How to Configuring Groups and Transport Targets ?

Hi Experts,
         In my scenario i am having two XI Servers XI1(DEV) and XI2(QUA) each system is connected to different r/3 system.
     If i transport object from XI1(DEV) to XI2(QUA) after defining Transport Target in XI1(DEV) as r/3 system connected to XI2(QUA) using file system would be fine (or) should i go for CTS?
Regards,
RajeshKumar.D

Hi,
You have to use Transpoprt method
Procedure:
1) Call Integration Builder screen on DEV Server with http://hostname:J2ee Port/rep
2) Call SLD (System Landscape Directory) Component from the Integration builder
Save all the .zip files on the Local Desktop
3) Select the Software Component & say Export that you want to Export from DEV
Server to Production server and which is going to use in the IR of XI
4) Also Select the Product of the above SWC and say Export
5) Select the Technical Systems (TS of XI & TS of the SAP R/3) and say Export
6) Select the Business System(s) & say Export; those are associated with above Exported
Technical systems.
In Production Server
1) Logon to the SLD of the Production Server.
2) Create a Technical System and Business system which points to the Production SAP R/3
3) Go to Administration TAB in the main page of SLD
4) Select the Import option to Import the SWC , PRD, TS,& BS which we Exported Earlier in DEV Server
5) Click on Browse and select the .zip files that is to Import into Production Server,
Which were stored on the local desktop at the time of DEV Server Export
And say Import Selected File Option
By this we exported and imported the SLD Objects
Now we have to create transport groups and transport targets in the Production server of SLD
Creation of Transport Groups
1) Select the Business systems GroupEdit Groups
2) Click on New Group and give the name of the group as DEV_group & select the
Corresponding Development serveru2019s integration Server
3) Similar way create another group for Production serveru2019s business system as
PRD_group and select the Production serveru2019s integration Server
Creation of transport targets
This is to Define which business systems in two different groups correspond to each other
1) Select each Business system in the SLD and select transport TAB---click on
Add/Change Target and select its corresponding target business system.
For Example:
If you select the business system of Production XI server means
In the target you have to select group as DEVGROUP and the business system of Development XI server.
Like this do the same for other business systems also
Ex:
BS_PRD_Integration Server----
BS_DEV_Inetration Server

  • Configuring Groups and Transport Targets

    Hi All,
    I went through SAP help for this..i found this a little confusing.
    Do i create groups DEV,QAS,PRD in XI development SLD. Or the groups should be there in the respective systems SLD.
    In my case in Dev SLD only the development systems is visible in the SLD and in QAS the quality systems are visible in the SLD.
    Do i need to show all the systems in each of the SLD?
    Does the SAP help mean that we have only one SLD for the development, quality and production systems?
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Bhavesh,
    I have different SLD. One each for DEV, QA, PRD.
    i have installed CMS in development XI system
    >>>>,<i> in the QA SLD , you would need the Dev and the QA transprot Group and then create the trasnprot targets for the same.</i>
    Does it mean that in my QA SLD all the systems which are there in the Development system should be there?
    Or shall i export the development SLD and then import it in the QA server.
    Im on XI7.0 sp 9.

  • How & Where to create the Target Groups and Transport Targets for Business

    Hi Experts,
               I am Transporting the scenarios from Development 500 client XI system to Development 500 client PI7.1 system. I have taken the exports of Technical system and Business System from the DEV XI system and correspondingly have imported the same in the PI7.1 system. I can see the all the business system in the Business system SLD of the PI7.1 system. I would like to assign the Business System Groups and Transport Targets for every business system that I want to transport. How can I do that ? Whether this is to be done in DEV XI system or the DEV PI system? Can somebody elaborate the step by step method to create the Groups and Target system for the every Business system so that I can import the object of the Integration Directory sucessfully................................
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Supriya,
               Thanks for the reply and good illustration............Still going further after defing the destination for transport in the source SLD Business system ( XI dev server) , then we should export it and subsequently import it in the SLD of the PI 7.1 ie the destination server.  Then we should transport the objects of Integration Repository and Integration Directory to the new PI7.1 server. Is this the right way to proceed.?  Hope that this will not give the error while importing the objects in Integration Directory. An typical which comes while importing the objects in the Integration Directory is as follows:-
    *Import failed because of business system transfer of object Communication Component | PCM: Obligatory transport target for business system PCM not found in System Landscape Directory*
    Pls clarify on this ......
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to Create groups and targets....

    Hi guys,
    Here is a chance of getting some easy points
    I know that it may seem a dumb question but I can't find out how to create a transport group and a transport target....
    I've read help.sap and some other threads related to the subject but all I was able to get was:
    help.SAP.com
    "Procedure
    Defining Groups of Business Systems
    Define groups of business systems for different areas of use (for example, testing and production) and assign an Integration Server to each group.
           1.      On the initial screen of the SLD, choose Business Landscape.
           2.      From the dropdown list box for the input field Groups, choose Edit Groups…. "
    Well I can't find where is the dropdown list....:S
    I'm using SP10 and all I have in the SLD are 3 options:
    1.Technical Systems
    View and Define Systems and Servers
    2. Landscapes
    View and Configure Groups of Systems
    3. Business Systems
    View and Configure Business Systems for Use in Exchange Infrastructure (XI)
    If I choose "Landscapes", the only thing I'm able to do is to create a landscape from a specific type (Adminitration, General, Transports, NWDI systems, etc....)
    If I create a landscape with the type 'Transports" and then associate a technical System, I thought that in my Business System I would be able to choose this lanscape....
    But The only thing I have is group and transport target and they're completely empty, showing "No additional groups available" and "No targets"...
    Can anyone help me and get some easy rewarding points?

    Hi Chirag,
    I've read the following link, but the question is....
    - Where is the link to create transport groups? That is my only question It's as easy as that
    Found it...sorry I knew it was easy

  • How to configure verp and leih

    hi gurus,
    can you please tell me how to configure a verp and leih item cat to produce the billing and returnable packaging mats?
    thanks,
    paul

    Hi
    one will have to create returnable packaging materials in the material master record with item category group LEIH (item category TAL is determined).
    Item Cat grp = verp , should be defined in 'Sales:sales org . 2' tab in Mat. master.Thing to be noted is you need to check "Material Type" , If it is not VERP then change it to VERP using transaction MMAM. Or just create a new one with type = packaging.
    here's what I use ,to determine the delivery item category , as an example
    LF / VERP / / / DLN
    LF / VERP / PACK / / DLN / DLP / KEN
    ( DlvT/ItCG/Usg./ItmC )
    hope this helps

  • How to configure oracle and ms-access db

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to push data from the oracle to ms access. My oracle database is on the Unix server and ms access is on my local desktop. Is there a way to configure if so how to configure both the db? Basically I am wanted to make the ms access visible to oracle so that I can use the Heterogeneous package. Please let me know if there are any different ways.
    my oracle version is
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit
    ms-access 2007
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You could use the Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) to do this. It uses a third party ODBC driver to make the connection to MS-Access so the best option would be to install it on the Windows machine where Access is running and use the Microsoft Access driver.
    Otherwise, you could install on Unix where Oracle is running but I don't think there is third party Access driver for Unix.
    The following note available in My Oracle Support describes the setup on Windows -
    Note.466225.1 How to Setup DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on Windows 32bit
    You should install the latest 11.2 DG4ODBC and this note has pointers to the download sites -
    Note.1083703.1 Master Note for Oracle Gateway Products
    DG4ODBC can be installed standalone without an RDBMS being installed.

  • [SOLVED] How to configure prosody and jitsi to work together?

    Hi,
    I want to use prosody to connect several jitsi accounts on different computers on a LAN. I have followed the Prosody page in our wiki to set up Prosody and some user accounts. The service starts and ss -tul indicates that it is listening on the expected ports. I have created the missing key and certificate files expected by the default setup and placed them in /etc/prosody/certs.
    I have created the account foo@localhost using prosodyctl adduser foo@localhost.
    In jitsi I have created an XMPP account (foo@localhost) on the same host as prosody. The account appears but it fails to connect to the server. Jitsi displays error messages on the console which indicates that the server does not support TLS connections even though these are enabled in the prosody configuration file (and lua51-sec is installed).
    I have tried numerous variations of disabling encryption in both prosody and jitsi but I either get the same error message or jitsi simply hangs while trying to connect to the server.
    So far the only thing that I've been able to find that deals specifically with prosody and jitsi is an episode of the Linux Action Show from last year that skimps on the details of the setup. The various online documentation that I've found seems to be for an older version or Prosody (e.g. Host entries in the configuration file).
    Does anyone have a similar setup working with the latest versions of Prosody and Jitsi? If so, please share your configurations.
    edit
    I went through the Prosody wiki page again today and managed to get it working. I think my problem was in misconfigured paths for the SSL server certificates in the VirtualHost section.

  • How to configure Queue and QueueConnectionFactory for a MDB

    Hi *,
    I want to send some messages from a session bean to a message driven bean. Therefore I'll use the default Queue (sapDemoQueue) and QueueConnectionFactory.
    In the ServiceLocator of my SessionBean I do the lookup with following methods:
        public QueueConnectionFactory getQueueConnectionFactory() throws NamingException {
            if (queueConnectionFactory == null) {
                Object obj = ctx.lookup("jmsfactory/default/QueueConnectionFactory");
                queueConnectionFactory = (QueueConnectionFactory) obj;
            return queueConnectionFactory;
        public Queue getQueue() throws NamingException {
            if (queue == null) {
                Object obj = ctx.lookup("jmsqueues/default/sapDemoQueue");
                queue = (Queue) obj;
            return queue;
    My Message Driven Bean is configure as followed:

  • How to configure apache and weblogic in windows 2000

    i am novice,
    i want to configure apache and weblogic in windows 2000
    weblogic version is 6.1
    apache version is 2.0
    how to do?

    George,
    I would take the following 'first steps'
    1)Install Apache20 on your Windows machine following the Apache online documentation
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/misc/tutorials.html
    2)Make sure you can 'serve up' static HTML content from your Apache Server
    3)Install Weblogic Server per our online documentation
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/install/index.html
    4)Also, make sure you can 'serve up' both static and dynamic (e.g., JSP) content
    directly from WLS server
    5)Once you have both of the above 'sanity' checks attempt to configure a simple
    proxy by ppath or mime type via our online documentation

  • OWB 10gR2 : How to configure ctl and log locations for Sql*Loader mappings?

    Hi all,
    I'm using OWB 10gR2 to load data in tables with Sql*Loader mappings.
    In my project I have a datafile module and an Oracle module.
    When creating an sql*loader mapping in the oracle module, there is two properties for this mappings that I want to modify. The first is Control File Location and the second is Log File Location. Values for those properties are equal to the data file module location. When trying to change those values I can only chose "Use module configuration location".
    Somebody knows how to configure those properties with different locations as the one of the flat file module?
    What I want to do is to store the data file in one directory, and control file and log file in other directories.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
    You're right, my problem is that the dropdown only show the location associated with the flat file location even if I have other file locations created in the design repository.
    The good news is that I have found the solution to solve the problem :
    1) Edit the file module and in tab "Data locations", add the locations you want to use for control file and log file.
    2) Open configuration window of the mapping and then the dropdown for properties Control File Location and Log File Location show new locations
    I have tested my mapping after changing those properties and it's working.
