  • Role of LDAP server in portal

    HI
Can any one tell me what is the role of LDAP server in portal
    Thanks
    shashank

    Hi Shashak,
if you use the LDAP Server as UME User Store, the security policy from the LDAP server is enforced. This means that if the data source has defined its own security policy, there is no standard interface to pass on any error messages received from the data source to the UME user in the same level of detail and in the correct language. The user only receives a very generic error message. Therefore, you would need to adapt the Portal security policy accordingly. You can find some further information under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7f/c52442ad9f5133e10000000a155106/frameset.htm.

  • How to configura multiple ldap server to the sun access manager

    Hi,
please help how to configure multiple ldap server to the sun access manager, for example access manager does't find the user in ldap1 then it should search in ldap2.
    Thanks
    Mouli

Theres no need for deleting the default amSDK based datastore because its needed for some default accounts.
You may try to create the datastore using the commandline (amadmin)
    Have a look /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/xml/idRepoService.xml
You may also try to create amadmin account in the external ldap directory.
(Un)fortunately ive never tried to remove the default datastore.

  • Usage of external LDAP server with Portal

    Hi All,
We are in a situation to use external LDAP server with WLP 8.1. These are the
constraints we have to deal with:
    1. Only read is allowed from this LDAP server.
    2. This would be used for authentication purpose
If thats the case, how can we use Visitor Entitlements/Delegated Admin and Group
creation using Portal Admin tool since this will write to the configured LDAP
    server.
    Can somebody answer my question:
    1. Can we use external LDAP server - just for authetication (I know this is possible
by using JAAS LoginModule, but I just want to get confirmed on this ) and
    2. Use default and embedded LDAP server for all others like Group/Visitor Entitlements/DAs.
Any relevant pointers are also welcome.
    TIA,

Thanks for th ereply. Some of your answers are not clear. Can you pls eloborate

You can add the external LDAP server just for authentication, but in
    versions through
8.1 SP2 WLP will want to verify the user exists (via the UserReaderMBean)
    during
the login process (this check has been removed in SP3). A work around
    is to
    duplicate
the user in a provider that does impl UserReaderMBean.
Prashanth : You mean to say we have to duplicate the User in embedded LDAP server
    also??

Yes, the default/embedded LDAP can still be used for DA/visitor
    entitlements. In the current
release, the Portal Admin Tools can only be configured to use a single
    authentication provider
while forming entitlements. In SP3, all configured providers are
listed/usable by the tools.Prashanth : How can we configure Portal Admin tool to use authentication provider

  • How can I map LDAP departments to portal groups?

    Hi All,
we connected our NW 7.0 Portal to the corporate LDAP server using the profile dataSourceConfiguration_novell_readonly_db.xml. Connection is up and running and the UME lists all users from the LDAP and they can logon.
The LDAP cannot provide any groups or roles. However, it provides a department name for every user.
My question is if it is possible to make a user automatically a member of a portal group named like the department he or she is working in and how this mapping can be achieved.
I downloaded the XML-file and studied the SAP-help concearning this matter, but I'm a little lost because of all the different tags of the XML-file and I don't quite comprehend how the mapping is done exactly. I'm not that keen on experimenting with the different tags since this requires frequent portal restarts and there seem to be many possible combinations.
I figure my request is not that exotic so maybe someone has done that before. Could someone out there help? It would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
There is an easier way to do this. Since you provide a department name for every user, configure virtual groups to use the department attribute.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/fcfa2942ed7067e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
Configure the department names you use and the UME will generate virtual groups based on the department names at runtime.

    How to configure LDAP server...

You'll have more luck in the forum for LDAP: Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) & Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition/Sun DSEE
I suggest that you also include more information in your posts about what you've already tried to do and why it doesn't seem to be working. Simply asking "how to configure LDAP" isn't going to elicit many responses....You need to show you've actually attempted it yourself.
Also, you'll always want to include the versions of the software you're using.

  • How to add crystal enterprise server in portal?

Hello, I am not familiar with SAP Portal, I am a little bit confused with the following direction from point 5. I don't know how to add the system in the landscape. I don't see the Edit list. The netweaver version is 2004.
To configure the BusinessObjects Enterprise server
    1. From the top-level navigation bar, choose System Administration; then
    choose System Configuration.
    2. From the Detailed Navigation iView, choose System Landscape.
    3. In the Portal Catalog, expand Portal Content.
    4. In the folder containing the systems, right-click a system and choose
    Open, and then choose Object.
    5. In the System Landscape Editor, from the Edit list, select Crystal
    Enterprise Server.
    6. In the BusinessObjects Enterprise Editor, enter the following parameters:
u2022 Host Name of Crystal Enterprise Server:
Here you need to enter the BusinessObjects Enterprise server as fully
qualified host name (including the port).
    For example: BusinessObjects001.business.net:1080
u2022 Path of BusinessObjects Enterprise Server:
Here you need to enter the path to the viewer application you want to
    use for this system.

    Hi,
the steps are under the assumption that you have a system already configured in the portal.
the values for the BusinessObjects server are just properties. If you don't have a system configured you would have to create a system first - otherwise you can set these properties for an exisitng system

  • Using LDAP server in Login frame work

I need breaf explanation about how to use LDAP server in Portal for Login authontatication.
Any body now good documets please pass me those links.
    Thanks,

In a nutshell, WebLogic Server has a pluggable security architecture. If you want your authentication provider to use your LDAP server then you can configure WebLogic Server to use your authentication provider. You configure your authentication provider to connect to your LDAP server. No code development is necessary.
WebLogic Portal Server is built on top of WebLogic Server so you get the pluggable security architecture by definition.
This security architecture has been around a long time and lots of customers use it so the documentation on it is pretty good. If you haven't configured a WebLogic Server LDAP authentication provider before then don't worry: it is not too difficult, but it is going to require that you go through the documentation. The link deepshet gave you is a good starting point.

  • How to connect LDAP to Enterprise Portal

    Hi Guru,
I need complete steps to connect LDAP into enterprise portal as LDAP is microsoft AD existing one.
I am confuse about the user mapping and authenticatation, compareing and Single sign one.  Does we are calling Log on ticket to the first screen of enterprise portal where we enter user ID and password or ?.
One situation is that one SAP Enterprise portal acts as comparing user id against AD(LDAP) and issue logon ticket. Other system who is accepting the logon ticket is also SAP Netweaver and has its own portal. It has it own login module.
My first question is " How to establish connection to AD in to on SAP Enterprise Portal
Second is  " How to establish connection to that SAP enterprise portal to SAP Netweaver own portal".
Third is " If we are trying to access to SAP Netweaver application through SAP Enterprise portal , how we can able to access, do we need to accesss through ivew of SAP Enterprise portal only or can we access the SAP Netweaver application as soon as we enter userid/passwd on first screen of Enterprise portal directly to SAP Netweaver application, without user the ivew of Enterprise portal
If you guys understood this situation let me as soon as possible, cuz my boss is on my head. of send me your contack info to my email: [email protected]
    Thanks

    Hi Ben,
Here is my situation is little bit different, we have application server which is SAP Netweaver and HR application is running on this server. we are trying to login into this system through its portal and it has attached with LDAP Microsoft AD.
We set all LDAP setting and this application having its own login module and it added and I hav seen in Security policy of Visual administrator.
Now tell me how to configure or adjust login modules with its own login module. How to set login modules stacks such that user ID is match with AD and issue login ticket or can login.
We tested using user ID which contains in AD as well as Application server's database. we it is not able to login.
If you see this message please send me your contact info to this email I will explain you more on my situation. Please it is so urgent that my boss is on my head

  • Portal and Netscape LDAP server integration

    Hi,
I am trying to integrate Netscape LDAP server (6.0) with portal server 7, but
having lots of trouble doing that.
I've followed the instructions in the developer guide and completed the following
    steps:
    1. added a CustomRealm named defaultLDAPRealmForNetscapeDirectoryServer in config.xml
and modified the entries to fit my environment.
    2. Deployed ldapprofile.jar and customized the env variables.
After these two steps, nothing happened. Then I did the third step:
    3. added a iPlanet Authenticator to the realm CompatibilityRealm, which is my
    default realm for the server.
However, after step 3, I wasn't able to boot weblogic server. Please note I have
create two users, system and weblogic in my LDAP server.

Thanks a lot Scott. I followed your instructions and got it working to a certain
degree. I am pretty happy about the results.
There are still a few issues:
    1. I had to create groups and users in my directory server in order to boot up
and logon to the server. This is expected, but is it possible to export these
user/group settings from the embedded LDAP server so that I can import them into
my directory server? Currently, the only way is manual and it's error prone. A
lot of trial and error has to happen to get there.
    2. It seems that using Netscape LDAP server only allows read-only access. This
means we have to create new users/groups outside of the portal server and one
other side effect is self-registration is impossible, unless we use custom security
providers. Is this assessment correct? Since LDAP integration is so important,
wouldn't it be nice if BEA have that built-in and all we need to do is to switch
    to and configure it?
    3. I got duplicate users and groups in compatibility security. Obviously, one
set is from my LDAP server and the other is from the embedded one. I tried to
remove to embedded LDAP authenticator, but the duplicates are still there. How
can I get rid of the duplicates - I only want the ones from my LDAP server?
    Thanks again Scott.

    Weiguo,
WLP 7.0 uses a compatibility realm only and will not work with the
custom realm that you created for the Netscape directory server.
Configuring an LDAP compatibility realm isn't too bad and its
configuration is much like 4.0. However, it can be hard to configure
initially from the console. One way is to shut your server down and
modify config.xml directly - but make sure you make a backup copy first!
    Then add something like:
    <CachingRealm BasicRealm="myRealm" CacheCaseSensitive="true"
    Name="wlcsCachingRealm"/>
    <CustomRealm
    ConfigurationData="user.filter=(&(uid=%u)(objectclass=person));
    user.dn=ou=people,dc=beasys,dc=com;
    server.principal=uid=dirmanager,ou=people,dc=beasys,dc=com;
    membership.filter=(&(uniquemember=%M)(objectclass=groupofuniquenames));
    group.filter=(&(cn=%g)(objectclass=groupofuniquenames));
    server.host=somehost.beasys.com;
    group.dn=ou=groups,dc=beasys,dc=com"
    Name="myRealm" Password="your_password_here"
    RealmClassName="weblogic.security.ldaprealmv2.LDAPRealm"/>
will enable your LDAP server. After this is setup it will be much
easier to configure via the console. Obviously you'll need to update
the parameters above for your configuration.

I've followed the instructions in the developer guide and completedthe following
    steps:
    1. added a CustomRealm named defaultLDAPRealmForNetscapeDirectoryServerin config.xml
and modified the entries to fit my environment.
    2. Deployed ldapprofile.jar and customized the env variables.
After these two steps, nothing happened. Then I did the third step:
    3. added a iPlanet Authenticator to the realm CompatibilityRealm, whichis my
    default realm for the server.
However, after step 3, I wasn't able to boot weblogic server. Pleasenote I have
create two users, system and weblogic in my LDAP server.
I copied the stack trace below. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I get properties from my ldap server?

    urgent,I don't know
how to use the getproperties to get the properties
    from ldap server,anyone help?

    Hi Kevin,
You could write a portlet that uses the <um:getProfile> and
    <um:getProperty> tag (
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/jsptags.htm#1058056 )
Or you can do an easier test that requires no coding: If you use the EBCC
to create metadata about your ldap property set, then you can use the JSP
portal admin tool to see your LDAP properties for a user. I think if you go
through the UUP example on dev2dev.bea.com it has instructions for doing
this with a UUP. Basically, create a property set (a.k.a. "user profile")
named "ldap" in the EBCC and create properties that match the ones you want
to retrieve ("telephoneNumber", etc...CASE SENSITIVE). Then access the JSP
portal admin tool. If you are not using the LDAPRealm as your alternate
security realm then create a user that you know exists in LDAP and then hit
the link for the user and search the "ldap" property set and you will see
their property values. If you are using the LDAPRealm for authentication,
then this is not a ManageableRealm so you cannot create users (they are
managed in your LDAP server). So, if you are using the LDAP realm, just
create the "ldap" property set in the EBCC and go to the user mgmt tools in
the JSP admin tools and you will see your user. Then search the "ldap"
property set for your user and you will see the property values.

    Hello,
We're trying to retrieve an arbitrary profile and it's attributes from
a Novell NDS ldap server. I've configured the ldapprofile.jar as
    described in the portal doc:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/users.htm#1131824
but the article doesn't go on to describe how to use the configuration
    to actually access the properties.
I'm unsure as to how to use the com.bea.p13n.usermgmt.profile.ldap
package to retrieve the information I need.
Is there some step by step instructions to achieve this as well as
some sample code to run in a jsp to test this functionality?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Eric,
The LdapPropertyManager handles that for you. All you have to do is
deploy it. (I'm talking about Portal 4.0). See the docs at "Accessing
Properties from an LDAP Server" (
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/users.htm#1131824 )
You will need to deploy the LDAPPropertyManager EJB, located in
ldapprofile.jar. It is shipped with the product in
    <wlportal4.0-install-dir>/lib/p13n/ejb/ldapprofile.jar.
