How to configure alert when sender CChannel failes

Hi PI Gurus,
Is there is any way to get an alert when a sender channel fails (reason connection time out etc.).
We have configured alerts for other scenarios when mapping is failing. How to handle the other situation.

  • How to configure alert to send a mail

    Hi,
I want to trigger an email when ever a particulare alert rule is ok. I have to send the internet mail. Can anybody help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Mallikarjun.M

    Hi,
If you have already configured the alert rules then you
just need to configure SAP connect and maintain the e-mail address for all the users attached to your alert category. You can go to transaction SU01 and maintain e-mail address for the each user attached to the alert category and the e-mails will automatically be sent if SAP connect is configured.
Refere the link below for SAP connect configuration..

  • Alert when Sender Communication channel is inactive/down

    Hi,
Kindly let me know if we can generate an alert using alert configurations/rules when Sender Communication channel is inactive/down.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Aditya.

May be in the channel monitoring the channel is stopped. If you are sure that the channel is active in ID and in Start mode in communication channel, then it is a cache issue. Then, perform full CPACache refresh.

  • How to configure alerts in SAP R/3 System.

    Hi,
We have R/3 system installed in our system. Now i want configure alerts to display for users. How can i configure alerts in that R/3 System.Send me the realted information and links.
    Regards,
    Kiran.

    Hi Bhogi,
The Alerts in SAP XI can be raised for error happening in:
    1. Adapter Engine
    2. Integration Engine.
    1. These Alerts are system generated in case anything happens in either of the component.
    For this you need to:
    1. Create ALert Category in the Trnasaction ALRTCATDEF
    2. Create Alert rules in Runtime Workbench--> ALert Configuration and associating these rules to Alert category.
If you want you can do it without a BPM
and throw an exception in case any of the values is missing:
have a look at this weblog on how to throw exceptions
    in a nice way:

To send an EMAIL, assign an EMAIL ID to the corresponding user in the transaction SU01 and then set up SCOT and you can send emails when the ALERT is triggered..
Once you have configure Alerts, you will get the Alerts into ALERT INBOX in RWB of the user. To also get the email, the following needs to be done,
    1. In SU01 -- Assign the Email ID for the Recipient of the ALERT.
    2. In , RWB>ALERT INBOX> PERSONALIZATION--> Time Independent Delivery and Email are selected.
    3. Finally, SCOT needs to be set up to send Emails. Check this for the same. You can ask your BASIS team to do this step.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/1edf098ea211d2b47300609419ed29/frameset.htm
Also, In ALRTCATDEF, go to SETTINGS--> CONFIGURATION. By default, the option selected is INTERNAL PROCESSING. Select the option SMTP FORWARDING AS XML and give the email id. This will enable you to send an email alert whenever an error occurs in XI.
    I hope it helps.....

    Hi,
Yes u can raise an alert:
For raising an alert you need to first configure the alert please follow the below weblog written by Michal Krawczyk
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
Configuration steps are: go to transaction ALRTCATDEF
    1) Define Alert Category
    2) Create container elements which are used for holding an error messages.
    3) Recipient Determination.
Alert can be triggered in different ways.
    1) Triggering by Calling a Function Module Directly.
    /people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/07/25/triggering-xi-alerts-from-a-user-defined-function
    2) Triggering by Calling a Function Module in the Workplace Plug-In.
    3) Triggering with an Event Linkage.
    4) Triggering with the Post Processing Framework (PPF) or Message Control (MC)
    5) Triggering from a Workflow.
    6) Triggering from CCMS with autoreaction.
    7) Triggering from BPM.

  • How to clear alert when a null value is returned for a metric column?

    Hey all,
Recently, I've encountered a problem about clearing alert when a null value is returned for a metric column. From Oracle official doc, it seems that NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL could be used for this propose. However, it doesn't.
Here is the line from doc, you can see when NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL is set as FALSE, the null value will clear alert, and the default value for NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL is FALSE.
NO_CLEAR_ON_NULL: This attribute is used to control severity clearing when a null value is returned for a metric column. It defaults to FALSE with the behavior that a null value ends up clearing previous alert severities. With a TRUE value for this attribute, null values will be skipped in severity evaluations without clearing the severity.
    TRUE | FALSE (default)
STATELESS_ALERTS: This attribute if set to TRUE indicates to EM that alerts on this
column will not have corresponding clears. This allows the UI to decide whether to
allow users to manually clear alerts on this column.
TRUE | FALSE (default)Here is my code for the metric,

WARNING. Do not confuse SQL*Plus with PL/SQL.
There is no variable command in PL/SQL. PL/SQL does support the boolean data type.
There is a variable command in SQL*Plus. It allows one to define bind variables. It is limited in the data types it supports. It does not support boolean as a bind variable type.
SQL*Plus is a CLI (Command Line Interface) client tool. It has a very limited vocabularly, allowing you to (primarily):
    a) configure its local environment (e.g. size of the terminal ito number of characters per lines)
    b) configure its bevahiour (e.g. spooling data to a file)
    c) defining substitution and bind variables
And that's it. It is not PL/SQL. It is not SQL. It takes the PL/SQL and SQL you enter, and submit that to the Oracle server. (it does some basic parsing of the data to substitute variables and bind variables where applicable)
Do not confuse this CLI client tool with the server side PL/SQL or SQL languages.

  • How to raise Alerts for Sender File Channel

    Hi All,
For Sender File Channels , we can find out the status of the adapter through RWB as to whether it is Content Conversion related exception or Folder path not found exception & etc .
I wanted to know as to whether there is any way where can rasie alerts for Sender File Channels (similar to what we do for Reciever File Channels) as well.

    I found it myself .
In Alert Configuration while we are adding alerts for a particular aler category , the following parameters needs to be checked .
Connected to Message : Not Relevant
Sender Service/Party/Interface/Namespace needs to be mentioned.
Adapter Type should be selected as File

    Hi,
This one's tricky, so tricky that I think it's not possible using Oracle built-in XML DML functions.
Even XQuery Update cannot do it (for now) because, likewise, the prefix is always redeclared at child level.
The only thing I can think of is XSLT (or maybe DOM manipulation) :

    Hi All,

My Scenario uses BPM as well.
    Thanks,

    Dear All,
For file to idoc scenario is there any possibility to get line items details or xml details i.e the segments and its related field details using reference id, transaction id or interface name or message id in SAP PI 7.0. I know we need to click each and every message in sxi_monitor and look for details.
For SAP(R3 System) I can create a report and set the job for specific time period so automatically it throws the details(like reference no, document date, invoice no from) in ftp path as .csv file. The same ftp path is maintained in program.
I wanted to check FTP--->PI postings and I have set the job at r3 system it is working fine and Im monitoring it too.
Now the end to end scenario is FTP--->PI--->ECC(R3 system). Please help. Many Thanks.
