How to connect BlackBerry Pearl to Mac to transfer media?

I'm having difficulty connecting my BlackBerry Pearl 8100 to my Mac for transfering MP3s and photos. What is the best way to achieve this, as RIM's software does not supoort Mac?

Would a bluetooth connection work? What about iSync?

We need to stream live video to Akamai using RTMP. But, we are trying to connect using ADOBE RTMP SDK (Adobe Media Server Connector for C++ 2.0.1), but have no idea regarding how to connect to Akamai using the SDK. How to make the SDK respond to the server challenges for password etc. If this can't be done using the RTMP SDK, we can use plain C++ for the purpose. But for that too, we don't have any idea regarding the steps involved to make it work. If anyone has any idea on how to connect to Akamai using the RTMP SDK or using plain C++ (a sample code will be very helpful), please help us out. If you can suggest any C/C++/.NET library too which will help us achieve it, we are ready to do so. Thanks in advance.

How to Connect my PC to Mac Mini Airport wirelessly?

This may be more of a PC question, but I'm trying to connect my PC laptop to my mac mini.
I turned on internet sharing on the Mini.
I can see my Airport wireless network on the PC, it says I'm connected.
I do not have a password enabled on the airport network.
The PC browser says it cannot find the server and will not load a webpage even though the wireless network connection window says I'm connected to my wireless network.

I would unplug the AirPort Express at this point and see if you can get the Internet sharing with the PC configured.
My Mac mini is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable to my ISP's gateway. I am sharing the Ethernet connection to two iPod Touches via AirPort from my Mac mini. These are the steps for internet sharing from Ethernet to AirPort. See if you have followed them correctly in configuring your kit.
1. In Sys Prefs/Sharing I highlighted Internet Sharing (do not check the box)
2. Share your connection from: Ethernet (from the dropdown menu)
3. To computers using: AirPort (check the little box)
4. Press the button AirPort Options...
5. Name your Network
6. I use Automatic for the channel
7. I encrypt my network using a 40-bit WEP key
8. For a non-Apple device you must use only a 5 alphanumeric character, 40-bit WEP password or only a 13 alphanumeric character 128-bit WEP password
9. Press OK
10. Check the box for Internet Sharing
11. Answer any dialog boxes that pop up
If everything on the Mac end is correct then the issue may lie with the PC since Windows is much more picky about how it is configured. Here is an article that may assist you in getting the PC correct;

Other things that you could try is to name your network with a short name without spaces, such as your Apple Discussions User Name. Also create WEP passwords of only 5 or 13 alphanumerics. Some also suggest an All Caps password.

Help with syncing blackberry pearl to Mac

hopefully a simple question. I have Pearl 8100 and can't figure out what to chose on the drop down menu when looking for syncing software for Mac. There is a blackberry 8120 option but that doesn't seem right. Can anyone advise?

Which Blackberry syncing solution are you using? PocketMac, Blackberry or MarkSpace?
Have you tried contacting the technical support of the company who's product you're using? (iSync doesn't support Blackberry devices natively, so it's not really an Apple issue.)

I sent YAMAHA a message on their facebook support letting them know of their problem:

How do i save a pdf to my iphone 4s as it no longer works by connecting my phone to mac and transfer via itunes

in ios6 i would connect my iphone to itunes via cable and then transfer pdf files straight to my phone. this was quick and easy as i use a lot of different pdf files to presnet to clients.
This function is now replaced by the much older format which only allows you to sync books from you have bought using itunes!
The alternative is to email myself the files but often they are over 100-200mb and can take a long time for what was a much simpler method of plug in and drag file over

If you are using OS Mavericks and iOS7 then they have changed what was once an easy operation.
Now you have to open iBooks in OSX on your Mac/laptop and add the PDF to the library (iBooks>Window>Library) by dragging the PDF there. Now when you go to iTunes you will see the PDF in Books after selecting your device. Perform a sync and it now appears in your iBooks app.
Dont know why they had to make it so difficult.

2 iMac + 2 MBP + 2 .me accounts + 1 extreme = How to connect Back to my Mac

I'm having trouble figuring out how Two .me accounts can access USB hard drives via Back to My Mac.
Under the apple extreme setup I can apply only one Mobile Me account at a time. (works great! I'm able to access my drives while I'm not at home.) But if the other person living in the house wants to access his drive while not at home how is this accomplished.
Here's some of the idea's:
1. Have one of us sign-in under the other user's mobile me account on their MacBook Pro and have it to NOT sync?
2. Get a family Mobile Me account and set up a third generic "person" and set that up in the extreme software.
3. Get a second Extreme and set the second one up w/ the other mobile me account (this came from a Mac genius after spending an hour in the store and this was their top network guy.)
4. Or should I just say "forget it" and get the pogoplug and cancel my mobile me accounts?

Wow, no one answered your question. It seems to me that Apple has taken the tact of allowing only one user to use Back To My Mac on the Airport ExTreme.
I suggest the Pogoplug. It is not as optimal as BTMM, IMHO, but it does a very nice job for the cost. I have 1TB on mine, and have enjoyed the use. Even the iPhone app allows access to the files. You cannot get to your Airport disk easily with iPhone

So why do you use the i.Link (firewire) port to connect an audio receiver to the notebook ?:|
This notebook should support the S/PDIF jack. This lets you connect a audio-output device as a external speaker or a power amplifier. It allows the lossless digital transfer of audio data from device to another.
To connect the both devices you would need an S/PDIF cable ask your dealer for such compatible cable. He should know what would be compatible.

How do I use imac or mac mini as media server for Beoplay A*?

We are contemplating buying a Beoplay A* and and appropraite Mac configuration to support it. I'd like to load all our musc into Itunes from CD's, as well as stream from things like Pandora. I'm having trouble fnding any helpful documentation.
How does htis work? If the mac is in one room, and the beoplay in another how do we connect them, and what's the GUI / remote control?

You can enable file sharing on the computer you want to use as a server in System Preferences.
On your other computers, you can connect to server in the Go menu of the finder and type in the server's name plus a .local extension. If you name your server computer "Server" then type in server.local and login with an account on the server.
Otherwise you can buy OS X Server from the App Store but that's more complicated if all you want to do is share files.

There should be a way to get it off the Blackberry to the computer first, then from the computer to the iPhone. I don't believe you can go directly between the 2 phones. Try googling getting it off the blackberry to Win XP. The iPhone supports Outlook 2003 or 2007, do you run either of those?

In order for your device to synchronize with your Mac you will need to install PocketMac. On top of this, a device that is activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server will typically have its calendar, contacts, memo pad and tasks (as well as some others) databases locked so that they can't be synchronized using a cable unless modifications are made. The best way to find out if your device will charge using your Mac in its current state is to connect the device to the Mac to see if you get the charging indicator on the device. If, after you plug in the device, you still don't have the charging indicator showing, you will need to install the drivers for the BlackBerry on the Mac and the easiest way to do this is to install PocketMac.
