How to configure hotline feature in CUCM 8.5?
The hotline is like emergency phone with no keypad, and shall be connected to an identical phone automatically when it's placed in an off-hook condition?
seems very easy but i donot know where to configure this.
Thanks!
Hotline is a little different from PLAR -
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/8_0_2/ccmfeat/fsgd-802-cm/fshotline.html
hotline was introduced in 8.0 and is different from plar in that:
The hotline feature adds the additional restriction that hotline devices that receive calls will only receive calls from other hotline devices, and will reject non-hotline callers.
Hotline != Hotdial

How to configure N82 "features"?
hallo
at first i'am sorry for my english....
i have a few questions about N82 and it functionality
1.
the worst thing in this device - media (gallery) keys. First - the thin key between Cancel and Delete keys. Second - on the right side, near the Camera key.
Tell please, is there a way to change it functionality? I almost dont use gallery at all, and i not need two keys to access it. It be better for me set them to.... for example, first key to quickly switch language, second - to rotate screen and, when camera is activated, switch camera/video modes
2.
there is standby mode on desktop. Its include six icons in horizontal line on top of desktop, i can configure them; and 7 lines (as max), shortcuts in the center of desktop. By default its Search app, Calendar events and Wi-Fi shortcut. How can i configure them? I not need Search and WiFi quick launch, but i would like to see some shortcuts to active apps, selected by me, on my desktop. And its be more useful to see shortcuts to unread sms and missed calls etc...
3.
How can i quickly access to my desktop? I found only one way - red Reject key, but this key close active app, and i didnt like it. Another way is the press Menu key twice - its terrible
4.
Next feature is in the Contacts. If some of additional fields has more then one line, or text is too long, there is no way to see this note, except to start to edit this contact and scroll to needed note.
thanksok, thanks, i understand
4. i told about to look at the note, not edit
exapmle:
name: John
phone: 02
street: Crazy Revolution st, house 34, appt. 88
save it
now try to fing out an address. Open contact, you see name, phone ok. But if you want to see a flat number, you must switch to edit mode, becouse of you see only "Crazy Revolution s..." and nothing more. That is realy bad. This is concern to any other field - name, phone, email etc. And what is worse, you cannot cancel editing and cancel changes. You can you save changes and revert info before editing. Realy bad design and user interface.
btw, i havnt Outlook on my home PC, i dont need this monster
and PC Suite dont allow me to edit contacts..... -
How to configure Engaged IVR on CUCM?
Hi All,
I would like to configure an engaged IVR on general line number 9000 in CUCM, whenever people making calls to this number, if the receptionist is busy or on the other line, the caller will get the engaged IVR and the call will hang up.
The current setup for DN 9000 --> 9000 is a CTI Route Point in CUCM which point to the queue in Attendant Console, all the incoming calls will be dealt by CT Gateway Devices of the Attendant Console, receptionist with DN 8800 will login to the Attendant Console Client with this DN, so any calls to 9000 will be forwarded to 8800, and calls will be in the queue waiting to be answered by receptionist.
The engaged IVR is configured in Cisco Unity Connection as a System Call Handler Greeting with DN 1200.
With this setup, how can I configure the engaged IVR? I have tried to configure "forward busy" and "forward no answer" to 1200 on both 9000 and 8800, but still it is not working. Anyone can advise me on this?
Thanks.You need to set the Unity Connection parameter to Forward routing rules with Last redirect number on unity connection not the initial called. I had this issue in the past and Jaime V pointed out that this is the expected behavior without modifying that parameter. Just keep in mind that this is a global change.
Here is a post I had awhile ago that JaVa had helped me out with.

CWMS v.2 - how to configure CWMS to authenticate user with CUCM
Hi,
I have a CUCM with no LDAP or AD integration. I already configured the directory integration with CUCM and it synchronized the user accounts to CWMS. When trying to login with end user account, password configured in CUCM doesn't work. What is the process to configure CWMS to authenticate with CUCM user database? Thanks.
-AlanHi Alan,
CUCM and LDAP integration is a prerequisite for using Directory Integration on CWMS.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/1_5/Administration_Guide/Administration_Guide_chapter_01011.html#task_DB0D271D6EB1459EB4DA269461E93B36
Before You Begin
You must configure AXL and LDAP directory service on CUCM before you can use the directory integration feature. CUCM is required to import users into your Cisco WebEx Meetings Server system. Use CUCM to do the following:
Enable Cisco AXL Web Service
Enable Cisco directory synchronization
Configure LDAP integration
Configure LDAP authentication

How to configure N9 for push e-mail?
Does anybody know how to configure N9 for push e-mail? It should be possible because push email is part of Nokia's N9 official specs but I'm unable to find any reference in the manual or online.
I know that I am late to the party but just got my N9. The push email works fine for my Exchange & my Gmail but for my mail.com account (which I believe is really AOL) it only syncs when I manually tell it to. I have it set to "always up to date" ... does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Update: just fixed it myself but in case it helps anyone I turned on the Push Notifications & that did the trick. Which is kind of odd bc I notifications from my Gmail & MS Exchange automatically did it but I guess that feature has to be turned on for this email.
Wish all the features on the N9 had the "I" icon which you could press for more info as I thought that option would just let you know when your email was syncing (like the little arrow on the top right). Oh well - now if I can just get my contacts/calendar off of my PC's OutLook & onto my N9 ...................
Cheers! -

There is a feature in Workflow Models to Notify users by sending mail.
Can anyone help me find from where to configure mail service.Hi,
If you open up the Configuration Console on the DRM Server you should be able to navigate to the second tab called "Host Machines".
From there, select SMTP Server - and enter the details for your SMTP server. You've now configured DRM to send emails... now you just need to add it into your workflows... -
Hi,, everyone...
My messaging server version is as follow...
root@idm02/users/leeky/mail6.3/sbin>./imsimta version
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-8.01 (built Dec 16 2008; 32bit)
libimta.so 6.3-8.01 (built 17:17:19, Dec 16 2008; 32bit)
SunOS idm02 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
Question is how to configure N+1 HA with Messaging Server 6.3.
I am using Veritas Cluster S/W and I already configured my message servers N+1 with iMS5.2p2 and one Asymmetric HA configuration with Messaging Server 6.3.
No problem with iMS5.2p2(N+1 configuration) and Asymmetric HA configuration(6.3).
In near future,however, I will upgrade all of my Messaging Servers to 6.3 with N+1 HA configuration.
With iMS5.2p2, I had no problem to configure N+1.
But I do not know how to configuire N+1 with 6.3 because 6.3 can be installed only one instance in one machine.
-- iMS5.2p2 N+1 configuration --
A node: have mount point + shared disk
B node: have mount point + shared disk
HA node: have only A and B mount point
all binary,config and user data are stored in shared disk.
When A node and(or) B node are failed, Veritas cluster stops all service(=unmounts shared disk ) and mounts to HA node.
It was possible way because iMS5.2p2 supports multi instance environment.
I read under books, but I could not found relevant information
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-4428/gedso?a=view <-- very unkind explanation
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/hub_articles/message_srvr_cluster.pdf <-- only describe Asymmetric
According to those books, binaries can be installed on a local disk in each A,B and HAnode and then run useconfig in HA node.
Config and user data is stored in a shared disk.
With this way, I can bulid up between A and HA node(it's find because it's the same as Asymmetric configuration method )
But between B and HA node, what should I do ?
What kind of way should I use to install or configure B and HA node ? I can not install 6.3 in HA node and link files under {ServerRoot}
I tried many ways, but I failed and failed.
Any Good idea, advice or document ?
Thanks

Config and user data is stored in a shared disk.Using the altroot mechanism, binaries can be installed (and patched) on a shared disk. When you patch you use the "-R <altroot> path" e.g. patchadd -R /opt/comms/inst1/ 123456-78
Any Good idea, advice or document ?I recommend you move to MS7u3 (Communication Suite 7) and use the altroot functionality.

I would appreciate your help on how to configure a gmail in a way it ask for the password everytime I connect?. In the only way I can configure it I have to include the pw when configuring the account and after that it do not ask for pw so everyone that shares my iPad can oppen my mail with no pw required.
ThankThe iPad is designed to be a single user device, and there is currently no way to password protect the Mail app - even removing the account password from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars will just prevent new mail being downloaded, it won't hide those that have already been downloaded. There is this work-around for the app : https://discussions.apple.com/message/13127632#13127632 . Also there might be third-party email apps that feature password protecting.

How to configure initial-context-factory and provider_url on Websphere MQ
I have a few questions about WebSphere MQ. Currently, my application is able work well with other JMS provider. But I would like to move to use WebSphere instead.
Can anyone suggest me how to configure the application connecting WebSphere?
 Im using the Initial java naming factory as bellows: com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactoryIs it the correct class?
 About the java-naming-factory-url, How do I know what object that I should use? I found this example in JMSAdmin.config iiop://localhost:7555 Whats iiop ?
 What jar file that I should add in my classpath?Hi,
You have a few options...
1. Use WebSphere Application Server as the JNDI provider
2. Don't use JNDI
3. Use the File System Context as the JNDI provider
Exploring these options in a bit more detail...
1. Use WebSphere Application Server as the JNDI provider
Assuming you have WAS, the best way of obtaining your queue is to define the Queue and Queue Connection Factory objects in WAS using the admin console, then obtain them from the Initial Context as per the following article
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.express.doc/info/exp/ae/rnam_example_prop2.html
If you prefer not to do JNDI lookups in your code a great alternative is to use Spring (www.springframework.org). If you haven't come across spring before it's well worth a look. One of it's many features is a bean factory for creating your objects. There is lots of support for retrieving JMS objects from JNDI, so in the main all you have to do is write some XML similar to the following...
<bean id="jndiTemplate" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiTemplate">
<property name="environment">
<props>
<prop key="java.naming.factory.initial">${jndi.initialContextFactory}</prop>
<prop key="java.naming.provider.url">${jndi.providerUrl}</prop>
</props>
</property>
</bean>
<bean id="queueConnectionFactory" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
<property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate"/>
<property name="jndiName" value="${jndi.queueConnectionFactory}"/>
</bean>
<bean id="queueName" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
<property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate"/>
<property name="jndiName" value="${jndi.queueName}"/>
</bean>There's a bit more to it than this, but not much. I've been meaning to write a tutorial on this for a while so if you're interested let me know.
2. Don't use JNDI
This approach involves using the creating the native MQ Queue Connection Factory and Queue classes. You can hard code this, but it's much better to abstract it from your application. Again you can use Spring. The definition would look something like the following...
<bean id="MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP"
class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean">
<property name="staticField">
<value>com.ibm.mq.jms.JMSC.MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP</value>
</property>
</bean>
<bean id="queueConnectionFactory" class="com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueConnectionFactory">
<property name="transportType" ref="MQJMS_TP_CLIENT_MQ_TCPIP" />
<property name="queueManager" value="${mq.queueManager}" />
<property name="hostName" value="${mq.host}" />
<property name="port" value="${mq.port}" />
<property name="channel" value="${mq.channel}" />
</bean>
<bean id="publishInvoiceQ" class="com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueue">
<constructor-arg value="${mq.queueName}" />
</bean>
3. Use the File System Context
The file system context is just like a JNDI context, but instead of using a url like iiop://host:port you have to specify a file system url. Because FSContext is just another JNDI context you can still use the spring configuration from option 1, but just change the relevant parameters.
In order to define you queues and queue connection factory using the File System Context, you need to download a swing application called JMS Admin. Get it here
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24004691&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
With regards your specific questions...
IIOP is just another communication protocol. If you want more details I'm sure typing "what is iiop" into google will provide plenty of hits.
I'll do my best to answer the remain two tomorrow - I wrote an application a few months ago which used the File System Context, but don't have the details to hand. -

I have just updated my MBP to Mountain Lion. Going to give Safari a bash as I liked the look of some of the new features, for one the Share Button.
However, when I try to share something by email it opens Chrome and shares it using a Gmail account I use for work stuff that I don't remember specifying on any of my Apple devices so have no idea why it has defaulted to using this one. I use an @me.com account for the mac mail client and want to share emails using this.
Any ideas how can configure the new Share Button on Mountain Lion to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
ChrisHi you all,
I´ve been trying to acomplish the opposite without success. I just updated from snow leopard to mountain lion. I only use web based gmail since I find it more usefull. I used to have a small program called gmail notification on SL that among other things poped out a small safari page to send an email every time I choosed to email something from the options on an item. In other words it used web based gmail to send attachments. eg. I would select a word document, hit sec button, select send email... and a safari web page with my attachment on it apeared that would let me include address and text to it.
Gmail notification does not work on ML. I tried to download it without success. I´d love to have web based gmail open ready to write the email when I hit share button on ML but apple Mail app shows up every time I do this. If I select chrome as my email reader from options in Mail then chome would pop up but only on the default starting page.
Any ideas?
Thanks
