How to configure Wireless 802.1x with WEP?
At home I use WPA without any problem.
I can not to connect in my university the wireless, the configure on local is :
802.1x
WEP
PEAP
Who can help me?
I have configured several MBPs to run on our corporate network which is 802.1x and I too cannot get a new MB Air to login to the 802.1x network. A team of us have tried and failed. The steps I follow are identical to those provided in the thread earlier.
The MB Air connects says it authenticating and eventually delivers an error after appearing to connect. The error is something like "error 1 port en0" if I recollect correctly. We believe we also discovered that the associated network certificates in the keychain are empty.
All of this occurred after after configuring a WEP home network connection as you mentioned, though I do not see how the two would be related.
Genius bar and 1-800 help all closed for the night.
Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks for your immediate response.
I saw your URL links, But in your link give the recursive deployment using wlst. But my question is how to configure the oracle weblogic library files into Admin server & Managed Servers by using the wls.jar file through wlst script to create the new domain.
But if create the new domain by using GUI mode then we manually give the admin server port number & managed servers port number and name.
By default the library files are configured with the Admin server in GUI mode. But the Managed server the Library files are not configured with the Managed servers. Then we manually select all the library files to the corresponding managed servers. Then only the applications are deployed into the corresponding managed server.

how to configure the wifi access with specific time slot for kids?
Which model of AirPort base station do you have? Which version of OS X is your MacBook Pro running?
Wi-Fi access can be limited using the Timed Access feature of the AirPort routers. You would do so using the AirPort Utility. -

My Telus wireless only works with WEP, but if I switch to WEP, the wireless on the other computers in the house (which is Windows and WPA) stops working. My computer works with the ethernet cord but I want to be wireless too! Do one of us have to sacrifice our wireless?
For assistance in getting your MacBook to connect to a WEP-protected wireless network, please check out this Apple Support article: AirPort: Joining an encrypted WEP or WPA Wi-Fi network

Don't know how to configure wireless card for internet
hi i just move to a new place, and i do not know how to set up my mac for wireless connection. i was given the basic information for the internet to work, and it works for my pc but not on mac. i was given
Network Name (ESS-ID or SSID)
WEP Key Type (Encryption type)
WEP Key Format
WEP Key
where do i go to fill in these info for internet?
please teach me what i m missing for i m not familiar with network. thank u.Airport is what Apple's trade name is for 802.11 wireless. If you have wireless in the computer, you have Airport. To see if you have Airport, on your menu bar, go under the and choose "About This Mac." Click on "More Info." About midway down the list on the left, you'll see "Airport." Click on it. That will tell you whether you are wireless-capable or not.
If you do not have Airport, you will need to tether up to the router directly using an ethernet cable if you want internet access or else upgrade the computer with an Airport Extreme card.
If you do have Airport, on your menu bar, go under the and choose System Preferences > Network >Show: > Airport>. Click on Network. If "locked," click on the padlock (lower left corner) to authenticate. Once authenticated, click on Show: and choose Airport. Click on Advanced (lower right corner). Click on "+" below "Preferred Networks" window. Answer the questions that you are asked, which will cover those four items (SSID and WEP info).
(Texas Mac Man: that link points to a guide for the Airport Express stand-alone wireless access point using /Applications/Utilities/Airport Utility, not for how to configure your Mac's built-in Airport Extreme card via System Preferences > Network. I could be wrong but I think annie.ryu is wanting information to configure the computer's Airport/Airport Extreme card via Sys Prefs' Network panel) -
Connecting Wirelessly to Internet with WEP
I have gone through the forum but can't really tell if any of the answers will solve my problem. My roommate has a wireless network set up with his PC, Airport finds it and I entered the WEP password and it connects to the network but the internet doesn't connect. I can connect an ethernet cable and the internet works fine. How do I get the wireless internet to work? I have had similiar problems with WEP passwords at other locations as well, like unable to connect or error. WPA works fine.
ThanksHello PGmacrookie. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
One of the problems with WEP is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.
In order to make things easier, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling the use of simple easy to remember WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys. The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a non-Apple client and vice versa.
You may find the following Apple article helpful, especially the part about "AirPort to Third-party". -
Urgent - How to configure Wireless manually ?
Gurus,
When I installed Portal and Wireless option, I UNchecked "the automatic configuration of wireless" option.
I'm having a problem with setting up Ultrasearch portlets and a note that I found says that the wireless should be configured, is that true ? If so, how do I configure Wireless option manually ? Which script do I need to run ?
Thanx a bunch. After the Oracle Universal Installed is closed, you can go to Enterprise Manager tool to configure the wireless component. This configuration step will launch the wireless assistant.

Configuring wired 802.1x with Cisco 2950 and NPS 2012 problem
Hi,
I am trying to setup wired authentication on my corporate network. For testing purposes, I have setup a Cisco 2950 switch for RADIUS authentication.
On the first day of the test, access messages were appearing on the event log of the 2012 Server and we were trying to address the issues with EAP and policy.(Network Policy and Access services)
Then, suddenly no events are written to the event log for the wired authentication. Accounting data is written to the log file at c:\windows\system32\logfiles, but nothing happens on the event log as if the NPS is not answering. We are using the same server for wireless 802.1x and all is working fine.
Checking the wired autoconfig log on the client, Restart Reason : Onex Auth Timeout appears.
Logging seems to be configured properly, there are no entries in event log. Below is the debug information from the 2950 switch;

Wireless 802.1x with Window 7
I have a WLC 6.0, ACS 3.3 and the SSID is setup to use 802.1x with Peap Authentication. The clients are using Windows 7 to connect to wireless. To get the clients connected they have to go into there network properties if the wireless card, configure the client to use PEAP, uncheck validate server certificate, and also uncheck use computer name to login into windows. This works fine and the user to able to connect to to wireless after dong all these steps and then entering in there Windows Username and Password. The customer is saying that this is to many steps for the end user and they just want the user to to click on the SSID and connect. If wireless could also be setup to use there windows username and password would be a bonus. I'm basically looking for a solution that is simple but is also secure as well. I know that's an oxymoron. Is there anything I could do to make the wireless process simpler. Either by going with a different security authentication or by doing something different on the clients computers. Thanks for any help and suggestions.
This is a script that we use on our campus (University of Leeds), that self configures an 802.1x connection and when a user connects to an 802.1x connection merely asks them for their username and password, which then remained cached.
The .exe you create takes away all the techy bits that do 'confuse' some users, even if they are provided with well written documentation.

Problems connecting on Wireless 802.11n with my T61 with Intel Wireless AGN
Hi, I live in Thailand and have a similar problem as others with my Intel Wireless AGN connection as others. I have a D-Link Model DSL-2740B Rangebooster N ADSL2/2+ Modem Router. It is supposed to support 802.11n draft wireless connections of up to a maximum of 270 MBPS versus 54 MBPS for 802-11G wireless. Of course, I don't expect it to reach the maximum transfer speed, particularly here in Thaiand, however I would expect it to produce results better than the 54 MBPS rate for 802-11G. I first tried it on my ThinkPad T61 which incorporates Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. When connected, it shows a speed of 54MBPS (802-11G) instead of higher wireless 802-11n speeds. I've upgraded my router to the latest firmware and have tried different configurations with no improvement in performance. One think I have noted is that when I make an on-line configuration change to my router configuration then select "apply", immediately my ThinkPad rate changes to 150 MBPS momentarily then my connection is lost (to be expected as the router changes are being implemented), followed by reconnection of wireless signal only to return at 54 MBPS again. I also have an older ThinkPad model without built-in wireless capability so I purchased a Belkin wireless 802.11n USB adapter to connect to my router. Again, the maximum connection is at 54 MBPS. When I repeat configuration changes to my router as I did above, my ThinkPad connection momentarily changes to only 1 MBPS instead of 150 MBPS as in my other T61 ThinkPad then reverts back to 54 MBPS once the configuration changes have been completed. Has anyone successfully used wireless 802.11n successfully at the higher transfer rates (above 54 MBPS)? Is it possible that my TOT Goldcyber connection speed is artificially limited? I notice that my rated speed for my desktop computer connected to my same D-Link DSL-2740B only indicates a rated speed of 100 MBPS. I use Vista Home Premium 64-bit on my destop, Vista Home Premium 32-bit on my ThinkPad T61, but us Windows XP Professional on my older ThinkPad. I feel that my problem is either with my ADSL carrier (TOT) or compatibility with my D-Link DSL-2740B Modem Router and my ThinkPad T61 internal wireless card and/or Belkin wireless n USB adapter. IT-City is letting me swap out the Belkin USB for the D-Link Rangebooster n DWA-140 USB adapter next week when they restock. The only other think that I can think of is that wireless n just doesn't work in Thailand and that maybe I should just stick with wireless G and go with a higher powered wireless USB model such as the business rated EmGenius EUB 362 EXT. Has anyone used this model and had good success with it; I've heard that it is a long range model and has the capability of reaching 108 MBPS through some sort of magic? Looking forward to reading your replies and possible solution.
PattayadavidHi!
Intel Wi-Fi cards support full 802.11n speed of 300 Mb/s working at 5 GHz range only. Your D-Link DSL-2740B works only in 2.4 GHz range. So to get 300 Mb/s you have to get another wi-fi router that supports 802.11n in both 2.4 and 5 GHz, for instance Lynksys WRT610N or Apple Airport Extreme or whatever. -
10.4.7 wireless connect problem with wep security
I can no longer connect either my powerbook or powermac to either of my wireless access points if wep security is used. One router runs wpa, the other has to run wep because that's all the print server can do. To pin this down, I found that both computers can connect to an access point configured wpa. And both can connect if security disabled. But neither can connect with access point setup with wep. System preferences says connected to the internet, but it's not. Before 10.4.7 I could connect with no problems. Have two PCs running XP that continue to access wireless router using wep security. Anybody having this problem? And any suggestions??
ThanksAssuming you have 3rd party wireless routers, have you checked the router manufacturer's website to see if a firmware update is available for the router models targeted at OS X users?
I'm using WPA2 personal with my AEBS at Home and my girlfriend uses WEP with her AEBS at her house and I've had no problems connecting to her wireless network and accessing the internet with 10.4.7.
She also uses WEP with a 3rd party wireless router at her condo on the coast and I've had no problems connecting there either.

In Manage Accounts, instead of a list of products (I'm a Creative Crowd member) I always get the error message: "We are unable to load all your plans & products. Please try again." Does that mean I'm not properly registered and won't get updates etc?
