How to configure field point cFP2120

Hi,
I am doing a project using LabVIEW... I am using field point cFP2120 as the interface... The problem is that my PC is not detecting the field point... Can you suggest a solution???

Number of Flashes        Error Condition
0 (stays lit)                     The cFP-21xx did not power on correctly. Contact
                                       National Instruments for assistance.
1                                     The cFP-21xx is in reset mode or is unconfigured. Make
                                       sure the RESET IP switch is in the OFF position and
                                       restart the controller. Refer to the Measurement &
                                       Automation Explorer Help for FieldPoint for more
                                       information about configuration.
2                                     The cFP-21xx has detected an error in software. This
                                       usually occurs when an attempt to upgrade the software
                                       is interrupted. Repeat the software upgrade process.
3                                     The cFP-21xx is in safe mode. Either the controller is
                                       ready for software installation or the SAFE MODE
                                       switch is in the ON position.
4 (or more)                    The cFP-21xx has detected an unrecoverable error.
                                      Contact National Instruments for assistance.
In which of these condition are you? If you never configured that module, and led flashes once, you have the correct start-up condition, but it is strange that you cannot access module; check if Windows Fierewall is turned ON or if Antivirus' firewall is ON, they can be blocking MAX in connecting to device!

I would kindly request all to please help to solve how to reconfigured Field point hardware, I am new learner of labVIEW.
When i run Fieldpoint explorer 1.6, in labview 5.1 operating WINDOWS 95 version, i received one command as
A value return from the server is out of the expected range.
The FieldPoint hardware ranges need to be re configured, so they match the ranges saved in the configuration file.
Go to each device configuration dialog and select channel configuration to synchronize the saved configuration with the hardware configuration.

That is correct. There is no way to simulate a FieldPoint device. The suggested workaround should work well for you, however. Create some simulated VIs that perform the same task as the FieldPoint writes and reads (at least in terms of what inputs they accept or outputs they have), and place them in the other case in a Case Structure as the FieldPoint VIs.
LabVIEW 8 takes these possibilities one step further with Conditional Disable Structures and Diagram Disable Structures. The difference between these two structures and a Case Structure is that code in the disabled cases doesn't even compile. This means you could even have broken wires or broken subVIs inside the disabled case, and you'd still be able to run your program. In the case of this FieldPoint application, you could use a Conditional Disable Structure that automatically polls the target OS type (Windows, Linux, Pharlap ETS, etc) and selectively compiles one case based on the target OS. This would allow you to seamlessly run VIs on your computer and FieldPoint without modifying any code. The other advantage is that the simulated FieldPoint code wouldn't get compiled when you target your real FieldPoint device, so you wouldn't increase your code size or memory usage unnecessarily for the final product.

How to configure field value in Recruitment (PB) ?

Hi,
I would like to configure drop down list value for the fields in Recruitment (PB), for eg: PB40 - Initial entry of basic data.
Also, I would like to know how to configure the screen layout for PB40 also, is it through SPRO or something?

How to run field point vi without the fieldpoint?

I'm running LV 7.1. I'm writing a vi that uses compact fieldpoint modules for DAQ and control. The system is located in another lab. I'd really like to be able to work on the vi at my desktop, but of course not having the cFP connected makes that a problem, at least when I try to run the program.
Is there some sort of "dummy" mode for cFP that will let my system actually run the vi? The cFP is on a private subnet, so I can't get to it over ethernet (although I guess I could try putting it on the public net). I could replace all the cFP express vis, I guess, but that would be a real pain to swwitch back and forth.

Configuring shipping point as Trigger point for posting outbound idoc

Hello All,
I have a requirement that on saving an Outbound Delivery(VL02N), an Outbound Idoc should be posted...but the condtion for posting the idoc should be its shipping point. I am not sure how to configure shipping point as the trigger point for the idoc.

Hi Anand,
1. Go to transaction: NACE & select application V2 and click on output types.
2. change display <->Change mode.
3. select LAVA and press F6 (to copy Standard output type LAVA to ZLAV).
4. Give ur Z name for the new custom output type.
5. change access sequence from 0005 to 0012(shipping point).
6. Press ENTER and click copy all.
7. Now goto trasaction VV21, give the created output type name. ENTER
8. Maintain entries, shipping point, customer#, Medium as '6' ...etc
Now try VL01N with the given shipping point and check the output ZLAV has been triggered or not?

Hi, You can create end points in the NWA.
SOA Management->Technical Configuration->Destination template management.

How can I get all the options of Field Point Explorer 3.0.2 in Measurement and Automation Explorer 3.1?

I am a student using LabVIEW and Compact Field Point to implement a
senior design project in Electrical and Computer Engineering. We
have LabVIEW 7.1 and a cFP-2020 and additional modules. We are
trying to use the CTR-500 module to output a pulse train to drive a
stepper motor. We have found instructions online of how to do
this, but they all use Field Point Explorer. The instructions
make use of options in Field Point Explorer that are not included in
Measurement and Automation Explorer (the software included with the
cFP).
I have downloaded Field Point Explorer 3.0.2 and followed the
directions. Now, in LabVIEW, when I using the newly created .iak
file, I get a dialogue asking to find the SubVI: 'FP Read (Float Array
-IO).vi'. Included with LabVIEW are subvis for FP Read, but not
with the float array part. So I figure I cannot use Field Point
Explorer created .iaks with LabVIEW 7.1. So how cannot I access
the same options in Measurement and Automation that I was able to find
in Field Point Explorer?

Hi,
FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX. The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.

The field point 4.1 software does not get installed, how to install the software and work on field point 20xx

We want to know the basics of installation of field point s/w and where to start from after installation.
Then we also need the details of HOW TO WORK in it. what are the other hardware and software that are necessarily to be installed along with field point in the PC. How to connect the hardware fp2000, to the PC.
Actually we tried installing the field point s/w, but we did not get the field point explorer icon to continue working.

Very Urgent: how to define field symbols in class using se24 Points assured

hi all
I am new to abap oo programming. I am using se24 to build a class
where some methods have code which involves working with field sybmols but i am not able to figure out way for how to define field symbols in the attributes section.
I tried defining like : fld_sym type ref to dbtab-fld
but in the method implementation if i try to use it like assign fld to <fld_sym> there it says fld_sym is not defined as a field symbol.
So can anyone please guide me how to define field symbols in se24.
Also what should be the general steps while creating a class using se24.

Global classes are like Global fun modules in which the Methods and code is already written and is mainly used for Reusability purpose.

How do i measure the frequency of a sine wave using a field point counter module

I need to measure the frequency of the sine wave using field point. is it possible and if yes how. do i need to convert the sine wave signal to square wave. Please let me know.

It probably would be easiest to convert the sine wave to a square wave with a simple external circuit and then use a counter module to measure the frequency. There is a shipping example in LabVIEW that shows how to measure frequency with a FieldPoint Counter module.

How to configure AP Express to function as only an access point.

I have AP Extreme Base station as my wireless router. I'd like to use my AP Express as only an access point for a secondary printer. I don't want to have the AP Express also serving as a range extender since it compromises my internet upload/downloads speeds. Can it be done?

Using field points how the dc voltage measurement is done?

i am new to labVIEW.. Using cFP-AI 100 i am trying to measure a dc voltage [5volts].. all the field point items are configured on MAX. when the example VI provided runs there is error indicating that the connection is broken or network module is not pwered on.. but i have checked both .. What may be the problem?

When you say "all the FP items are configured on MAX," does that mean you can see and connect to the device? Can you take readings in MAX from the FieldPoint module I/O menu under the Data Neighborhood?
If you're able to read from the I/O menu you are probably using the default I/O point in the example. It's usually necessary to choose the I/O point before running the example.

Could you please let me know if the status LED (or any other LEDs are blinking) in a particular pattern on your fieldpoint controller? Also, could you please let me know what controller you are using and if you get a particular error code? Thanks!

Did you actually read the pop up?
You need to set up your device in MAX by finding in the Remote Systems area, right clicking and selecting Find Devices. Then you need to save your configuration in an iak file (from the Tools>>FieldPoint menu) and then you need to load that iak file in LV as described in the pop up.

How to enable keyboard shortcuts for configuration entry point?

Hello All,
In my process model, I have a configuration entry point sequence (sequence). I can able to select the corresponding entry from the menu bar ie. configure --> options (for eg). Now I need to have a keyboard shortcut for the same. In my case if I press (for eg) ctrl+w, the configuration entry point sequence must be called.
Note - I have to do this using .NET programmatically.
Is there any way I can incorporate this mechanism...?

Hello Arun,
At this time there is not anyway to customize the keyboard shortcut keys for menu items you add to the TestStand sequence editor. R&D is looking into implementing this in a future version of TestStand. I'll pass along your feedback to them, and let them know there are others interrested in this feature.
