  • How to view weblogic log files from a browser

    Hi,
I am running WebLogic Server 7.03 on Solaris 8.
I have one Admin and multiple Managed servers running.
Each creates its own log file.
Is there anyway I can access this log files from the browser ?
In Apache, you can create a link from htdocs dir to the logs dir
and then view the log files from the browser. Is there a similar
    mechanism in Weblogic server.
A quick response is well appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

If you are on a unix system you can do something similar by making an open
directory webapp with symbolic links to the weblogic log directories. I suggest
that you protect that webapp with administration access only.

  • How to create different log files for each of web applications deployed in OC4J

    Hi All,
I am using OC4J(from Oracle) v1.0.2.2 and Windows2000. Now I want to know
    1. how to create different log files for each of my deployed web applications ?
    2. what are the advantages in running multiple instances of oc4j and in what case we should run
    multiple instances of OC4J ?
    3. how to run OC4J as Windows2000 Service rather than Windows2000 Application ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Avi,
First of all I have given a first reading to log4j and I think there will some more easy way of logging debugging messages than log4j (If you could provide me a detailed explanation of a servlet, jsp, java bean that uses log4j and how to use log4j then it will be very helpful for me). The other easy ways (if I am not using log4j) to my problem i.e creating different log files for each of web applications deployed in oc4j are
I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

  • How to configure the .ini file with applet

    hai
i am using native methods in that methods they use some ip addresses. when i am using that native methods in applet run the applet using appletviewer tool it works fine but when i am open that applet using html page browser not configure that .ini file data .how to configure that .ini file with browser

    Hi Jay SenSharma,
    Thanks for your immediate response.
I saw your URL links, But in your link give the recursive deployment using wlst. But my question is how to configure the oracle weblogic library files into Admin server & Managed Servers by using the wls.jar file through wlst script to create the new domain.
But if create the new domain by using GUI mode then we manually give the admin server port number & managed servers port number and name.
By default the library files are configured with the Admin server in GUI mode. But the Managed server the Library files are not configured with the Managed servers. Then we manually select all the library files to the corresponding managed servers. Then only the applications are deployed into the corresponding managed server.

    2. In order to get rid of port number, either boot weblogic at default
port 80, or use Apache or Iplanet webserver, and use Weblogic plugin.
That way all the traffic comming in from http will comein at port 80
to the webserver, and would then be forwarded to Weblogic at whatever
    port it is booted.

  • How to delete archive log files from ASM through Grid Control

    Hi
Anybody suggest me how to delete archive log files from ASM through Grid Control.
    Thanks

It is important to specify both, the oracle version and os version when posting, so confusions can be avoided.
In this particular case, since you are referring to asm and grid control you could be talking about either 10gR1, 10gR2 or 11gR1; but I strongly suggest you to avoid us to be guessing. In either case, you sould go to the maintenance tab of the target database and program a scheduled 'delete noprompt obsolete;' procedure. This will purge the information stored at the Flash recovery area, which I assume you have declared inside the ASM.

  • How i can access log file in servlet?

How i can access log file in servlet then display it to browser.
Can i have peice of codes...
              Thanks in advance.!

This is not something that can be answered easily. There is quite alot of code involved....
To get started I suggest you read up on the built-in package 'DBMS_LOB' from Oracle . Most of what you need you should find there.
    regards Dave.

  • How open and see Log File in Active Directory

    Hello Friends..   ^-^
how i can open log files active directory and see this data files ?
    Can export this logs ?
    thanks for help.

And adds a definition of edbxxxxx.log for completeness:
These are auxiliary transaction logs used to store changes if the main Edb.log file
gets full before it can be flushed toNtds.dit.
The xxxxx stands for a sequential number in hex. When the Edb.log file
    fills up, an Edbtemp.log file
is opened. The original Edb.log file
is renamed to Edb00001.log, and Edbtemp.log is
    renamed to Edb.log file,
and the process starts over again. Excess log files are deleted after they have been committed. You may see more than one Edbxxxxx.log file
if a busy domain controller has many updates pending.

  • What's wrong with the weblogic.log file?

Currently we got a problem and don't know what it means -
our weblogic.log file grows very fast by generating huge amount of logs like:
    ####<Feb 18, 2003 10:29:13 AM CST> <Info> <DGCserver> <awhq7232.whq.ual.com> <ECSserver>
    <ExecuteThread: '13' for queue: 'default'> <> <> <000000> <Tried to renew lease
    on lost reference: '1160'>
I counted and found that weblogic.log adds in at least 50 such logs per minute
and its size imcreases about 20M per day. But the application still work normally.
Could you experts help us on the following questions:
    - Why WebLogic Container generates so many "Info" kind of logs?
    - Could we config the WebLogic Server to avoid such "Info" kind of logs being
    written into weblogic.log file?
    Thank you very much!
    Bill Yuan

It is harmless - it means that by the time server got to process lease
renewal message object is already gone.
You may want to check with support - I think there was a fix which supressed
    this message.
