EIS - Drill through columns

Hello, your help is appreciated! What is the difference between the columns assigned as Drill through in the OLAP model and the Drill Through columns in the report? I am asking this question because I learnt that we cannot mention Fact table dimension columns as Drill through, however we can use those columns in the reports. Also I am able to use the certain columns in the reports though i am not mentioning them as Drill through in the model, why is that? Thanks

How to user Drill through URL ?!

Dear All ,
We are on EPM 11.1.2.1 3 tiers production servers .
We applied ERPi path 11.1.2.1.501 with ODI 11.1.1.5 . Integration between ERPi , Hyperion planning and EBS R12
Everything is working OK . When I loaded data and enabled drill thought .
When I navigate to data form to drill through loaded data , Drill though url is empty !!!!!
I read something at ERPi document that Drill though url must not be in this format http://<servername><port>
Do you have any solution for my problem ?!!!!

How to reset drill-down column-chart based on map-chart?

Hi guys,
I'm facing pritty common issue while designing one of my dashboards. Let me describe a little bit more:
1. I have some data extracted from BW using Query as WebService into my Xcelsius spreadsheet.
2. I have map-chart - regions for some country.
3. I have a drill-down column-chart, which displays data for a selected region.
At the beginning column-chart displays results for entire country (which, in fact, is not exactly drill-down). The issue I'm fasing is, that in case I select any region and the data is drilled-down into my column-chart, I have no option to show data for the entire county in the column-chart anymore (the only one way is to restart the report).
Are there any possible way to do this, or am I doing a design error while displaying data, which is not drilled-down, into a chart which is intended to display drill-down data only?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I understand your problem now. So your column chart data which is coming from the QAAWS query should be having a prompt which is bound to some cell in excel. and your map might be passing the values for prompt isn't it? in your case the map might be passing a region.
All you need to do is put the prompt in the web service for region as a optional prompt. Now pull in a check box or a Push button(name it as reset or something.). while binding the data to the check box or push button (source data) bind it to a blank cell. when user clicks on it , it passes a blank vlaue to the region(this is ur input for region) which will inturn makes the prompt optional for the region web service. which should pull all the data for all the region.
The whole idea lies in somehow passing a blank cell to your web service whose region prompt is optional.

Hi Harini,
Your Drill through functionality is linked to an on line search website, giving you all necessary information.
During reporting, you need to have more information about selected region.
Before performing or using the Drill-Through feature, ensure that the following prerequisites have been met
        1. You are logged on to any BPC Environment with administration authorizations
        2. From home screen, Switch to the administration area by clicking planning and consolidation                          Administration link
Inside admin area you find Drill through maintainace in the content tree under the features node.
After opening the Drill through click on New button,
    There we need to enter Id, Decription, URL and model name.
If you want do Drill- through from BEx query first you need to publish the query to portal. see below I mention the procedure for publishing a query in the portal.
BEx Query Designer: In the menu bar, choose Query → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
BEx Web Application Designer: In the menu bar, choose Web Template → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
BEx Report Designer: In the menu bar, choose Report → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
After posting to portal copy that link paste in the URL address in the drill through.
In the parameter mapping add infoobjects technical names under parameters and Dimensions names under Dimension or user defined values and maintain the which property you want map mention under the property values.
And the save the query and go to the excel and you have an option in the excel ribbon Drill Through and click on that, you will get the query which you are posted in the portal.

How to add drill-through action programmingly

I am using a third-party tool to create the SSAS cube. That tool does not have the function to create a drill-through action so I have to manually add the drill-through each time after I overwrite the SSAS database.
Is there a way to add the drill-through action through code, like XMLA? I googled this topics for a while but could not find the answer.

U can use AMO(Analysis Management Objects) to create a whole SSAS Database.

Can anyone please hel me with examples - how to confihure drill down on bubble chart.
that means,
1) whenever the user clicking the bubbles - the pop up window should display some notes related to that bubble
and also in another requirement
2) whenever the user click the bubble - the pie chart should display the values related to that bubble.

If the Bubble size is constant we can do this.But as you know Bubble sizes varies from once to one place..It will be tough scenario if you want to do it here..Instead take a label based menu and try to use dynamic visiblity .And show labels in there which contains the text for the respective labels..

How to use drill-through functionality of EIS in HFR.

I am trying to use drill-through functionality of EIS in HFR but that functionality is not coming in HFR.
Can we use drill-through in HFR?

How to Jump (Drill-through) between WebI query (also in Crystal Report)

Hi BO experts,
I read that we can achieve drill-down in Crystal Report and WebI.
But I have requirements here to jump (like RRI or Report to Report Interface) in BEx Analyzer and to pass some values (as parameter), i need to achieve:
1. jump between WebI queries (in WebI)
2. jump between Crystal Report reports (in Crystal Report)
3. jump from Crystal Report to WebI
I read that in WebI, jump can be achieved by just opening the URL of the receiver query, but we can't pass on certain values as parameter from the sender query to the receiver query (which is possible in RRI case).
Has anyone ever done it before? Please let me know how to achieve it..

You can navigate beween report using Report Linking. This can be achieved through an Opendocument functionality.
Using Opendocument, you can call a webi report from a parent webi report and then pass parameter's as well. Wigooglth the same feature you can invoke a crystal report also from a webi report and pass values.
In crystal report also you can use Opendocument. However there are better features like sub-reports to do this.
You can google for opendocument or search in SDN to get detailed documentation of OpenDocument.

How to create RunningValue Through Column Groups?

Hi Everybody i´m trying to do this with a Matrix
I want the running value of the product quantity for each month of a year,
resetting the running value
when a new year is reached
I have 2 column groups "Year" and as it´s child group "Month".
                     2009
2010
                     January Febrary March      January   February March

Well that is the idea...
In the field of the quantity i´m using an expression like this = RunningValue(Fields!Quantity.Value, Sum, Nothing) .
With this expression i get the the running value and it´s great, but
it does not reset thru the years ,
it continues aggregating the quantity value.
So i tried with this expression assuming if i set the SCOPE to the Year group i can achieve this
= RunningValue(Fields!Quantity.Value, Sum, "Year") ,
But surprise!!, this is not giving me the right aggregation , i´m still dig in it and can´t find what it actually aggregates.
Am I doing something wrong?.

Based on your information, I get your requirement completely, here you want to accumulate the value of month from
Jan to March whin one year, then return to Jan again whin another year. If I misunderstand you please do not hesitate to let me know.
Now the issue you are encountering is that the value does not reset through the different years.
Actually, nomatter it is 2009 or 2010, RunningValue function takes different years as the same scope, so the value does not reset
through the different years. Just like picture3.
To workaround the issue, we might need to utilize the subreport in the main report, for detailed steps please follow
these:
1.
Design the subreport with two column groups
Year, Month and one row group Product.
2.
Type in the expression in the data textbox
=RunningValue(Fields!Yourdatafield.Value,sum,"Product") Here
Product is the row group name.
3.
Add one parameter
Year to the subreport, of course you should add the parameter year behind the where clause in the T-sql. Such as
select * from yourtable where Year=@Year
4.
Delete the
Year column and Product column, here please make sure you just delete the column only rather than deleting the relevant reportitem.
5.
Decrease the height and width of the report to the report control size, then there is no blank space when displayed in the main report.
6.
Drag a matrix to the main report, just add one column group
Year.
7.
Then drag a subreport control into the data textbox, and then rigth-click the subreport control->select subreport
properties
8.
In the Subreport Properties dialogbox, please selec the subreport name in the drop-down list of

Parameter tab, click Add button to add a parameter, then select the
Year in the Name drop-down list and
Year datafield in the Value drop-down list.

Click OK.

Now add another table control into the
main report body with one column, and drag the product datafiled into the data textbox. Then group the table by

Drag this table into the
Rows textbox of the main report. Here make sure the height of the rows in Subreport and table creted in step11 is the same, otherwise the lines in not stay in the same level.
Preview the report, you will see the report like picture2.

I believe your computer is already configured and has all the requirements for Wake on Lan since it works locally. To do it remotely you need to open the regular port numbers used for WOL like UDP ports 9 and 32767. Your desktop IP address must be set to static because that's what you need to enter on the port forwarding page of your router.
