How to config. to schedule and email reports

Hi,
Please help me on these questions:
1. How to configure the reports server (or 9iAS or something
else) to schedule reports, I also need to email the reports to
customers in pdf and excel format, what should I do to achieve
this?
2. I have to re_start report server from 6iserver directory
using reports60_server start (on Soloris 5.8, I use SSH to
access it and I build a tunnel for the prot 7777 to my local
computer) every time I run a report, How can I fix this problem?
3. my reports require passing parameters in, but I didn't see
anywhere I can do this if I run them from URL, any idea how to
fix ?

I can only answer #3, I am looking for the answer to the 2nd
part of #1. You can pass all Report specific paramters to the
reports server with the URL. ex/
http://server_name/app_server/server.exe?param1=...&param2=...
etc. the param1 and param2 names and values will be passed along
to the report itself.

I would like to receive a report daily on our TACACS activity on our network devices. I've looked thru the menus and searched some but have not found a clear way to generate such a report.

Working with Scheduled Reports
In ACS 5.5, you can schedule reports for a future date in such a way that ACS automatically generates the report. This can be done using the scheduled reports feature available in the Monitoring and Reports web interface. This feature is available only for the for RADIUS authentication, RADIUS accounting, TACACS+ authentication, TACACS+ authorization, and TACACS+ accounting reports. ACS generates the scheduled reports based on the given time range, exports them to a .csv file, and stores them in the specified remote repository.
Previous releases of ACS allowed you to export reports and copy the .csv file to the local file system. You need to copy the exported file using the copy command to a remote location. But in ACS 5.5, you have the option to configure the remote repository to which the generated reports are exported and stored.
An email notification is sent whenever a scheduled report is generated successfully. The email notification contains the following information:
Scheduled Report Name—Name of the scheduled report.
Cause—The reason for which you have received this email or alarm notification. In this case, the notification is a scheduled report alarm.
Details—The details of the email notification.
Repository Name—Name of the remote repository where the generated reports are stored.
Repository URL—URL of the remote repository.
File Name—Name of the generated report. The format of the filename is <Name of the Scheduled Report>-<Report Type>. For instance, if the name of the scheduled report is “report1” and the report type is RADIUS_Accounting, then the filename is displayed as: report1-RADIUS_Accounting.csv
Generated on—The date and time at which the report is generated.
ACS does not generate any alarms or email notifications if a scheduled report generation fails. To know the status of the scheduled reports, go to the Monitoring Configuration > System Operations > Scheduler page and check for the status.

Schedule and Email Reports

Is there any way to schedule reports to run and have the output emailed? As far as I can tell this is not possible, but wondering if anyone has come up with any workarounds.
Maybe running a windows scheduler job to launch the Reports and Analysis for Excel template plugin and then email the report?
Is anyone in the know if this is scheduled for a future release?

Dear Aamir,
Please copy TNSNAMES.ORA file from your Database Home/NETWORK/ADMIN directory and copy that in NETWORK/ADMIN directory where you installed Forms/Reports 6i. then you can connect to your server by using SID as host string like: system/manager@<SID example: ORCL>

How to config the user and role in the runtime for executing in the GP?....

I am learning GP(Guided processor)according the document

I meet two question when I learn the GP.
The first:
This document don't tell me how to config the member framework of the company. After I design the GP, I have to config the user and role in the runtime for executing. I hope I can use the WDA(webdynpro for java or webdynpro for java) to implement to config the user for executing in the runtime. Thus, the customer don't config the user when runing the GP. But I don't know how to do this.
I need a document guide step by step to tell me how to do this.
The second:
If I use the workflow in the GP, I have to install and config the NWDI(Netweaver Development Infrastructure). Now I have installed the NWDI, but I don't know config it so that I can download it to my machine for develop the workfolw in the GP.
Do you give me some hints? Thanks a lot.

Now, I think I have to set the processor of every actions in every process if I use the GP for processing the workflow.
I am better to hope that I can set the processor to the role for every actions in every process in the runtime through get the organizational structure in the WDA(webdynpro for java or webdynpro for java). Thus, the customer don't set the processor to the role for every action in every process when runing in the GP. I don't know how to do this.
Whether the function is not supported in the GP? If so, I have to config two organizational structure: in the R/3 and in the Portal. I don't think our customer don't receipt this solution.

How do I change password and email address?

I cannot change my password and email address because I am based in the UK and not in the US. When I try to make a change and save it, it says I have made a mistake on the fields marked red and asks me to complete the parts in red including: the state I live in and because I am not in a state it doesn't allow me to change my details. It also has a problem with my country's telephone code. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

How do I take all my accounts and emails to another Mac? Just copying the ~/library/mail folder doesn't copy the account data. When I copy that folder to another Mac, Mail does not recognize the account data.

Then launch Mail. If it asks to import anything, decline.

Download scheduler can be used to download a package - create a package for precalculation in the reporting agent and then open the same using the download scheduler and schedule the same...
procedure:
1. create a web template
2. In report agent -Do setting for the web template
3. schedule the setting in the package.
4. the setting was for
data calculation
Excel sheets
HTML pages
Then check the preview, you will get data in it.
5. run the package
6. use download scheduler to create HTML pages and Excel workbooks
BTW - download scheduler is taken away in NW2004s

There are different approaches to configure alerts, if you are using Solution Manager; I think you can benefit if you choose SolMan and the Central System (CEN) to handle all the monitoring and email alerting.
If this is the case, you will need to install the CCMS Agents on every satellite system in order to trigger remote alerts.

How to manage separate OLTP and MIS/Reports Server

Dear All,
Due to large amount of data and heavy MIS queries, response from our database server is very slow. Users face problems of slow speed.
We want to separate our OLTP and MIS/Reporting.
What is the best scenario provided by Oracle to implement this strategy. We are using oracle 11gR1 on Linux server.
One thing to remember some reports require update information that is they has to show the latest data. However some MIS reports can be archived, like a procedure runs during off hours and insert data into tables periodically and MIS reports selects data from these tables.

I also require some procedures that run on a scheduled time and generate records in different tables, so read only database instance wont help much. If you are saying that you need the reporting database to be updatable, a physical standby is out. A logical standby is also most likely out unless you are just creating new objects. If you want to modify existing objects (inserting, updating, or deleting rows in existing tables), logical standby would not be appropriate.
Do you want the reporting database to have the same data model as the OLTP database? Reporting databases often perform better with a different data model, but moving to a star or snowflake schema expands the scope of the project and increases complexity substantially. It also requires that existing queries be modified to hit the new schema which adds additional development time.

How to recover user accounts and email after clean (not upgrade) server reinstall

I have a OSX Mavericks Server 3.1.2 that has developed issues than only a clean install will resolve. I have a large number of user accounts and email data that needs to be reinstated after the the clean install and I am not sure if Migration from a backup is the best way to reover the user data. Someone p[lease tell me that I dont have to recreate all the user accounts and restore the email directories manually! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Schedule a job using a scheduler. E.g. use dbms_scheduler to do it from the database.
You can call reports from the database using the utl_http package, or the srw package (see Event Driven Publishing in the Reports documentation).
