How to configure Apex 3.2 in Oracle11gr2 RAC eniv with single http server

Hi All,
1. How to connect Apex 3.2 in oracle11gr2 RAC enironment for the single http server. We dont have any load balancing server here. I Mean to say that I need connect the two nodes from the single http(dad.conf) server.
Is it possible to connect single node database PlsqlDatabaseConnectString with TNSFormat in http dad.conf file

It is not clear what you want. But yes thats possible. I think the RAC or DB general forum would be better suited. Since it might depend upon how your listener configuration is set up.
Apex (OHS or Apex Listener) is just like any other client in this regard. You can set it up to connect to both rac nodes (load balancing style) or you could set it up to connect to one dedicated apex rac node.

Installing Apex 4 on Oracle 11.2.0.3 with Oracle HTTP Server on WINDOWS

Has someone put together a cookbook on installing the above? I have tried following the documentation; but it is in dire need of updating. I have become quite confused as to how to piece together alll of the parts. Seemed much easier in 10.2...

TIA!After a database re-install on my Windows 7 laptop 2 months ago I tried to install the HTTP server but had trouble getting it to work. After a day or two I gave up and used the EPG which works with some performance issues - pages can take many seconds to render. I think there is a conflict between the EPG and security software on the laptop but have not been able to pin down the exact problem. Anyway, the EPG is not an option for you and even Oracle does not reccommend it for production implementations. The EPG is okay for quick-and-dirty R & D but real implentation should have something better. I prefer the EPG on my laptop because the Apex listener required an extra window to be open that I was likely to close by mistake (my error yes. Reality is sometimes stupid).
I have had several sucessful installs on older versions of Apex on Oracle 9 and 10 on Windows XP using the HTTP server but always struggle with the configuration; getting the settings in the .conf file (whatever it is called now) correct remains difficult (at least for me). I keep installation notes on problems encountered and their solutions. Typical issues I encounter are
1. Incorrect configuration file settings
2. Improper loading of images
3. Missing installation steps (unlocking ANONYMOUS, for instance, or not updating the PL/SQL version).
4. Make sure the correct URL is being used
5. When using the HTTP Server making sure it is running by using its URL is very heplful
Follow the installation instructions for your platform and listener. If something does not work first review the installtion instructions very carefully, then perform web searches for answers to the problem. Except for last time when I lost patience with the HTTP server the installations have always worked.
I also find Windows 7 painful - the added security prevents me from editing needed files without jumping through hoops. I don't even want to think about Windows 8 ...

How to isolate web applications at URL level with Oracle HTTP Server?

We have 2 machines each for oracle web cache, oracle http server and oracle application server (oc4j). We would like to host many web applications on this infrastructure. We have an issue with application/web site isolation for maintenance purposes.
We have several oc4j containers for different web sites/applications but they all use one instance of Oracle Http Server. When we need to make changes to an application/web site or introduce a new web site (URL), we change the OHS configuration and restart OHS on each of the machines.
As we have many URLs hosted on this OHS and plan to host a lot more (may be around 300), we need a way to slice and dice the URLs so that every change or any change should not need to go through a regression cycle or testing cycle for all the applications each weekend (our change window). When we used Apache earlier, we used to be able to create multiple httpd.conf (process level isolation) to cater to different applications.
We could do this with Oracle Http Server too but Oracle will not support us. I appreciate any advice or suggestion with this issue.

A great idea! I recently presented at a local user group meeting about my WebSockets API (see the links in my signature). I've uploaded the presentation and the demo code I gave to our UG here.
I think the barrier to entry is with needing to know the web languages (e.g. html/css/js) as well as writing your LabVIEW code. I have joined the group and look forward to seeing some interesting content on there! Certainly some demos of using AJAX to make requests to Web Services and do something with the data (e.g. display on a graph) would be a good place to start.

Assuming an agent is running on the servers you want to monitor,
navigate to the Agent home page (Via setup --> Agent)
When in the agent home page select 'Add Database'and press [Go]
Assuming yopur database now gets recognized, select the Configure icon and enter the password for dbsnmp.
When done, press [Ok] to return to the agent home page.

Using a Single HTTP Server for Multiple APEX Instances

Our company's DBA Manager has asked if it would be possible to externalize the HTTP server portion of APEX from the DB Servers. In other words, he would strongly prefer that the DB Servers *only* run Oracle Database software.
We know that we can install the HTTP server on another box but, in thinking about how to do this, we were wondering if it is really necessary to create a separate HTTP server installation for each APEX instance. What we'd really like to do is have one HTTP server for all our our Dev boxes and several (but, not one to one) for each of our upper environments; staging, qa, prod, etc.
Right now, each instance have a single dads.conf file on each DB box. So, if we we're to attempt to consolidate them, we'd need some way to embed multiple dads files and to associate each instance with the correct one.
Has anyone ever done this or (preferably) have some examples?

I´ve tried to use APEX listener some time ago, but in a earlier version together with glassfish. So, since for me was only one database, I created the necessary amount of DAD´s on my database, each one for a specific port.

How to access Apex environments that exist in multiple SID's on same Server

HI,
I've got a Linux Server which has 3 11gr2 Development instances (SID's), in each instance I'd like to setup Apex environment (I know Apex comes with the 11gr2 DB). How can I access a specific Apex environment (on one of the SID's) when all the database instances share the same IP Address?
Any suggestions?

Can add with operator in sql server agent
SSMS -> Connect to the subscriber -> SQL Server Agent -> Alerts -> Double Click "Replication: agent failure" -> Response -> Add your operator with the alert type(s) you wish. (I recommend security groups instead of individuals).

How to configure Oracle Linux 6.5 to request ip address from dhcp server

I have installed Oracle Linux 6.5 (minimal installation) on a virtual machine created on VMware vSphere 5.5. I have tried to configure dhcp during the installation by editing IPv4 Settings of System eth0 to use Automatic (DHCP) but somehow it does not work.
Then I changed the ifcfg-eth0 to use static ip address and that works.
Here is the content of /etc/sysconfig/network:

If this is your first experience with Oracle Linux, I recommend you perform a default installation instead of going minimal, which is just going to make things more difficult for no good reason. Enterprise Linux is not MS Windows and the difference between default and minimal installations do not compare.
You also do not want to use the rpm utility to install any software and use yum instead. The yum utility is standard. Rpm does not resolve software dependencies.
Your ifcfg-eth0 script is missing the line that specifies to use DHCP:
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
You can also use the network configuration utility, even in text mode, by typing the following at the command prompt of root:
system-config-network
If the above utility is not installed:
yum install system-config-network-tui
You will have to configure an appropriate yum repository file. The process is explained in the Oracle Linux release notes:

Then insert the DVD or attach the DVD iso image to your virtual machine and mount it as following:
mkdir -p /media/ISOimage

The path "/media/ISOimage" should be the same as you specified in the yum repository file.
After that you can use the yum utility to list or install software.

Execute the Add-MailboxPermission command to delegate the read permission at mailbox level.

How to display DB specific data in WEBI for users with Single Universe

I have a WEBI report which is based on Single Universe, which can support both Oracle and SQL Server databases.
There are 2 users for this report.
1) Oracle_User
2) SQLServer_User
When 'Oracle_User' opens report in InfoView, he should see the data from Oracle DB
When 'SQLServer_User' opens the same report in InfoView, he should see the data from SQL Server DB
Please let me know how to achieve this functionality.
Can we dynamically change the Universe connection based on the User who logged into InfoView..?

Thank you for the response.
I have tried creating 2 connections and restricted each connection for each group, but in Infoview, only one group user is able to refresh the report, whose connection is exported along with the Universe. when the other group user tries to refresh the report, an error is displayed 'You donot have access the data from this Universe'.
So the reason is : 'As Universe can be exported to Repository with only one connection' that connection specific group user is able to access data from Universe Whereas other groupuser cannot( as other connection can't be exported along with the same universe).
As Universe can be exported to Repository with only one connection, how should these connections set for the corresponding groups?
Could you please provide me the detailed steps w.r.t connections restrictions...?
