How to compress HDV files in the browser.
I want to compress HDV files in the browser to DV 16/9 without having to drag them all into the timeline and combined and compress them all into one file.
The Sony HDV X1 camera can convert your HDV footage to a variety of DV configurations. I would highly recommend this route to avoid the system performance penalties of working in native HDV. Also the camera gives you a much better HDV to DV conversion than FCP 5 (at the moment).
The only benefit of staying HDV is if you are mastering to HD.

I have just downloaded a program and to fully install it it is requesting that I close the browser and re-open it. I don't know how to close and re-open the browser. Can you tell me how to close and re-open the browser? Thank you
It is always best to use File > Exit<br />
That will close all open windows, so if there are still other windows open then these won't close if you use the close X on the title bar.
Also make sure that you do not have security software that is locking files in the Firefox program folder. -

Any new solutions to playing HDV files on the PC version of Quicktime Pro?
Windows XP ProIt all depends a bit on how & what you backed up, and how you restored it. Select an affected track. Press CTRL-I to Get Info. Click Cancel when asked to locate the file. Look at the location given on the summary tab. Now look through your computer for file in question. What are the two paths? iTunes could be using the wrong layout (pre or post iTunes 9) in error. Or your library could have been split on the previous system, and not restored to preciesly the same path. Posting back the two paths should make things clearer.

I have tried everything Mozilla has suggested. Still when I click on a pdf, I get the message that the browser cannot open a pdf. I have gone through the help protocol, and it does not work.
I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, and still not able to open pdf files within the browser.
What else do I do, except go to IE or Chrome and just leave Firefox completely???A possible cause is the presence of a PDF plugin from an older Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

Both accounts are completely independent from each other. In order to use the space that you have purchased for your secondary account, you must change it to become your primary account. Yes, as you said, services like photo stream only work with the primary account. Unfortunately, there is no comfortable way to just transfer data from one account to another one, but you can do it via a third party application e.g. via Dropbox: e.g. for photos: photos stored with your current primary account > manual transfer to dropbox > after you made your secondary account to the primary account, transfer the photos back to your new primary account etc.

I'm trying to invoke EXCEL or POWERPOINT file into the browser IE 6.0. The
I'm running TOMCAT locally on my PC (running Windows NT).
I'm trying to invoke EXCEL or POWERPOINT file into the browser IE 6.0.
The output is coming out all scrambled (almost like ASCII code or something),
where it seems like the applications are not firing up.
However, an MSWord file shows up fine. So I go to the WEB.XML file in the TOMCAT\CONF
folder and notice that a MIME type has been set up for MSWord and not the other two.
I set one up for EXCEL and POWERPOINT but the XLS or PPT files still don't work.
So, just for kicks, I comment out the MSWord MIME definition but the MSWord file still worked!!!
I can't figure out what's going on here.
I'm stopping and starting the TOMCAT service each time I make changes to the WEB.XML file,
but it seems like none of the changes are taking affect.
I install all the viewers for MS-Word, ppt, and excell.
But in Netscape it works fine.To support various file formats in IE browser while using window.open like .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, xlsx etc.,

Move items you don't need on it, such as the iTunes and iPhoto libraries, to another drive, verify they work in the new location, and then delete them from the internal drive. If you don't need something at all, drag it to the Trash and empty it.

Can't open PDF files in the browser. I've tried every fix mentioned and it still doesn't work!!!
I have Windows XP. Using firefox as my browser. Suddenly, I can't open PDF files in the browser. I've tried all the fixes mentioned. Nothing works!!! Checked the plugin settings, checked Adobe Reader settings.
I already fixed it. I never exited out of Firefox before deleting the mime file. it works now.

Can't get Firefox to NOT open PDF files in the browser
I would like Firefox to always ask whether I want to open or save a PDF document. Instead, it always displays the file in the browser and pops up a toolbar. In Tools/Options/Applications pdf files are not listed. However "PDF Xchange Viewer Document" (my default PDF viewer) is listed and the action is set to "Always ask"; yet it never asks. Why?
Such actions are usually linked to a specific MIME type and if Firefox doesn't obey and ask what to do then you may have created this action for the wrong MIME type.
