Kindly use below steps:
1. First you to install CCM4X on server
2. Create all the system in t code DSWP then operation setup -> solution monitoring -> system monitoring and solution monitoring you to activate what ever you needs once done
3. go to t code rz21 -> select technical inrastrucure activate all the configuration

Hi,
One of my ecc qa system in not coming in setup system monitoring of dswp. I have included this ecc qa satelite system in smsy and MOPz is working fine for that system. But it is not coming in setup system monitioring. Actually I want to administer the systems centrally from solman.
I am able to get the ecc dev system in set system monitoring.

we should create one logical comp for one product systems of Dev,qua,prd ( For ERP dev,qua,prd 1 logical comp, for PI dev,qua,prd 1 logical comp)
regarding your solution monitoring thing, have you assigned the logical component to your solution?chk the below

For your auto fill of created by,have you created BP for curresponding users in solman? and define the "Partner Determination Procedure" for the reporter as "User".(remove the old one as 'SAP Service : Determination via IBase/Ind. Object for Ref. Object Set' and set to user)

Regarding authorization in solution manager for Central system monitoring

Hi,
I want to Prevent users from deleting Task logs in central system monitoring
in solution manager
I have assigned the roles SAP_SV_SOLUTION_MANAGER_DISP
But it gives display authorization for everything unable to keep track of
changes in monitoring
Can anyone please help me to prevent users from deleting task log history
Since I have to keep track of one month data
What can be the suitable role for it ? or what authorization objects i should
make a change to prevent deleting tasklog.
Kindly help me in this regard

I am not saying about SDDCN
In transction solution_manager => opertation set up = > central system
administation
we will do manual monitoring for sattelite systems in this path. what we monitored
will be entered in task log history.
So what can be the suitable role to prevent the deleting of the task log history.
There is option delete task history. if any one by mistake clicked on that ,all the
records of monitoring will be lost.
so kindly suggest me a suitable solution

Competitors for SAP Solution Manager within central system monitoring

We currently use SAP Solution Manager (CCMS monitors from RZ20) for the central system monitoring for several SAP systems.
Are there some other tools/competitors that can also serve as central platform for system monitoring of several SAP systems?
(e.g. HP OpenView).

Hello,
You may want to take a look into the EarlyWatch Alert report.
It's a weekly report that gives information about many different areas of your systems and helps you to maintain them. It helps to detect problems before they occur by analysing trends on your systems and alerting about it. It definitely may work taking a look into it: service.sap.com/ewa.
It does not have an additional cost, all you need is a solution manager.

Central System Monitoring Issue

Dears,
I have configured system Monitoring but when i go in DSWP-> solution Monitring->System Monitoring.
Then after monitoring Daily tasks are getting done and get invisible from the list and get unavailable but but after performing monitoring of hourly tasks they are not not updating on main screen,neither their last execution time is changing nor they are getting invisible from task list.
Please suggest.

Yes I am discussing about tasks.
As you told I am doing the same but daily tasks are getting invisible but not hourly and every 1 hour.
Even in Last Executed on coloumn also time is also not changing in hourly and every 1 hour tasks.
I also found two jobs SM:CSA UPDATE TASKSTATUS and SM:CSA SESSION REFRESH used for this purpose and they are running fine.
Please suggest.

IE8 requires SAPGUI 720, so you may want to ensure yor SAPGUI ersion is at this level.

How to setup the system monitoring using sol man ?

Experts
can any one advise me how to setup the below monitoing.
Background jobs (SM50)         - Long running jobs >24hrs
Email/Fax transmission(SCOT) - alert if there is any failire/errors in the email transmission
iDocs Processing(WE05)          - Data Transfer failure
Enque locks (SM12)         - alert if there are any Lock entries which are older than 2 days
Update Records(SM13)         - alert if there are any update request older than 90 days

I have configured few alerts and unfortunately I am still struggling to configure these alerts. I am also not able find whether I will be able to configure these alerts are not. Any advice/tip would be a great help.

Central System Monitoring

Hi all,
When I am trying to configure the CCMS for Alerts, MTE method allocation showing <NO Methods define>.
How can I maintained the Properties of Selected Note (MTE), let me give one example CCMS (RZ20) Alert Instance Status - giving information <b>No Properties can be maintained for the selected nodes (MTE)</b>, Message type showing like <b>files cannot be accessed</b>.
Can any body help me how to fix this issue, how method to be defined in RZ20 / RZ21? If so then what is the procedure for that.

Database node appears late in System monitoring setup

Hi,
I am configuring central monitoring for my satellite systems from sloution manager. After connecting the systems through RFC when I go to setup system monitoring in DSWP I can see application server nodes but the databse node appears late, sometime after two days.
All the agents installation on satellite systems, saposcol, RFCs from Solman are OK.
Is there any reason for such delay? any known bug? My Solman is EHP1 SP03. Satellite systems mostly ERP6 or BI7.

Solution manager can be used for central system monitoring and this still uses the ccms data of monitored system to monitor centrally. CCMS can still be used to monitor your system locally.This way CCMS is not obsolete.

After SP17 - Lost system monitoring data

Hello all,
We applied SP17 to our production Solution Manager system this past weekend. We have central system monitoring set up for our production applications so that we can do our daily checklists from one place. I did the checklist for my BW system yesterday afternoon around 2 p.m. When I went to do the checklist today, I noticed that all of the items in the checklist still had Friday's date and time on them rather than yesterday's date and time. It's almost as if the database was rolled back but I can't find anything to substanciate that. Further investigation revealed that the same issue occurred for all of the systems we monitor via central system monitoring.
Has anyone ever encountered anything like this?
I am in the process of looking for any notes on this, but I thought I would post this to get any feedback.

System monitoring - DSWP and RZ21

Hi all,
I am using sap solution managers workcenter "System monitoring" to set up the sap monitornig for a huge landscape. This works well, but to receive alerts (e.g. per mail) I additionaly have to do the settings in RZ21 (assign central autoreactions). This is not very comfortable because each setting has to be done twice (in dwsp and rz21) and there is also the risk to forget something. Do you know any other possibility? Do you know about plans to integrate the functions of RZ21 into DSWP?

Central System Administration - Monitoring question

We are trying to setup the Central System Administration/Monitoring in solution manager. However, when we go into the setup of the tasks, such as "Checking for ABAP Short Dumps", when we click on the "Start ST22" button, it doesn't do anything.
Has anyone had an experience with figuring out how to get those buttons to work and to connect directly into the system we are doing the task?
We did follow Note 128447 to setup the Trusted RFC's between the systems, but that doesn't seem to working correctly either. Could that be the reason that this isn't working correctly?

May I know how did you configure your CEN monitoring, using agents, or using RFC.
And where you are checking the ABAP dumps on Workcenter?? will you able to get the other details like Job failure, if you click that, wil you able to reach the satellite system.

Before configuring CSA, you have to:
1. Perform basic settings for Solman (use wizard based approach)
2. Setup the system landscape
3. Create solution
4. Now you can configure CSA

Hi all,
In our production system definition , in DSWP --> System Monitoring/Administration for our Production systems, for one prod system, the "Display Open Tasks" - the icon is not showing up. It has disappered???? We have daily tasks defined.

The production satelleite system underwent a unicode & platform conversion and yesterday solution manager diagnostics for the production satellite system was set up - using solman_setup. Any of these changes could have caused this issue, but how?
As far as SMSY data, ADS is flagged as "relevant" in our D and Q system and the "open display tasks" icon is there and active.
WE looked at note 1478251 and we are at SAPKITL435.
I am not the task creator but am helping someone who is....
Anything else we can check?
