How to configure use of Ethernet and wireless simultaneously, with different Windows´s?

My network has two Win XP-laptops connected via ethernet to a Dovado-router, and from the Dovado-router another ethernet cable to a Win 7 PC.
The Win 7 PC connects to the internet via a D-Link wireless network to my ISP wireless router Huawei E589.
Problem: the PC refuses to work with both ethernet and wireless at the same time.
I use the ethernet for tranferring vast amounts of graphical data (astronomy photographs at 3-4 GB each), and I can only access the internet through the wireless. Neither XP nor 7 wizards are able to fix it. Both networks were visable in Network Center,
now only the wireless is available. Ethernet is gone.
What do I do, to make it work?

What's your purpose? My understanding is that you want Windows 7 PC wireless use internet and wired use Lan. If I am misunderstand please point me fault.
For the situation you can do like this:
1) Setting for your both routers.
Make sure both routers have different Router IP's and SUBNETS, you should try to set the subnet of Dovado-router to 255.255.255.252(this router should be used as local Lan, not connect to internet).
Set the subnet of D-link to 255.255.255.0
2) Setting For the LAN adapter.
Under the TCP/IP properties(Lan adapter), please assign a unique IP address (which coincides with the subnet of Dovado-router ), set the subnet to 255.255.255.252 (or whatever you set it to Dovado-router). The very important things is that
don't assign any GATEWAY to Lan adapter, leave it blank.
3) Setting For the WIRELESS adapter.
Under TCP/IP properties(wireless adapter), please assign a unique IP address (that coincides with the wireless router), set the subnet to 255.255.255.0 (or whatever the default is for the wireless router), and make sure to type gateway IP address ( D-link
IP address).
Now you can test if they are work normally.

I would like to change the network so that I use both the wireless connection and the built-in ethernet connection at the same time in my Mac mini1. The question: What addresses should I use between mini1 and PC? What should I put in ethernet connection "Router"-field, the same as in Airport (192.168.1.1)? What about DNS, same as in Airport?

If I understand this correctly, you wish your Mini to perform Internet Sharing for your PC, correct!?
If so you'll pretty much have to let the Mini handle DHCP & NAT on the Ethernet port. You also want to be sure Airport is dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations, that's what position the Mini will use 1st for Internet itself.
On the Mini turn on both Web Sharing & Internet Sharing. The PC once connected will have the Mini's Ethernet IP as it's Gateway addy.

How do I use a Verizon PC Wireless card with my iMAC Intel Core desktop?

Help! Bought a Kyocera KPC650 Wireless PC Card for Verizon wireless internet. Works fine w/ laptop because it has a slot. How do I configure my iMAC desktop to accept this card? Is there an external USB adapter? Or do I have to get one installed internally? Which adapter works with OX 10.4?
I've seen the Quatech U132 online. Will that work? Its $192!! As is the Sewell adapter too. ($209)
Any ideas? I want to get off SBCYahoo DSL and their router because our DSL line is damaged in our complex and no one is fixing it!

What protocol is Verizon using that is not compatible with the Airport Extreme built into your iMac? I have used Apple's Airport Extreme with a lot of different wireless routers with zero problems as all conform to either 802.11b or 802.11g standard both of which are supported by the built in Airport Extreme.

Why can't the 6700 support both ethernet and wireless simultaneously?

Any consumer product support either Ethernet or Wireless connection, the connections cannot be used simultanly..
However connecting the pritner to your network (either by Ethernet or Wireless) will allow installing the printer on ANY pc connected to the same network, either by Wireless opr Ethernet connection..
Once the printer connected to your network, simply install the CD on any of your computers...

How Can I use 2 Macs and a PC with two monitors

This is for my office at work.
I currently am using dual monitors and sharing those between a G4 and a PC. I'm using a Belkin switch box for the two computers. I'm adding a Mac Pro. I'm thinking I might use the Mac Pro by itself at another workstation but I would like to use it at my current workstation along with my other machines.
I'm getting a new 23" monitor with the Mac Pro. I want to use it as my main monitor, then use one of my other monitors as a second screen. Is it possible to use two monitors with 3 computers? I would have to use the new keyboard and mouse (both will be standard, not wireless) on both of the macs and use the PC keyboard and mouse.

I would use the new Mac Pro as the main workstation and attach your mouse, keyboard and your new monitor to it.
Then use the Belkin Switch Box to connect 1 monitor to the G4 and PC.
Download and configure 'Synergy' (http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/) on the new Mac Pro (as the primary) and the G4 and PC (as secondary) - This will allow you to deal with only one keyboard and mouse.
I'm with Malcolm, I would download and install VMware Fusion. VM the PC w/ Converter (http://www.vmware.com/products/converter/) and only deal with the new Mac Pro and G4. With the new Mac Pro, you can fire up the PC VM with 2 cores and have it set to a secondary space. You will not notice the difference.

How can you use one image and edit it three different ways to export later?

I am a new Lightroom 3 user. How can use the same image and edit it multiple ways to produce mulitple images to later export? For example, I have a picture of a bride and groom. I want to use that image and create a color image, a black and white image, and a close up of their hands.

Do I need to do either of those options before I start editing the image at all? For example, what if I am working on the image and doing some creative edits. Then I think of another option that I could do. Is it too late at that time or can I still get the original image to begin with?

Alternatively imagine something like the multrow menus of MSWord.
The main target of the customer is to save as much screen space as possible for displaying table/form data.

Yes, this is possible, actually, it is already used in JHeadstart. You will only see menu 2 at pages with detail groups.
Menu1 and menu2 are added to each page using the menu1 and menu2 facets. The menu selection is also determined by the page: it passes the selectedTab as a parameter to the ADF Faces region that displays the menu. So, by modiftying the templates that render the menu: pageMenu.vm, menu1.vm and menu2.vm, you can determine which menus get displayed on which page.

I am trying to print to this printer wirelessly while it is connected to an ethernet network. Is that possible? We want to be able to print company reports from the Point of Sales system (hence the ethernet) but we also want to be able to print documents and emails from our laptops (wirelessly).
One of us has a Dell laptop running Windows XP, the other has a MacBook Pro.

NDMP configuration using NAS 5210 and L8 Autoloader with EBS 7.2 software

Hi all,
We are trying to configure "NDMP".
We have connected the L8 Autoloader directly to the NAS 5210. Installed the SUN StorEdge EBS 7.2 with one ndmp client licence on blade 2500 system.
we are able to see the autoloader from NAS 5210 using "ndmp devices" command. But, when we are trying to backup using EBS software(scheduled backup) it says "no matching devices found; no storagenodes, no pools" and the backup is failing.
We also tried using the command line
"nsrndmp_save" it gives an error " could not open connecting on port 10000 on system name". I have increase the "connection port range" also.
I request if there is any similar setup with EBS 7.2 please respond.

Just removing and adding Networker packages again solved the problem.

How can i use apple tv and iTunes movies with component video cables for an older receiver and projector?

i have an older yamaha receiver and projector both without hdmi inputs but component video instead. I would like to get apple tv and start renting movies through iTunes but apple tv only supports hdmi and ive read that iTunes has codes to prevent the use ot analog cables with movies. Is there a way to adapt hdmi to component video for both apple tv and iTunes easily?

Yes, HDMI is the only supported method. Also, with converters you will run into issues with HDCP (which will prevent you from streaming DRM content from iTunes etc) as well as resolution.

Ergo, every time I update my site because I changed the template, my foreign langauge pages lose their language declarations.
You cannot make an editable region for this. When I tried, I got error messages.
Anyone know a good work around?

I have just tested this very quickly, but it seems to work.
Dreamweaver templates allow you to create editable attributes. You can't do it for the <html> tag through the Dreamweaver interface, but it seems to work without problem if you hand-code it in the template.
In the main template, change the <html> tag to look like this:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="@@(lang)@@" lang="@@(lang)@@">
Just before the closing </head> tag, add this:

Save the template.
All child pages will automatically be updated to have xml:lang="fr" lang="fr".
In pages that use a different language, go to Modify > Template Properties, and change the value of lang to en, or whatever language it uses.
An alternative approach is to keep your language pages in different folders, and then use Find and Replace on the whole folder to change the values in the <html> tag.

How Do I Network Multiple Base Stations Using Ethernet AND Wireless?

Hi, everyone. I am having great difficulty setting up a network using multiple Airport Extreme base stations that are connected using both ethernet and wireless connections. I have one main base station connected to a cable modem, and I want to create a unified network and share its internet connection with three other base stations: one that is connected on an ethernet network, one connected to it wirelessly, and the fourth that would be connected wirelessly to the base station on the ethernet network.
The "Designing Airport Networks" manual explains how to build roaming networks of base stations that are connected to one another via ethernet. And it also explains how to build a WDS of wirelessly connected base stations. What it doesn't explain is how to build a network employing both ethernet AND wireless!
I spent most of today trying to get the base stations to work in various configurations to no avail. I could get part of the network working, but not all of it. I'm at the point where I'm going to need to do a hard, factory reset on all the base stations and start over, but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for me. Any help would be incredibly appreciated! Thanks so much...

If you have stations connected via Ethernet and want them to appear as a single seamless wireless network, configure them as follows:
Same SSID (network name).
Different channels. As far apart as possible.
Same wireless encryption type/level/password.
Only the base station connected to the Internet source distributes IP addresses. All the others are configured as bridges.
If you have stations connected wirelessly using WDS and want them to appear as a single seamless wireless network, configure them as follows:
Same SSID (network name).
Same channel.
Same wireless encryption type/level/password.
It appears that you want to mix the 2 type of connections. This is easily done and here is a simple example:
base1 Ethernet base2
In this example base1 and base 2 are configured as I suggested above for Ethernet connections.
Now add base3 connected wirelessly:
base1 Ethernet base2 wireless base3
Now base2's configuration must be modified slightly so that it acts as a WDS main. base3 is configured to act as a WDS remote (or relay).
No changes are needed to base1 since it is completely unaware and uninvolved in the WDS link between base2 and base3.

My laptop's hard disk died. I got a new hard disk and did a fresh install. But I can't see the Ethernet and Wireless icons on the tray. I am assuming that I have to install those drivers. How do I go about that?

The easiest way is to download
1, Go to Lenovo's support site, find the driver matrix for your model of ThinkPad, download the Ethernet driver, and install it.
2. Then download and install ThinkVantage System Update.
3. Run TVSU and let it find and install all the drivers, utilities, etc. that you need.
You'll also want to do a Microsoft Update at the Microsoft site.
