How to configura multiple ldap server to the sun access manager
Hi,
please help how to configure multiple ldap server to the sun access manager, for example access manager does't find the user in ldap1 then it should search in ldap2.
Thanks
Mouli
Theres no need for deleting the default amSDK based datastore because its needed for some default accounts.
You may try to create the datastore using the commandline (amadmin)
Have a look /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/xml/idRepoService.xml
You may also try to create amadmin account in the external ldap directory.
(Un)fortunately ive never tried to remove the default datastore.

How to configure multiple virtual hosts for the same context root /
Hi,
I am using Glassfish V1 U1 - b14 on Solaris.
I am trying to configure two applications to be mapped to the / root context, each one in its own virtual host.
Two things I have noticed:
1. I have to manually add virtual-hosts="hostId" in domain.xml/application-ref ... looks like just simply deploying the app does not do that although the application is set as default for its particular virtual host. Is this a bug?
2. Although I have set for each virtual host the default web-app correctly, and they both respond fine, I cannot map both of them to the / context. The second application (chronologically deployed) does not respond when called with the / context ....
Any ideas? Is this a bug again?

Rares

rarespWow, that's a shame. All mighty Application Server and two different apps on two different virtual hosts are considered ambiguous to have the same context root definition.... Fair play to Tomcat and 90% of the rest of servlet containers!
In my case I have the same EAR we are planning to deploy to many (up to 30) virtual hosts. Faking different context roots for each deployment will bring unnecessary overheads...
Should I file a bug or feature request?
Thanks again for your answer, although you're basically saying it is not possible I will wait and look a while for a possible solution before bringing this topic to a conclusion. -

raviI found the directory with java.exe on my XP client. After updating my Path and then typing 'java -versions' I still see a 'java not found message'. No problem though - a README.TXT says that I have JRE 1.1.7B.
One final question - a co-worker who also has XP just starting seeing a pop-up window saying 'Runtime' error when running a Java applet. His java.exe is in a path that includes the sub-directory 'JRE' On my XP client, java.exe is in a path which includes a 'JRE11' sub-directory. We therefore seem to have different versions of the JRE. Since I don't see the Runtime error when running the same applet, should my co-worker try upgrading his JRE?
Thank you. -
How to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same instance.
Hello everyone,
I am running oracle database 11g and I want information regarding how to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same database instance. Actually I know how to configure more than one listener but the main thing that I am confused about is when we create listener.ora file, do we have to statically register the database instance with both the listeners or the instance will register itself with both the listeners.
According to my knowledge the instance will register with the listener specified by LOCAL_LISTENER parameter and we cannot have more than one value for this parameter.
Please only give detailed answers with example as I am tired of simple answers with details that I already know.Hello,
Yes, it can make sense to have several listener for one Oracle instance. For instance you may have one listener for the applications another listener for DBA administration tasks as well as one listener dedicated to dataguard broker. It is not possible to have several listeners listening on the same IP and Port.
By default the database try to automatically register to a listener on port 1521. To instruct the instance to register to a specifc list of listeners you can add in the init.ora the local_listener parameter with an alias definition:
i.e
local_listener=MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS
in your tnsname.ora add an entry called:
MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS_LOCAL= (ADDRESS_LIST=
(ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1530))
(ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1531))
(ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1532))
In this sample your instance will register to three listeners listening on respectively port 1530, 1531 and 1532
If you want your clients can be balanced over the 3 listeners -

Configuring Multiple LDAP Domains
I am having trouble configuring multiple ldap domains for declarative security and form-based authentication.
I have setup another instance of Directory Server on my local machine, on a different port. I want to be able to talk to this alternate directory server for form-based authentication and roles.
I have tried to do this by following the instructions at http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/ias/60/sp3/admin/adbasica.htm#21662, but I've had no luck. Below are screenshots of my configuration. (I've attached a word document in case you don't have a HTML-enabled mail reader). My screenshots were wrong in the e-mail below, but correct in the attached word doc.

How to Configure a mail server with OIM

Suren.Create an IT Resource of Type Mail Server. Give Name as "Email Server. Now populate the values for all the parameter for example Server, username, password and authentication type.
.Go to System Configuration and in Email Server property value give the name of IT resource you created in step1 so the name will be "Email Server".

Configuring Multiple LDAP Datasources in VDS
Hi,
I'm trying to configure multiple LDAP Datasources using VDS, one talking to AD and other to Novell eDir from VDS, my LDAP connection strings works well but when I start the service in VDS the service will never startup all I see is Exception null, it does not throw any exception at the same time it doesn't start up the service. I've tried configuring with signle Datasource which works fine. This is failing when I combine those two datasources into one configuration. Have any configured multiple datasources with in VDS. Not sure if you have encountered any problems.
Thanks,
Joe.PAre you just trying to bring in two LDAP data sources or do a join between them?
Actually both I believe are considered types of joins.
You cannot just define two datasources and expect them to show up. -
How to connect a LDAP Server?
When creating the LDAP Data Server in Topology Manager using the Sunopsis LDAP Open Connector, the following message is displayed:
"A NamingException occured saying: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]"
I use the sunopsis JDBC driver:
com.sunopsis.ldap.jdbc.driver.SnpsLdapDriver
and set the parameters:
jdbc:snps:ldap?ldap_url=ldap://10.182.255.38:389/&ldap_basedn=cn=Users,dc=cn,dc=oracle,dc=com
the user is set to:
cn=orcladmin,cn=Users,dc=cn,dc=oracle,dc=com OR cn=orcladmin OR orcladmin, the error is the same.
Could anyone tell me how to solve this issue?I can't connect to the ldap server.
Using a simple java program, no problem, ODI, no go.
Some code I found on the internet to connect to the ldap server
Note the comments on SECURITY_PRINCIPAL and SECURITY_CREDENTIALS.
This works fine for me.
If I try to do the same with ODI, it doesn't work.
Why?
Kinde regards,
Frans.
public static void main( String[] args ) {

replace "DEDICATED" with "SHARED" in tns names
Ready to go.
