How to configure Remote Access to APE HDD

I know this may seem like a newbie question to ask, but I'm trying to figure out how to remotely access the Hard drive that is on my APE network. I just need to know what I need to configure on the airport so that I can get it all to work. I'm fairly sure that I've got a static IP from my isp, but am working on verifying that just to be sure. Any help is welcome, thanks!

So what this guy is saying makes sense, except when I try to do the Port forwarding the airport tells me that I can't use port 548 unless I disable file sharing which is what I use anyway.
I took another look at the instructions on that Web page. Evidently that person had another router that was creating his LAN and had a Time Capsule connected to that router. If your AirPort Extreme is your "main" router, you shouldn't need to forward any ports, as the AEBS is the end destination of your disk access communications.
Be sure that in the File Sharing tab of AirPort Utility's Disks panel you've checked "Share disks over WAN".

    I need to fetch 3 columns data (product code/ serial numer and serial status) from MS-Access 2010 and store it on oracle 11g, for that I have wrote a web service code and I need to make it automation. I don't have any IDEA, how to make this web serevice as automation (automation means, when ever new record stored in MS-Access data I need to fetch newly created record from MS-Access 2010 and send it to Oracle 11g)
    Note: MS- Access 2010 present at vision system and Oracle 11g installed in linux server.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I am also facing the same issue, not sure about what url to use. And also the login webservice doesn't work while I am testing using http://localhost:81/RTC/RTCService.asmx. It always throwing the following error
    " Unable to cast COM object of type 'RTCLib.RTCClientClass' to interface type 'RTCLib.IRTCClient'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{07829E45-9A34-408E-A011-BDDF13487CD1}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."
    Is the current owc_lcs.zip support MS Office Communication Server 2007?
    Please share the configuration step if anyone already integrated OCS 2007.
    Thanks,

  • I have configure remote access feature web application proxy but not configure give the error. The remote name could not be resolved.

    I have configure remote access feature web application proxy but not configure give the error. The remote name could not be resolved in server 2012 R2.
    I have configure Ad and ADFS different server and try to configure web application proxy different server. what setting are required for connect web application proxy to Ad and ADFS.

    Hi,
    In addition, please make sure that the port 443 is not blocked by the firewall.
    Web Application Proxy requires internal name resolution to resolve the names of backend servers, and AD FS servers. When publishing web applications via Web Application Proxy, every web application you publish requires an external URL. For clients to reach
    these web applications, a public DNS server must be able to resolve each external URL that you configure. Note that the external URL must resolve to the same IP address as the Web Application Proxy server, or the external IP address of a firewall or load-balancer
    placed in front of the Web Application Proxy server.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • How do I configure "remote access request"?

    Hi there,
    I am missing the option in ARD to send a remote access request to a client each time an admin wants to take control of his computer. Is it possible to configure that and does someone know how? I searched a while but didn't find anything...
    Thanks for any help.

    I just found out, that it might be possible doing the following:
    Select an already to a list added client computer in this list, show "Information" (right click) and click on "Edit" in the attributes-Tab (called "Attribute" in the German localised Software). There you can delete the account information (user and password) you have entered adding it to the list. With this done, any further connection to the client reveals a dialog asking you if you want to ask for the permission.
    Maybe there's an easier way? But this works for me so far.

  • How do I remotely access a friend's Windows XP desktop using my ibook?

    I hope I am posting this question in the right forum/thread:
    I am not quite a newbie on the Mac, however when it comes to issues such as remote access, virtual private networks, etc., I am pretty much lost. I've even poured over the posts here to see if they answer any of my questions, but confusion is setting in, so I thought I'd just put my question out there to see if anyone can give me a simple answer:
    I have a friend who keeps having trouble with anything and everything to do with her Windows XP computer, from passwords to router/modem configurations. When she calls, I need to stop everything I'm doing and drive to her house to try to resolve her issue. It would save me (and her) a lot of energy and heartache if I could merely remotely access her computer (she has windows xp home edition) to help her out.
    What is the best way to remotely access her PC from my MAC?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Microsoft provides a Remote Desktop Client for Mac OS X. Check it out here - http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/ misc/rdcupdate103.xml&secid=80&ssid=10&flgnosysreq=True
    For actual connection, I have not tried this, but if you get her public IP, you should be able to connect to her PC.

  • How to Configure Remote Connections To SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

    Post written June 10, 2010 and pertains to:
    SQL Server 2008 R2 Express on both my server and local machines: SQLX_SRV,
    SQLX_LOC
    SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Studio on both my server and local machines:
    MS_SRV, MS_LOC
    Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise installed on a Hyper-V VPS: WS
    SQL Server Configuration Manager on both my server and local machines:
    CMGR_SRV, CMGR_LOC
    Server Manager: SMGR
    I am connecting to my hosting server via Remote Desktop Connection: RDC
    I installed SQLX_SRV and MS_SRV on my hosting server and SQLX_LOC and MS_LOC on my local development machine.  I am able to use MS_LOC to connect to SQLX_LOC and to use MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV.  However I am not able to use MS_LOC to connect
    with SQLX_SRV.  Here's what I have done so far:
    SMGR -> Configuration -> Windows Firewall to turn off the Windows Firewall for Domain, Private and Public profiles.  Obviously I'll change this later, but until I can connect I want to remove as many variables as possible.
    CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Services to confirm that both SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) and SQL Server Browser services were running.
    CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Network Configuration -> Protocols for SQLEXPRESS to ENABLE the Shared Memory, Named Pipes, and TCP/IP protocols and DISABLE the deprecated VIA protocol.
    CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Network Configuration -> Protocols for SQLEXPRESS -> double click TCP/IP to open the TCP/IP properties dialogue.  On the Protocol tab Enabled: Yes, Keep Alive: 30000, changed Listen All to No.  I've tried it both
    ways, but I've got six IP addresses on my server and I wanted to configure SQLEXPRESS to listen to only the first and primary IP.  On the IP Addresses tab went to IPALL and cleared the TCP Dynamic Ports field and entered 1433 in the TCP Port field.
    For my first and primary IP Address I made sure that Enabled was Yes, I cleared the TCP Dynamic Ports field, and entered 1433 in the TCP Port field.  For all other IP Addresses Enabled was set to No and I cleared both the TCP Dynamic Ports and TCP Port
    fields.
    CMGR_SRV -> SQL Server Services -> SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) right click and Restart.  This of course stopped and restarted my instance of SQLX_SRV enabling the TCP/IP configuration in the previous step to take effect.
    On my server, SQLX_SRV is the only instance of SQL Server running and so it's easy to hard wire it to the default port 1433.
    The instance name for both SQLX_SRV and SQLX_LOC is the default "SQLEXPRESS".  My server machine name is "SERVER1" on the EnglishBrains.com domain.  So the proper local name (local within the context of my remote server as connected via RDC) for
    my instance of SQLX_SRV would be:
    SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS
    Note the use of a backslash NOT a forward slash.
    Of course to connect remotely from my development machine, which is not on the same domain as my hosting server, I would need to specify the domain as well, so the SQL Server name becomes:
    SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS
    I must also use SQL Server Authentication.  Before I can use such a remote connection, however, there are still several configuration steps required.  So on my server (connected via RDC) I used MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV using SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS
    for the server name and Windows Authentication.  Once connected I performed the following steps:
    MS_SRV -> right click the connected parent SERVER1\SQLEXPRESS instance node at the top -> Properties -> Security -> Server authentication: select "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode".  This will enable connections using either type
    of authentication.
    Next, leaving the Server Properties dialogue open, Connections -> check "Allow remote connections to this server" box.
    Click OK to save these changes and close the Server Properties dialogue.
    MS_SRV -> Security -> right click Logins and select "New Login...", the Login - New dialogue opens.
    On the General page Enter a name for your new login
    Select SQL Server Authorization
    Enter and confirm a password
    Uncheck Enforce password expiration
    Select the default Database and Language
    On the ServerRoles page Public will be checked, also check SysAdmin.  This is probably not a good idea and I'll uncheck this as soon as I can connect to the SQLX_SRV.
    On the User Mapping page select the databases you want your new Login to access and enter the Default Schema of "dbo".
    At the bottom of the User Mapping page you'll see the Database Roles table.  Public will be selected by default.  Also select db_Owner.  Again this is probably not a good idea, and I'll refine this once I can connect.
    On the Status page confirm that "Grant" is checked under "Permission to connect to database engine" and "Enable" is checked under "Login".
    Click OK to save all changes and close the Login - New dialogue.
    With these steps completed you should now be able to use MS_SRV to connect to SQLX_SRV using SQL Server Authentication by supplying the name and password for your new Login.  I tried this and it worked fine.  Next I tried to use this same login
    remotely, that is I went to my local development machine and used MS_LOC to try and connect to SQLX_SRV by using
    SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS
    and opting for SQL Server Authentication and supplying the name and password of my new login.
    THIS DID NOT WORK??  Instead I get the following error message:
    Cannot connect to SERVER1.EnglishBrains.com\SQLEXPRESS.
    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:
    SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)
    For help, click:
    http://www.microsoft.com/products/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=-1
    If you follow the suggested help link, you are told:
    The SQL Server client cannot connect to the server.  This error could be caused by one of the following reasons:
    A specified SQL Server instance name is not valid.
    The TCP, or named pipes protocols are not enabled.
    The firewall on the server has refused the connection.
    The SQL Server Browser service (sqlbrowser) is not started.
    WRONG on all 4 counts!  The instance name IS valid.  Both TCP/IP and Named Pipes protocols are enabled.  The firewall has been shut down, so it is not relevant.  Finally the SQL Server Browser IS started.
    The next thing I tried was to circumvent discovery by the SQL Browser service by using the following syntax to specify the IP address and port directly when specifying the SQL Server name.
    tcp:68.71.134.186,1433
    Using this in the Server Name field I was able to use MS_SRV to successfully connect to SQLX_SRV (using SQL Server Authentication of course) with or without the SQL Browser service running.
    However when I tried to connect from MS_LOC to SQLX_SRV using this same login (WITH SQL Browser service running just for good measure) it does not work??  I get the following error message:
    Cannot connect to tcp:68.71.134.186,1433.
    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:
    TCP Provider, error: 0 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10060)
    For help, click:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=10060&LinkId=20476
    If you follow the help link you are told:
    "The SQL Server client cannot connect to the server. This error could occur because either the firewall on the server has refused the connection or the server is not configured to accept remote connections."
    However, the firewall has been shut down and the server HAS been configured to accept remote connections!
    I confirmed that i could indeed Ping to 68.71.134.186  and running NetStat -a |find /i "listening" on the server shows that the server is indeed listening at 68.71.134.186 Port 1433 -- which is why I was able to connect to SQLX_SRV using MS_SRV with
    tcp:68.71.134.186,1433 .
    IN SUMMARY: Even though I can connect to my SQLEXPRESS instance multiple ways from the server itself, I cannot connect remotely from my development machine!
    If anyone can help me figure out why I would be very, very grateful!

    My two cents to help you out on c# code example to configure the remote sql server express.
    Hope it helps. It works, but you have to be extra carefull to read it all and setup the server configuration and netsh commands; also the port fowarding on the router.
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Data.SqlClient;
    namespace sqlremoteconnection
    class Program
    static void Main(string[] args)
    // this is the local sql server connection
    // 192.168.1.101\SQLEXPRESS
    // now, the configuration for remote access:
    // activate SQL SERVER BROWSER - set it to start "automatic"; then START UP
    // SQL Server Configuration Manager
    // --> SQL SERVER BROWSER -> properties -> Service -> Start Mode -> automatic -> apply
    // --> Log On -> Start -> Ok
                // netsh firewall set portopening protocol = TCP port = 1433 name = SQLPort mode = ENABLE scope = all profile = CURRENT
                // netsh firewall set portopening protocol = UDP port = 1434 name = SQLPort mode = ENABLE scope = all profile = CURRENT
                // netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name = SQLPort dir = in protocol = tcp action = allow localport = 1433 remoteip = any profile = PUBLIC
                // netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name = SQLPort dir = in protocol = udp action = allow localport = 1434 remoteip = any profile = PUBLIC
    // VERY IMPORTANT FOR REMOTE ACCESS: you have to add the rules on port fowarding
    // on the router!!!
    // TCP: 1433
    // UDP: 1434
    // or just a personal port like TCP 31433/UDP 31434

  • How can I remotely access my computer from a different location on Apple Remote Desktop?

    I downloaded Apple Remote Desktop and am trying to access our computer at our church that is in the auditorium and work on slides for ProPresenter from my office which is on a different network. The Mac Pro, which is in the auditorium, is connected to a Netgear wireless router. I would also want to be able to have access to observe and control the screen on the Mac Pro whether I am in my office or at my house. I have tried everything from going to portforward.com, followed those instructions, did port forwarding, used ipchicken.com to get my external IP and made sure that the Mac Pro had a static internal IP address and made sure the computer had access for remote management. Any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated! Works fine when it is on the same wireless network, but I need access being on a different wireless network. Thanks!

    Hi austinmac14,
    So the steps listed bellow assume some things. They assume that the Airport Extreme Router your configuring is connected directly to the internet connection. And that the Airport Extreme is the only router between your computers and the internet.
    That means we're talking about say a DSL modem plugged directly into the Airport Extreme, or a cable modem. in ether case, this assumes that said modem, is not acting as an internet router.
    If your modem has multiple ethernet ports on it, or has a little antenna sticking out of it, then your modem is probable also a router, and these steps listed bellow will probable not work.
    Also these steps are so one person, can connect to one computer at your work.
    Open Airport Utility:
    go to the dock
    Click on the finder
    go to the menu bar
    Click on the "Go" menu
    Chose "Utilities" from the "Go" Menu
    double Click on "AirPort Utility"
    Access the Base Station:
    Double Click on your Airport Extreme BaseStation that is your internet connection router.
    a new window should pop up with your Airport Base Station as the Window Name
    Configure Static Address for the computer you want to connect to via ARD:
    Click on the internet Icon from the toolbar
    Click on the "DHCP" tab
    For "DHCP Reservations:"  Click on the "+" button
    For the "Description" put "ARD"
    For "Reserve Address by:"  set "DHCP Client ID"
    Click the "Continue" button
    For "DHCP Client ID:" set "ARD"
    write down the number in "IPv4" address field
    Click the "Done" Button
    Configure routing to ARD computer:
    Click on the "Advanced" icon from the tool bar.
    Click on the "Port Mapping" tab
    Click on the "+" button
    for "Service:" Chose "Apple Remote Desktop"
    for "Private IP Address:" copy the exact IP address you wrote down in step "3. 8)"
    Click the "Continue" button
    Click the "Done" button
    Click the "+" button
    For the pulldown menu "Service:" Chose "Remote Apple Events"
    for "Private IP Address:" copy the exact IP address you wrote down in step "3. 8."
    Click the "Continue" button
    Click the "Done" button
    Click the "+" button
    For the pulldown menu "Service:" Chose "Remote Login - SSH"
    for "Private IP Address:" copy the exact IP address you wrote down in step "3. 8."
    Click the "Continue" button
    Click the "Done" button
    Click the "Update" button.
    wait for the Airport Extreme to update, and for your computer to reconnect to the airport extreme. (make sure you can load and browse websites.)
    Configure the ARD computer to use the correct IP address:
    Go to the computer you want to be able to remotely connect to
    On that computer, Go to the menu bar
    Chose the "Apple" menu bar
    Chose "System Preferences…"
    Click on the "Show All" button
    Click on the "Network" icon
    For the active network connection, (the connection on the left side with the green dot), click on it
    Clock on the "Advanced…" button
    Click on the "TCP/IP" tab
    for the "DHCP Cient ID: field put "ARD".
    Click the "OK" button
    Click the "Apply" buttonNOTE: Under "Status" you should see "(connection name) is connected to (airport base station name) and has the IP address (IP address)." the "(IP address)" address displayed should match the IP address you wrote down in step "3. 8."
    Find out what your public internet IP address is.
    On the computer you wish to connect to over the internet, gotohttp://whatismyipaddress.com/
    when the web page loads, you should see "IP Information:" fallow by a number like 192.168.0.1, write down what ever number it is.
    At this point you should be able to connect to the computer remotely
    connect to the internet from another location.
    open Apple Remote Desktop
    go to the file menu
    chose connect to computer using ip address
    set the address to the address to the IP address you wrote down for step 6. 2.
    use the same password as you used to connect to the computer at work using ARD.
    So here the catch. If your router gets reset... well then your going to have to configure it again. Also all the same rules you have to connect to the computer at work, also apply to connecting to the computer from over the local network. That means your computer need to be on or sleeping. And if it's sleeping it need to be configure to wake for network access.
    Also some network connections change.  When it comes to internet connections, some connections are static IP, while other connections are DHCP. If your connection is static... great! if it's DHCP, your address may change. If it dose.. well then your ability to connect will break. And then you'd have to do step 6 & 7 again.
    Of corse there are ways around this. But that's kind of another conversation.
    Some internet locations may block your ability to connect to your computer at work. This is very common at schools, and companies. Basically any place that tries to control your ability to browse the internet, may block remote access to computers; because a remote computer would completely by pass their web filter.
    ALSO there is an easier option. As far as setup. There are programs designed to make remotely accessing your mac as easy as possible. For instance there is LogMeIn or Slack. With both of these programs, it's simple. make sure your computer is always on. Then install the software. Create an account with the service. And then you can connect to the computer almost any where by going to their website.
    This option requires no router configuration. It handles DHCP. It's designed to work in as many locations as possible.

  • How to configure the Access Server?

    Hi All
    I am in the process of migrating from 11.0.1 to 12.0.
    I have some real-time jobs.
    For this I need to configure the Access Server.
    I can understand I should do this from Server Manager>Edit Access Server Config>Add
    Here what info we need to give? Does it mean we need to give the server name on which current version is installed? How to choose the port?
    My old version DI 11.0.1 is using port 4000. Also in the DS Mgmt Console, I am defaultly getting the Old Job Server in the Adapter Config node. How to remove this?
    Someone plz help me on this.
    Thank You
    Ganesh Sampath

    You have to explicitly share directories on external/secondary volumes.
    Use the Server admin app to configure file sharing, and select which directory/directories on the second drive you want to share, then they'll be available to clients.

  • Looking for the steps to configure remote access to HD connected to airport Extreme via Surfboard modem

    I found an article that seemed a little dated outlining steps on how to access files on my exteral hard drive that is connected to my airport extreme.  I have enabled personal file sharing, specified the ports and put in the internal IP address. To test, I am connecting to VPN on my ipad, firing up a browser and trying to navigate to the external IP address and port number specified (xxx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxx)  I keep getting a page cannot be displayed error. Any suggestions?

    Test from a real WAN connection.. not a loop around via vpn. as it is hard to know where the problem is.. is it the vpn or the port forwarding.
    Also it is hard to test from ipad as the only effective protocol to use is AFP on 548 and ipad is not able to do it.
    Read Tesserax info on remote access.

  • How do I Remotely Access Final Cut Server?

    I set up Final Cut Server on a Mac mini at work and uploaded some Final Cut Pro projects into it. Now I want to be able to log into the server from home "check out" the .fcp file, work on it and then check it back in again.
    I really don't know how to go about doing that though. What address should I be using to do this? Do I need to install anything on my remote computer first before trying to connect.
    Also, when I check out the .fcp file remotely will it also download all the proxy files, as well. This is my first time setting FCS up so I'm pretty clueless about this.
    Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    We're doing the same thing at my company and it's working really well. We're a small post production house and our editors like the flexibility of logging on to the server from their homes and checking out the projects and the media, without needing to come into the office. Great for companies that want to engage in green practices, or cut down on commute times, if you need any good points to bring to your staff. Here's how we do it:
    1.) Enable VPN access for our editors.
    2.) Create compressor settings for our edit proxies that are h264 and small enough to travel over the web, or smaller internet connections.
    3.) Editor logs in over VPN and downloads the FCS Java Client.
    4.) Editor checks out project and allows the edit proxies to cache overnight.
    5.) We use a lot of Apple's out the box Review and Approval options, and with a little configuration, they work great.
    6.) When the editor is done with the project, they check in the lower rez versions and it "auto-magically" connects to the uprez media.
    We color correct in-house, and it's just nice to have the added flexibility to send the time intensive offline out of house.

  • Best network configuration remote access TC

    Hi Everyone. Switched over to MAC this year (March) from windows, and so Far really loving it. Any problems i have had, have been solved mostly by reading through this and related mac forums - so thanks to everyone for all the help! The info here is so much more relevant than what you get from the limited and dissapointing Apple tech support.
    However, this is my first post, and relates to a network issue i now have with my time capsule. firstly i will explain the problem and what i want to achieve, then i will give a brief rundown on involved hardware...
    i am a british guy living in slovakia as this is where my business is. I have 1 internet connection in my appartment provided by T com (quite slow) and i have just had a second installed provided by RadioLan. I would like to use one connection to down load during the evening when i am at home, so i can use the other connection to surf the web without suffering bandwidth / speed issues, then switch my downloading host to the other, faster connection in the morning when i leave for work, so the fast connection can be utilised all day while i am at work. I would like to do this without hot swapping wires, and prefferebly allow all networked devices to "communicate" with each other.
    The Tcom connection is a combo ADSL modem router PPoE config with dynamic assigned IP, the Radiolan connection comes through a WISP device (i think this is also behaving similar to modem / router config, which i will explain in a minute) and the ISP provides a fixed IP address.
    Now, I can access the tcom router control panel and make changes, np. but i cannot access the radiolan device as this is prohibitied by the ISP. during the initial setup of the the radiolan WISP connection, there was also installed a small 2 port switch / router that i removed because it was the only device on the network that was 54Mbp instead of 10/1000. in its place i put a new router.
    my two biggest problems are this: i cannot access TC remotely. when i setup TC as the main router on the radiolan connection, i either get a double NAT error, or if i disable NAT in TC (bridge mode) it tells me that i require a router with NAT! So i enable TC NAT, and then i get double NAT error! this is what makes me believe that the radionlan connection WISP device that is bolted to external wall and i have no access to is also functioning as a router and not just a modem. I contacted radionlan, and the best they could do for me was forward all ports to an internal LAN side IP address (10.10.10.9).
    here is a list of my equipment, and how i would like to configure it
    Ubiqiti nano statin 5 WISP device on outside wall, connected by ethernet (cat5e, as are all my cables) to
    TC configured to share the public IP. from TC by ethernet i connect to
    windows xp machine used for downloading and file sharing. this machine also connects via wifi to other connection (Tcom)
    Apple TV in bedroom
    Draytek vigor vgst adslmodem router hosting the TCOM connection and connecting to windows PC wirelessly.
    i also have a number of wireless clients like my iphone 3gs, macbook pro and girlfreind windows laptop that i want to connect to the radion lan. i would also like add a wireless access point in the living room to expand my wireless range.
    other equipment i have purchased and have at my disposal (as they are not currently used because i dont know which is best configuration!)
    belkin N+ wireless router
    airport express base station
    d link dir 825 dual band router
    54mbs 2 port switch
    D link 54mbs 4 port switch
    a tone of CAT5E cable.
    to recap, i really dont mind the config, but i would love to achieve all of the following:
    connect remotely to TC
    switch connections for downloading on xp PC while maintaining network connection for filesharing to all clients
    utilise the fastest interfaces available to me to streaming media is fluent
    create a 5GHZ N wireless connection and extend the range using a second routyer so i can also implement wireless b/g for less capable "guest" clients.
    Sorry for the long first post, but i am really stuck with this...
    Rob.

    Ps, thanks for any help!

  • How to configure simultanous access for 11i application

    Hi All
    We have one existing 11i application instance on node grid1.In which we start the servicess from apps user.
    In our same we want another node for the same application in which we will start the servicess from another user(merge)
    For that we perfrom the following steps
    1.Copy the APPL_TOP,COMMON_TOP,ORA_TOP(8.0.6,iAS) from node "GRID1" to diffrent node "GRID2"
    2 configure the GRID2 node using adcfgclone.pl utility(we have configure new node for WEB and FORM Server)
    3 We perfrom the modification in the following files ON GRID2 .
    i Identify 'FNDNAM=apps' statement in $FND_TOP/secure/<context>.dbc
    and replace with 'FNDNAME=merge' to connect to MERGE schema instaed of APPS.
    ii. Go to the last line of $APACHE_TOP/jserv/etc/zone.properties file
    and identify 'schema=APPS' statement and change it to 'schema=MERGE'
    iii. Identify below lines in $APACHE_TOP/modplsql/cfg/wdbsvr.app file
    password = apps
         username = apps
         document_table = APPS.fnd_lobs_document
    and replace with modified below lines
    password = merge
         username = merge
         document_table = MERGE.fnd_lobs_document
    6. For redirecting user's request to new Application Server server, we
    changed the following 4 system profile options with proper URL and port
    at responsibility level only for the responsibilities,
    which we use for Merge views.
    Profile Options
         Application Framework Agent
         Applications JSP Agent
         Applications Web Agent
         Apps Servlet Agent
    When we are able to start the services on GRID2 node,but at the time of login we are getting invalid user name/ passwd error
    Please let us know is there any way to access application other than apps user
    Regards
    Sohail

    well thank you very much .I know how to define a DataSource inside Weblogic Server.
    But i am confused over one issue
    When We are going to use Container Managed EntityManager inside the SessionBean the persistence.xml file looks like this
    *<persistence>*
    *     <persistence-unit name="RamsEJBPU" transaction-type="JTA">*
    *          <jta-data-source>myJtaDataSource</jta-data-source>*
    *     </persistence-unit>*
    *</persistence>*
    But in some cases it looks like as shown below :     <persistence-unit name="RamsEJBPU" transaction-type="resource-local">
         <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider>
                        <properties>
                   <property name = "hibernate.connection.driver_class" value = "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"/>
                   <property name = "hibernate.connection.url" value = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl"/>
                   <property name = "hibernate.connection.username" value = "CHENNAISPAT"/>
                   <property name = "hibernate.connection.password" value = "CHENNAISPAT"/>
                </properties>
         </persistence-unit>
    </persistence>Can you please tell me why is it so ??

  • How to configure firewall access for ASA 5510

    Hi,
    This is my first time to use the Cisco ASA 5500 family. I have a request from a user to create an access rule, to allow all LAN traffic to Destination IP address 165.241.29.17, 165.241.31.254 with Destination TCP port 5060,5061,5070 and UDP port 50000-52399.
    I want to do this using ASDM, How do I accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    Jojo

    Hey Jojo I use the ASDM to manage my ASA... so below should get you a general access rule to allow what you need.
    •1.      Log into your ASA using ASDM.. on the top tabs look for "Configuration"
    •2.      Once you click "Configuration", on the left side panel down at the bottom you should see "Firewall".  Make sure you’re in the "Firewall" menu and at the top you should be viewing "Access Rules".  You should see a list of access rules applied to your ASA.
    •3.      At the top you should see a green "+Add" to add a new access rule to your ASA.  Once clicked you should identify…
         •a.      Interface -  INSIDE or OUTSIDE
         •b.      Action - PERMIT or DENY
         •c.      Source - Subnet that needs to talk to destination address
         •d.      Destination - use the [...] box to create a Network Object for 165.241.29.17 and 165.241.31.254 use /32 mask for specific ip address and not a range
         •e.      Service - Again use the [...] box to create TCP and UDP Service Groups for the specific ports
    •4.     You can then enter a description of the specific access rule and enable logging.
    This should be it... let me know how this works out for you!!
