i have installed oracle 8.17 and,i have configured owb
Repository,owb Runtime success but when cofigure owb browser,it
mentioned must input oracle 9i,should i must install oracle 9i
in order to use owb?

When you login into Runtime Audit Browser, select "QA User" in the "Select Role" box (by default it's "Warehouse User"). This will enable Purge.

How to cleanup OWB Browser Reports

Hi,
Before we starting using OWB on a regular basis, we wanted to a Proof of Concept. Now that this POC is completed, we are ready to start using OWB and want to make sure we're at a clean start.
We're using OC4J to view the Warehouse Builder Runtime Audit Browser. And in there I see several reports that were created duing our POC. I would like to remove these reports. How can I do that?
I tried logging in as IMS_RRS, and can select the reports, but the "Purge Selected Audit Detail" button is always greyed out. Can I do this thru OC4J, or must I have Portal set up and running to use the Administration menus.

OWB11gR2: Mapping execution in a process flow not visible in OWB Browser

When a mapping is executed inside a process flow, execution details are not visible in OWB Repository Browser (Control Center reports) - rows processed, errors etc. Mapping row is missing in a log, like it never happened (but it did).
This auditing information is very important for monitoring reasons (to our customers also) and I just don't get it how this functionality is lost with this version. Another serious bug?

I was rather tired and frustrated last evening, so today I noticed some things I didn't yesterday. Your reply gave me a new motivation.
The conclusion is - a mapping execution in a process flow is logged, but the way activities are displayed in OWB Browser are now different than in previous versions. If I click on 'Execution Job Report' on a process flow, I see all the activities listed except mappings (transformations, assign, file exists, subprocess etc.). If I want to see mapping execution row, I must click on a plus (expand) sign.
This kind of behavior will make processes with a complex hierarchy (usually we have more than 5 levels of subprocesses) rather vast to monitor. In 10gR2, a drilling down was accomplished by opening a new browser tab (Execution Job Report link) for each subprocess/mapping activity. Now it shall remain on one huge screen (list) that keeps expanding.
But, if that is the new feature, we shall live with that. If our customers won't like it, they will have to get used to it.

5.1 Audio with 3 jacks: How to config this ?

I'm having since short a 5.1audio set, a logitech x540. I love this set, not too priced for a 5.1set. I'm coming from some crappy cheap trust 2.1set, so this is a big improvement.
But now the problem: my set needs to be connected to my motherboard with those '3 jack cables', because it's not having a coax cable. (normal for a budget set). But my motherboard has got only those 3 'normal' jacks. But not a big problem, i found the following in my motherboard guide:
Light Blue : Surround
Lime : Front Speaker Out
Pink : Center/bass
So hardware seen it isn't a problem to use those jacks . So i connected them like told in my motherboard manual. But now i don't get them working under linux. I don't know how to config it. I'm having the following audio card:

I have a very cheap C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6 6-channel sound card connected by three jacks to Logitech 5.1 speakers. I also have a headset for Skype connected to the onboard sound.

How to config JMS queues for non-AQueue products? Only config files?

Assume I have the requirement NOT to use Oracles built-in Aqueue JMS provider but use another (external)product like:
Apache ActiveMQ, JBossMQ, IBM MQseries,... instead.
Can I config these JMS products through OC4Js web browser config web pages as well or am I forced in such cases to use configuration through XML config files?
How do I tell OC4J NOT to use internal JMS Aqueue queues but use other JMS product?

how can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?When we configured security in web.xml , during the first request the container is asking for the authentication credentials once they are provided it go's on. but when the user gives a fresh request from the second window within the same browser that time it is not asking for authentication. once the user sign out and just left without closing the browser and a friend (suppose not a good friend ... just kidding...) of that user may open the same jsp or file .This time the security is breached. If that feature or property exists....
I know what you might say ... the user will log-out before leaving where a programer might invalidate the session at the time of log out.
Consider the case of a bad Programing or just a programer might forget to invalidate,At that time as a application administrator how can he solve that issue.

2. You must create a repository before you can start the Control Center Service
3. I'm not sure, but I think you can use your local OWB

I've read the install guide
and it mentions
3. Start the installer by entering the following at the prompt:
cd mount_point
./runInstaller
I don't have access to any graphical interface on the UNIX box e.g. x-windows nor any cd with the software, just the solaris software downloaded from web - does this include the runinstaller
and is the runisnatller just a command line interface?
I hoped I would be able to download the software from oracle website and then simply run the a setup scrip?
Is it possible to do this? Would I simply substitute cd mount_point to cd <directory I put software)
I've never ran oracle universall installer on UNIX before.

Hi,
You can install the server-side software from the downloaded software.
You don't need the CD
You do need an X-windows client on your computer to connect to the server OR work directly on the server.
Without X-windows you cannot start the Oracle Universal Installer.
Maybe there is a command line installation, I have never used this.

Here's my favorite scenario:
1. User clicks button
2. Save As dialog displays
3. User chooses location
4. A set of PDF files download to that location OR a single zip file downloads
Background:
I want to ensure the user sees that files are being downloaded. I'm delivering content to users who may not be Web savvy.
Concern:
1. User has no clue how to find downloaded files or that files have even downloaded.
2. I'd like to deliver the set as zip files. Not sure if self-opening zip files still exist.
FYI:
I'm using jQuery UI buttons. Not sure if that factors into response.

ZFS has not yet been integrated into Solaris 10...
At this time you need either the "Software Express for Solaris 2/06"

"Solaris Express: Community Release"
