How to configure physical channel using DAQmx block(remote PXI6733)

I am trying to run the example in labview that use DAQmx. But I find I can't find the physical channel by browser or using DAQ assisstant. It reports "No supported device found". My PXI6733 is on a controller and communicate with host computer by TCP/IP. Could I use DAQmx in such environment? What I should do to find the physical channel?

Braver,
The NI 6733 is not yet support by NI-DAQmx. Thus, you will need to use Traditional NI-DAQ to program this device until this support is added. I would suggest that you examine the following Traditional NI-DAQ examples:
Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> Traditional DAQ >> Analog Output
Good luck with your application.

  • How to create multiple physical channels using DAQmx?

    Hi, I am new to Labview.
    Can anyone please help me on how to create multiple physical channels? I am following the LabVIEW examples in the NI example finder but they are only for acquiring signals from one channel.
    Actually, I am using the channels of an SCXI 1520 to measure voltage signals. And one more thing, in the NI Example Finder, they are sample codes there for setting the filter in SCXI 114x.
    Will this example work with an SCXI 1520, too?
    Thanks!

    There are many ways to read multiple channels in LabVIEW. First, if you look at that example that lets you set the filter setting on the 114x and you click on the 'Physical Channel Listbox' then click 'Browse' you can see that you can select multiple channels. After you select the channels and hit 'Ok' it will build a multiple channel string. This is one way to read multiple channels.
    Next, you can create a 'Task' in Measurement and Automation Explorer(MAX). When you create this task select all the channels that you need to read then back in LabVIEW simply select a 'DAQmx Task Name Constant' Select the task you just created and wire that to an Input of your first DAQ VI. If you do this you do not need to have a 'DAQmx Create Physical Channel' VI or create
    Task because it is already created in MAX.
    When looking at example VIs you can tell if a multi-channel read is acceptable by looking at the 'DAQmx Read' and if it says NChan that means it will do a multichannel read. There are tons of example programs that will display the multichannel read capabilities.
    This example may not work for the 1520 because the properties that are set could possibly be specific to the 142x. When using the 1520 though it is very likely that the properties will be very similar if not exact. You will simply put a DAQmx Channel property node on your block diagram and then look for the Lowpass filter settings properties that will most likely be in the same location. Now another way todo this without using a property node would be in MAX when you create a task set the filter settings from the Device tab in the task configure window.
    Let me know if you need anymore help with reguards to this issue! Have a great day!

  • I would like to configure physical channel in the following VI

    i would like to configure Physical channel in the fillowing Vi. when i set 0 as physical channel input i get error 200170(physical channel specified does not exist on thi device. I am using board AT-MIO-16XE-50 for signal generation. if i use other conventional DAQ Ao config, there i can set channel 0 as input. why not here? please explain? i attached my VI. thanks

    The AT-MIO-16XE-50 is not supported with DAQmx. (The PCI version of the card is, but not the AT version.) The AT card is supported with Traditional DAQ however. This is why you got the error using the DAQmx VIs but not with the traditional daq VIs.

  • How to configure Firefox to use OpenVPN?

    summary: I'm running OpenVPN from a Debian client through a Debian jumpbox/server. After I [start the server, start the client] most IP-based applications (DNS, ping, ssh) seem to work from the client, but client's Firefox cannot connect to http://www.whatismyip.com/ (or any other URI). How to configure Firefox to use the VPN? or otherwise fix the problem? or further debug it?
    details:
    I have a laptop running debian_version==jessie/sid with Firefox version=33.0 which needs to access a compute cluster. The cluster formerly required only an SSL VPN (enabled by a Firefox plugin) to access, but now has several additional requirements, which I seek to satisfy by running the SSL VPN through a jumpbox running an OpenVPN server. The jumpbox is running a "vanilla" Debian 7.7.
    I have been using the laptop successfully for a few years without network problems. Currently I have the laptop connected by wire directly to an ISP-supplied modem/router. With `openvpn` NOT running on the laptop, I see:
    * `ifconfig` shows no entry='tun0' (just "the usual" entries for 'eth0', 'lo', 'wlan0'), and shows the expected client IP# bound to 'eth0'.
    * I can `ping` my jumpbox/server using its real IP#, but cannot `ping 10.8.0.1`
    * I can `ssh` to my jumpbox/server using its real IP#, but cannot `ssh 10.8.0.1`
    * `nslookup www.whatismyip.com` gives correct results
    * browsing to http://www.whatismyip.com/ shows my client's IP# (as also shown in `ifconfig`)
    Both my client/laptop and server/jumpbox setups are quite generic OpenVPN-wise, and are almost exactly as described on the Debian wiki

    I then see the following on my client:
    * `ifconfig` shows a new entry=`tun0`, which looks correct
    * I can `ping` the server using either its real IP# or `10.8.0.1`
    * I can `ssh` to the server using either its real IP# or `10.8.0.1`
    * `nslookup www.whatismyip.com` gives correct results
    ... but I get no connection if I open a new instance of Firefox and browse to http://www.whatismyip.com/ :-( "Looking up www.whatismyip.com..." succeeds quickly but the status line continues to display "Connecting to www.whatismyip.com..." until the attempt times out. I also get the same behavior (connection timeout) if I open a new instance of Chrome, or if I browse to http://www.whatismyip.com/ with a Firefox opened prior to starting OpenVPN. FWIW I get the same behavior browsing to any URI, including (e.g.) Google.
    This is a major problem for me! For the SSL VPN to work, I need to start a Firefox and run it (since the SSL VPN's vendor only supports it on Linux via a Firefox plugin) to access a particular remote-access website. Furthermore I need the SSL VPN to run through the jumpbox/OpenVPN. (Don't ask, it's a long, sad story ...)
    Is there something I must do to configure Firefox to use the VPN? Or is there some other way to fix this?
    Alternatively, what should I do to further debug the problem? It just seems odd to me that the other services work (e.g., `nslookup`, `ssh`) but Firefox does not. That being said, both Firefox and Chrome fail in this usecase, so the problem might be generic to web browsers.
    your assistance is appreciated, Tom Roche <[email protected]>

    You're kidding. You have to go through that rigamarole just to put your bookmarks on your own server? Where's the simple FTP option?
    Also, the above-linked article has a broken link. The link to the weaveserver (which is what you have to set up on your own server) is no good, and there is no obvious replacement. There are plenty of Weave-related repositories here:
    http://hg.mozilla.org/labs
    but it's not clear what you need.

    pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver maysaslserver saslswitchchannel tcp_auth loopcheck \

  • How to configure sendmail to use multiple LDAP servers ?

    Hi everybody!
    I have a sendmail running on Solaris 10 and a LDAP server(192.168.1.9) also running Solaris 10 OS. I have configured the sendmail the following way:
    bash-3.00# ldapclient list
    NS_LDAP_FILE_VERSION= 2.0
    NS_LDAP_BINDDN= cn=proxyagent,ou=profile,dc=email,dc=reso,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD= {NS1}*********************
    NS_LDAP_SERVERS= 192.168.1.9
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_BASEDN= dc=email,dc=domain,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_AUTH= simple
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_REF= FALSE
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_SCOPE= sub
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_TIME= 30
    NS_LDAP_CACHETTL= 43200
    NS_LDAP_PROFILE= default
    NS_LDAP_CREDENTIAL_LEVEL= proxy
    NS_LDAP_BIND_TIME= 10
    I also have another LDAP server (IP 192.168.1.10). It is configured as a replicant of the 192.168.1.9 LDAP server.
    The question is how can i configure sendmail to use both LDAP servers ?
    The man pages explain how to configure ldapclient to use ONE server and what if want to use two or more? All the settings and the profiles the same.
    Thanks in advance =))

    Hi!
    To add LDAP servers to the Solaris ldapclient, you might use the ldapclient command:
    ldapclient manual -v -a defaultServerList="servera.yourdomain.com serverb.yourdomain.com"
    But this is only failover, AFAIK the Solaris ldapclient does not perform loadbalancing by itself.
    But I am not sure about your sendmail programm. Normally, sendmail has its own configuration
    and can be configured to use LDAP e.g. for aliases etc.

  • How to configure sap to use gmail as smtp server?

    Hi experts,
    I need to know how to configure gmail as my smtp server. In the scot transaction I don't see anywhere where to specify whether it is a ssh connection, ports for secure smtp, username, password.
    Does anyone know how to configure sap to use gmail as the smtp server?
    I've seen some similar threads about this, but they are of no help. Although they are classified as answered, in most cases the reason they are answered is because the person who made the query dropped the cause trying to make it work. I'd like to know for sure is this is possible or not.

    Hi Camilo,
    You can't set up gmail as your smtp server to handle this. gmail is an email server which generally are based on POP protocol. now for SAP to send mail to gmail, you would need one SMTP capable server which can relay those message received from SAP to configured email address.
    As of WAS 6.10 SAP kernel supports SMTP without more components. i.e e-mails can be sent (or received) from the SAP system to each SMTP-compatible mail server. see SAP note 455140 for more details.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.

  • How do I get a list of configured channel using DAQmx

    I would like to know how to read the channels in a task list or the global channels that are setup in MAX. I use to be able to do it in DAQ using the read channel VI. I can't find any equivalent in DAQmx. My new system works only with DAQmx. My program allows the operator to select from the channels configured in MAX.

    Hi Benegin,
    This can be found under the DAQmx System property node. I have attatched a picture to help you find it.

  • How can I get properties of global virtual channels using DAQmx?

    I'm using DAQmx with VB6. In my app, I would like to be able to present the user with a list of available predefined channels to select from. I can use DAQmxGetSysGlobalChans to get a list of the channels, but I need a way to sort out which of these channels are defined as inputs, and which are outputs. It would also be nice to be able to query other properties of the virtual channel (for example, the device and physical channel being used). These all seem very simple things, but I haven't found anything like this in the documentation so far.
    Thanks.

    Try using  DAQmxGetChanType(TaskHandle taskHandle, const char channel[ ], int32 *data)DAQmxGetChanType(TaskHandle taskHandle, const char channel[ ], int32 *data).  This will return one of the following types:
    DAQmx_Val_AI
    10100

    DAQmx_Val_AO
    10102

    DAQmx_Val_DI

    There really isn't a great way to do this. I've attached a zip file with a couple of VIs that might give you a an idea or two about how you might want to go about it. Hope one of these helps!

    how can I make ether channel always use both ports when sending/transmitting packets? I remember it is possible.

  • Displaying multiple analog input channels using DAQmx READ commands.

    I am using a NI USB-6009 module in a hydraulic load test stand.  I want to read multiple analog voltage inputs and display them on my front panel.  Using DAQmx commands or DAQ assistant, LabVIEW will only let you have one READ command for the analog inputs.  Can someone point me to an example or give me some ideas on being able to display at least 3 analog inputs?  Thanks.

    With the DAQ Assistant, when you get a list of 'Supported Physical Channels', look at the bottom of the window. It says "<Ctrl> or <Shift> click to select multiple channels. When you use the DAQmx Create Channel and have a physcial channel control/constant, click the little arrow on the right side of the control/constant, select browse and use the same <Ctrl> or <Shift> click technique. If you want to enter the channels manually, the format is Dev1/ai0:2 for consecutive or Dev1/ai0,Dev1ai3 non-consecutive channels.

  • How to configure memory snapshots used in /HMUSA?

    Dear experts,
    Does anybody know how to configure memory snapshots? I want to call the /HMUSA and have a look at the snapshot using the Memory Inspector. But I would like to get a itemized list of the memory used, for example for the TTAB buffer I would like to know which process or transaction has used certain amount of memory in this buffer. Thanks in advance.
    PS: I am using a system for test purpose and I am the only one using this system (it's not a system used in a real company, and I have an administrator account).

  • How can I quickly sample data from 200 channels using DAQmx?

    Hello,
    I am trying to sample thermocouple data using a SCXI 1000 chassis with two SCXI 1100 modules and one SCXI 1102B, all of which have a 1300 isothermal terminal block. The computer I am using has a PCI-6052E DAQ card and 1 GB of RAM. I will eventually need to upgrade to a SCXI 1001 chassis with enough modules to collect about 175-200 different signals. The problem is I am testing with just the 96 channels I have available and the program runs super slow, with the maximum sample rate only .026 Hz. Currently I have all the channels being read by one DAQmx VI. I've looked through the example programs and tutorials, but nothing there deals with large numbers of channels. Is there a way to improve the sample rate to around 1 Hz with so many channels?
    Thanks in advance

    Check the filter configuration for your SCXI-1100.  The product page says that if you set the filter for 4Hz, you'll only get 3 Samples/second.  The slowest module in the chassis determines the sample rate.  If one of your modules is configured that way, you'll get a maximum rate of approximately 3 hz / 96 channels = 0.031 hz/channel, which is pretty close to what you've reported.  The filter is set by a jumper on the module, see the manual under "filter selection."
    You might want to look at "Determining Maximum Scan Rate for Multiple SCXI Modules" as well.
