For the addresses that pop up when you start a new email. Tap the first letter. A window opens up, tap the blue i in a circle following the address. A new window opens up, scroll down to remove from recents.
When you say old obsolete addresses do you mean from contacts .

How would e-mail address change affect forum?

How company recently changed e-mail addresses for all the employees. Both the format of the username and the domain changed as well. Our old address will still work for 2 years before they wipe it out, but of course they want us to start using the new address now.
Many websites, including NI discussion forums, use a person's e-mail address as the login name. When the e-mail address becomes inactive, how does that affect my interaction on the discussion forums? Obviously, I could still login using the old e-mail address. But any e-mails from the forum for things such as subscriptions to threads would no longer work. I could not find any place in my profile settings to update my e-mail address for subscription purposes. Of course, I expect it to be difficult to change the forum login name since that would be my unique identifier in the forum.
This shouldn't really cause me any problems for almost 2 years. And I'm sure I'll have to deal with it on other websites that use your e-mail address as the login name such as sites that I purchase products from.
Anyone else had similar problems with e-mail address changes? It makes me wonder, if the new e-mail address is supposed to be better, why didn't they use the new format way all along.

The profile is site wide and not specific to the forums. To change the email address associated with the user, click the MyNI link at the top of each page and then the Modify Profile link.

How to stop mail address harvesting MS5.2 patch 2.05

Problem: 2.2 million mailboxes, spammers are harvesting our mailadresses by sending multiple RCPT TO SMTP statements and checking the repsonse (valid recipient or not). Result is that more mail addresses are being harvested by spammer and thereforemore mailboxes are filling up (quota exceeded). This is requiring extensions to the mailstores as "spam-filled" mailboxes exhibit a higher mailbox utilisation than "normal"use mailboxes.
Is there any way to stop spammers from using the RCPT TO statement repeatedly to harvest mail addresses please ?

Basically, no. You have to allow rcpt to: statements. If you lie about who is there, then you run the risk of not notifying a real sender that his mail was mis-addressed, and your users will loose mail. Not good.
You can lock your server down, and then nobody will be able to receive mail. Not good.
Better: install some spam filtering product. That's what most of us do.

How to get mail address into a specific address group folder

I need to be able to copy an email address from Mail and when saving it into Address Book, have it automatically go into a specific folder.
Seems pretty obvious but I'm not seeing how to do this.
Or is my only option to save to Address Book then manually drag the address into the intended folder?

Mail will only add an address to the main Address Book list. You could write an Applescript to perform the operation or possibly an Automator script.

How to sync Mail addresses of 2 iphones on one Mac

Me and my wife have two iphones and only one Mac. We want everything the same on both iphones, except addresses which we want different.
How to sync them ? I have read various complicated answers. Please, one in plain English. Thanks

1º, set you iTunes no to sync automatically, you can do it on the iTunes preferences.
2º click to open iTunes holding the option Key on your keyboard.
3º create a new iTunes Library, naming with your wife's name.
4º set up movies, music and etc, chose not to copy the music and films to iTunes (avoid duplicate) itunes will play all from original folders.
Now you can sync each phone with different library and etc.
remember to always have iTunes set not to sync automatically and to hold the option key while opening iTunes to be able to chose the library you want, your's or your wife's.
you also will be able to use the same iTunes store id with both libraries, just set it up.
I have 5 iPod classics, 2 iPhones 4 and 1 iPod touch all of them I sync with the same iMac.
There is another way, like renaming each phone with a different name, but the above option is the best for you due to different addresses and etc.
REMEMBER TO SET UP THE AGENDA IN YOUR MAC CORRECTLLY TO AVOID SAME ADDRESSES IN BOTH PHONES.
ANOTHER WAY ALSO IS TO CREATE A DIFFERENT USER ACCOUNT IN YOUR MAC, ONE FOR YOU AND ONE FOR YOUR WIFE DUE TO THE ADDRESS BOOK SET UP (AGENDA ON THE MAC).

Depends. If all devices are set for automatic synchronization and they all have sufficient capacity to hold your entire iTunes library, then all devices will have identical content and will continue to do so whenever you add new content. If you're using manual synchronization and/or your entire library won't fit on one or more of the devices, then of course whether or not the devices have identical content will depend on you.
3. How does this affect store purchases? Can I sync multiple devices to the same copy of iTunes and how many times can I sync the purchased iTunes store content to devices? I know it's 5 computers, but what about devices?

Unless things have changed, an iPhone can only be synched to a single copy of iTunes. iPods other than the shuffle can be synched to multiple systems by setting to manual sync.

Send AP payment advice e-mail to multiple e-mail addresses?

Hello all,
I implemented Business Transaction Event 2040 to determine whether a vendor payment advice should be paper or e-mail. The SAP code that populates the e-mail address from the vendor's master record only uses the first e-mail address, regardless of how many e-mail addresses are entered.
Have any of you found a way to send the e-mail to all of the addresses in the vendor master address table, ADR6, without making a modification to SAP's code? I tried putting multiple e-mail addresses in the first address field. The data validation that is being performed did not allow multiple addresses.
When I asked this question of SAP, their answer was that there's nothing wrong and that they would be happy to charge for remote consulting to provide that functionality.
I know that we could create a group e-mail address within our e-mail application for every vendor that wants the e-mail to be sent to multiple recipients. Then enter that group e-mail address in the first line of the vendor master e-mail data. I don't really want to do this because this would entail AP staff requesting to have that group set up and maintained by the staff that maintains the e-mail application.
Since we have the ability to enter multiple e-mail addresses for vendors, it seems like the payment advice e-mail that is generated should send an e-mail for every entry in the vendor master.

We are using program RFFOUS_T to create the payment advice. Your solution of copying that program and modifying it would work. But I don't want to go to the time and trouble of doing that.
Because the volume of vendors that have multiple e-mail addresses is small, we'll just create group e-mail addresses in our e-mail application (Lotus Notes) and use that group e-mail address in the vendor master e-mail screen.
SAP doesn't consider this an error. At best it is a serious shortcoming. I have a hard time believing that I'm the first or only customer that has asked about and for this.

Embedded Space in E-mail Address

Our shop sometimes embeds a space in the names for their e-mail addresses (e.g., ABC [email protected]). When adding another row to the Oracle 9i Enterprise Manager Grid Control General Preferences screen, this example e-mail address splits into two invalid e-mail addresses, ABC and [email protected], when applied to this screen. I have tried single and double quotes around the name with the embedded space and around the entire e-mail address with the same result. How can e-mail addresses with an embedded space in the name be entered into this screen?

According to RFC 5322 section 3.4.1 (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5322#section-3.4.1) whitespace is allowed in a quoted string. Thus if the email address "ABC DEF"@xyz.org is not accepted as email address in GC please raise an SR with Oracle Support.

Mail address modification

I have created an adapter that is triggered when a user is created that prepopulate the Email field with an simple logic (like <firstname><lastname>@<domain>), and if that email address already exists in database, it concatenates a suffix that represents a counter of how many same mail address there is in the base. (ex: Jack Smith has a mail address named [email protected], and if there is someone named Jack Edward Smith that creates an account, his mail address will be [email protected])
Once the Email is created, the user can modify the mail address in the User Console, and there is a problem. In that example, if Jack Edward Smith doesn't like his mail address and try to change it to [email protected] But if there already exists this address in the base, his mail address will become [email protected], but it is not what I want.
Isn't there some way to make User Console to show an error message like "This mail address already exists", eventually giving a list of suggestions?

What I did was the following:
Error Defintion:
1) Created an error defintion with the code as ADAPTER.EMAILCHECK with description and notes and saved the details.
Entity Adapter
1) create an entity adapter in the adapter factory
2) First was a java task, which checked whether the email exists or not, it returns true if the email exists in oim
3) I defined a logical task that checks for the output of the previous task to see whether it is true, if it is true it calls the error defintion which is a logical task "Handle Error" where you call the defintion that you created above.
4) Call the entity adapter in the users object in data object defn
5) map the output to the entity field usr_email.
The entity adapter will check if the email exists and if exists will call the error defn in the create user page. Only thing which i wasnt able to figure out was how to provide a user friendly message rather than saying en_US_ADP.CheckMail???? which we oim people can understand is a entity/event handler that is being fired on the users form.

How to delete email addresses from address book(?)

I want to clean-up/purge my address book of old/obsolete addresses. What I've been doing is deleting entries within each address, but that creates as many "no name" entries as the ones deleted. Is there a way to delete unwanted email addresses? Thanks.

I don't understand the question... In particular, I'm not sure what you mean about how deleting e-mail addresses creates "no name entries". If you want to delete a contact, simply select it and choose Edit -> Delete Card (or just hit the delete key). If you want to remove an e-mail address while leaving the contact, select the contact, click the Edit button and then click the red '-' button next to the e-mail address.

How can I display selected tags across multiple e-mail addresses?

I receive email on a specific topic but via several e-mail addresses. How can I view selected tags where the resulting e-mails span several (7) email addresses. They are all active on my Thunderbird, but as far as I know, I can only display the selected tag on one of them at a time.
Any assistance greatly appreciated as this is a very big problem for me.

This solution does not appear to work across multiple e-mail addresses.
Perhaps I should have said "work across multiple e-mail address at the same time. I get e-mail on specific topics via several email addresses and wish to view all the tagged emails regardless of which email account in which they reside.
I could not get this solution to select more than one email account at a time.
