Unallocated for a Primary Partition or Free Space if it‘s a Logical Drive within an Extended Partition. Delete the partition if it is an Extended partition.
Now right-click the graphic of the C partition and select Extend.
Note: C and E must be sitting next to each other.
    Regards.

  • How do I remove the Adobe updater from the Mac menu bar?

I would like to remove the Adobe Updater from my menu bar for my Mac, I found a lot of instruction to remove it for other versions of the updater, but the I can't find that option in the new CS6 updater.
If there is a way to completely stop the updater from running, that would be useful too.
I also don't understand why the updater say "4" in the menu bar, I only have Photoshop installed, and there are no update avaiable.

I am one of the many for whom Application Manager just started to crash every time I tried to open it. I was also getting the 'trial' dialog box, then a request for a serial number, even though I subscribe to Creative Cloud.
After hours with Adobe Tech Support, I have gone the around-your-elbow-to-get-to-your-mouth method of creating a second user and installing CC apps there...hopefully this is temporary situation, but a girl has to work.
My question is this: how do I remove the updater notifications from the menu bar [original user] if I can't open Application Manager? It crashes every time...besides, Tech Support had me send it to the trash and delete it. I went to my other user ID, updated all, but I'm still showing the annoying update badge in my original menu bar. [Altho' Camera Raw failed to update...that's another issue]
Please advise. I had CS5.5 Design Premium...maybe it would be easier just to upgrade that to CS6 and ditch Creative Cloud!
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to completely remove Application Manager 6

...and all associated files so I can reinstall it.
Here's the issue.  The Application Manager on my Mac running 10.6.8 will not launch or update or install manually.  This is the second time this issue has occured.  The first time I was able to locate instructions as to how to completely remove it but I lost that link so I'm looking for some help.
    Thanks!

To remove the Application Manager run the Cleaner Tool and from the drop-down in the top right choose Creative Cloud. Then select Creative Cloud Installer and click the button for 'Cleanup selected'. Then next time you try to download an application from the Creative Cloud Apps page (https://creative.adobe.com/apps) you will be asked to download the Application Manager again. An alternative place to get the Application Manager for Mac is from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.
I just ran through these steps on my Mac laptop and they worked.

How can I remove the Demo Viewer from my MacBook?

    Drag it to the Trash.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

  • How to completely remove mac os and install windows 7 on macbook pro with retina display 15 inch

how to completely remove mac os and install windows 7 on macbook pro with retina display 15 inch

There's not much sense in purchasing a Mac to run only Windows on it.  Keep in mind that drivers for Windows are a secondary concern for Apple.  While Windows will typicall run fine, things like power managment are not optimized under Windows (you'll get less time on battery while running Windows).  You will also not be able to install firmware updates.  Firmware updates might be necessary whether you run Windows or OS X as they are updates to the code in your hardware and are not OS-specific.  You must be running OS X in order to install a firmware update.  You can do this even if you boot off of an external drive with OS X installed on it.  At the very least, you should keep just a small partition for OS X on your internal drive.

  • How do I remove the white space from the bottom and side of my document?

How do I remove the white space from the bottom and side of my document? (I'm not talking about printing, just viewing it on the screen.) There are about 6 inches of white space at the bottom and at the right hand side. I don't like this. On a blank new spreadsheet it's triple that amount of white space.

The infinite canvas convention doesn't make a lot of sense for Numbers. When I'm viewing a spreadsheet and mistakenly scroll into white, empty space I think, "this is ridiculous - all of my content is fits on one screen. there's nothing over there."
A (relatively) infinite canvas is logical for Microsft Excel because it's one big table. There are 256(?) columns by default and hundreds of rows on a sheet - there are cells outside what a user is looking at to see. However, when viewing a Numbers spreadsheet with a single 10 column 10 row table that fits on the screen, there's nothing else on it to scroll to.
Numbers should distinguish between viewing a spreadsheet and editing one. When I'm just viewing, when there's no content outside the window it shouldn't scroll there. This window behavior is beyond annoying for Numbers on my iPad and iPhone.
(Adding user-defined canvas size setting to my view mode / edit mode thinking would probably be the most complete solution to this now that I think about it.)
Until now the way scrolling worked in Numbers has defied logic. Actually it still does lol. That said, thank you Yellowbox for providing a clear explanation. Much appreciated.

I found this thread, but it doesn't work. When I click on the Updater icon, then click "Open updater," it opens the Creative Cloud instead. I haven't found a way to remove the updater icon from within Creative cloud.
Remove Adobe Updater from OS X menu bar?
    ^^ Doesn't work
Anyone know how to remove it?
    Thanks!

Found it, thanks to later posts in that thread I mentioned in the OP. Here is what they suggest (you have to use Photoshop):
    1. In Photoshop, go to Help >Updates:
    2. Click "Preferences" at the bottom right.
    3. Uncheck the box labeled "Notify me of new updates on the menu bar." Then click "Ok."
    Hope that helps anyone!
