HOW TO CONFIGURE GUEST NETWORK AND LIMITE BANDWIDTH

Dear all,
Please help me how to configure internet access rule and limited the bandwidth for guest network via TMG Forefront 2010.
Thanks you & best regards,
Hung Viet

Hi,
First you can create the new network set which is mapped to guest subnet, after that you can create access rule for this network set.
If you want to control bandwidth, you may need 3-party tool like this:http://www.bsplitter.com/

  • How to setup Guest Network Name in Cisco Router

    Hello everyone!
The first. Sorry my english =)
I want tald you how to change guest network name in cisco (what have different name)
    What we need.
    1. Cisco Connect for Mac OSX (i use snow leopard and Cisco Connect for E3000)
    2. Terminal
    Okay. Let's go.
    1. Install Cisco Connect for OSX
    2. After setup - slighty setup your cisco router (give something name and password), then, when cisco connect say you "You now connected the internet" and going to main screen - exit from cisco connect
    3. Open Terminal (Or you can use Finder (go to Application, show package content Cisco Connect))
    4. Go to /Application/Cisco Connect.app/Contents/Resources/lcid/<your setup language, for english - go 1033>/

    11.Exit Cisco Setup
    12. Go to web interface setup
    13. Setup Wifi manual and change SSID for diferent names. I change 5Gh to 'Grizlly Bear Hi-Speed Network' and 2.4GHz to 'Grizlly Bear Main Network'
    14. Setup your hostname for all services (fileserver, media server, etc)
    Woala!
We have three diferent names network!
    Questions?

In order to enable Guest networking, the AirPort Extreme must be configured as your "main" Internet router. In this configuration, Connection Sharing = Share a Public IP address. The Extreme would be connected directly to the Internet modem and NOT downstream of another router with NAT enabled.
In this configuration, the Guest network would provide access ONLY to the Internet and NOT to your LAN.

  • Lost my guest network and VOIP is no longer....

    Hello peeps,
So, this is what I DID have going on (sorry for any incorrect terminogly, I'm not overly techi)..
Centurylink Lynx 220 modem, 3rd gen TC linked to that and from the TC I HAD my VOIP (voice over internet phone?) working just fine.  2 wireless networks, one as the household main and a guest network for......... well, guests lol..
I have been spending a massive amount of time on the phone with centurylink just of late, we pay for 8meg downloads butwhen doing speed tests we were lucky to get 1meg.  So, we got a new modem....
and this is what I have NOW....
Westell 7500 Modem, 3rd gen TC linked to that, bloody VOIP is NOT working, LOST my GUEST network and for love or money I can't add another one, that option seems to have completely gone AWOL.....
On the plus side, speed test now shows 7meg of download speed..
Any idea on what has changed?  other than the modem change??  could that of made that difference?  Any idea on how to get my life back??
We love the option of the guest network as we can turn it on and off for my Son.. Good boy = ON  Bad boy = OFF haa haaa haaa  how I love that power
Any info would be great.. Thank you

Guest network apparently.. (I haven't tested) does not work in bridge mode on the TC.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/12853944#12853944
As that is the case you must run the TC as a router. Update to latest firmware and latest utility if not already maybe a help.. or a hinderance if you are already there.. visa versa .. go backwards.. Apple don't get them right all the time.
Secondly the modem should be in bridge and using PPPoE client on the TC so it is a full router. This may solve the voip issue as well since your modem may not be setup correctly for voip.

  • How to configure the runtime and consolidation for a track in CMS.

How to configure the runtime and consolidation for a track in CMS.
I can see the track exists in CMS but the same doesnt pull up in the NWDS in the development configuration perspective.
I compared the given track with the one which gets pulled up in NWDS. Theres something called runtime system and consolidation which isnt defined for the track which is invisible.
Please advise , what are these required for. And how can we configure the same.

The runtime systems are defined for a track to setup the Transport path for any code changes....the Consolidation system is usually defined as a Virtual system for the track and used for comparison and fixing any broken or Dirty DC's ....that means it's not used as a Runtime System for Deployment as compared to DEV,QAT and PROD used for Deployment...
    Hope it helps..

    Dear all,
How to configure E-mail and Chat functionalities for IC Webclient.
through IC Webclient ICI interface how can we configure E-mail functionality, As per my understanding, E-mails can be handled in a similar way of receiving phones.
Where these E-mails can be stored?, Where we define agent E-mail id?
being ICI is a multi channel support does it need SMPT server support? If No, would there be any difference in the functionality?
    How does CHAT functionality works?
Please educate in above scenarios to get a better understanding.

  • How do I configure Guest network to access ethernet wired printer?

I have a wired/wireless network with a new dual band AEBS. The AEBS is connected to a Cisco router, which in turn sends it's connections to various wall-plates in our home. One HP 4110 printer is wired via it's ethernet port, one Mac Mini (OS 10.6.2) is hard wired also. The dual band AEBS 5 GHz network is used for our newer laptops, and the 2.4 GHz network is used for a G3 Firewire PowerBook (now don't make fun... it was the best there was at one time) running OS 10.4.11.
The PowerBook cannot access the printer that is hard wired via ethernet cable to the network. How do I get the PowerBook on the "Guest" network to access the printer?
I tried searching these discussions, but can't find an answer to my specific issue. Any help is appreciated.

Since you have a simultaneous dual-band AEBS, why not connect your PowerBook G3 to the non-Guest 2.4 GHz network created?
Can I take an AEBS that is a couple of years older (I have a couple of the flying saucers around here somewhere), wire that to an available ethernet port on the LAN, and then connect the older PowerBook G3 to that older AEBS wirelessly?
    Sure
If so, will that arrangement slow down the entire system?
    No
If that won't work, and I connect the PowerBook G3 directly to an ethernet port, will that slow down the other wireless computers?
Yes you can connect your PowerBook G3 via Ethernet. That would have no effect on the wireless computers.

  • How to extend secure network and guest network.

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find it.
I have an Airport Extreme running the 7.6.3 firmware.  Once Comcast gets their act together it will be running off a static IP.  I want to wirelessly extend my guest WiFi and my secure WiFi.  What do I need to get this done?  Do I need to get an Express for each network? Or can another Extreme repeat both networks?  Eventually I hope we will have Cat5 running to the repeater's location but that could be a long way off.
    Thanks!

I cannot get the web page to open when I do a search on the SMC8014, but it appears that this is a modem/router or gateway type of device.....which will not allow the Guest Network feature to be enabled on the AirPort Extreme.
I did find this, which confirms that the SMC is a modem/router or gateway....not what you want.
    http://www.speedguide.net/routers/smc-smc8014-biz-business-cable-gateway--534
The solution is to find out from SMC or your Internet Service Provider whether or not the 8014 can be configured to operate in "Bridge Mode".....which would then allow you to configure the AirPort Extreme to operate as the main router on the network. This would allow the Guest Network option on the AirPort Extreme to be enabled correctly.
Or better yet.....ask your ISP for a simple modem.......not a modem/router or gateway type of device.
So assuming this is all compatable (or I get compatable equipment),  I can extend both networks with 1 express or 1 extreme?
    That is correct.

  • How to configure backup network in Network Load Balancing?

Some time ago I failed to find proper discription, how backup Network should be configured in NLB, because it seems to be too many options here. I´m having troubles in MBAM, its IIS autherization failing with error code 401 when dedicated FQDN adress is
used which points to NLB cluster. More information about my MBAM problem is here:
    https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/a0dbe7d9-6440-42f2-99e1-21563647764f/mbam-25-installation-on-2-web-servers-as-ha-with-nlb-an-error-has-occurred-on-helpdesk-website?forum=mdopmbam
Now I need to know, what is the proper way to configure NIC and TCP/IP in NLB hosts. As I see it, there are few options but which one is the one?
    1. On hosts, 1st NIC is with domain IPs, 2nd NIC is direct IP to another´s host 2nd NIC. This is the way how it should be done in Fail-Over Cluster, but this method does not seem to work witn NLB at all. Cluster adress does not respond.
    2. On hosts, 1st and 2nd NIC is configured both to domain Network, same subnet. 2nd nic does not have default gateway. This method works somehow, but displays error in NLB console, when cluster is created.
    3. On hosts, there is only one NIC to domain Network and no backup Network at all. This probably requires multicast mode? In MBAM HA documentation, NLB is discribed as unicast.
Hosts, meaning nodes, are 2012 R2 and located on Hyper-V 2012 R2. MAC spoofing is enabled.
    - An additional side question - is it true, that NLB feature is not so reliable, and non-Microsoft hardware NLB is recommended for big companies, or
did I just mess my NLB configuration so bad?

    Hi yannara,
When you use NLB cluster node with multiple NIC, you can choose different NLB mode, such as
Single network adapter in unicast mode
A cluster in which ordinary network communication among cluster hosts is not required and in which there is limited dedicated traffic from outside
the cluster subnet to specific cluster hosts.
More detail how to select NLB mode you can refer the following KB:

  • WRT1900AC - WPA2 on Guest Network and Setting Domain Name

I'm configuring a new WRT1900AC (version 1) and have a couple of questions.  The first should be easy, on the Connectivity -> Internet Settings page on the right side under the heading Optional the Domain Name (provided via the DHCP server, Comcast in this case) is displayed, but I cannot change it.  How do I set the Domain Name to reflect my local domain? The second question is a bit more daunting.  I have two main wifi segments (one each on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) that are each secured by WPA2.  They work great so far.  I also have two Guest wifi segments (one each on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz), I cannot figure out how to secure these with WPA2.  You can set a passwword for each of the Guest wifi segments, and instruct users to open a web browser after connecting and enter this password, but that's not a secure connection.  Please tell me there is a way to secure the Guest network via WPA2, nobody wants to use an insecure internet connection in this day and age...... -MC

That's exactly why you want the connection encrypted, so EVERYTHING you send is encrypted and not sniffable.  The intended use of this Guest network is for renters at a condo resort, who will likely be doing banking and the like while on vacation.  If we only provide an open/unencrypted network for them they can't (or at least shouldn't) use it. I have a Netgear R7500 in place right now, it doesn't have any of these problems (e.g. you can specify the domain name even on with a dynamic WAN IP, and all 4 network segments are WPA2 encrypted).  Unfortunately, it's totally unreliable - the 4 network segments randomely disappear and stop working all the time, and the signal range is poor.  I "downgraded" to this 1900AC because this router has a better reputation for stability and range (and indeed, I've been testing it for several days now and stability and range seem to be its strong points, not a single problem so far), but these firmware decisions by Linksys are forcing me to reconsider this router.  -MC

  • Wireless and guest network and HREAP

    Hi,
I have inherited a wireless infrastructure which comprises of a head office with WCS and WLC plus LWAPP access points.
There is a sub office in another town who wishes to deploy a wireless infrastrucure and it struck me that as they only want to deploy a couple of AP's that HREAP would be good to use in this senario.
However they want to also use the guest wireless network that we have in the head office but I dont want their guest traffic to come to our DSL modem that we have set up for the HO guest wireless. The two offices are connected via an MPLS link which doesnt need anymore traffic on it.
Is there a way of configuring the HREAP and the WLC and WCS so that the sub office breaks out locally for guest and yet the lobby admin at HO can control the password?
    Many thanks,

    Hi Nell,
the feature you are looking for is "H-REAP local switching".
So you can set the remote AP to H-REAP mode (which optimizes it for "behind a WAN link") and from there you can set several ssids as "local switching".
this means that everything about the authentication phase is handled by WLC but after authentication, the traffic is dropped locally at the AP and doesn't transit through the WLC.
The guest SSID has to be enabled for local switching and then, on the H-REAP APs, go in the AP configuration (from WLC "wireless" tab, then click on ap) and in the hreap tab, you can configure the vlan where the guest traffic will be dropped on  the remote site. It must be a vlan that exists on the remote site and users will get a DHCP address on that vlan.
    Regards,
    Nicolas

  • Guest network and multiple VLANs

    Hello all,
I have installed a pair of 5508 controllers in our network. One controller sits inside the network and APs are configured to associate with that controller. The second controller sits on a DMZ interface off the ASA. I have a guest network configured and it works great. I would like to configure additional guest networks at remote locations. Each guest WLAN will have it's own SSID. Is it possible to map all of these to the same VLAN? Or do I need a seperate VLAN and subnet for each SSID.
    Thanks

    Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I have created different SSIDs and mapped them to the same VLAN. Everything looks good but I'm getting some strange behaviors on the new SSIDs. It appears that users don't authenticate but I've verified the credentials quite a few times. I wanted to make sure that you could map multiple SSIDs to the same VLAN before I continued troubleshooting.

  • How  to configure the network on Sun Solaris 8

The Sun workstation is a license server, and Window NT workstation need to access the license file that located in the sun workstation.
Now the Window NT workstation cannot connect with the sun solaris, and I guess that I need to configure the network on Sun Solaris 8.
Could you please tell me how to do that step by step?
If there is the system tool like the window system to configure the network easily and quickly.
    I appreciate it.
    Mark

If your sun system is working then probably it has network configured already .You can check it by the following command on the sun.
    ifconfig -a
Generally applications asks where license server is located and you need to give the ip-address or host name only . Application docs will give more detail about it.
You can get ip-address from ifconfig comand above.
