How to connect an ipod touch to a new pc ?

Hello,
I would like to use my old ipod touch on a new PC.
My ipod, previously used on my wife's PC, is not recognized by itunes my PC.
Can anybody provide me the solution ?

C:\Documents and settings\All users\Application Data\Apple.
My PC is running with windows XP.

I am very troubled with my ipod touch because I don't see my ipod folder showing up on my computer. i have tried all possible ways to make it viewable but somehow i end up seeing only my internal storage (dcim/pictures). Its really frustrating because bought a new laptop with windows 8 and installed a new itunes but only to find out that i cant transfer my songs right away.... I can connect my ipod touch to the itunes swiftly but to transfer my songs from my ipod to my computer is such a hassle. so please if anyone could help me figure this out... I cant buy an iphone unless i fix my problem with my ipod.....

Do you have a wifi network set up already? If so, after you synch the Touch with iTunes and do the initial setup, it should hookup with your network automatically. If it doesn't, go into SETTINGS>WIFI on your Touch to see if your network shows up there. If not, click on "other" and put in the name of your network and then see if the Touch finds it.

I also already owned an Apple component av cable that I use to use to connect my classic to my tv which worked perfectly, and the users guide for the touch shows that it can be used to connect the touch as well. However, when I connect it to my tv the audio is fine but the video comes out in black & white and split into two.

Did you check the video format? Can you show slideshows in the right colors?

Recently I bought an iPad and a MacBook Pro retina. I have been reading all manuals and watched some tutorials at the support center from Apple, but it does not makes it clear my following questions:
1. How to syncronise all 4 items (iMac, MBP, iPod and iPad) with the same information stored in iTunes, Pictures and Videos???
2. I have an Apple ID, but i can not use it with all 4 devices, right?... should I create 4 different for each and the use the iCloud account?
3. I also bought a Time Capsule 3TB, but I do not know if this helps or not with this matter.

pls help me on this. theres a sign of wifi at the upper left of my ipod meaning i am connected to the ad hoc i have created in my laptop. but when i go to safari, itunes, facebook, email, it always appear that theres no internet connection. please help me on this.

Is the as hoc network assigning an IP address (using DHCP)? If not yo will have to go to Settings>wifi the connected network and enter the appropriate IP address and other things like DNS. What you enter depends upon how your network is setup. The instructions for setting it up should say how to configure it.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this? not good.
You can transfer itunes purchases form an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
You can enter a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. you should get the option to merge.
You can import any pics taken with the ipod, and e-mail any pics synced to the ipod to yourself.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which you sync.

Guys, my Laptop's hard drive was crash and all my songs and applications were the only copy I had. However, I had no idea how to restore my musics and application back to the library after I had replace a new hard disk. I went through online to check out some solutions but basically they required a software to retrieve those music and they cost money. Try a manual backup of your ipod to save your data and settings, here's how to:
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.

Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
