How to connect a E1200 wireless router to a machine tool network for wireless communications

Hello all, I am new to the forum, hope someone can help me out. I am wanting to connect my E1200 wireless router to a machine tool in our factory that has programmable controllers and is connected to the machine components via ethernet connections. This is so we can troubleshoot the machine without having a wired laptop. We have several ethernet switches on the machine and a range of IP addresses say from 192.16.1.1 through 192.16.1.150, and 192.16.17.1 through 192.16.17.150, all of the addresses are not used but random addresses in the range. I would like to be able to connect my E1200 to either one of the networks without having to make a change in the router setup. I can make it work on either network but when I switch my cable to the other network it has to be reconfigured. I am currently connecting my data cable to a ethernet port on the router and changing my router address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.16.1.1 and selecting a range of 150 so it will assign numbers as needed. This works great until I change to the other network and I have to change my router address to 192.16.17.1, I know this can be done on some routers because the technicians from the machine builder use them when working on the machines. thanks

On the basic setup tab make the changes shown below:
This basically make the router disappear off the existing networks and turns it into a wireless AP.
Then when you set your laptop's wireless adapter to whatever IP network you want to connect to.
If you need to connect to your router again change the laptop's adapter IP to something like 192.168.200.2
Keep in mind nothing ever gets plugged into the Internet Port on the router.
What I do with these manufacturing machine's is put them on the company network with static IP's. Then so operators can transfer programs and view drawings I place ELO touchscreens at each location. For the Laser cutter operators that do nesting they have a desktop workstation for the CAD software and put the nests on a network share or direct to the laser cutters.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

How do I set up my HP psc2175xi all in one printer for wireless printing or network printing?
I am changing the set up of my home computer to add another computer.
I would like to go wireless from my computers to the hub and wired from the hub to my
printer. I do not think this printer can do that since it does not have the ports to connect to a router hub, I think.
I am rather new to this way of setting up, so any help would be nice.

You could get a wireless router that supports USB printers, but these only support printing, not scanning.  You could just go buy a new wireless printer since your printer is pretty old, anyway.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • How to connect my macbook pro to a computer-to-computer network?

how to connect my macbook pro to a computer-to-computer network?  My home computer is a Window 8 OS.  Thx.

The easiest way, and it may work from scratch, is to share the folders/drives you want access to on your pc, noticing what are the default parameters (eg "workgroup" etc.).
Then, you can connect your mac directly by ethernet, for instance, and, in Finder, go to > Network, you should see the folders/drives. You may be asked to provide user/password.
Don't get confused by regular/crossed ethernet cable, as mac can cross by software, so a regular cable will be ok.
Anyway, either you isd modem has the ability to connect several devices (multiple ethernet sockets, or wifi), or you can buy a router, which isn't expansive.

  • Can I use my wireless/Airport card to create a network for Home Sharing?

I don't have a separate router. Can I use my MBP's wireless/Airport card to create a network for Home Sharing?

I was unable to use the network preference "Create Network" option as it kept crashing, so I didn't really get to figure out if this is possible. If anyone else has done this, I would be interested to know for the future.
Is it possible to setup a home network without a separate router? Is the wireless/airort card enough to setup and maintain a home network for Home sharing?

  • I have an ipad first generation.  I am trying to connect to a linksys router and it is not finding the wireless network.  what do i need to do?

I have an ipad first generation.  I am trying to connect to a linksys router and the ipad is not finding the wireless network.  What do I need to do?  Thanks for your help.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Unfortunately your printer is only USB and unless you use something a hp jetdirect print server modules you will not be able to hookup to the router and make it a network printer. Also that USB on the router is mainly for network storage devices not regular USB hookups unless they state otherwise. AFAIK

  • How to connect a printer (wireles) to an existing mac-AE network from a PC?

I have an airport extreme configured network that works perfectly well. That means that my mac connection to Internet is fine and I can print documents wireless without a problem from my mac.
Recently I got a PC computer (OS Windows 7). Since the beginning, it recognized the wireless network and, after input the network password, it connects as fine as the mac does to Internet.
The problem came up when I tried to configure the printer to print wireless from the new PC, as I do with the mac. Simply, I have not managed to do so. I only can print with the cable from the new PC.
I have not installed any software related to the airport extreme base (airport utility). I thought that it was unnecessary since I could connect to the existing network with the PC since the beginning. But I do not know if that is required.
If someone know how to proceed (the steps) to successfully configure the PC/Printer to print wireless in the existing Mac/AirportExtreme/Printer network, I would be very greatful.
    Thank you!

  • How to connect a Linksys WES610N Bridge to an Airport Express network

I'm surprised I haven't been able to find an answer to this question anywhere online. I haven't even found anyone asking this question!???
I'm trying to connect a Cisco Linksys WES610N Entertainment Bridge to my Airport Express wireless network. This will allow me to plug my blu-ray player into the bridge and go online for Netflix. (My TV does not have an online option, unfortunately.)
The setup instructions indicate to press the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on my router before pressing the same on the bridge. Of course, Airport Express (assuming that's my router) does not have such a button. I tried turning off security to my network using Airport Utility and trying to connect that way, without success.
Some help documents from Cisco suggest connecting both the bridge and my computer to a router using ethernet cables and accessing setup through a web-based interface, but again, Airport Express has only one ethernet port, so that's not an option.
Cisco has very little Mac support :-(
Hoping the Apple community can help me.

Okay, so to answer my own question after considerable sleuthing . . . for anyone else trying to do this:
Connect your computer to the bridge using an ethernet cable, then open a browser and enter the following address: http://169.254.1.250
This will take you to a login page: leave the username field blank, enter "admin" in the password.
You will see the Cisco setup page. I selected manual setup and entered the name of my network and password. I got a progress bar and finally the wireless network light on the bridge started flickering.

  • WRT54G Wireless Router Will Not Assign a Network Address

A Linksys WRT54G router will not assign a network address when I access the router using a Linksys WPC600N wireless card. I have the same problem accessing the router with a TRENDnet TEW-621PC wireless adapter. Both wireless adapters are assigned network addresses when I use other wireless routers. Also, I have no problems being assigned a network address when I access the WRT54G router in question using an old 2WIRE 802.11b wireless card.
I have tried "Repairing" the connection, I have used ipconfig to "release" and "renew" the connection. However, each attempt fails to have a DHCP address assigned.
I am a visitor at the work location with the connection problem, the router works for others without any issues.
    Thanks

Well in such case .... you can try few settings on the wireless adapter ....
If you are using WLAN monitor .....
Click start >> All programs >> Linksys wireless monitor >> Click on "Profile" >> Delete all profiles >> Click "New" >> Type in the wireless network name >> Click next >> Configure the rest of the wireless settings same as in the router ...
At last point it shows .... all the configuration settings ...reconfirm that  >> Click on connect ot a network & reboot the computer ...
After reboot see if it shows connected or not....
You can also use Static Ip in the configuration ....

  • Wireless router to feed a cat5 network?

    Hello,
I am trying to create a network. My internet is fed from a cable modem and into a new ASUS 68R wireless router.  I have a cat5 cable network in my business located in a building 100' from my home. In the business I want to connect a Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, printer, a security system and I would like to add a system for info backup using a desktop PC.
Presently I have wireless access for both Macs and the printer. The security system needs to be connected in some way and the addition of wired backup space is needed.
    I have 2 10/100 switches
If possible I would like to have everything wired for extra speed and security.
Is this possible? The wireless needs to be where it is now for coverage of both buildings.
The feed for the building is located at the router/modem location.
I hope I have provided enough info and will be more then happy to provide whatever else is needed.
    Thank you!

Everything you mention has been done it terms of cable installation, and them some. Everything in conduit with the best grade of cat5 cable available both underground and throughout the building and well within distance specs. (silicone filled shielded cable) Properly grounded, terminated and ready to go.
My layout has one cable from the wireless router into the building for internet. Then cables were run from one central space then individually to all of the access points.
My main question is more computer based.
    1) If I turn my wi-fi off at my computers and hook it all up as a wired network will it be more secure and more convenient in terms of access and file sharing? I am presently running at around 15mb wireless for internet and the two macs sharing only the printer by wireless. I am hoping that the internal speeds of a wired network and the internet signal supplied wired from the wireless router will be more stable and up to the maximum speed my provider is suppling.
    2) I need to hook up:
    a) MacBook Pro
    b) MacMini
    c) Printer
    d) External hard drive (s)
    e) An internal security system - it is a video format and has a deck that controls it. It runs on H264 format that is a pain and that I am having a hard time getting to run correctly.
    f) An external method of backing up/controlling the security system. I believe that it has to be a PC. I do not know if I install Windows onto my Macs if I can eliminate using a separate stand alone PC. That would be very nice if I could do that and be able to use my Macs to access the real time video signal in the different areas of the building.
    3) What is the procedure to make all of the pieces play together nicely.
    4) If my 2-5 port 10/100 switches will be sufficient. My file size transfer is small. It is just a pain running back and forth with usb based backups and in the process forgetting what changes I made on one computer while adding new from the other.
    5) My file sharing needs are for backup for the two computers onto an external hard drive and access to all of the files created by one to the other.
    6) Wired shared printer
    7) The other task is for the security system to also be backed up externally instead of to the very small drive included inside the machine. The security is video format only but I do not believe that the OS in the deck can be changed to Mac therefore the need for a PC (or Windows) in the mix in some method.
I hope that I have made this question...well questions...more concice.
    Thank you!

I have a wireless router @ home and IPAD was working fine until it started asking for cellular data plan. I always choose later now will not allow me to use safari unless I pick a data plan.

Ok turned off cellular data & roaming off. Checked Wifi Networks it displays my correct network.

  • How to connect to Akamai using RTMP SDK (Adobe Media Server Connector for C++)?

We need to stream live video to Akamai using RTMP. But, we are trying to connect using ADOBE RTMP SDK (Adobe Media Server Connector for C++ 2.0.1), but have no idea regarding how to connect to Akamai using the SDK. How to make the SDK respond to the server challenges for password etc. If this can't be done using the RTMP SDK, we can use plain C++ for the purpose. But for that too, we don't have any idea regarding the steps involved to make it work. If anyone has any idea on how to connect to Akamai using the RTMP SDK or using plain C++ (a sample code will be very helpful), please help us out. If you can suggest any C/C++/.NET library too which will help us achieve it, we are ready to do so. Thanks in advance.

    hi,
I am sorry I can not help you.  Could you do me a favor? I know you are using Adobe RTMP SDK.I want to know how to get it.
I tried to contact adobe at [email protected] but it seems to be an invalid email address.if you know efficient way,
please tell me.Thank you very much.
